I got inspired from the current X-Men/Marvel RP session, which I drew. I will be planning to have a potential modern Marvel AU fanfic that has something to do with yakuza, mafia, and gangsters.

man it is seriously depressing remembering how excited i was when i first got my bottom surgery referral multiple years ago now like things were finally looking up i was so excited to finally get surgery after waiting my entire life i was constantly browsing bottom surgery forums to read other ppls account of their recovery etc. i really couldnt wait to feel comfortable in my own skin and be able to have sex the way i wanted and be able to shower with the lights on and all that. and then that was all taken away from me. and all that imagining post-op life that made me so excited is so painful now bc i know it is so far off and possibly i'll never be able to have it bc the nhs can just arbitrarily take it away from me again on the whim of one doctor.

cant stop thinking about emigrating cause i know i would literally get bottom surgery faster if i moved to another country and went through their processes despite the fact that my initial gic referral was in 2017 lol. even if i got my bottom surgery referral today (realistically i won't be re-referred for like another decade p much, and no they won't let me keep my old place in the bottom surgery waiting list, i checked many times with gdnrss lol) it still might be faster to emigrate. i know that a friend of mine who was recommended for bottom surgery in 2019 recently had surgery (she's a trans woman, im aware the waiting times are an order of magnitude longer for masculinising bottom surgery bc of the nhs fucking up the st peters contract too) and like i definitely know foreign surgeons with wayy faster turnaround than that, although im not sure how quickly i could become a citizen to become eligible for those countries' healthcare systems. maybe i could take advantage of my british passport privileges idk how much easier that would make it. but anyway i've been on and off thinking about moving to cuba since i was 16 anyway for anti-imperialist reasons, and ofc they have free bottom surgery there. ive have stayed put bc i think there needs to be communists in the imperial core too to sabotage imperialist efforts to crush revolutions abroad if nothing else bc the british people are so impotent lol, but like damn if britain doesnt keep giving me reason after reason to leave this shitty place

Picked up an old book of Queen Victoria's art: that is, art by Queen Victoria, who was a prolific amateur and even took lessons from some eminent artists at the time. As a teenager, she was fond of older men and brooding handsome types, and she could have done some numbers on Tumblr. This is Lord Melbourne, the first man who was nice to her, and she draws him like a fan artist—big eyes and everything.

She liked her men brooding.

She thought Albert was so handsome that she could hardly stand to draw him.

She was very observant on a small scale -- good at portraiture, which was her chief interest, and skilled with her use of color. But there was no chance for her to become innovative.

As in everything else, it didn't matter that Victoria was talented and bright when there was no one who had any interest in educating her more rigorously. For one thing, women in general were rarely allowed to do nude studies, much less the likes of her. She never really mastered depth of field or the squishy odd angles that human faces can make when they are tilted down or crammed against restrictive clothing. In general, the inanimate didn't interest Victoria, and what didn't interest her, she didn't have to deal with.

So she didn't. She didn't challenge her own thinking, and it was not in anyone else's interest to do so until it was too late. Her absolute refusal to change or think more broadly created problems for the nation and generational trauma in her children, resounding even today.

Anyway, this pretty little sketchbook demonstrates that monarchy is horrible for everybody.

It's okay to criticize William & Catherine

My discomfort with William and Catherine, started in January 2022 with their 40th birthday acknowledgements.

First, Catherine's 40th birthday photos were an homage to history but missed the mark. They were nice enough photos, but were the beginnings of them starting to lose the plot.

Prince William focused on homelessness for his milestone birthday. There were some rumblings that he should have released a formal portrait and a separate communiqué regarding his commitment to help diminish homelessness as one of his projects.

Again, William and Catherine are glorified public servants. They are not socialites. Catherine's sister Pippa is. W&C work for the crown, the family business, the Firm.

I also think Catherine is going to get slammed for the amount of new clothes she has bought this year. I'm not commenting on weight or pregnancy predictions, but she has a lot of new stuff while her husband is proclaiming himself the messiah of homelessness.

Finally, why is it okay to criticize Harry + Meghan but not William & Catherine?

Are people not allowed to say that Catherine's note missed the mark?

I've written much over the years about racism versus valid criticism. We should be able to criticize William & Catherine's arrogance without being called a hater. We should be able to remind them that their priorities are their family, their job and then their passion projects. In that order. W&C are not above criticism.
