Strange courtship gifts
The last thing anyone would expect is for the Joker to believe in the supernatural, but apparently Gotham was in luck, because the clown was about to make a deal with the King of all ghosts to revive his prized foe.
Said King was not happy about the request, nor did he care about the clown's feelings, but he knew it was a necessary evil. Or at least, that's what Clockwork told him; of course, Danny didn't intend to do anything for free.
The Joker got his wish, Bruce came back from the dead and Danny wondered what he should do with the clown's soul. With a shrug he decided to put it to the best possible use and wrapped it in a little bow before handing it over to Jason Todd.
Jason thought it was a joke, a cute guy giving him a gift out of nowhere and claiming that the frozen ball in his hand was the Joker's soul? Yeah, right.
However, John Constantine came through Gotham and it became obvious that it wasn't a joke and that the cute guy was more than just a regular guy. It also came with the feature that Bruce returned to the living, which made him strangely relieved.
And fuck, reckless or not, Jason needed to find the guy again and steal the air out of his lungs, because that weird ball was the best gift he'd ever been given in his life and it might as well be an engagement ring.

can’t talk about it
[ID: Black and white comic of Vash and Wolfwood from Trigun Maximum. The comic starts with the sounds "thud, thud, click". Vash, mid-action of peeling an apple, turns to the sound, noticing who it was that entered, and says, "Oh, Wolfwood, you're back." He resumes back to his apple in the next panel as he speaks, "Where'd you go? You snuck out of bed quickly this morning..." Wolfwood's hand then enters the panel, hovering over Vash's cheek and Vash looks up as Wolfwood asks, "Can I?" Vash responds, "Not going to talk about it?" while using a hand to gently hold Wolfwood's hovering hand and presses a kiss to his inner palm.
Vash then gets up fully, setting down the knife down on the table and the apple onto a plate, He leans into Wolfwood as Wolfwood explains, "Had to meet someone. Nothing interesting to talk about." Vash kisses Wolfwood's left cheek and a hand moves to cup his other cheek while muttering, "You're being vague." Wolfwood says neutrally, "If yer really that curious, keep askin'. We can talk about that instead of doing this." Vash leans back and responds, "Let's talk after, since... You look so tired."
The panel pans to a close up of Wolfwood's downcast eyes, bags heavy underneath his eyes. He doesn't allow Vash to sit in that moment for long though, then saying, "Yer not helping, Spikey. Being all slow with it... I could fall asleep right now." He moves his hand to start unclasping Vash's coat, starting from his collar. Vash with red cheeks, responds briskly, "Oh, shut up. I'm worried about you. I can't be worried?"
The final shot shows Wolfwood's back to the viewer while Vash's softened expression can be seen as he holds gently onto the side of Wolfwood's face and a hand firm on his waist. Wolfwood responds, "I'm fine, seriously," pausing for a moment before continuing, "Is it okay to still..?" Vash responds, "Yeah, it's okay."
The next image is a shot from later that night after the previous comic. Vash and Wolfwood are now in bed, half naked. Wolfwood's buries his face into Vash's chest, his arms wrapped around him, while Vash is petting at his hair. Vash reminds him, "Hey. You said we'd talk about it." Wolfwood pauses for a moment before piping up, "In the morning? I'm sleepy." Vash says, "Okay..."
The next two pages start from the morning after. Wolfwood is already fully awake, pulling on his outer jacket as he says to Vash, whos' still bundled in his blankets, "Breakfast is on the table. Make sure to eat it. I'm going to grab some things in town and then we're leavin'. Got it?" Vash says, "Mh." Wolfwood responds, "Good. See ya in a bit." The dialogue starts to shift into Vash's inner thoughts now, as he gets up and eats toast, thinking, "Wait. Weren't we supposed to... talk about it?" The next shot then shows him fully up, meeting Wolfwood in town. He carries a half worried expression with him while Wolfwood slides on his glasses for him. A quick panel shows Wolfwood's tired expression from the night before and quickly juxtaposes with Wolfwood in front of him who's smiling gently, the shades covering his eye bags. Wolfwood asks him, "Still not awake yet?" Vash pauses, his thoughts stirring, thinking, "Oh. I guess I was getting ahead of myself... thinking you owe me that kind of honesty." He smiles at Wolfwood and responds, "I'm awake!" His thoughts continue, "Maybe one day, you'd trust me enough to share your burdens."
The final image shows Wolfwood pulling at Vash's cheek and Vash complains, "Owwwww why..." Wolfwood quickly says, "You were thinking something stupid, right? It's all over yer face." Vash mutters, "Nooo, I wasn't..." END ID]

Prompt 248
Jason… wasn’t exactly planning on going back to Gotham.
Oh sure, back when he’d first gotten his head fixed up by the Pits and then utterly fucked by them he had been planning on a convoluted thing of revenge and getting Bruce to kill the joker and honestly he’s barely not doing that. But a literal six year old declaring your plan was stupid was downright insulting, even if they were correct.
But he’s not going to drag this out. He’s only here for a few days, just enough to take care of things with a couple of Shadows loyal to Talia- and therefor him as well- before Damian is sent over. It was a thing he had argued with her for hours, the whole sending Damian here, but… But it was something Damian wanted, and well, she was paying for college for him. So.
So Joker would die, would never get a chance to hurt his baby brother. It wouldn’t be his first kill- he didn’t regret his previous ones, not when the blood would have been on Damian’s hands instead- but hopefully it would be his last.

for something as trivial and simple those feelings sure are hard to get rid of
also made a gif a version for fun + alt version with no tears under the cut
the gif is in very low resolution...this is a feature (i could make it bigger but that would require saving each frame individually and than glueing it all together. also i feel like low resolution suits it better. aesthetically and fits the mood)

Any personal headcanons on Rick and Michonne as a couple? Like their favorite things about the other, what they argue about, love languages ect. lol they’ve set up camp in my brain and I just want more of them 🙇🏻♀️
this is so funny because i've been thinking about their love languages ever since danai did that interview with YNB after 1x04! yvette said rick's is words of affirmation and michonne's is acts of services, and I definitely agree but I also think they display pretty much all of them, and quite a bit? rick is obviously into giving gifts and loves quality time (family fun day, begging her to spend just a few more days on the road in 7x12) and to say they both love physical touch is an understatement. this gorgeous gifset highlights it all beautifully.
anyway, some headcanons~
I really don't think they argue about much? they are very in sync most of the time. historically their big arguments are about how to handle major threats (negan, the crm, rick's PTSD) and since nothing bad is ever happening to them ever again because I said so there's no need to fight about those things anymore
michonne's favorite things about rick are how affectionate he is with his family, his strength, his accent, and his hair
rick's favorite thing about michonne is everything
i actually think they talk about books a lot. they're both nerdy as hell in different ways and love that about each other
michonne likes to cook and is very experimental while rick likes to bake (mostly secret family pie recipes) and they love feeding each other and their kids
michonne absentmindedly sings and does little dances when she's doing things around the house and rick stops whatever he's doing to lean against the wall and watch her and smile
that scene we saw in 9x01 where they cuddle up in bed and unpack their day was a ritual they started way back at the prison, even though back then it was obviously platonic (we do actually see them talking when everyone else is asleep several times throughout twd). they would linger and chat before heading to their respective cells at night. in the six years michonne spent without rick, she continued the tradition herself, talking to him out loud alone in their bedroom
rick DEFINITELY teases michonne about being oblivious to his feelings for her before The Couch
michonne hits back by teasing him about Whatever the Fuck He Was Doing With Jessie 💀
you didn't ask for grimes family headcanons but:
after they got home, michonne has a moment like that scene at the end of kill bill vol 2 and has a near silent hysterical laugh-cry of relief by herself in the bathroom before calmly walking back out to join her family. only rick notices
rick on the other hand is afraid to let any of them out of his sight. he spends the first six months he's back home being a total insomniac watching the three of them sleep because he's afraid if he closes his eyes he'll wake up alone back at the CRM
antony azor who plays rj is apparently very shy and reserved but opened up unexpectedly with andrew lincoln and so obviously this is also exactly what happened with rick and rj. father and son bonded INSTANTLY
his first night back, judith asks rick to finish reading the wizard of oz to her because he never got a chance to. it takes a good five minutes for him to compose himself but she does finally get the full story from her dad
rick and michonne do have an actual wedding ceremony, but it's just for them, judith and rj.

So, this issue basically canonises something that I've long since thought to be true about Beast and his relationship with the X-Men, and it's that they literally have no clue what's going on with him at any given time.
For context, around this time in the comics, Hank had just been dumped by his long term girlfriend, had his brains bashed in by a student, and been psychically traumatised by an evil twin of his mentor. He was a psychological wreck, suffering from intense body dysphoria/dysmorphia, anxiety, and incredible loneliness.
But because he just keeps going, because he doesn't stop and break down, because the most you ever see the mask slip is with Jean in New X-Men, or when Logan provokes him into an outright fight in Astonishing, they just. Don't seem to realise.
It's something kind of unique to Hank, too. He spent such a long period of time away from the main X-Men team, from 1974 to 1991, that there are whole swathes of the team who know him but really don't know him, and because he's one of the oldest X-Men, because he's a genius, because he always seems so centred, they tend to just walk into his lab, ask for what they need, and walk right back out.
This is something that could've really been drilled down into in All-New X-Men, if you wanted to really explore his psychology and the reason why he ultimately gets ousted. This isolation even among his peers, the fact that no-one went with him when he left Utopia, it really does paint a very unflattering picture of his relationship with the X-Men. They need him and they want him, but they aren't good for him.
Also, Hank looks really nice in that suit in the last two panels.

@jegulus-microfic august 31 - takeout - 433words
welcome to part 1 of lune generating random dates for the jegulus microfic prompts she hasn't done yet
feat. jeggie granddads<3
James gently traps Regulus’ wool socketed foot under the table where they’re both bent over their takeout boxes of fried rice at Harry’s dining table.
Regulus sends his husband a look which this one ignores in favor of stealing some of the mushrooms from between Regulus’ rice.
Regulus wiggles his toes and steals a big piece of pak choi from James.
They headed straight to their son’s after landing in London, coming in from Barbados. It’s around 3 in the afternoon and they’re bearing one hell of a jetlag and also hunger at an odd time of the day, not exactly lunch time anymore and definitely too early for dinner.
Thus, takeout.
Sponsored by their lovely son.
“We’re back,” called from the front door, three sets of feet following Harry’s and then the slam of the front door.
“Chelsea, honey, door-handle,” Harry admonishes, “Door handle, please.”
“Sorry, da—”
“Pap is still at work. Who are you telling we’re back, who’s home?”
“Well,” Harry starts, but doesn’t come far when he’s interrupted by a shriek of, “Grandpas!” and then it’s those three sets of feet thundering down the short hall leading to the open kitchen.
James is already setting aside his fork and turning in his chair when Louis comes bolting around the doorframe only to be pushed aside by Teagan.
The ten year old immediately squeals and heads right for Regulus, as he knew she would, just as Chelsea passes Louis who’s grappling to get off the floor before they both come bounding into James’ waiting arms.
“Grandpooops,” Louis howls accompanied by Chelsea’s giggle as James squeezes them with a happy groan and kisses them all over their heads.
Regulus pulls his eldest granddaughter up into his lap after a tight hug and strokes her inky hair as she clings to him, smiling brightly.
Harry ducks into the room with a fond smile and three backpacks in hand.
Sets them down at the table as Louis starts prattling on about footie and Chelsea examines the two thin braids at the side of James neck.
“Kids, let your grandpas finish their meal and go wash your hands, huh?” Harry speaks up.
Regulus exchanges a look with his son when it becomes evident that he has clearly not been heard, who has his hands on his hips and is shaking his head, lips pursed around a smile.
Regulus shrugs with a smirk.
Harry narrows his eyes, points a lazy finger, “You’re already spoiling them.”
“No, that doesn’t sound like us,” Regulus responds. Sees James procuring two sweets from his jeans pocket in his periphery.
