I already liked the idea of Sun having a short temper and having the capacity to be petty/passive aggressive/etc so my idea of him isn't as completely changed as it may be for other people

Buuut the new lines have given me a new idea for a young Sun freshly transferred from the theater who's pompous and sassy and kinda just unpleasant to be around if you're not a good kid on a good day, who will inevitably be hit and humbled by the horrors

Steve comes home into a dark and suspiciously quiet living room. A short moment of the all-too-familiar fear that's always lurking in the back of his mind flaring up inside of him is immediately followed by a fresh breath of relief when he hears muffled voices emerge from behind a door down the hall.

He kicks off his shoes and quietly walks on socked feet towards the sound. In the doorframe, he stills to observe the scene inside the room: Eddie is crawled into bed with Katie, both of them tucked underneath her bright pink bedsheets. She's resting heavily against Eddie's chest and his hand is stroking through her hair, while a book is resting in his lap.

'Then he looked beyond the thorn bushes, out into the big dark night,' Eddie reads to her. 'Nothing could be further than the sky. "I love you right up to the moon," he said, and closed his eyes.'

Neither Eddie nor Katie notice Steve standing there and he can't help the smile creeping onto his face.

'"Oh, that's far," said Big Nutbrown Hare,' Eddie continues. '"That is very, very far."' He flips a page. 'Big Nutbrown Hare settled Litttle Nutbrown Hare into his bed of leaves. He leaned over to kiss him goodnight.'

Eddie himself also leans down to press a kiss against Katie's forehead.

'Then he lay down close by and whispered with a smile: "I love you right up to the moon - and back."'

He softly closes the book and brushes some hairs out of Katie's face, a soft smile lingering around the corners of his mouth. Steve can see that her eyes are already closed and that her lips are slightly parted; she looks peaceful, completely different from how she was when Steve had to leave the house.

'Hi,' Steve whispers, tiptoeing into the room.

Eddie's smile brightens when he looks up and meets his gaze.

'You got her to stop crying?' Steve asks, still whispering.

Eddie nods. 'I think her headache's finally gone,' he answers. He shuffles a little bit, cautious not to wake Katie, then pats the space beside him. Steve crawls next to Eddie underneath the blanket; the bed is small but they manage to make it fit, and Eddie presses a chaste kiss to his cheek when he's settled.

Steve feels the exhaustion of the long day wash over him in a sudden wave. Without another word, he drops his head onto Eddie's shoulder and closes his eyes.

He hears a soft chuckle close to his ear, then feels a hand grab his fingers and bring them upwards to press a kiss against the back of his hand.

'I love you to the moon and back,' Eddie whispers against his skin.

The 1976 adaptation of The Picture of Dorian Gray with Jeremy Brett as Basil Hallward.

Basil was one of my favourite characters in the novel so seeing Jeremy play him actually healed my soul a little bit.

However, did you know Jeremy Brett actually portrayed Dorian himself in The Picture of Dorian Gray (Season 5, episode 20) episode of Armchair Theatre in 1961? Haven't found any footage, but there are some photographs:

Edit: Aaaaand the reason why no footage can be found is because there is none! Zilch! It's disappeared without a trace! According to Wikipedia, many episodes of Armchair Theatre were lost and this particular episode was amongst them. Jeremy Brett's Dorian... completely lost to time... *sheds a tear*

At least we have these wonderful pictures to prove it happened!

Apparently a total of 258 episodes of Armchair Theatre are missing due to the archival policies of television at the time. The entire first series is gone.

Some thoughts on Ruin

Just me rambling about Ruin rn and what I think is going on Ruin is a liar (or "actor" as he'd call it) yes, but he's also not the gleefully evil villain laughing about how nefarious he is that some people expected him to be because of what we knew of him under the virus. The opposite actually. He does not want to hurt Sun or Moon. He is (kinda) willing to explain what he's doing. He feels guilty about making Eclipse, who's directives like making the puzzles actually made him less violent than usual. Acknowledges how fair it is for Sun to be scared of him that they all deserve answers after everything he put them through. He's a theater kid to the core who won't fess up what the grand finale is, but I don't think his plot is something with evil intentions. Everyone else is talking about essentially the end times happening but what does Ruin mumble about? "It'll all be free soon?" Whatever he's doing I'm not gonna deny will likely fuck over the multiverse and need to be stopped, but until we get more info I think Ruin has good intentions vs fucking things up for the sake of being evil and the like. Morally grey rather than straight up villain Additionally Ruin doesn't actually know when he rebuilt Eclipse and whether it was him or his virus self. Perhaps he was never fully cured and he's continuing a plan the virus set in action, but with my current theory it's more that this truly is the real Ruin's plan and he pushed through the virus to set it up.
