Only Friends is at its most fun when it feels particularly unhinged. The zoom in on Boston at the pool is one of those moments. This show made the most sense when it felt like everyone agreed on the goal of a scene, especially when it was an homage to the types of campy dramas we had in the 80s and 90s.

I love this show so much. I am so thankful that we have been able to spend so much time with Shiro, Kenji, and all of the people they know. This was a lovely season and a great way to cap off my Fridays for three months. Their lives and their struggles are so familiar to me, and so is the warmth that surrounds them.

So the second end of the year post is here and it's best BL OST's. I love me a good OST. And sometimes the BL isn't that great but the OST is. Now let's find out my picks

Can there even be an OST list without Boy Sompob? No not at all. He is the #1 BL ost guy and as it should. This song perfectly fits the BL it was made for La Pluie.

More Boy Sompob? Well he was busy this year OST wise so. This one has to be my favorite of the Boy Sompob OST's this year. It's just so beautiful. It was for Chains Of Heart which was not a good BL unfortunaly. But perfect OST.

Now this song? For I Feel You Linger In The Air? Absolutely fantastic. This is by far the most populair BL OST for this year and no surprise. Cocktail is always great tho so if you haven't checked out the rest of their discography then go do so now!

Daou Pittaya with Would You Mind? for Love In Translation. More then enough times they let actors do the OST while they can't sing but this time? No where near close. Daou is an amazing singer. Top tier! Also the special version he did with one of the Tilly Birds members is really beautiful. Check it out as well.

The OST for The Sign and what a banger! Perfectly fits this action packed BL.

Last one on the list and it's the OST from Only Friends by Khaotung Thanawat. Another good BL singer. I love the piano part at around 1:52.

Absolute Zero episode 1 was so unbelievably beautiful. I don't know if it was the scoring (does New Siwaj have Boy Sompob on speed dial?), the cinematography, the acting, the story...I don't know, but I'm in love.

Also it made me cry. Twice.

They've finally released this song!! I've been in love with it for so long. I've gone ahead and translated it from Chinese -> English whilst we wait for a Thai -> Eng translation. So please be aware that this translation may not be entirely accurate since it's technically a translation of a translation. What was the song's name, and who sang it when Team sang to Win at the pilot trailer?

The song is called "อยากใช้คำว่ารัก" ("I Want to Use the Word 'Love'") by Boy Sompob! In the pilot teaser, Prem (Team's actor) sang it himself, and then the audio switches to Boy Sompob during the drowning scene. They haven't released the full song officially yet, but Boy performed it at the series premier event last month. :)

Hej @miscellar! Thanks for this ask, I did get one of these already BUT I'm happy to have two since I can list five more songs. The first were mainly slow songs, so I've gone for more upbeat ones here. Coincidentally, I've been compiling a top ten list of songs from bl shows (which I'll post at some point!), but this ask allows me to be a freer with my choices than that list, so I'm grateful for that.

As I said in my response to @jemmo's ask, I was a bit confused at the wording - I don't usually listen to music when other people are around (social anxiety ftw) but sometimes it happens when I'm in work early in the morning and some of my colleagues also arrive early…so I'm going to pick five of my favourite songs from that playlist I usually listen to (it's 8 hours long so there's plenty to choose from!).

In no particular order:

เพื่อนเล่น ไม่เล่นเพื่อน (Just Being Friendly) - Tilly Birds Feat. MILLI - I can't remember how I stumbled upon this song but it's so good. It took me a while to look up the lyrics as well and it's basically 'are we friends or something more' 😂.

Florida - Yu-Hwan, Cha Woomin, Moon Kanghyuk, Zeze, & Yoo Seungjun - from The Tasty Florida - This is a great song for when I feel the need to dance in my kitchen whilst I'm cooking. I'm not particularly into kpop but I imagine if I were, it would be songs like this.

Ride Home - Ben & Ben - used in Gaya Sa Pelikula (I think) - And if I want to sing and dance, then this is a fantastic one... I love the energy in the guitar and in how it builds.

三生三世 (Eternal Love) - Jason Zhang - from Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms - Again, I don't remember how I stumbled upon this song (I didn't even know it's from that series until I searched for it just now - and I've not watched it either) but I'm a total sucker for not only a 3/4 but also orchestrations with violins. I love this song.

Better Alone - Boy Sompob - I got to know Boy Sompob through his ost songs for various bl shows and I really love his voice. It's quite distinctive and I usually listen to a song a number of times wondering if it's him before checking and discovering it is (this most recently happened with the ost for Dear Doctor).

If Jeff Satur and Boy Sompob ever joined forces, the entire BL OST-loving community would lose our fucking minds. Now I know that Boy was a producer on the Secret cover (because I just looked it up) but I don’t think they’ve done anything else together. I’m talking if they wrote and recorded a song together.
