CM Punk had issues with William Regal
Alleged details of an apparent backstage incident between CM Punk and William Regal in AEW have now emerged.
According to BodySlam.net, there was a situation involving Punk and William Regal when Regal debuted for AEW at Revolution in March 2022.
BodySlam reports that multiple sources confirmed there was an altercation where Punk refused to shake Regal’s hand.
Punk was said to tell Regal he didn’t like him, didn’t trust him, and called him a “stooge for Triple H”.
In late 2022, Regal was let go by AEW per his request and went back to WWE to work under Triple H.

"An incident took place between CM Punk and William Regal when Regal made his AEW debut.
Punk refused to shake Regal’s hand, and would then get in his face, telling him that he did not like him, he did not trust him and that Regal was a “stooge for Triple H.”
Even more Punk drama, but maybe he was right for that one lol.

Tuesday, January 10
8:57pm EST: Bryan Alvarez tweets "I think monster news imminent"
9:21pm EST: Sean Ross Sapp tweets "Hey guys, one of hot rumors is that Saudi buyers are interested in WWE. I've gained no actual information thus far to indicate this is actually happening, outside of a few vague hinting messages from people outside WWE WWE contacts claimed to not know what the hints were about."
9:36pm EST: Cassidy Haynes tweets "If what I just heard is true. Holy shit."
10:11pm EST: Haynes tweets "For what it’s worth, I’m told the Saudi deal is done and they’re taking the company private." Haynes also posts an article on Bodyslam.net saying the same thing.
10:17pm EST: SRS stresses that he has not confirmed these rumors, he's just identifying what the rumors are for people who keep asking about vaguetweets.
Wednesday, January 11
12:29am EST: Haynes tweets: "The deal isn’t completely finalized because WWE must provide notice to shareholders & other parties. There are legalities to go through, as the company is publicly traded. But, again, I’m told a deal has been agreed to in principle."
12:59am EST: SRS smokes a joint during a livestream about the rumors. I feel ya, bro.
1:45am EST: Dave Meltzer and Garrett Gonzalez begin a livestream. (Full audio is available for subscribers here.) Dave discusses the potential ramifications of selling WWE to Saudi Arabia, but repeatedly states that he has not confirmed the story.
8:58am EST: Ariel Helwani tweets: "Contrary to reports stating otherwise last night, there is no deal in place at this precise moment for WWE to be sold to Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund or any entity, sources say. The organization is still exploring all options, I’m told. Developing."
9:09am EST: Brandon Thurston tweets: "I asked someone at WWE, who would know, who said the story that took hold of Twitter last night, about WWE and Saudi Arabia being near a deal to take the company private, is untrue."
9:49am EST: TMZ reports that "we're told reports of a deal being set in stone are simply not true."
That seems to be the latest so far. Cassidy Haynes says the deal is "agreed to in principle" but not "finalized." Helwani says the deal is not "in place," Thurston says the parties are not "near a deal," and TMZ says the deal is not "set in stone." All four of those quotes can be true at the same time if WWE-Saudi talks are in progress but waiting on due dilligence and other paperwork. It's also possible WWE isn't even negotiating with the Saudis, though that would mean Haynes is way off-base.

While asking around about the purpose of Callihan’s visit, it was also confirmed to us that Callihan is there to potentially discuss both a deal to work as an on screen talent and backstage with the promotion."

It seems as though I jumped the gun, as did all the new sites that picked up that story. It was only bodyslam.net that reported it initially.
A lot of speculation going on in the world of wrestling today. Including a potential sale of the WWE to Saudi Arabia. As a long time watcher of the product I voiced my concerns and a new report from other news sites, and picked up by #Cultaholic is claiming that the rumors of the sale are untrue. And there are no definite plans to sell the company immediately.
Quite frankly I am relieved and we all should have listened to Sean Ross Sapp when he reported it untrue since the rumor broke out.
Keep your head up #WWE and wrestling fans. Shits about to get wild!
