#i think it’s interesting how in both mdzs and cql we do see the lans #who are known for the lan lectures and being the main educators of the next generation of cultivators #have their own ways/teachings undervalued #like not even getting into the lans and their rules as a whole #bc while the lans can be rigid. rules are not inherently a bad thing. #and my thoughts on following rules bc they’re rules vs. following rules bc u understand them etc #the moment lwj and wwx get testy suddenly it’s the lans as a whole #and cql ep26 lxc is peer pressured into drinking scene my beloved my be-makes me insane #bc if he takes the drink then not only is he essentially showing that he can be swayed #but he is also going back on one of his clan’s precepts that he has no reason/want to break #+ the cultivators there /know/ that the lans don’t drink #but if he refuses the drink then that makes him as the lan sect leader look arrogant #and like he is refusing to work with the other clans as if the lans are ‘better’ #so he takes the drink :)
