rewatched 4x07 and this line left me dead in the street

Damn there are so many interesting unreleased scenes in the series

In this scene Morgana, who is lying on the brink of death following her encounter with Merlin/Emrys, sees Morgause in the Spirit world and is given a magical coin to revive her. Morgana also will use this coin in the episode Lancelot du Lac to summon Lancelot's spirit.

It certainly raises some questions as to what those people are and what Morgause’s life after death is like and how different it is to the concept of Avalon. Is Uther also now in that dark place? Also it gives a neat link to how Morgana got the coin and how Emrys literally bested her so bad she went to purgatory and get a physical object from her sister to bring back. Merlin wasn't playing around anymore!

This is one of the deleted scenes I always wanted to see so badly, it’s so clear they filmed it without all the special effects at least.

reading what julian jones said in an audio commentary about that merlin and gwaine scene in ep 4x07 I'm screaming

[Gwaine is waiting for Merlin in Gaius’s chambers.] Merlin: I’m busy. Gwaine: Doing what? Merlin: What do you think? RW: So Gwaine wasn’t in this, uh, initially? Not in this scene? JJ: Well, there was a scene that was in, um, the armoury, from what I remember. RW: Yeah. JJ: And, um…Merlin got quite angry that Arthur wasn’t doing anything and was uncharacteristically rude, in fact, and was quite bolshie. And I think that is what motivates, uh, Gwaine to come and offer to help out. RW: Yeah. JJ: And so that wasn’t there for Gwaine. And in the end, the scene really wasn’t…wasn’t necessary. It didn’t take us anywhere. This scene’s a lovely scene because it’s a relationship. We know that they have a close relationship. RW: That they’re close, yeah. [Agravaine watches Gwaine and Merlin ride off together.] JJ: Yeah, and you instinctively understand why Gwaine has gone there to help out his friend and, um, Merlin, feeling the whole world’s against him…rejects this. Um, but then, slowly, they form a partnership and um…which is, uh, going to drive us towards, uh, rescuing [Gaius].

4x07 The Secret Sharer

Let's see it's been *checks notes* exactly two seasons since the last 'Gaius gets tortured' episode, so I suppose we are due.

I love domestic husbands scenes. This one is great, obviously for the domesticity but also just because Merlin literally dragging the King of Camelot out of bed and onto the floor before lifting him to his feet in the morning, all because he's being a whiney brat who doesn't wanna get out of bed, is probably the best moment in the series.

How many scenes of Arthur dressing are there in this series? Has anyone ever counted?

Agravaine has people searching Gaius' rooms and smashing shit before the king was even informed.

They brought Gaius to a cave to torture him but they were kind enough to put a pillow under his head

I realize the catha is supposed to be scary but I only see his character in Outlander

Is it me or does Merlin underappreciate Gwaine a bit

Merlin is really out here playing CSI: Camelot

Yes, clearly holding a knife at someone is the most practical way to see if they're still breathing.

If Alator was always #Team Emrys, why did he even torture Gaius in the first place?

Arthur is really bad at apologies and he never asked Merlin HOW he found Gaius

Gaius explains that old Merlin didn't kill Uther but he still doesn't mention that he knows this for a fact because of the necklace. WHY isn't he just TELLING Arthur about it

Commentary by Julian Jones and Richard

Julian says 'this is a very important scene' right when Merlin goes to wake up Arthur and I'm just like "yes, yes it is"

Richard: ppl talk about my eyebrows but I can't control them

Richard mentions Rupert was only brought on for an episode or two but he was so popular they kept him on, and Julian says he is very good 'value' which makes me figure Rupert must be underpaid

Every time someone mentions the filming schedule I wonder how they got all these actors to stay on for 5 seasons and I fully appreciate why the actors have said that they wouldn't do another series of the show.

Julian just said at the part where Gwaine approached Merlin to offer his help, Merlin felt like the the whole world was against him... the whole world in this case being ... Arthur?
