#but does Iron Fist count as a magic user???
age-of-moonknight · 4 months
Note
Do you know comics where moon knight team up with strange? Or deadpool?
Or where he interact with magic marvel characters?
Oh, for sure! Moon Knight has teamed up with Doctor Strange a couple times, as well as with Doctor Voodoo and Clea. There's also the Damnation event which involved a whole slew of magic users and magic-adjacent characters, including Doctor Strange, Doctor Voodoo, and Wong. The event itself, however, is,,,,unfortunately (fair warning, the following is largely just my opinion) not the greatest in its portrayal of MK. It tends to use Mr. Knight as the comedic relief and the "comedy" boils down to "ohohoheehee I'm so unstable and can someone please recommend me a psychiatrist," which can be...abrasive if you're feeling charitable and I've seen others who were feeling decidedly less charitable describe it as a little offensive. Which is a shame, because at least in my eyes, the event has a great line up and could have been even better. I'll throw in the citations though for anyone who wants to check it out and form their own opinions.
MK's relationship with Deadpool is uuuuh unfortunately a bit more rocky. Moon Knight's goals rarely line up with Deadpool's in the 616 Universe, so MK doesn't "team up" with Wade so much as, as I said in this post (and I quote myself not to self-aggrandize, but because, well, I'm not particularly creative in my metaphors), use Wade like one of "those stress-relief squeeze toys." Moon Knight was greatly intrigued when he discovered Wade can't die and consequently uses that to his advantage. Outside of the 616 continuity, Mr. Knight is much more sympathetic to Wade in Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe Again, but gosh, I never feel great recommending that series without some degree of forewarning. While I genuinely enjoyed some moments, as you can probably guess from the title,,,,it has such a terribly sad ending that still kind of haunts me tbh. But I'll include that just in case you're curious! All of the associated citations are beneath the cut as this was starting to get a bit long (whoops mea culpa)
Doctor Strange
Moon Knight (Vol. 1/1980), #36: A classic two hero team-up
Marc Spector: Moon Knight (vol. 1/1989), #44 and #46: Strange was pivotal in I guess what could be considered exorcising a demon out of Moon Knight
“The Empty Tomb,” Moon Knight: Black, White & Blood (Vol. 1/2022), #2: I'm not entirely sure if this is 616-compliant (and I kind of hope it isn't personally), but this is another case of Marc approaching Stephen for medical/mystical advice The following are instances I found of MK and Strange being on a larger team together but their interactions are comparatively minimal
Marvel Knights (Vol. 1/2000), #8
Original Sin (Vol. 1/2014), #4
Punisher (Vol. 13/2022), #9-12
(Special Note) The Avengers (Vol. 8/2018), #33: the infamous time Marc punched out Strange and stole the Eye of Agamotto, which Marc mentions he wishes he could properly apologize for in Death of Doctor Strange: Spider-Man (Vol. 1/2022), #1 and is pointedly brought up by Wong in Moon Knight (Vol. 9/2021), #9 (the Damnation event is also alluded to in that latter issue) Deadpool
Vengeance of the Moon Knight (Vol. 1/2009), #7-8: Their only major interaction, as far as I'm aware, but it's not a team-up unfortunately (mainly they just beat each other up)
Deadpool (Vol. 4/2008), #28-9: Some collaborative work together, but the most interaction they have is when Moon Knight needs very little prompting to snap Deadpool's neck (unfortunate all around)
Deadpool (vol. 4/2008), #49.1: the previous incident gets a one-page musical reprise (this is Deadpool we're talking about, so you know I'm not kidding hahaha)
Deadpool: Assassin (Vol. 1/2018), #4: They do manage to have a comparatively amicable one-panel interaction here though...
“So White. Yet, So Dark,” Moon Knight: Black, White & Blood (Vol. 1/2022), #1: ...but not amicable enough that Marc will lend Wade the Mr. Knight suit the next time they see each other
Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe Again (Vol. 1/2017) #1-3
Doctor Voodoo
Clea
Strange (Vol. 3/2022), #5: An absolute delight of a classic team-up
Doctor Strange (Vol. 6/2023), #2: Mr. Knight calls her and Stephen in on a case
Bonus: according to Strange (Vol. 3/2022), #9, after working together, Clea thinks Moon Knight is a "dear," much to Stephen's consternation.
Moon Knight did work with the Strange Academy kids in Strange Academy: Moon Knight (Vol. 1/2023), #1, but that ends on a bit of a cliffhanger (for MK at least) that never did quite get resolved, unless I missed something entirely.
The issues Moon Knight appears in for the Damnation event are as follows, in chronological order:
And with that, I'll leave you with something that could have been and something I will never miss a chance to bring up: Greg Smallwood's Midnight Sons (I WEEP for roads not taken, let me tell you)
I hope there's something in here that is of interest to you! Happy reading!

i’ve been thinking about the future of the mcu and realized there’s a LOT that i didn’t know/didn’t remember in terms of where things are going so i figured i’d sum it up incase anyone else was in the same boat!!
quick recap of (unresolved) mid-credit scenes:
doctor strange: mordo (a sorcerer that is one of strange’s mentors, who by the end of the movie becomes disillusioned with magic/the ancient one and quits) confronts pangborn (the paraplegic who healed himself with the mystic arts, who tells strange about mystic arts in the first place) and steals his magic because according to mordo, there are “too many sorcerers." of note, this guy is typically a villain in the comics but hasn’t been thus far...
gotg2: ayesha (leader of the sovereign, a golden skinned alien race obsessed with genetic purity), after spending most of the movie chasing the guardians for stealing some stuff, is revealed to have created an artificial being named “adam” which is presumably, adam warlock. (other stuff that is less relevant: kraglin appears to take up yondu’s mantle; the ravagers regroup and several old and obscure comic book characters are introduced [charlie-27, aleta, martinex, mainframe]; the watchers are watching things.)
far from home: j jonah jameson basically tells the whole world spider-man’s secret identity, and frames him for what happened with mysterio....making him public enemy #1. ALSO, turns out nick fury and maria hill in the movie were ACTUALLY the two skrulls from captain marvel (talos and soren) attempting to do their job, while the real fury (and presumably hill) is ... up in space on some spaceship!!!
wandavision: monica (who we can assume is photon) is called by “an old friend of [her] mother’s,” up in space, which presumably means fury, talos, or carol. ALSO, wanda sits in the middle of nowhere reading the darkhold and hears the voices of her children who.. by all accounts, should not exist.
aaaaand what we know about future movies (i’m not even going into the tv series.....):
black widow:
takes place after civil war
nat confronts a “dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past,” likely has to do with taskmaster who has apparently taken over the red room where nat was trained as an assassin
prominent new characters: yelena belova, who will take over the mantle of black widow after this; alexei shostakov aka red guardian, an ollllld marvel hero analogous to captain america except for the soviet union.
tony stark will make an appearance... SOBS
shang-chi and the legend of the ten rings:
shang-chi has never been seen in the mcu before, but he is, essentially, a superhero that is a master martial artist, and in some adaptations can also create duplicate (fake) versions of himself to confuse opponents
main villain will be the the mandarin who we have *sort of* seen before... he is the leader of a terrorist organization called “ten rings” whose main goal is to destroy world peace. brief history -- in iron man 1: one ten rings cell kidnaps tony stark and tries to force him to make weapons (he of course, makes his suit instead). stark and ten rings become enemies and fight a bunch. nat and nick fury fight them too. in iron man 3, the villain aldrich killian hires a dude to pretend to be the mandarin and claim responsibility for a bunch of stuff, but its not the ten rings or the mandarin at all. this makes the mandarin v mad and he has a dude kidnap the faker to punish him. they also briefly show up in ant-man, when a ten rings agent tries to buy the yellowjacket suit that darren cross is selling. BUT IN SHANG-CHI....... looks like we are FINALLY going to see the real mandarin after over a decade!!
the villain razor fist will also show up, he is lesser known... he has no superhuman powers but he has surgically replaced his hands (1 or 2, depending on the version) with a steel blade, and is highly skilled at hand to hand combat.
besides the presence of these characters, the only bit of plot we know is “shang-chi is drawn into the ten rings organization and forced to confront his past.” so... yeah. we don’t know much at all.
eternals:
quick explanation: the eternals are an immortal alien race who have been secretly living on earth for thousands of years. they were created by the celestials, who are most prominently in gotg2.
more entirely new characters!!! their names are: thena, who can form any weapon out of cosmic energy; gilgamesh, who can make a super strong exoskeleton out of cosmic energy; ikaris, who has superhuman strength, flies, and can project cosmic energy out his eyes; kingo, who can shoot cosmic energy projectiles from his hands; makkari, who creates sonic booms, has super speed, and is deaf; phastos, who has enhanced intelligence, and is also gay (and married with a kid!); ajak, who has healing powers; sprite, who can project illusions; sersi, who can manipulate matter; druig, who can mind control; and dane whitman (black knight), a human with a mystical sword.
regarding the plot... it seems the eternals have kind of dispersed, but have to come together again to fight the deviants, who are their “evil counterparts” (also created by the celestials, though i’m unclear on why). thena and gilgamesh have apparently been in exile, unclear why; sersi, who is posing as a museum curator, has apparently been in love with ikaris for centuries and it seems as if their love story may be central to the film; and kingo is a bollywood film star in his spare time. aaaaand that’s pretty much all we know.
directed by chloé zhao of nomadland fame!
spider-man no way home:
based on the post-credits scene in far from home, peter parker will now be known as spider-man to everyone. unclear if he’s going to be seen as a bad guy due to mysterio framing him, but i guess we’ll see!
jamie foxx is electro, and alfred molina is doctor octopus; which is VERY interesting considering they played these roles in other spider-man franchises, once again stirring up excitement for possible multiverse.
there have been *multiple* reports that andrew garfield, kirsten dunst, tobey maguire, and emma stone will be in the movie but tom holland has repeatedly denied this... so... who knows.
there are also rumors that matt murdock / daredevil (from netflix) will be in several scenes! not confirmed though.
MJ is still his girlfriend and i hope it stays that way!!
doctor strange will be featured in the movie, taking on the mentor role now that tony stark is gone :( this will be interesting as i.. haven’t really seen them interact much before. because of this inclusion some people speculate that the film may draw inspo from some comic storylines where peter’s secret identity is restored with magic.
doctor strange in the multiverse of madness:
scarlet witch is essentially co-starring!!! it’s going to be really interesting to see if they bring vision or the twins into this at all, though i’m not counting on it.
seems like mordo will be the main villain -- recall the ds1 post credits scene where he is apparently running around trying to steal people’s magic.
america chavez will make her debut!!!!!! i have no idea how this plays into anything but i am so excited!!
regarding the plot, all we really know is that strange has been researching the time stone, mordo messes with him, and this results in him accidentally unleashing “unspeakable evil.” presumably there will also be heavy involvement of the multiverse, and who knows what kind of craziness that will bring!!
initially was going to be directed by scott derrickson who did ds1; however he stepped down to being just EP due to “creative differences.” i am presuming this is because derrickson really wanted to make this more gothic and horror than disney was comfortable with. i REALLY hope they keep some of those elements though and don’t erase the idea entirely! anyway, it will be directed by sam raimi now (of evil dead and spiderman 2002 fame).
the film also reportedly ties in with the loki series (will loki show up!?) and spiderman 3 (which is obvious enough, given that strange is in that movie and those curious electro and doctor octopus castings...)
thor: love and thunder
directed by taika waititi again, hell yeah!!! and he has stated, the film will be “so over the top now in the very best way" and would make ragnarok look like a "run of the mill, very safe film" .... so.... oh god
so many great returning players!!! including.... valkyrie (now the king of new asgard), jane foster, lady sif, korg, star-lord, mantis, drax, nebula, and kraglin (takes up yondu’s mantle after he dies in gotg2)
in this movie, thor isn’t thor anymore.... it’s JANE!!! she gets cancer :( and is undergoing treatment while simultaneously being thor. i’m a little nervous how this will be handled, but i’m excited. (it’s based off an amazing comic series by jason aaron)
the big bad: gorr the god butcher, played by christian bale! the gist of it is, this dude HATES gods because nobody helped when his family was dying and in need. his weapon is “all-black the necrosword,” forged from the head of a celestial, and allows the user to create wings and fly at extreme speeds. honestly, he sounds cool as fuck.
valkyrie is going to be made canonically bisexual!!!
it will explore more of korg’s backstory, and also include... space sharks!?!?! an alien race from the comics.
taika has called the script “very romantic” so take that as you will
black panther 2
will again be directed by ryan coogler
not much is known at this point, does not have an official name
t’challa will NOT be recast (which i’m happy about) so..... honestly no idea what to expect for this one. i think we can probably expect shuri to have an expanded role. all we know so far is they will be “exploring the world of wakanda.” not clear to me how this is different from the upcoming wakanda D+ series.
tenoch huerta has reportedly been cast as a villain, but no one has any idea who. there’s also rumors that donald glover is in “informal talks” to play a role. note all of this is unconfirmed.
captain marvel 2
will be directed by nia da costa (candyman!) and written by megan mcdonnell, who is one of wandavision’s best writers!
will take place in the present day
will feature kamala khan / ms. marvel, monica rambeau / photon!!! this will be so interesting.... kamala is a huge fan of carol’s in the comics, she is her mentor/idol. the ms. marvel series will also resportedly lead into cm2. and monica, well, monica knew her when she was a little kid. wandavision implies that there’s some bad blood between carol and monica though, not sure why. maybe because carol left and never came back? (until endgame)
post-credits scene of wandavision appears to tie into this, having monica go up into space at the reqeust of her “mom’s old friend.” again, not clear who that is. this could also be a tie in to secret invasion though, so we’ll see. or both.
zawe ashton has been cast as an unknown villain... a lot of people are actually speculating that she may play rogue? which would be fascinating, as there’s a comic arc where rogue steals her powers and memories. BUT there’s still no confirmation that X-men exist in the MCU so for now i remain skeptical.
they are looking to cast a ‘john boyega’ or ‘michael b jordan’ type which makes me wonder if they are going to create a new character, a “younger” war machine to be her love interest? (note: carol and rhodey are a huge thing in comics!) carol obviously does not look her age but her and don cheadle.... that just doesn’t work. which is why i wonder.
ant-man and the wasp: quantumania
in addition to scott and hope, pretty much all the major players are returning including: luis, hank pym, janet van dyne
cassie lang has been recast with an actress 5 years older, which is really making me wonder if they are going to make her stinger in this movie! (aka one of the main young avengers)
the villain: kang the conqueror! this dude time travels. original name nate richards. in the comics, kang travels back in time to rescue his younger self (nate) from an attack that would help shape him towards a life of villainy. kang also gives him some fancy armor. his younger self actually is like, what the fuck dude? and renounces his destiny, becoming a hero. and he makes his armor look like iron man, calling himself iron lad. who is a young avenger. which also makes me wonder about cassie lang.
otherwise not much is known!
guardians of the galaxy vol. 3
james gunn is returning, i’m mixed about this...he really does *get* the guardians though.
based on the gotg2 post credits scene, i think we can assume adam warlock will be a HUGE part of this. there are multiple versions of him, some villainous and some heroic, but no idea how this is gonna turn out.
no word yet on whether thor will be involved, or if those ravagers they introduced will be involved.
fantastic four
will be directed by the spiderman guy, john watts.
otherwise we know literally nothing.
aaaaand that’s the roundup!

Old Ways, New Age Chapter 1
Summary: The Guardian order has been suddenly restored, nearly two centuries after their disappearance from the world. They emerge into the future and immediately set out to discover what has happened to the miraculous in their absence.
The last thing they expected to find was someone like Ladybug.
Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 3 | Chapter 4 | Chapter 5
Hello and welcome to my entry for @marinettemarch, which marks the first of the six prompt months that I will be doing. I’ll be posting a new chapter each week!
I hope you enjoy!
Read on Ao3
Ladybug was swinging across the city, making her way to tonight’s meet up spot for patrol with Chat Noir. Her arms moved of their own accord and her eyes stared sightlessly into the horizon. Thoughts swirled in her head as she got lost in memories that hadn’t yet been dulled by time.
Funny how quickly things could change. How they could catch you off guard, even when you were preparing for them. After all, what had all those lessons about the kwamis— - their names, their personalities, their tastes - been about, if not for her to replace herthe old master when the years caught up to him.
Then again, it hadn’t been the years that caught him, but Hawkmoth. Nothing like an unexpected attack to move the time tables along. In all the uncertainty that had followed her since that battle, there was one thing that was unshakably true.
Master Fu was gone and the duty of protecting the miracle box had fallen to Marinette.
It was a fact that ran through her head at least a few times every day, but no matter how many times it happened, it never failed to knock the wind out of her. Even now, weeks later, she’d be hit with a sudden wave of sadness in the middle of class that she wouldn’t be able to explain to anyone.
Even her partner, Chat Noir, couldn’t really understand the full weight of what she had to deal with now. As much as she wanted to share with him, she had inherited more than just magical artifacts and responsibility from Master Fu - she’d inherited some of his caution, his paranoia. As far as she was concerned, she could bring Chat Noir into the fold slowly. However, she could never go back once she did,and she wasn’t ready to open up. Not yet.
Which was good for safety. Though not so great for her feelings of loneliness.
Nonetheless, her heart felt lighter when she saw the silhouette of her partner outlined against the setting sun, sitting on the roof’s edge. Secrets or not, they were still a team. One day, she knew she would be willing to share everything with him. Yet that day was not today.
She landed on the rooftop with a grace that she only had in the spots, and although she was sure she hadn’t made noise, his cat ears twitched and he turned toward her. The moment his eyes landed on her, he grinned.
“And just when I was starting to think you’d fur-gotten me.”
“With jokes that bad, I almost wish I had.” She raised an eyebrow, a smirk tugging at her lips. “But what can I say? I’m a glutton for pun-ishment.”
Chat let out a tender sigh, putting his hands over his heart and laying on his back. “I love it when you pun with me, m’lady.”
“Don’t turn into a kitten puddle just yet, chaton.” She stood over him and nudged him in the shoulder with her foot. Their eyes locked as she leaned over him, her hands on her hips. “We’ve still got a lot of ground to cover before this patrol is over.”
“It is admirable that you two adhere to something so strict a routine as a patrol.”
Ladybug tensed up, her hand on her yoyo as she whirled toward the voice. A man was standing on the other side of the roof. He wouldn’t have looked out of place in one of her mother’s Chinese period dramas - from the archaic yellow robes to the shaved head - and he looked every bit the part of one of those Buddhist monks. Unlike them, however, he clutched a sturdy staff in one hand. From the iron caps on the ends and the fact he wasn’t leaning on it, she assumed it was more a weapon than a walking stick.
“That bodes well for the discipline that may have been instilled in you.”
The stranger frowned as Chat Noir sprung to his feet and pulled out his baton in one swift motion, crouching as he extended it into a full staff.
“Although, clearly, there is still room for improvement.”
Spinning her yoyo into a shield, she watched the stranger carefully. “Who are you?”
“And why are you so interested in ‘discipline’?” The hostility in Chat’s voice surprised her, but she pushed it aside for later.
“My apologies.” He raised one hand to his chest, palm pointing to the side and bowed his head. “I am Master Namdak of the Guardian oOrder.”
“The Guardian oOrder…?” Chat Noir said slowly, his stance relaxing as his eyes widened. “You mean Master Fu wasn’t the last one?”
“‘Master’ Fu?” Confusion tinged Namdak’s voice. “I know of no master by that name. Although…” He cupped his chin with one hand, eyes narrowed as they stared past the heroes. “I do recall a young acolyte by that name. And he had been the one in charge of your miracle box.”
“I heard that your monastery had returned, but I didn’t expect to see you here in Paris.” Ladybug caught her yoyo in the palm of her hand and settled into a more casual pose. “I was pretty sure it would have taken you longer to react to suddenly returning after like almost two hundred years.”
Namdak smiled, the indulgent smirk of a grandfather. “When you are custodians of artifacts that are strange and powerful - such as the miraculous - things like this become the new mundane.”
“That’s great!” Chat slammed his fist into his palm, a wild grin on his face. “Does that mean you’re here to help us?”
“In time, most likely.” Namdak nodded. “But for now, we are simply taking stock - establishing new contacts and retrieving lost artifacts.”
Unbidden, suspicion welled inside her.
“So what brings you here, then?” Ladybug’s eyes narrowed ever so slightly. “What’s your mission here? Contact or retrieval?”
Master Namdak continued smiling, but there was a hollowness to it, as if he took no joy in this conversation any longer.
“Retrieval.” Both hands settled on his staff - non-threateningly for now, though Ladybug didn’t fail to notice the tension in the air. “We know that you are in possession of the miracle box, chosen of Creation. All miraculous must be returned to the fold.”
Chat Noir backed up, closing his hand over his ring and shooting glares at Namdak. “No way are we letting you takesteal our miraculous! We were chosen for this!”
“Chosen by a renegade who never completed his training and yet deigned to call himself by the highest rank of our order.” Anger and frustration had seeped into the master’s voice and he calmed himself after taking a deep and soothing breath. “I realize this comes as a great surprise to you, but this is for the greater good, I promise.”
“If the greater good means sacrificing all of Paris to Hawkmoth,” Ladybug snapped, hands on her hips and glaring down the old monk, “then it isn’t a good that I want to be a part of!”
There was a long pause as they stared at each other.
“...Hawkmoth?”
“Did you seriously come to Paris without even trying to find out why two miraculous users were activated by your order?” Chat crossed his arms and snorted. “Talk about making a monk-ey out of yourself.”
“We can sense the presence of the miracle box, not all that is inside it.” Namdak frowned disapprovingly at Chat Noir. “How could we have known?”
“You knew enough to find out where we start patrols,” Chat countered. “Looks like you just got lazy after stalking us for a while.”
“Hawkmoth - and his henchman, Mayura - are two villains terrorizing this city,” Ladybug said, stepping forward just when it seemed Namdak was about to respond to Chat. “They are the holders of the Butterfly and Peacock miraculous, respectively. From what Master Fu told me,” she said, placing extra emphasis on the title, “they were the ones who found those miraculous long after the fall of the Guardian oOrder.”
Namdak stared at them for a long moment before turning away, his hand rising to his chin once again.
“This… changes things.”
“Good.” Ladybug smiled. “Maybe now that you understand what we’re going through, you can-”
“The Guardians will leave you with two miraculous, while returning the others to the custody of the Order. Two miraculous to fight two miraculous - this is fitting.”
“No!” Ladybug threw her hands in the air. “No, this is not ‘fitting’! Do you not know what abilities their miraculous hold? We’ve needed support from other miraculous from time to time and taking that option away from us will just make it all the harder to beat them.”
“All the more reason for my next suggestion.” Master Namdak pointed his staff at Chat. “He will need to surrender his miraculous.
Chat Noir paled as Ladybug put herself between him and the Guardian.
“That is not happening. Chat Noir is my partner and—”
Namdak shook his head. “You misunderstand me. He may have another from the miracle box, but it is the height of foolishness to allow the two miraculous of reality to be within arm’s reach of such a villain.”
Ladybug put her arms on her hips. “So, what? Now you’re banking on us failing to stop Hawkmoth? If he wins, then you’re just going to have a greater problem on your hands.”
“A problem that would be much lessened without him having the ability to make wishes come true and a small army of miraculous champions,” Namdak replied, a distant quality to his eyes that made it seem like he was staring at another time entirely. “If you are as skilled as you seem to believe, then you will be able to hold your own until the Guardians can return to aid you.”
“No deal. I’m not about to let your paranoia doom my entire city.” She pulled out her yoyo and spun it into a shield. Behind her, she heard Chat Noir take his baton in his hands. “Now go back and tell the Guardians that we don’t want them here.”
“I will leave, but I will return.” Master Namdak took a couple steps back, all without taking his eyes off of them. “You can count on that.”
She noticed too late that he had reached behind his back and tossed down a few clay pellets. When they hit the ground, a thick smoke blotted out all the meager light and both of them were wracked by coughing fits. By the time the smoke cleared a few moments later, he was gone.
“Well,” Chat said, between the last few coughing fits. “That wasn’t ominous at all.”
“Yeah… Think we did the right thing?”
“No doubt about it, LB. Why should we tie one hand behind our backs just ‘cause some old geezers want to do inventory?”
“Well, the miraculous are technically theirs.”
“So are the butterfly and peacock, but you didn’t see him hitting up Hawkmoth for donations first, did you?”
“You’ve got a point there.” Ladybug sighed. “And for a minute, I was hoping we were about to have a new friend in this war.”
Chat Noir pulled her into a half-hug. “Don’t worry, m’lady. At least I’m always here for you.”
“At least there’s that,” Ladybug said with a smile. “Still want to do our patrol?”
“Nothing I want to do more. Lead the way, bugaboo!”

Entropy (The Owl House)
Summary: As a witch, Eda thrives on unpredictability and chaos. Unfortunately, so does her curse.
Word count: 1734
Warnings: mild violence, but it’s no darker than the show itself
AO3: archiveofourown.org/works/22518526
The first of what I expect will eventually become many Owl House fics from me! This story is set a few months before Luz’s arrival to the demon realm, but also has some big spoilers for Episode 4, so beware!
***
Eda believes that unpredictability is a witch’s best friend. Magic should always be a little wild, a little feral, a little chaotic, a fickle force of nature that keeps its users on its toes. Predictable magic is weak magic, diluted magic, practically homeopathic magic that’s left with nary a spark of what once made it so fierce and formidable.
This is the philosophy that’s made Eda the most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles. It’s the philosophy that’s helped her dodge imprisonment for decades. It’s even the reason why against her better judgement, she invited a scrawny little demon with an extreme superiority complex into her home — and as loathe as she is to admit it to King’s face, the little wannabe tyrant has brightened up more of her days than she’d ever expected.
Adherence to a status quo leads only to stagnant magic. Routine makes the bile in Eda’s heart run dry. Variety is the spice of life, and despite all the challenges she’s had to overcome — or perhaps even because of them — Eda is living.
But the most potent curses are always the most ironic ones. The ones that weave themselves not out of foreign magic, but out of the victim’s own nature, turning strengths into weaknesses and prides into secret shames.
In Eda the Owl Lady’s case, this means that her curse is very wild, very feral, very chaotic, and never predictable. When the feathers begin to sprout and she feels the telltale pinpricks of quills in her hair, when her fangs begin to elongate and her stomach makes its appetite known through bloodcurdling growls, she only has a matter of minutes at best before she loses herself — only a few minutes, at best, to find her elixir and stave off her transformation.
And if there’s no elixir in reach to be found, well… her last few moments of lucidity are best spent ensuring that no one will be around to see her in this state, both for her sake and theirs.
***
Eda is unceremoniously tossed into a Conformatorium cell, unable to get to her feet before the cold iron anti-magic gate slides down in front of her. The gaps between the rungs look plenty wide enough for King to slip through, which means either the guards haven’t noticed him shuddering and trying to hide in Eda’s arms, or they just don’t care enough about whether he escapes to bother securing him better.
“The Warden will be seeing you shortly, Owl Lady!” one guard barks from behind his beaked black mask. “I’m sure the two of you will have plenty to discuss!”
As their jailers leave, King wriggles out of Eda’s arms. “Are they gone?” he meekly asks, poking his snout out between the bars and peering down the hallway.
“Yes, but not for long,” Eda grunts as she attempts to draw a small spell circle in the air. A few sparks surround her fingertip, but fizzle out before the circle is complete. “Drat. They learned their lesson from the last time I broke out of this place.”
“Then looks like it’s the King of Demons’ turn to save the day!” King declares, raising a tiny fist. “And what better place to find recruits for my army of darkness than here, in this cesspool of sinister machinations and forbidden black magics!”
He pokes his head into the adjacent cell, in which a demon with foot-long pointed nails leans against a wall. “You there! You look like a foul, black-hearted creature if I’ve ever seen one! How about you join my prison riot?”
“Are you joking? There’s nothing foul or black-hearted about overthrowing an unjust government institution that misuses its authority,” the demon scoffs, continuing to polish their nails. “Come back and talk to me again if you think of something that’s really evil.”
Muttering to himself and shaking his head, King trots over to the prisoner on the opposite side of Eda’s cell. “How about you? You’ve got a lot of life left ahead of you — do you really want to spend it all in a prison?”
The baby in the cell ignores him, preoccupied with repeatedly stabbing a knife into the floor.
King trudges back to Eda’s side, head hanging. Very quietly, he asks: “Eda, what if I’m just not cut out for demonic tyranny?”
“Oh, don’t be silly.” Eda rubs his head. “I’ve never seen a demon more power-hungry than you are, you evil little thing. And hey, it’s not all bad — now you know exactly what types of demons not to recruit for your army of darkness!”
King’s mood immediately lightens. “You’re right, I just need to look on the bright side of things! Like how at least you didn’t have your staff with you today, so it’s not going to end up locked away in the warden’s contraband pile!”
Eda tries to retort that if she’d had her staff, she never would’ve gotten captured in the first place — but her throat has gone dry. After all, she hasn’t had anything to drink in hours.
Why do the torches in the hallway suddenly hurt to look at?
“All they actually confiscated was that orange potion you were drinking,” King goes on, completely oblivious. “Good thing they didn’t take anything important, ha!”
Eda runs a hand through her hair. Her fingers graze quills, sprouting from her scalp.
No! Not here, not now! Not in front of —
“King, you have to leave,” she hisses, falling to her knees and clutching her chest. “Squirm through the bars and run. I’ll catch up later.”
“Are you serious? I’m not leaving you!” King exclaims. “I can’t fly back home unless you carry me!”
He’s so precious.
So stubborn.
such dumb, easy prey
“I know a way to break out of here, but it’s — it’s — you’ll just get caught in the crossfire if you stay.” Eda claps one hand over her mouth, hiding her extending fangs, and with her free hand, picks up King by the scruff of his neck and stuffs him through one of the holes in the iron grate. “The guards will all be distracted in just another minute or two, so don’t waste your chance! Run and meet me back at the Owl House!”
no, little demon
come back inside, little squirrel creature
Halfway across the Conformatorium’s main chamber, a door creaks open, and King finally takes it as his cue to bolt.
so bright
too bright
can’t see
kill the lights
“Eda the Owl Lady!” Warden Wrath’s voice echoes. “I’ve been waiting so long for this moment…”
new demon
bigger demon?
bigger meal
Warden Wrath is wholly unprepared for the explosion of claws and feathers that tears through iron like it’s parchment, then barrels out of the Owl Lady’s cell with a scream that would cause a banshee to lose their voice for a week. The monster rakes a clawed hand across the wall, shredding half a dozen torches into tinder with a single blow — then turns to face Wrath, baring her fangs and grinning.
Wrath has read of the bloodthirsty strixes, the owlishly metamorphosed victims of potent curses — but he’s never encountered one face-to-face, never stared into these black eyes that are simultaneously so empty and so cunning. A lesser warden might turn tail and flee, but Wrath knows his duty.
Strixes are unnatural. Improper. Unpredictable. Feral.
Unsuitable for society, but a worthy opponent for him.
He charges, swinging a scythe-hand, and Eda effortly catches it with her fangs. She swings Wrath around like a toy, sending him careening into the wall — but he has a trick up his sleeve, and he transforms his hand into a hammer that pries Eda’s jaws open before she can extricate her teeth from his flesh.
Wrath laughs as Eda recoils, as she spits out dark ichor and shards of shattered yellow fangs. The acidic ichor sizzles as it lands on the cobblestone floor, and its ghastly smell reaches Wrath even through the herb-stuffed beak of his mask.
Seeing their warden stagger backwards from the pool of acid, two guards rush Eda — a mistake, they realize a few seconds too late. They add a degree of entropy to the battle that the strix exploits, whirling around and delivering two powerful kicks from her rear legs — and before Wrath can even admonish his inferiors, they’ve been flung on top of him, their heavy metal armor pinning him to the ground.
Eda licks her lips, advancing slowly, savoring the moment. A tiny drop of icor dribbles down her chin from the corner of her mouth, and her batlike ears twitch with delight.
Wrath’s arms are pinned, and any sudden shapeshifting movement will surely provoke the strix to lunge before he can get an attack off. Unable to remove his mask, yet left with no other option, he points his head at Eda as best as he can, and opens his mouth.
As the spout of flame incinerates the likeliness of a raven beak and spills out to fill the hall, Eda screeches and extends her wings so quickly that a sonic boom tears though the Conformatorium. Cast-iron gates are shattered, cobblestone is pulverized into rubble, and leagues of demons and witches run free.
Nearly overwhelmed by the stampede, Wrath staggers to his feet just in time to see the strix take flight, and soar out the skylight at the top of the prison dome.
***
Eda awakens beneath a tree, scattered patches of feathers still present where the early-morning sunlight hasn’t yet crept through the leaves to dapple her skin. As she collects herself and steps out into the direct sunlight, her transformation fully reverts — though her stomach still grumbles for flesh and blood. She’ll just have to get home quickly and quell it with an elixir, instead.
When she walks into the Owl House, King almost immediately springs into her arms and breaks down sobbing. “I was so worried! I ran like you said but I heard so much screaming and I saw something get lit on fire and I wasn’t sure if that was what you meant to do or —”
“I never do exactly what I mean to do,” Eda tells him, forcing a smile. “It wouldn’t be very wild and unpredictable of me if I did, would it?”
She sets King down on the couch. “But you can always count on one thing — I’m never leaving home without my magic staff again.”

As an official member of the C.D.D.S. (a.k.a. Chocobro Daemon Destroyers Squad, as dubbed by Prompto), Gladio has a pretty flexible relationship with the word “normal.” However, even he has to admit that nothing about the current investigation is anywhere near the realm of normal.
First there’d been that weird purple envelope with the heavy wax seal. Inside was a letter from one Ardyn Izunia, written in flowing script and kindly soliciting their services at Zegnautus Keep—an old castle, located somewhere in the distant mountains of Niflheim. This was also weird. Sure, the C.D.D.S. may have been well-known exorcists in Lucis, but they weren’t exactly world-renowned. On top of that, Izunia claimed to be an acquaintance of Lord Regis, yet Noct didn’t know him. Gladio didn’t know him. Neither did Ignis, or any of Lord Regis’s old acquaintances. And when Prompto did a websearch, it came up empty.
That probably should have been a sign, Gladio thinks, striding through the castle halls. He glances at the giant portrait of Izunia smirking down at him, framed by cobwebs and moldering tapestries. Its eyes seem to follow Gladio as he passes, its smile shriveling in the shadows. The real Izunia had been just as disconcerting when they’d met him. But Noct had been in a slump since his father’s death. Noct had been depressed. That meant Ignis and Prompto were depressed too, and this seemed like a good chance to get away from it all. Besides, Noct was curious. He wanted to know more about this mysterious acquaintance of his father. So they stuck around, and when they were unexpectedly joined by the Nox Fleuret siblings, who Izunia had also commissioned—well, they figured the more the merrier and tried to be on guard.
What catchy name will Prompto give this particular case, Gladio wonders? Something about hubris, maybe. Something about old gods. Before anything specific can crystallize, Gladio is already at the set of massive, iron-laid doors. They groan as he yanks them open and steps into the castle library.
Ignis is still exactly where Gladio left him—hunched over a desk, hidden behind a stack of books. “How are they?” he asks, not even bothering to look up.
“Stable,” Gladio answers, “at least for now. The curse on Ravus is spreading. Luna still isn’t responding. Cindy’s looking after them.”
“And still no sign from Noctis?”
“The planchette hasn’t moved in the last half hour.”
“Dammit!” Ignis slams the book closed and tosses it aside. He makes a steeple with his hands, pinching the bridge of his nose. “We should never have come here.”
Gladio draws up behind Ignis’s chair. In the dim light, he can see loose papers full of obscure runes, time-weathered pages penned in tightly-scrawled ink. If this were a normal gig, they’d have wrapped everything up by now. They’d have subdued the spirit, and if that wasn’t possible, exorcised it. The client would be shoving fistfuls of money at them and weeping tears of joy. Ignis would have food on the grill. Gladio would be setting up camp for the night. Prompto would be complaining about EMF detectors and other technical jargon while uploading the latest footage to their blog. And Noct would have been loafing around, watching all of them with a contented smile, asking when dinner would be ready.
Gladio gives Ignis’s shoulder a squeeze. “What’s done is done—no use beating ourselves up over it. We’ve gotta keep our heads clear if we're gonna help Noct.”
Ignis sighs heavily. “You’re right. I’m sorry, Gladio. I lost myself for a moment.”
“Don’t sweat it. Now are you sure you haven't found anything?”
Ignis drops his hands to leaf through a book. “Nothing about those marks on Ravus’s arm, or what could be strong enough to entrap the most powerful medium in Tenebrae.”
 “What about the portal?”
“No definitive answers, but nothing that contradicts our initial theories, either. Noct and Prompto are most likely caught between the two realms.”
“Which means Luna’s still our best shot at reaching them. Damn.”
“About that . . .” Ignis shifts in his seat, turning to face Gladio fully. “There is one thing—an old tome, written in Solheim runes.”
Gladio perks up. “You think there’s something in there that could help us get to Noct?”
“Possibly. There is . . . a spell.” Ignis removes a book from the stack. It’s dark and fat. Any markings on the cover have been completely worn away. “A ritual, to be precise. It enables the caster to send spiritual energy to a soul trapped between Eos and the spirit realm.”
“All right! I knew we could count on you, Iggy.”
Gladio claps him on the shoulder. Ignis slumps under the weight. “I’m afraid it’s not that simple.”
There’s something about Ignis’s expression that Gladio can’t put his finger on, but he doesn’t have time to parse it. "Which components are we missing? Anything we can substitute?"
"We have all the necessary items. It’s just, this spell—well, it requires two people."
Gladio nods. "Cool, so we'll tag team it out."
Ignis winces. "I really wouldn't be so quick to say that if I were you."
"Why? Does it require a sacrifice?"
"Of sorts.”
Gladio raises a brow. Ignis closes his eyes. When he opens them, it’s with steely resolution.
“It's a book of sex magic, Gladio."
 ---
It takes less than five minutes to move all the furniture, less than ten to finish drawing the array around the bed. After all, Ignis isn’t the high witch of the Lucis Caelum clan for nothing. He lights the candles with a snap of his fingers while Gladio sets out the bowls of sylleblossom petals and animal fat—six in total, one for each of the Astrals. Then both of them step into the array.
Gladio removes his jacket. He suppresses a shiver as Ignis draws his thumb along his chest and abdomen, leaving behind a maroon sigil. He stays very still as Ignis unbuttons his own shirt, and when it’s his turn to copy the sigil, he tries very hard not to stare at Ignis’s pecs, or the freckles on his stomach.
Ignis clears his throat. His entire face is red, from his neck to the roots of his hair. “Next we present the offerings. If you don’t mind, I can go first.”
“Be my guest.”
Ignis reaches into the pocket of his trousers. “This pendant was given to me by Lord Regis when I was still a child, in honor of my appointment as the high witch’s apprentice. I have since kept it with me out of respect for the Lucis Caelum line as well as for good fortune. I offer it today as a token of gratitude and good will to the Astrals and to the elements, that they may grant Lord Noctis their aid.”
He sets the pendant in one of the bowls of sylleblossoms (Gladio definitely does not admire the muscles in his shoulders and back when he bends over).
Gladio reaches into their satchel of supplies to remove his own offering. “I brought cup noodles.”
Ignis stares at him.
“Um.” Gladio shifts uneasily. “These delicious noodles are for the Astrals, so that—”
“Just put it down,” Ignis snaps. “In one of the bowls.” He waits until Gladio is finished. When he speaks again, his voice is somewhat softer. “Gladio, before we go any further, are you sure about this?”
Gladio squares his shoulders. "You said it should be the two people closest to the target of the spell. Out of all those conscious and present, that's you and me."
"I know, but you shouldn’t feel obligated. There may be other ways. I could keep looking. I could—”
"Ignis. I want to do this."
Ignis exhales deeply, with a sort of resignation. "Very well."
"What about you?” Gladio asks. “Are you good? If not, me and Cindy are pretty tight. She hasn't known Noct for that long, but maybe if I talk to her, she and I could—"
"No.”
The response is forceful—loud, even. Ignis pauses to adjust his glasses.
“The principal caster should be an experienced magic user,” he continues calmly, “which is me. And if it has to be anyone, I'd rather it be the two of us."
Gladio decides not to read too much into that last statement, but he does feel a little smug.
"So," he asks, "what next?"
"Eager, are we?" Ignis remarks dryly. "Just stand there, for now. And follow my lead."
He turns to retrieve two goblets from the bedside table and hands one to Gladio. The liquid is fragrant with cloves and other herbs. Next, Ignis links their arms together, so that they're each holding the goblet before the other's lips.
"Repeat after me," Ignis says. "Ic bescence þe mīn ferþ . . ."
Gladio repeats, understanding only every other word. But he trusts Ignis, so when the goblet tilts toward his lips, he drinks until it's drained.
"Now then." Ignis's entire torso is flushed now, and Gladio is sure it has little to do with the wine. "I suppose this is the part where we go to bed."
"If that's what the spell says," Gladio concedes.
The mattress creaks as they both take a seat on the edge. Ignis perches very stiffly, arms and legs drawn close to his body.
"So." Gladio leans back on one hand, stretches his legs—pretends to be much more relaxed than he really feels. "How specific are the details of this spell?"
"Any act of intimacy will suffice," Ignis says quietly. "So long as the fertile essences are spilled by both parties."
Well then, Gladio thinks. It shouldn't hurt to look, right? He is, after all, an expert in looking at Ignis—though mostly through stolen glances, or carefully neutral gazes. Now he lets his eyes roam freely. Ignis is slender without his shirt—his shoulders broad and sinewy, his waist narrow. Myriad freckles and moles pattern his skin. Gladio wants to reach out and run his hands over every single one. Instead, his eyes snap up to Ignis's face. Ignis stares back, expression inscrutable. He leans forward, and Gladio inches toward him, arm raising instinctively as he prepares to—
"I've never done this before," Ignis blurts.
Gladio falls back. He blinks, then scratches his head with a chuckle. "Yeah, this is my first occult sex ritual, too."
"No, I mean, I've never done this with anyone, ever—being intimate."
Oh.
"Is that a problem?" Ignis presses.
"Of course not," Gladio says. "I'm just . . ."
Ignis's lips curve in a rueful smile. "Surprised? The role of the supreme high witch doesn't allow much time for romantic escapades. Unfortunately, I'm not very experienced. I hope it won't be too unenjoyable for you."
He says this with his typical flat, sarcastic affect, but there's something tender underneath. Something dark and edgy.
"I'm sure I'll enjoy it," Gladio assures him. "You're perfect, Iggy. Everything you do is perfect. But are you really okay with this? Kind of an intense first time."
"I'm okay with it. Actually, I . . ."
He pauses, gaze darting to the floor. Gladio waits with entirely feigned patience. By the time Ignis looks back up, his entire body feels like it's on fire.
"I've always wanted it to be you," Ignis says.
A raspy, trembling breath escapes Gladio's lips. With it goes the last few tattered shreds of his composure. "Iggy. Fuck, I—I'm gonna take such good care of you. I want to make you feel good, Iggy."
Ignis takes Gladio's hands and guides them to his waist. "I know," he says. "I trust you."

Thanks to @dragonnan for this tag, too!
Name: for the sake of this, Red
Fandom: So many...sooo many...but as far as writing? Lucifer and Magnum, PI the reboot dominate the sheer numbers, but I also dipped my toes in the MCU with a couple one shots, Agents of SHIELD, the 100, Doctor Who, Common Law, Merlin, White Collar...Iron Fist/Daredevil. Probably others, but that’s without looking.
Where you post: AO3 and fanfic.net. I definitely appreciate both crowds, but I probably read more now on AO3, but I post simultaneously to both accounts.
Most popular one shot: Only Human in the Lucifer fandom, which was actually the first exchange gift I ever did.
Most Popular Multi-Chapter Story: Damnatio Memoriae, also Lucifer fandom. Probably the first fic I ever wrote that gained any level of popularity, and now it’s become this boogeyman in my writing closet because I just have one chapter to finish it and wrap up a 140k word epic, but I kinda don’t want to see it go, and have been staring at it for like 2 years at this point debating going back and editing the note saying I was gonna do one more chapter, or just finally give one last one.
Favourite Story You Wrote: Oooohh....hmm. That’s a toughie. Because like most, I have a favorite within a fandom. Like Damnatio is forever going to be my baby. I should post at some point how that story was actually SUPPOSED to go, and then it developed a life of it’s own and awwwaaaaay we went. I love Running Up That Hill for Agents of SHIELD which is one massive fix it fic because I was so blindingly enraged by what they did with Ward. I love Icarus in the teeny tiny Deception fandom because it’s the first time I really tried to write a dissociate episode and I kind of love how it turned out, and I love Wrong Side of Heaven in the Magnum PI fandom because it’s the first story I haven’t had some level of fantasy or sci fi to fall back on, and it’s a topic near and dear to me from my military service (and it is ALSO turning out to be a massive fix it fic and an excuse to write without the main female character in the show who I have come to despise).
Story You Were Nervous to Post: I’m ALWAYS a bit anxious when I post, period. But probably Wrong Side, just because I have so much invested in it, I want to convey what being a POW of the Taliban would actually be like, instead of glossing over it like it was a minor inconvenience like the show has.
How You Choose Your Titles: With very little thought. Icarus was from a random comment in the story about soaring too high, Damnatio was an episode title from Teen Wolf, and I also tend to just pick one word titles. Sometimes I regret the titles I pick later, but eh. Not enough to change them.
Do You Outline: Not really. And I’m kinda glad I don’t, because my stories have veered violently and wonderfully away from their original plots. Damnatio would’ve been 10 chapters and very cut and dry, no mystery to it; Running would’ve ended the second that Fitz and Ward were rescued...however. That being said, I have heavily plotted out Wrong Side, because I have written it incredibly out of order, AND I don’t have the benefit of Magic existing to wrap up what I don’t want to think about.
Complete (Stats): Ugh. Does this mean complete stats or stats on completed works?
41 Completed works (some one shots, some multi chaptered)
27 multi-chapter stories
 28 one shots
14 incomplete (I have intentions to finish all of them but some will take considerably longer)
I don’t want to consider the projects I have from original works or fanfic that will never see the light of day because it’s in the early thousands.
And because I am lazy - copy and pasted stats from AO3

In Progress (Actively Writing): Wrong Side of Heaven and Bad Things Happen (Magnum, PI 2018), Damnatio Memoriae and Cecidit Angelus (Lucifer)
Coming Soon/Not Yet Started/Unpublished:
Okay full disclosure, the following list contains stories that I wouldn’t categorize as “coming soon”.  I am uncertain when these will actually make it to AO3 and my writing workload it enormous right now.  Still, I AM excited by these stories and would love to eventually share them!
Untitled Iron Fist/Daredevil crossover that’s mostly in plotting stages where IGH has captured both Danny and Matt.
Untitled Prodigal Son story that I kinda want to get out there before I’m either confirmed right or wrong that has to do with Malcolm’s father actively grooming him to be a serial killer just like him and that’s the woman who’s in the box that he keeps having nightmares about, his first ‘victim’.
Lucifer fic of no title that is a series of one shots with Lucifer and Chloe being advocates/law enforcement for the supernatural in LA (selkie gets her coat stolen by a stalker, they have to go retrieve it kind of thing)
Untitled GOTG fic for @rohanrider3 about people being after Peter for his Celestial side and I rip off my favorite tropes of ‘fun character in peril turns out to have some rage issues’ from FMA and Avatar the Last Airbender.
Do You Accept Prompts: Sure. Not a lot of people submit them, but when I asked for people to participate in ‘choose your own adventure’ style for fics, the audience has entertained my lunacy and given good ideas, and they respond to Bad Things Happen Bingo prompt requests, but other than that....not a lot of people send me prompts out of the blue (FYI, I really like them, though sometimes I’m just slow at filling them).
Upcoming Story You Are Most Excited to Write: Wrong Side and Unnamed Prodigal Son fic, hands down.
Tagging: @rohanrider3, @beguilewritesstuff, @ariaadagio, @amandagaelic, @waitingforthestarstofall, and anyone else who’d like to take a stab at this :)

Ro
Tumblr media
“Ro-Man quickpaint” © deviantArt user Taclobanon, accessed at his gallery here
[Robot Monster is perhaps my favorite B-movie, and I wanted to do right by Ro-Man. Of course, he hardly seems a robot, both in terms of being mostly gorilla suit and the emotions that get the better of him. So I made the ro’s mechanics a riff on the PFRPG android.]
Ro This hulking creature resembles a mighty bipedal ape, except for its head, which is a metallic dome crowned with a pair of antennae. A faceplate set into the dome reveals that the face is a hollow shell.
The ro are a race of artificial conquerors. They are made, not born, in elaborate creation forges on a distant world. The process of using these forges is expensive, however, and the ro are few in number. Conjecture is that they were created to be soldiers for an alien empire, but they overthrew their masters and now serve their own sinister ends.
Properly working, a ro is an emotionless killing machine. They are immune to radiation and can release it from their own bodies in short but lethal blasts. Their preferred strategy is to cripple foes with radiation before finishing the job with crushing fists and bolts of electricity fired from their antennae. The ro are a technologically advanced species, and they may be equipped with powerful technological weapons or devices.
The ro are similar to androids, and may share a common origin. They may take any android racial feat. Those with the Empathy feat are incredibly rare, as their understanding of the needs and emotions of other creatures means they often pursue their own agendas. These renegade ros are typically killed by a Guidance ro as soon as they are discovered.
Guidance Ro The Guidance ros are the leaders of the ro race, and they possess powers over space and time. Guidance ros oversee the efforts of ordinary ros and help them in combat, augmenting their powers with bolstering magic and summoned primeval creatures. A Guidance ro is a ro with the advanced simple template that may use the following spell-like abilities: 3/day—haste, slow (DC 17); 1/day—interplanetary teleport, summon monster VII (dinosaurs or megafauna only). A Guidance ro is CR 12.
Ro           CR 11 XP 12,800 LE Large monstrous humanoid Init +5; Senses darkvision 60 ft., Perception +15 Defense AC 25, touch 11, flat-footed 23 (-1 size, +2 Dex, +14 natural) hp 150 (12d10+84) Fort +10, Ref +10, Will +10; +4 vs. mind-influencing, poison and stun Immune disease, emotion effects, exhaustion, fatigue, fear, radiation, sleep effects Defensive Abilities constructed, fortification (50%); Weakness emotionless Offense Speed 30 ft. All creatures in the area must succeed a DC 22 Fortitude save or be affected by high radiation (see below). A ro may use this ability three times per day, but must wait 1d4 rounds between uses.High radiation—poison; save Fort DC 22; initial effect 2d4 Con drain; secondary effect 1d6 Str damage a day; cure 2 consecutive saves. Any Str damage taken after 0 Str is reached becomes Con drain instead. The save DC is Constitution based. Combined Arms (Ex) When making a full attack, a ro can make all its melee natural weapon attacks plus its ranged integrated weapon attacks. Constructed (Ex) For the purposes of effects targeting creatures by type (such as a ranger's favored enemy and bane weapons), ros count both as monstrous humanoids and as constructs. Ros gain a +4 racial bonus on all saving throws against mind-affecting effects, paralysis, poison, and stun effects. They are not subject to fatigue or exhaustion, and are immune to disease and sleep effects. Emotionless (Ex) Ros can never gain morale bonuses and are immune to fear effects and emotion effects. They have problems processing emotions properly, and thus take a -4 penalty on Sense Motive checks. Integrated Arc Rifle (Ex) A ro can make an attack with its arc rifle as a standard action. Treat this as a ranged touch attack with a range of 150 feet and 10 range increments that deals 2d6 points of electricity damage. The ro treats this as a natural weapon and cannot make iterative attacks with it. An integrated weapon can be targeted with spells and effects that target manufactured weapons, but cannot be harvested when the ro dies. A ro does not provoke attacks of opportunity when using its arc rifle in melee. Nanite Surge (Ex) A ro's body is infused with nanites. Once per day as an immediate action, an android can cause their nanites to surge, granting them a bonus equal to 3 + the ro’s Hit Dice (+15 for the average ro) on any one d20 roll; this ability must be activated before the roll is made.

A Choir of Weapons Verse 2
Another set of weapons, this time I have some foresight and time to get more than a dismal 4 weapons in.
Daikemi Windblade: A relic blade from another world called Daikem. The windblade looks like a Dao sword, inscribed with golden wind art all along the sides. The windblade feels almost weightless, and perfectly balanced for every user. They say the wielder of this weapon can control the winds and are much lighter on their feet, giving them the perfect footing.
Stats:
One handed
damage: 1d8 slashing
Light
When the wielder of this weapon makes a successful melee hit with this weapon, after resolving the damage the user may immediately move up to 15 feet, but must be within 5 feet of the target they hit when ending. Additionally, as a free action the wielder may attempt to shove a target they hit in the opposite direction of them after moving if they chose to. Moving when from this weapons ability does not trigger attack of opportunity.
Traitors Hate: A weapon that radiates evil, a dagger made of an intense red colored crystal, making it look like fragile glass, yet this weapon is anything but. While being a dagger, it looks more like a wicked sharp shard of crystal glass. This weapon makes the user feel uneasy, and those who hold it know that terrible things were done with this weapon. Its origins are unknown, but seems to always find its way to the right hands.
Stats:
light, this weapon does no damage. Instead, the user may stab an allied, but unsuspecting sentient creature. This immediately kills the allied creature if the weapon hits. Then, the wielder involuntarily stabs themself with the weapon, immediately killing them too. Then, their turn ends, and both characters transform into one ascended being, with near godlike powers. The initiative order starts back at the top of initiative with the ascended, and also have an additional turn when the turn for the creature that used traitors hate would be. If two player characters are one ascended, they each get a turn. Each form is different depending on the alignment and race. The ascended’s ability Score is equal to the combined total of both creatures individual scores, then doubled, along with proficiency bonus and skills. They have any weapon(s) they choose, and can cast any spell from the list of spells they would have had access to as if they were level 20. The ascended lasts only 1 minute, or until combat is ended, and then they cease to exist. Characters affected in this way are permanently killed, and cannot for any reason be resurrected or revived. After the Ascended dies, traitors hate disappears.
Scythe: The simple scythe is a tool turned weapon. Oftentime used by the angry peasantry and farmers in times of crisis, a scythe when used by trained warrior is a dangerous and terrifying implement.
Stats:

Damage: 2d4 slashing
Harvestman: The Harvestman is the scythe made for war. Oftentimes used by cavalry regiments, holding their harvestmen high to instill fear. This weapon is much heavier, and while retaining the shape of the scythe, the handle is made with heavy metals to give it a better swing. The blade is also wicked sharp, and easily rends flesh.
Stats:

Damage: 2d6 slashing
Counts as a polearm.
Boltshot Rifle: A masterfully crafted bolt throwing weapon. It resembles a cross between a vertical crossbow and gun. The whole weapon is more less made from titanium, including the draw strings. This also makes it incredibly expensive and rare, only the most skilled of smiths and weapon crafters can make this weapon. When firing, it launches a solid metal bolt faster than any crossbow, and more accurately than any bow. The titanium drawstring makes this weapon punch through metal and flesh like it was a musket, making it one of if not the de facto most powerful of ranged weapons.
Stats:

Range: 600/1500

Titanium Bolts: If used in a Boltshot Rifle punch through all non natural armor, and hit targets on their natural armor class.
Price: Rifle- 10,000 gp and only specific smiths can make it. Titanium bolts are 500gp each.
Dundors Immolating Fists: A peculiar pair of weapons. These are runic gauntlets that are permanently imbued with fire that build up heat before releasing in a torrent of flame. Dundor was a Dwarven Runesmith who’s last creation were these gauntlets, coincidentally, he died in a fire.
Stats:
Magical item

Damage: 1d4 fire damage.
Special: This weapon pair adds +1 to the users AC if both are equipped.
If both are equipped in each hand, the user gains enhanced abilities. The weapons become 1d6 fire damage, and the range of the weapon is now 15 feet. If a creature makes 4 successful attacks with these weapons, they may shoot a 20 foot cone of fire out on their next attack. All creatures caught in it must make a dc 14 dexterity saving throw or take 2d6 fire damage.
The Gatornade: Developed by a motley crew of lizardmen, the gatornade is some kind of pocket dimension, or delayed summon. It is a small hollow clay pot about the size of a grapefruit that when thrown breaks and explodes into multiple angry alligators that immediately attack the closest unfortunate soul. After the gators are done disemboweling their victim they usually just leave to find water.
Stats:
Thrown weapon: 30ft
Special: This weapon does one damage on impact, but otherwise when used, explodes into 3d4 alligators filling all available spaces closest to the origin. They immediately make a free attack on the closest creature, then have their initiative go at the bottom of the order. (use the crocodile stats for this creature). The Alligators are not allied with any creature and otherwise behave like any other alligator would.
Greathammer: 5e doesn’t have a greathammer, which I find odd, its nothing special, more or less like any great weapon, the greathammer is more adept at crushing armor with its heft and able to knock foes down with especially hard hits.
Stats:
Two handed weapon
Heavy
Damage: 1d12 Bludgeoning
Against a target wearing medium or heavy armor this weapon does 2d6 damage instead.
Dragonbreaker Lance: A frankly ridiculous lance, made of pure iron it is outrageously heavy. This is a weapon that not only is unwieldy to use anywhere but mounted, but is meant solely for near suicidal charges into large monsters that if hitting in the right spot will punch through even the toughest of armor, sundering bone and splitting limbs. Oftentimes used by disgraced knights in vain attempts to regain their lost valor, they are oftentimes found in the lairs of great beasts or old battle sites.

This weapon has a permanent disadvantage when using it whilst on foot, when attacking a creature of size huge or larger, this weapon does double damage. If riding the weapon can be held in one hand.
Gozen’s Bow: A bow that was used by a famous samurai named Gozen, this bow is magically imbued, and while the secret to how it is made is known by select few, Gozen’s bow is the original. In battle, Gozen was never a frontline fighter, in fact, as the legend goes, Gozen was a terrible warrior, but wanted to be a samurai, and while samurai were mostly trained in sword and glaive combat, most had some skill with the bow. Gozen wanted to be in the pitch of combat but was unreliable, and thus was on the brink of failing his life’s goal, until he made a bow from ancient aspen trees that lined a the summit of their mountainside fort. The trek was perilous, and he nearly died. For a year he spent perfecting the form of the bow. It is said atop the mountain the flow of magic was more free, and his bow was gifted with the ability to help his allies, securing his place as a unique and powerful warrior on the frontlines.

Damage: 3
Range: 30/40
Special: This weapon does not use normal arrows, instead it has 3 charges. On a successful hit, a target is marked. A target can only have one mark on it. When another creature attacks a marked target with a non magical attack, they add an additional 1d10 to their damage rolls. The Creature that put the mark on a target never gets this bonus. Other forms of this weapon have varied forms of additional damage, one that is an attempt to recreate it might add 1d6 instead of 1d10, etc.
