🌸Happy #skincaresaturday my loves!!! As most of you know, I am definitely interested in learning about new skincare products & new makeup- even new hair & nail products. I’ve been a @beautytapofficial expert for the past few months, & that has afforded me the opportunity to try a lot of new products, ones that I’ve never heard about & ones that I’ve wanted to try but hadn’t yet be able to. @orpheus.skin is one of those brands. Being the avid serum user that I am, I had been seeing Orpheus products pop up on my social media for months. I remember thinking how much I really wanted to try this brand. The first thing that really caught my eye was the packaging- stunning, purple glass bottles. Then I researched a bit & found out that they have revolutionized skincare with the use of the “resurrection flower”, one that has survived the ice age &, through the amazing advancements in science, is able to be used in skincare. On the skin, this flower has the ability to regenerate cells!!! I knew I had to try this & I’m so grateful I have been able to incorporate it into my daily skincare routine for the past few weeks- & my glowing skin is definitely showing it!! I have mostly combination skin- oily in my t-zone & normal to dry on my cheeks. I am acne-prone, especially certain times of the month. I’ve been using this for a few weeks & do not see a pimple in sight. This is becoming my holy grail!!!🌸 𑁍 🌸Let me just tell you babes about their facial spray!! Do you know of any skincare product that boasts the power of a youth-restoring Flower Cell Peptide Complex, a vitamin cocktail of B3 & 5, C and E, & two different forms of hyaluronic acid? Orpheus Bio-Luminous Dewy Essence is formulated like a lightweight serum, but in a spray!!! I shake it well & spray 3-5 pumps onto my face. If I spray on clean skin, I pat it in gently, but if I spray as a refresher over my makeup, I let it air dry. Thank you @orpheus.skin & @beautytapofficial for sending these to me to try!🌸 𑁍 #orpheus #orpheusskincare #resurrectionflower #beautytap #beautytapexpert #skincareobsessed #influencerlife #beautylife #topshelfbeauty #highendbeauty #healthyskin #aginggracefully #beautybloggerlife (at Newark, New Jersey) https://www.instagram.com/p/CSR9QMXLktN/?utm_medium=tumblr

The Top 7 Selfie Apps Koreans Can’t Get Enough Of — & Why They’re So Addicting
When it comes to selcas (Korean for selfies), Koreans just may be the world experts. I mean, have you seen those selcas?? The poses, the angles, the lighting, the stickers! So it makes sense that they’d have the inside scoop on the best selfie apps out there. From A-list K-pop idol go-to’s to every girl-next-door faves, here are the top selfie apps you need to download rn.
Koreans love selfies. Nine times out of 10 when I stumble upon an Instagram account of a Korean national, the feed is riddled with selfies. And why not? Koreans have no qualms about pulling out a little hand mirror (no dinky compact mirror will do) to perfect their face on the subway, posing for a number of selfies (or selcas in Korea, short for “self camera”), and then spending the rest of the commute modifying and embellishing their selfies to their liking.
So it stands to reason that when it comes to selfie apps, Koreans pretty much know the best ones out there. Here, a list of the top selfie apps Koreans are totally hooked on.
Jennie of BLACKPINK. Instagram.com/blackpink_jennie
1. Kwai
A big hit with Korean celebs, this app goes beyond just a regular ol’ selfie and allows you to record yourself lip syncing lines from Korean shows or pop songs — with bunny ears and whiskers, of course. It’s totally addicting to watch, as you can see with these Korean celebs. (Can you imagine if they had The Godfather here?)
Yoona:
Suzy:
Park Han-byul:
Sulli:
(BTW, if you’re curious about that dialogue that Yoona and Sulli are mouthing, it’s from a Korean reality show called Living Away From Mom about kids who try to adapt to a new living environment without their mothers. Check out the og clip here.)
Download Kwai here.
2. Foodie
Foodie may have been around for eons, but what started out as an app for food porn has now turned into one of the top selfie apps of choice for Korean celebs and laypeople alike. Everyone and their mother in Korea have used this app to post a selfie. Just check out a small sampling:
RM of BTS:
Jeong Eun-ji of A Pink:
Jimin of BTS:
Jin & J-Hope of BTS:
Download Foodie here.
3. B612
This selfie app offers advanced filters for the next level selfie junkie. Add a soundtrack to your videos, download scenery, add bunny ears. Perhaps what Koreans love the most is the ability to modulate the V-line of your face (even if there are six of you in the photo, like the one below!) and instantly give you a poreless, soft-focus complexion.
Beautytap’s L.A. team with our Korean interns!
Download B612 here.
4. Kirakira+
Taking advantage of the all-glitter, all-the-time mood that’s been going on for years now, Kirakira+ is an app that will add sparkling effects to anywhere light is hitting. Kirakira, which means “glittering” in Japanese, natch, is sure to be big come holiday season. And it’s not just Asians who’ve discovered this mesmerizing app; just check out the high fashion and Hollywood stars joining in on the fun.

Actress Emily Ratajkowski via celeb makeup artist Patrick Ta’s Instagram:
Download Kirakira+ here.
5. Meitu
Make your anime cosplay dreams come true with this super cool app that basically takes your photo and turns it into an anime-like illustration. With a bunch of different illustration options, from cutesy to hand-drawn-by-an-aspiring-artist-slash-idol, this app will make you want to pen your own graphic novel stat.
You can see the different cartoon effects in this post:
Download Meitu here.
6. Gudak
Taken from the word gudakdari, which means the outdated in Korean, this contender for top selfie apps takes your throwback experience to the next level. Gudak not only gives you old-school-looking filters (think fuzzy ’80s prints), it actually takes three days for you to get your filtered photos, giving you a true pre-Internet experience. (Now all they need is the surly worker behind the counter to truly bring what it was like in the old days.)
Sunmi:
Jennie of BLACKPINK:
Download Gudak here.
7. Snow
OK, so this app has been around for years now as well (we first wrote about it here), with over 200 million downloads to date, but it’s still going strong among Korean celebs. From some of the best complexion-smoothing filters in the field to what may be the widest array of stickers (apparently thousands of new filters are updated daily), Snow shows no sign of melting away. (The hashtag #스노우 has over 1.2 million posts.) Just check out how good the face mask filters look:
Download Snow here.
Craving more? Check out this Twitter account solely dedicated to Korean celebs and their selfie app posts.
Have you tried any of these selfie apps? What are your top selfie apps and why? Let’s chat in the comments.

My anniversary products from BeautyTap!
We were sent random products, so I didn’t pick the Cosrx snail mucin item. 😅 But out of curiosity, I looked up how the main ingredient is farmed: it is actually kind of like like honey in the way that the snails have to be happy to produce the snail trails for these products. The snails are put on special netting that collects the mucin, for a short amount of time per day, and are well fed and taken care of. You can read more info about it here. I did smell it out of curiosity and was surprised there was no fragrance to this essence. It fights redness/inflammation and hyperpigmentation.
I was especially excited about Epicuren and Raw Love SPF. Epicuren is a well known skincare brand, I just hadn’t gotten the chance to try them yet. This lotion is lovely, has a mild smell, but I especially love how lightweight it is. Raw Love SPF is an oil based sunscreen. It applies white, simply rub it into the skin until it is clear. It has almost no fragrance (it has essential oils for scent, but I didn’t find it overpowering at all). Here is the ingredient information and how to use it. It is different than any other sunscreen I’ve tried before, so I’m especially excited to use it this summer. Last but not least is the brow pencil by Missha, a Korean makeup and skincare brand. Speaking with a friend of mine, she was wondering if they had a black eyebrow pencils since she has a hard time finding them in America, and the brand does!

If you’re looking for a body wash that will help exfoliate so you don’t have to deal with the texture of a scrub, Cosmedix has the solution for you with this body wash. Simply leave it on your skin for a full minute to properly activate and get rid of that top layer of dead skin and you’re good to go! It has a lovely light and fresh smelling cucumber scent to it that wasn’t overpowering, and it left my skin feeling nice and smooth. Definitely loved this one!

Products gifted for free in exchange for my honest reviews on BeautyTap. I got into this amazing and exclusive VIP round! I’ll be doing a separate post about the manicure set bc I have so many pictures of the process that this four picture collage couldn’t fit in. Full reviews for each product can be read here.
I was very pleasantly surprised that I was really happy with most of these products. The shampoo and conditioner bar from Brixy were basically fragrance free. I couldn't really smell either the vanilla or the coconut this bar was meant to be scented as. The conditioner bar did a decent job. My test for how good a conditioner is, when I first get out of the shower I comb out my hair without any post shower treatments. This one passed the test. The shampoo also left my hair squeaky clean. So if you aren't big into fragrances, this would be an option for you.
My favorites were definitely the Le Mieux serum and the Le Mini Macaron LED nail set. The Le Mieux serum left my skin feeling firm and moisturized. And the nail polish stayed on well without any big chips for more than two weeks. It will get its own post soon. Lastly the Remedy Plant Lab helped my hair look lustrous and healthy.
Products featured:
Coconut Vanilla Shampoo and Conditioner Bar by Brixy.
TGF-β Booster serum by Le Mieux.
Le Mini Macaron Manicure Kit in Milkshake.
Hair and Scalp treatment with hemp oil by Remedy Plant Lab.

My favorite product of this review round was definitely the dermaplaning wand. I’ve tried a few disposable options before and was much happier with this reusable wand, where you can change the razor out. I found that using an oil based serum as a slip agent prevented me from breaking out during my dermaplaning, and I included and before and after of how easy it was to use on the sensitive are between my hairline and eyebrows.
A close second fav was the avocado scrub. Even though I love a good chemical exfoliant with acid based formula, some days you want a scrub without acid based ingredients. It’s faster to use since you don’t have to wait for the acid to activate and can be gentler. This wasn’t an overly scratchy scrub either, it was gentler than some other ones I’ve tried over the years, so this is a great starter scrub for people to try out if they’ve never used a scrub before.
The Camu Camu serum is vitamin C rich which helps with hyperpigmentation. It was super lightweight, easily absorbs into your skin. But I found with my dry skin that it wasn't moisturizing enough. So I suggest it for people with more oily skin. The bronzing drops were super subtle, but leaves your skin with a healthy glow.
Least favorite product from a packaging standpoint was the SPF, some of the cream can get trapped in the lid and lead to goopy grossness coming out the next time you go to use it. The SPF worked, but I’ve been on a kick of enjoying lighter weight formulations, and this one is on the thicker side of SPFs I’ve recently tried. It was still lightweight compared to the formulas I tried growing up in the 90’s.
