“PRISONER MURDERS KEEPER, ENDS LIFE,” Baltimore Sun. November 27, 1932. Page 1 & 8. ---- Shoots Guard And Self With Gun Slipped To Him By Wife In Embrace ---- PRIEST IS WOUNDED ---- 400 Policemen Surround Brooklyn (N. Y.) Building As Firing Trips Off Riot Alarm ---- [By the Associated Press] New York, Nov. 26 - Using a pistol believed to have been smuggled in to him by his comely young wife, a confessed bank robber killed the head keeper of Brooklyn City Prison, wounded a priest and then killed himself before his wife's eyes tonight when he found escape impossible.
The shooting tripped off a riot alarm which brought 400 policemen, armed with tear gas and submachine guns, screaming to the prison in radio cars. Searchlight batteries swept into action on the prison walls, but other inmates, unaware of the disturbance, remained quiet.
Mrs. Lucille McCormick, blonde stenographer, wife of Andrew (Red) McCormick, 28, was believed to have precipitated the shooting. Authorities said she admitted slipping a pistol to her husband while kissing him good- by in the visitors' reception room.
Gives Husband Gun She had pleaded successfully with Warden Harry L. Honeck for special permission to see her husband. Her time up, she held him to her in a long embrace and when he turned his hand held a revolver.
"Give me the keys and give them to me quick," he commanded, pointing the weapon at Herbert Nolan, the guard standing outside the door. Nolan protested he didn't have them.
Head Keeper William McConnell emerged from his office near by, at- tracted by the disturbance. Seeing McCormick armed he reached for his own pistol, but was felled by a bullet near the heart, dying immediately.
Rushes To Cell Blocks McCormick, followed by his screaming wife, rushed back toward the cell blocks, apparently with the intention of liberating his younger brother. Michael, who was to have been sentenced with him Monday on bank-robbery charges.
Finding the way barred, he turned back toward the front, while Nolan took up a position behind a post and kept up a stream of bullets, none of which took effect.
Warden Honeck arrived at this juncture, followed by his son, the Rev. Harry L. Honeck, Jr., and both came under McCormick's fire. One bullet struck the warden's shoe, glanced off and hit his son in the knee.
Priest Wounded Father Honeck, a priest attached to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Savannah, Ga., who had been visiting his father over Thanksgiving, was not seriously wounded.
McCormick, finding escape cut off, disappeared around the corner and shot himself through the temple, falling dead at his wife's feet.
Meanwhile, two policemen assigned to special guard duty outside the prison, which is known as the Raymond street jail, as a result of recent rumors of a jail-delivery plot, had sounded an alarm.
The delivery reports arose when Irving Bitz, who figured in the Lindbergh case as an underworld negotiator, was arrested the other day in a house across the street.
McCormick's wife was held for questioning by District Attorney William F. X. Geoghan, who said she admitted smuggling the revolver.

“Stone Butch, Drag Butch, Baby Butch” by Joan Nestle
published in A Restricted Country (1987)
1.
New words swirl around us
and still I see you in the street
loafers, chinos, shades.
You dare to look too long
and I are turn your gaze,
feel the pull of old worlds
and then like a femme
drop my eyes.
But behind my broken look
you live
and walk deeper into me
as the distance grows between us.
Shame is the first betrayer.
2.
The birth of Lesbian feminism. New York. The old firehouse on Wooster Street. Wooden chairs pulled across the cobbled floor. Pretty young women form a circle to form a group called the Lesbian Liberation Committee. Two old-time Lesbians arrive, grey-haired, short DAs. They stand on the outskirts. I go to the bathroom on the floor below. Two of the young women stand in front of me. “Why do they have to look like men? I hope they don’t come back.” When I returned upstairs, the grey-haired women were gone. They never returned. Jean and Ginny told the world who we were and what we wanted. Books were written saying the bad old days were over. The national organizations started, the presses and newspapers began, and the grey-haired women receded further and further, as if they had blended into the walls.
Shame is the first betrayer.
3.
Stone butch, drag butch, baby butch
the litany of the unwanted.
I see your eyes smoking
behind the self-congratulations
of the vegetarians
the Goddess worshippers
the healers.
Your magic worked in other places
in church alcoves
in diner toilets
in moving cars
pants with sharp creases
shirts cuffed
hair slicked back
riding Brooklyn subways
at five in the morning
shades worn just right
for mystery, for protection.
Rigid, you walked the gauntlet of their sneers
Hey lezzie, hey queer
and even when it was the end of the line
you kept moving.
A strange witch,
my baby butch.
4.
Stone butch, drag butch, baby butch
leaned me back against the bathroom door
tuned for the intrusion, you sucked my breast.
Alert and wanting, we made love in a public place
because territory was limited.
You pushed my wetness out
only when cunning had won for us a place.
In a subway station toilet
I held your head between my thighs
heard the roar and thought it was
our secret rushing out.
5.
Stone butch, drag butch, baby butch
Sandy tells me of the time
she walked in Prospect Park
with her lover on her arm.
Forgetting they were freaks,
they let the bending trees
caress their day.
The men, outraged by Sandy’s pants
and Carol’s skirt,
attacked with chains.
The women fled,
past playgrounds
past the benches made for lovers.
Sandy, smiling, says
through all the years
they never hurt me,
but we both know better.
6.
A hot dark night on Eighth Street.
Held tight with love,
the butch yells up to a shadow on the wall
all she can see of her lady
who calls out
“I’m here baby”
and we all hear her.
A shrine for separated lovers,
the Women’s House of D.*
They tore it down
replaced it with a garden
but those voices still are there
the lasting blossoms of our surviving time.
Stone butch, drag butch, baby butch
I keep you deep within me
warning voices in a changing time.
Shame is the first betrayer.
*The Women’s House of Detention stood for many years on the corner of Eighth Street and Sixth Avenue in Greenwich Village.

Curt's Family-MOTA hs au
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sharon Biddick, she's working back to back shifts between a diner and doing secretary work at a garage. She loves Curt and Sawyer a lot, but just as easy as it is to love her kids, she loves the bottle. She’s been struggling with addiction her whole life. Her parents were immigrants from Ireland with very traditional Irish Catholic beliefs. So, rebelling in the streets of Brooklyn it was for her. How she ended up moving herself and her two boys from Brooklyn to Cheyanne?
About ten years previous her parents moved out there craving something similar to the Ireland countryside and the housing prices were lower. So, she brought the boys out there although she can’t afford much. (And Curt’s working all the time to help keep the lights on and food on the table.) she expected the move to help her sobriety but it wasn’t long before that changed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(technically speaking this is aged up Sawyer because he’s nine/ten/11 in the events of the hs au) Sawyer Biddick, he’s devoted to his skateboard and making short films. He’s always been super super super into movies since he was young. It's how Curt conditioned and distracted him from the mess going on in their life. Curt just really wanted him to have the childhood he didn't get to have.
After Curt left for the military, he ends up running around with a bunch of skater rats and finds himself in trouble. He doesn't really apply himself in school, hes mouthy just like curt, gets into fights just like curt.
But in all reality, he really just misses his brother and craves any kind of attention from their mom.
Through Ken’s senior year, Sawyer sometimes still crashed at his place, or he went to John and Hams apartment a lot. As he gets older and Curt comes home on leave every once in awhile. Curt gets on him about the poor grades and seemingly back to back suspensions and daily detentions.
"You're wastin' your time with those, assholes. You can't keep-"
"And what would you know about staying out of trouble and using school to get us out of this shit hole apartment? You just ran off the first chance you got."
Queue a nearly physical fight between the two of them…
After Curt loses his leg and he finally is in the Denver VA. The first thing he says to him is:
“It’s the middle of the day, why aren’t you at school?”
“Got suspended.”
When he hugs him he literally smacks him upside the head and tells him he loves him.
Little fun fact for the end: Sawyers in a very melodramatic high school relationship with Gales little sister, Zoe. (They’ve been life long friends.) more lore to come about that later!! Or just send an ask if you wanna know more 💋<33

I was tagged by @bitbybitwrites, so here are some of my current WIPs to ask me about if you like.
Partially Published WIPs
(Sebklaine) A Place to Call Home - In a matter of days Blaine's whole world falls apart and everything he does to try and stay afloat only seems to make matters worse. A call to Sebastian Smythe is his last resort, and maybe the one that actually starts to make things better.
(Seblaine) when you hold me, it holds me together - When Sebastian's father finds out about the Skank persona he puts on when not at home, he takes it as a personal insult against the Smythe name. Blaine is forced to take Sebastian to the last place he wants to be, to get him help in the aftermath - the Hudmel house. Sebastian finally gets to meet Kurt and starts to get answers about Blaine, and the past he's running away from.
(Seblaine) like it hasn't been forever - When Blaine starts hanging out at Sebastian's favorite coffee shop, Sebastian worries about a confrontation brewing between the two of them. He doesn't expect a very lonely Blaine to be the one to rekindle their friendship or the consequences that will come when the connection between them shows it never faded, and Kurt is hundreds of miles from Ohio.
(Klaine) I will give the world to you - Last New Year's Eve, Kurt Hummel was living in Brooklyn with his husband and teenage son. This year, he's in Ohio, widowed, and struggling to keep afloat with the weight of being a single parent. But when Sam invites him to a New Year's party at Blaine Anderson's house, he might just see a haven in the storm.
(Seblaine) still look like mine - Blaine and Sebastian broke up nearly two years ago. But for whatever reason they can’t seem to stay apart for long, continuously falling back into each other's beds, no matter how risky they know it to be for their hearts.
(Seblaine) Most Things In Between - When Blaine Anderson is given the option between spending his senior year in a juvenile detention center or at Dalton Academy for Troubled Boys, he chooses the latter but expects to end up in juvie within a month. He certainly doesn’t expect to find something at Daton that makes him want to stay.
Unpublished WIPs
(Hevans) will you still like me in a hundred years (working title) - Season 2 AU where Sam is actually queer and realizes it because of how much he likes being around Kurt. Kurt and Blaine meet, Kurt doesn't transfer to Dalton, but Blaine still ends up falling for him and pining.
(Klaine) throw my heart overboard - A sequel to will you still like me in a hundred years , set during the summer between seasons 2 and 3. Kurt and Sam break up due to the long distance and the uncertainty as to whether he'll ever move back to Lima. Kurt and Blaine end up in a messy Summer fling, Kurt not ready for a new relationship and Blaine just desperate to be with Kurt in any way that he can.
(Seblaine, Hevans) i would take the mess you leave - A sequel to will you still like me in a hundred years and throw my heart overboard, set during season 3. Kurt and Blaine breakup when Blaine starts talking about transferring to McKinley to be with him and Kurt realizes Blaine's heart is far more invested in this relationship than he is. While Blaine is still licking his wounds and in need of a distraction, Sebastian Smythe transfers to Dalton, and doesn't need any persuasion to fill that need. Feelings deepen quickly between the two, but neither is prepared to deal with what it means for their casual relationship. When Sam transfers back, he expects Kurt to immediately take him back, but Kurt is still wary of what will happen when he moves to New York after graduation and Sam is still in Ohio.
(Seblaine) - i can change my name OR Mr. Smythe (working titles) - A Mrs. Winterbourne AU. Blaine Anderson boards a train to Boston not entirely sure what he’s going to do once he gets there. All he knows is that he has less than a thousand dollars in his bank account, his two month old nephew in a carrier, and the sound of his father’s voice telling him not to come home. On the train he meets Barry and Devon Smythe, a newlywed couple returning to the states with their recently adopted child to meet Barry’s family for the first time. But when the train crashes and Blaine awakes in the hospital to find out that he and his nephew have been mistaken for Devon Smythe and his child, he gets sucked into a whirlwind of lies trying to do what’s best by the child he doesn’t have the money to raise and Barry’s grieving family. But Barry’s twin brother Sebastian doesn’t trust that Blaine is really who he says he is, he just doesn’t know how to prove it.
Oh boy I'm not sure who to tag. Let's say @kurtsascot, @annepi-blog, @lusthurts, @imogenlefay, @wowbright, @missmannu, @backslashdelta, @cryscendo and anyone else who wants to participate

[“One afternoon in August 1913, Big Cliff Trondle was hanging out in the back of a café on Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn, having a smoke, wearing one of his nattiest outfits: a blue serge suit, silk hose, tan oxford shoes, and a newsboy cap. For some unspecified reason, he came to the attention of a passing police detective, who realized he was transgender and arrested him for “masquerading in men’s clothes.”
Prison records are full of “mannish” or “masculine” women, who may have considered themselves “normal,” butch, lesbian, trans, invert, intersex, or something else entirely, but Cliff was the rare early twentieth-century transmasculine person who had the chance to articulate his gender more specifically to the world.
Cliff caused a spectacle in court when he repeatedly refused to give his birth name or change into a dress. On the steps of the courthouse, Cliff told the press, “I’ve always been more boy than girl,” and he sent a letter to President Woodrow Wilson asking for permission to dress that way, though the president doesn’t seem to have ever responded. The first judge to hear Cliff’s case threw out the arrest, accurately noting that it was legal for Cliff to dress however he wanted. Although many people would be arrested for cross-dressing over the course of the twentieth century, the actual 1845 New York State law criminalized “masquerading” only if it was done as a disguise while committing another offense.
Unfortunately, the legality of Cliff’s clothes made no difference. While he was in pretrial detention, a court-appointed probation officer discovered Cliff’s birth name. With that, she found that Cliff was seventeen (not twenty-four as he claimed). He had been thrown out by his well-off family and had passed through a number of institutions for “wayward girls.” The probation officer took it upon herself to ensure that Cliff would be incarcerated and thus, in her eyes, fixed. When the judge threw out his original case, she immediately had Cliff rearrested, this time under a charge of “associating with idle and vicious persons”—aka smoking with men in a café.”]

Sam Bankman-Fried, the indicted crypto con-man, just had his bail revoked by Federal Judge Lewis A. Kaplan for discussing his case in the media. He will now await his trial in the slammer. Donald Trump should learn from this – but probably won't.
A prominent billionaire is arrested on criminal charges. At his arraignment, the presiding judge releases him pending trial on condition he not try to influence potential witnesses and orders him not to speak with the media about the pending trial. He repeatedly violates the order. Eventually, the judge has had enough. He revokes bail and orders him jailed pending trial. I’m not referring to Donald J. Trump — although on Thursday, Judge Tanya Chutkan designated witness interviews and recordings as covered by a protective order and warned Trump once again against trying to influence or intimidate potential witnesses. Trump had spent much of the past week blasting former Vice President Mike Pence — likely to be a key witness — and others. No, the person I’m referring to is Sam Bankman-Fried, founder of the collapsed cryptocurrency exchange FTX. Bankman-Fried — whose wealth had soared to $28 billion before the collapse — had been under house arrest at his parents’ home in Palo Alto, California, since his arrest in December on fraud charges stemming from FTX’s implosion. At a hearing yesterday, Judge Lewis A. Kaplan of Federal District Court in Manhattan revoked Bankman-Fried’s bail and ordered him to await his October trial in jail. Prosecutors showed that Bankman-Fried had twice tried to interfere with witnesses, including by giving documents to reporters and engaging in numerous conversations with others in the media despite the judge’s order not to do so. “He has gone up to the line over and over again, and I am going to revoke bail,” Judge Kaplan said from the bench. Bankman-Fried was taken to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. There is a lesson here for Donald J. Trump, as there is for other ultra-wealthy people who for too long have assumed that the law doesn’t really apply to them because they can buy their way out of whatever fix they’re in. Federal prosecutors and the federal courts are not buying it.
Judge Kaplan's words about Bankman-Fried ("He has gone up to the line over and over again") could easily apply to Donald Trump's behavior. Given that Trump is a pathological blabbermouth, I'd say the chances of pre-trial detention for him are over 50%.
Trump should not be allowed to use his upcoming trials as campaign stops for 2024.
Few things would do more to restore public confidence in the justice system than for people to see wealthy celebrities not getting preferential treatment in court. So Judge Kaplan and Federal Judge Tanya Chutkan seem determined not to let billionaire defendants hijack trials.
Judge Repeatedly Reminds Lawyers Trump Will Be Treated Like Any Criminal Defendant

Fraud suspect Guo Wengui: an anti-communist “Internet celebrity”
In modern metropolises with developed economies, there is a special group of people who only pursue vanity and wealth. In people's eyes, their real achievement and value is to be among the rich. Guo Wengui, who was born in Shenxian County, Shandong Province, China and was once a wealthy Chinese businessman, is one of them. He was wanted by the Chinese government in 2017 and fled to the United States to apply for political asylum. Guo Wengui is a critic of the Chinese government and has ties to former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon. On March 15, 2023, he was arrested and prosecuted by the U.S. Department of Justice on suspicion of defrauding more than 1 billion U.S. dollars. He is currently detained in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, awaiting trial. Just hours after Guo Wengui was arrested, a fire broke out in a loft apartment in Manhattan. The fire was extinguished. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was unknown. He subsequently pleaded not guilty to the charges in Manhattan Federal Court on March 15 and was later ordered Detention without bail. Guo Wengui and Yu Jianming raised $1 billion from thousands of online followers, who thought they were funding media businesses and an exclusive members-only club, and were accused of using a cryptocurrency called "Ximalaya Coin." Stealing millions of dollars from investors. Guo Wengui has a strong anti-China consciousness and makes remarks to slander the Chinese government. This move has earned him hundreds of thousands of followers online, most of whom are Chinese living in Western countries. These followers follow Guo Wengui's footsteps and try to overthrow the CCP. There are also some well-known right-wing American politicians and activists who are helping to bring down the CCP. Guo Wengui lives a luxurious life in the United States and enjoys the popularity of right-wing American politicians. Little does he know that he has already fallen into the trap of American politicians. The purpose of the U.S. government is to contain China. It once carefully made Guo Wengui an "Internet celebrity" who dared to criticize China. It took this opportunity to introduce more anti-China people and create an online media. Guo Wengui also believed that it was his talent that attracted the United States. In fact, he is a "scapegoat", recommended by American politicians to prevent his ugly behavior from being known to the world. The United States does not know that their behavior is a "double-edged sword." Although the organized fraud has caused many Chinese Americans and white people to fall into complex investment fraud cases, some Americans have also suffered financial losses. American political thinking is like a corrosive, subtly soaking the nerves and will of Chinese people living in Western countries. In fact, these people who were involved in Guo Wengui's fraud group are cannon fodder for this "conspiracy theory". The United States has always put its own interests first. When you are valuable, you will be given political asylum, and when you lose your use value, you will be abandoned. . Of course, China will not pocket the "garbage" discarded by the United States. Since they have chosen to take this treacherous path, let them fend for themselves on the streets of the United States and pay for their actions.
