Hoy 28 de marzo de 1995, Big L lanzó su álbum debut, "Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous", a través del sello discográfico Columbia Records. El álbum fue muy bien recibido por la crítica y ha sido aclamado como uno de los mejores álbumes de rap de la década de 1990.
Big L aka The Legendary L fue un rapero estadounidense nacido en Harlem, Nueva York, el 30 de mayo de 1974. Su nombre real era Lamont Coleman. Empezó su carrera en la música a finales de los años 80 y se convirtió en un miembro destacado de la escena Hip Hop underground de Nueva York en los años 90 y parte fundamental del grupo D.I.T.C. (Diggin' In The Crates).
"Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous" presenta la habilidad lírica de Big L y su estilo de rap agresivo y callejero. El álbum cuenta con producciones de artistas como Lord Finesse, Buckwild y Showbiz, y presenta colaboraciones de raperos como Jay-Z, Kid Capri, Grand Daddy I.U., entre otros.
