question!
i've been wanting to stray away from lu for a while now and do my own thing with wars n ledge and the rest of the links (mainly bc i feel restricted by jojo's rules/don't agree w her takes, and wanna pursuit my own stuff), but there's one big thing holding me back, and that's lack of views to put it bluntly
if i make my own au and don't tag its content as #lu, then it will most definitely get a fraction of the attention my lu content does. and i know it sounds self-centered of me to worry abt something like that, but i put months of work into the fics i post. i put days of work into each art piece i post. if i work on something for months and then 10 people on ao3 read it and an astounding 0 of them even leave a comment, that will be Devastating to my motivation And confidence
what im asking y'all is this: should i finally make my own au to separate myself from lu and risk the plunge in notes, or should i stay in the lu fandom and suffer?

"Wereshifter Miles AU but get this: he grows instead"
hhhh this AU isn't exactly planned out carefully, this is just a quick indulgence for some angst
this is idea kinda came forth from AgVeeHell's AU of Sizeshifter Miles but he Grows From Stress rather than shrinking (you can read their first chapter here!)
also uh more info + bonus panel kinda under the cut?
this was gonna be the 4th panel but it took way too long already so i rejected it lmao
so anyway. this AU is a bit too "inconvenient" to write out whilst filling most of the plot holes this would pose. but whatever it's fun to think about!!!
what if he grew instead of shrunk? how would you hide a condition like that from MvK??
this little scene takes place after 1-3, similar to the other thing i made for the "regular" AU. Edgeworth really needs Wright to get out since this time he may actually endanger him on top of discovering his secret.
stuff to think about!

still it was sooooooo funny and uncomfortable at the psych appointment because she saw ? somewhere in papers/files that my mom and dad divorced in.... 2015 i think and shes all like "so.... usually divorce causes problems in children... how was that for you was it hard on you...?" acting all nervous/gentle like lmaooooo thats not even the worst part i dont think i cared about the divorce In Comparison to Everything Else. hed been abusive to my mom and generally neglectful not great to us (me and sibling) and theyd been separated for 6 years before the divorce because he kept going to jail for drug related things which he would often steal money from us for it and generally made my moms life hell by like manipulating and emotionally abusing her and hed have violent tantrums where he broke things (there are still holes in the walls and other damage in the house from him) and also sorta ruined our lives a bit and then in 2019 he was accused of some crime and he ran away to escape getting arrested or whatever and i think legally he is classified as a missing person and we dont even know if hes alive or not.
so like the divorce was whatever to me i guess.

I just realized something kinda mindblowing abt q!etoiles' lore! There's actually a semi-canon explanation for his diabetes; it's just not surface level apparent.
I was chillin and watchin a video (this one) abt writing. In the middle (abt 3 mins in), Red goes off on a side tangent abt how the amount of sugars produced by a theoretically photosynthetic human would be abt 4x more sugar than the human body could provide, which is essentially the starting point for diabetes. (source? im diabetic)
It's been repeatedly stated in qsmp that Etoiles isn't human. Instead, he's a cucumber hybrid. What exactly this means (other than green skin) is left pretty vague… However, Etoiles being photosynthetic isn't exactly an uncommon headcanon. It logically and scientifically follows that the excess sugar created by the photosynthesis plus any carbs that etoiles eats plus any sugars that are naturally created in his body would be more than enough to cause serious medical issues and warrant the use of insulin and a diabetes diagnosis
obvi, I realize that the main explanation of why q!etoiles is diabetic is because cc!etoiles is diabetic, but I think that it's cool that there's a possible in-world explanation as well (aside from him just getting the short end of the stick) What are y'all's thoughts?
TLDR: q!etoiles is diabetic bc he's a cucumber hybrid and possibly photosynthetic which overloads his body with sugars

i lowkey disagree w u on ur position on fictional ships and certain portrayals of topics such as incest and pedophilia, but oh my fucking god to have the fucking. AUDACITY to accuse someone of real life pedophila and incest because they MENTIONED being NEUTRAL on a certain topic?? like you didnt even say you think fictional incest is cool and rad or wtvr u afaik (which. even if u did that ask would Still be abhorrent) but ur explicitly Neutral and are VERY carful to tag shit and i just. 1/2
cut for length and also sensitive topics
i cannot fucking imagine accusing someone of such a horrid act with such conviction bc u SLightly DIsagree on a topic. jfc. i block tags and if ur conversations ever drive me over the edge id Unfollow. im so so sorry people are such fucking assholes man. i hope people gain some sense abt these topics im so sorry
yeah no i completely respect your opinion. and i do know where it's coming from. to tell you the truth (basic decency of tagging triggers aside), i DO find most of those fanon portrayals to be cheap and uncalled for a good majority of the time, at least from a literary standpoint. things like dating a minor or your own sibling have serious implications on a character's moral code and interpersonal dynamics where most characters would... not fucking do that! and the moment you don't engage with those implications, it becomes either incredibly ooc or altogether shallow. some people act like a topic being problematic makes it inherently complex and rich, when it can be as tropey and flat as any other "safe" topic. being problematic doesn't make you interesting etc. my point isn't arguing over literary value, it's more like... there's people behaving horribly and cruelly towards the AUTHORS, and making disgusting assumptions like the one that was made against me, all because of fiction you can always filter out at the end of the day (assuming basic tagging etiquette is respected ofc) and like. that's too far. nobody deserves to be treated like this.
not to mention, the "incest fiction recs"/"pro incest posts" those freaks mentioned were literally 1) me gushing about revolutionary girl utena, a deeply feminist and self-aware series that unpacks the misogyny behind anime incest tropes by treating that abuse REALISTICALLY as patriarchal manipulation from a male relative and showing how the female victim suffers and emancipates herself from it and 2) me being annoyed that hs showed one of its characters suffering from csa without acknowledging it AS abuse, even when it would've been not just the morally decent thing to do, but also a genuinely good addition to his character arc (apparently it does do that in the endstory, but i didn't know it at the time). those are both posts about realistic, condemning, and well-thought depictions of incestuous abuse in fiction—which is the only way i ever enjoy the topic btw—but that didn't stop these people from deciding i had an incest fetish and harassing me for weeks on end to the point of accusing me of sexually abusing my teenage brother. like you said, it would be a ghoulish way to treat someone even if their assumption had been right (and it wasn't), but it's like they saw the topic being mentioned and that fact alone was unforgivable, regardless of context. and this crap happens to people all the time! if that's not fucking stupid i don't know what is
