Bear Population

“The brown bear (Ursus arctos) is a large bear species found across Eurasia and North America In North America, the populations of brown bears are called grizzly bears. It is one of the largest living terrestrial members of the order Carnivora, rivaled in size only by its closest relative, the polar bear (Ursus maritimus), which is much less variable in size and slightly bigger on average. The brown bear's range includes parts of Russia, Central Asia, China, Canada, the United States, Hokkaido, Scandinavia, the Balkans, the Picos de Europa and the Carpathian region, especially Romania, Bulgaria, Iran, Anatolia and the Caucasus. The brown bear is recognized as a national and state animal in several European countries.”

Honestly I thought there was way more bears out there and even though there’s 200k of them on paper when you think about it worldwide, thats actually not that many. I’d think there was more bears especially thinking that there’s 7 and a half billion humans and everybody knows what a bear is but looking at these numbers not everyone will ever get to see one and it just feels weird to think about.

8. Eintrag - Recherche

Dieses Wochenende befasste ich mich vor allem mit dem Zeichnen eines Bären und den Recherchen zur Geschichte (z.B. Schauplatz, Fauna, Flora).

Für das Zeichnen eines Bären habe ich verschiedene Referenzen benutz.

Referenzen: Google suche unter:

- bear side view

- brother bear

- brown bear paw anatomy

Grundsätzlich habe ich hier noch nicht einzelne Bilder als Referenzen benutzt, sondern alle im Ganzen angesehen und miteinander verglichen. Deshalb steht hier nur der Suchbegriff statt Quellen zu einzelnen Bildern, weil sonst unzählige wären, die ich unter einem einzelnen Suchbegriff gefunden habe.

Bei der Recherche des Schauplatzes habe ich mir zuerst überlegt, an welchen Orten Bären leben und vorkommen. Dabei bin ich vor allem auf die Regionen Nordamerike/Kanada, Russland und Ostasien gestossen. Je nach Region variieren die Arten der Braunbären.

Nebenbei habe ich mich noch schlau gemacht, wo sich ein Graphic Tablet besorgen lässt, dass grösser ist, als dasjenige, das ich momentan benutze. Momentan geht es auf die Marke Huion aus, weil deren Podukte günstiger sind als die der führenden Marke Wacom und immer noch gut genug.
