Green Emerald; Nature

I got inspiration from two anime for shadow, Panty n Stocking with GarterBelt and Kill La Kill. I think they go well with shadows stubborn n straightforwardness. Very intense

Shadow posses Nature, represents Mother Nature, Growth, Protection, and Healing. He’s a more tragic character, but no matter what. He’ll keep his promise to protect all life on earth, especially the people. Even if they’ll turn on him eventually. Slowly healing from his amnesia and his past. This emerald fits him.

Blue Emerald; Cosmos

Silver’s sequence is inspired by anime Magia Record, specifically Rena Minami’s transformation. It was a quick change from Hyperdimension Neptuna to Magia Record when I watched Rena fall through several mirror portals to change into her magical girl outfit. Truly enchanting

Silver posses Cosmos, represents depth, speed, wisdom, and integrity. Able to to turn thoughts into power, trigger visions, and astral traveling. Silver’s destiny to save the future and bring peace between universes through dimensional travel. He can pull knowledge from anywhere and everywhere. The Blue Emerald favors his great mind.

This has been such an incredible year for Sonic and has revitalized my love for these characters and the franchise as a whole. Between the Sonic movies and Sonic Frontiers, my brain has been filled with nothing but this blue boy. I think the last time I actually drew him or any of the main cast was all the way back in 2013-14. So I thought it might be fun to use this wave in inspiration and make multiple character sketch sheets as practice since I’m a little rusty with these guys. It was very cathartic to focus on something different away from my personal project work and I plan to do either Super Sonic or Tails next. :)

I randomly thought of the idea for the Chaos Emeralds being sentient and being able to like "talk" to Sonic as just a throwaway, funny lil idea- but now Sonic actually being besties with the Emeralds won't get out of my head.

One of the reasons why I approve of Idris Elba voicing Knuckles in the Sonic Movieverse is because his voice reminds me of another NY voice actor, Michael Alston Bailey, who did a lot of work in the 4Kids industry with Dan Green (Sonic X’s Knuckles).

im still waiting on that sonic themed splatfest . btw. theres so many good choices for themes and sonic and splatoon just feels like a crossover that would be Fitting and Correct in a way idk how to explain. also if they ever did a sonic splatfest theme i would literally die if they did splatoon style covers/remixes of sonic songs to replace the regular music just for that splatfest. but they probably wouldnt go that far
