Gen One, Day Fifty-Three

“So? You ask her, Livvie?” Brittni asked as she came back from the bathroom. Olivia nodded, but before she could explain, Brittni turned to Eris. “Well? You coming? You haven’t tasted champagne until you’ve tasted what Olivia’s Mom buys for her clients.” 

“Um...” Eris stuck a french fry in her mouth, giving a shrug. “It sounds like a lot of fun, but I have to ask my Mom first.” 

“Ew, why?” The reaction from Brittni was visceral and Olivia scoffed next to her, giving Eris an I told you so look. It wasn’t the first time Eris felt like she wasn’t cool enough to hang out with these two, but the reassuring smile from Olivia helped to squelch some of that feeling. 

Picking up one of Eris’s fries, Olivia threw it across the table at Brittni. “Oh stop,” she demanded, showing how their friendships always kept each other in check. “Not everyone’s parents just lets them do whatever the hell they want. Eris wants to check in with her Mom, we support that.” 

Brittni sighed, rolling her eyes before tossing a lopsided smile Eris’s way. “Fine. Yes, we support. But I’ll also support you rebelling and letting loose and coming to drink champagne and eat shrimp cocktail with us.” Olivia laughed and Eris found herself hoping that her Mom would let her go. 

But...maybe she’d leave out the part about the champagne.

So, the Holloway House, another of the fYA fT and mC houses.

I didn't really like any of these damn houses, especially for the teens cos I felt I barely get to know them as teens before it's over and I missed the childhood part.

But this one, Asana (name took so well I forgot her first one), and her children, I raised them right and moved the daughter out when she was old enough and took care of little Barry until he was grown and moved him out, too. He moved in with the neighbors' twin aliens, with whom he made friends in school. Asana worked for this time period, but I can't remember what she did.

I had every intention of moving the York and Pace moms in with her once she got her kids grown. (Shiew as well but I got distracted there.)

I think by now I had gotten towards the end of a-gen and was trying to finish with them, and get B gen grown.

Only in my households was a random baby from Kian Padgett with a random townie, so I moved Tiffani (Affani) Hobson in with Asana Holloway to raise the baby.

I don't know which order I went in, if Tiffani moved in first or if I moved Tiffani in cos Asana was pregnant by something Hulin, cos I liked his face, but either way, they both had babies at pretty close times. They were never romantic with each other, but their daughters eventually were.

Beram and Bevelyn (I don't remember what Beram's real name was) were very sweet lovers. They took professional careers and didn't have any children.

Asana and Affani enjoyed moderate fame as amateur painters until their deaths in old age.

Their daughters eventually grew up and true to plans, I moved Katrina Pace and Cleo York in with them to live out adulthood and stuff.

And I guess I got bored, cos people had babies.

Cleo and Katrina had one I named Blodwyn. Rather than make her a gen C, I paired her with a spare gen B from an A-B gen pairing, Brittni Scalebeck, that house is actually part of what motivated the record-keeping. I followed Blodwyn from birth to Elder in a few game sessions, and it weirded me out.

Bevelyn and Katrina had one, too, called him C gen cos B carried.

Katrina and Bevelyn worked together as painters while Beram was a bartender. Cleo and Katrina died loved and respected by their unconventional family.

Gen One, Day Seventy

“What does Corey think of your new look?” Olivia asked after fourth period. They headed towards Eris’s locker and she put her books away, grabbing another out of it before shaking her head at her friends. 

“I haven’t even seen him yet since he got back from camp.” 

The girls looked surprised, exchanged looks before going quiet. Eris noticed. Boy, did she notice and she turned on them, eyes narrowed. “What?” she demanded. 

“Nothing!” Olivia proclaimed defensively. 

Brittni, on the other hand, wasn’t as quiet with her thoughts. “He came back three days ago, why didn’t you guys get together then?” 

Eris sighed. She’d thought the same thing. They’d texted and called each other, but Corey had been tired from camp and had told her that he needed to settle back in, but he’d see her in school. It had sounded like a cop out, or that he was hiding something, but she didn’t want to believe it. Now, laid out in front of her friends like this with their looks of confusion gazing clearly back at her, she couldn’t hide it anymore that the whole thing seemed weird. Was Corey avoiding her? Had something happened at camp? Was he having second thoughts about being her boyfriend?

Gen One, Day Seventy

The first day of school for Eris was more awkward than it had been when she first started high school. Mostly because she’d definitely redefined herself over the summer. Cut her hair, bought almost a completely new wardrobe. She’d almost had her Dad convinced, she was sure, to let her get a tattoo, but he’d never quite gotten around to allowing it. 

While she’d gotten some comments here and there from people she knew, it wasn’t until Brittni and Olivia came into the classroom with her that she held her breath to see what they’d think. They hadn’t seen her like this, she’d kept it a surprise. It was almost like her friends didn’t recognize her at first, but then Olivia stopped in her tracks, looking Eris over and her face lit up. 

“Holy shit, look at you!” she exclaimed, nothing malicious in the words. 

Brittni turned in her seat and her face, too, lit up. “Wow, Eris, you going through a dark phase?” 

Eris chuckled, shaking her head. “I just needed to change it up a bit.” 

They both giggled, coming over to her. Olivia ran her hand through the tips of Eris’s much shorter hair while Brittni gave her a complete once over. Neither one of them thought it was weird, or if they did, they didn’t say it to her face and for that, Eris was eternally grateful. It helped put her at ease for the rest of the day and let her know that she was okay to be herself, in whatever form that took.
