Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration I think is the most colorfully diverse Disney production since Cinderella (1997)
Belle is played by H.E.R., a Biracial Black-Filipino singer!!
the background cast is a rainbow of skin tones!!
the main characters of The Beast’s castle staff are diverse as well!!
Including David Alan Grier as Cogsworth, Martin Short as Lumière, Shania Twain as Mrs. Potts, and Leo Abelo Perry as Chip
Maurice, Belle’s father, is played by Filipino actor, Ernesto Cloma Briones Jr.
Gaston has dreads! And arms as thick as tree trunks! (played by Joshua Henry)

Pattycake Productions on Youtube continues to make some of the most fun fantastic and magical Disney content I've ever seen. They have such love and respect for the original Classics and capture the feel and magic of them better than anyone else I've seen (including the actual Disney Company)
And here's their latest offering, a musical meet up of all the Disney Cinderellas!

All I want in life right now is for Brandy and Whitney Huston's version of Cinderella's soundtrack to get released on Spotify. I don't want to hear the original Broadway cast sing it. Yes, Queen Julie Andrews version is on there. All hail the queen. But I want Brandy. I want Brandy, Whitney Huston, Paolo Montalban, Jason Alexander, Bernadette Peters, and a little bit of Whoopi Goldberg (speaking at the beginning of Prince is Giving a Ball).
I go on Spotify, search it, see some people made playlists called Brandy's Cinderella, and it's not Brandy singing. It's a bunch of white people. They're lovely singers. But they're not Brandy. I want Brandy, got-freaking-dangit. The closest I could find is Paolo Montalban's solo version of Do I Love You Because You're Beautiful / I Have Dreamed. It's great. I'll take what I can get. But it adds on lyrics that wasn't in Cinderella and Brandy's not there. It's a solid 7/10 but it doesn't hit the same.
If Spotify released Brandy's Cinderella, we could break streaming records. I would listen to that 24/7. I would have it play on my phone muted while I'm at work just to boost the streaming numbers.

I’ve been watching (and rewatching… and rewatching) Cinderella 1997 aka Brandy’s Cinderella. And it is fantastic, easily one of my favorite adaptations to date ❣️❣️
But if I were to make one tiny change, I’d change the ending so that Prince Christopher doesn’t check inside the kitchen, and simply leaves the house after Lady Tremaine’s foot fails to fit the slipper.
A major theme in the movie is that dreams can be accomplished through action. Cinderella takes action by finally packing her bags and trying to run away. By removing that Chris checks the kitchen, this means he’d only know Cinderella was there by witnessing her escape attempt. Emphasizing that if she hadn’t finally taken action, they would’ve never reunited.
But by him first checking the kitchen, that means even if Cinderella hadn’t runaway, he would’ve just saw her tidying up like usual and they still would’ve met. I think this very minor removal would fit the theme more, since it’d their reunion would be completely due to her initiative.

Part of the reason why Brandy’s Cinderella worked for me, as opposed to the live-action Little Mermaid, was that she didn’t have to talk to any hideous CGI animals throughout the movie.
