1997 was the last year that Ringling Brothers had a graduating class for its’ “Clown College.”
The most well known member of the 1997 graduating class of Clown College was Steve-O, best known for the brave yet foolhardy stunt/prank series “Jackass.” Steve-O used the lessons he learned at Clown College to excel, a combination of physical comedy and stuntwork.

Everyone, meet Little David!
I found this lovely gentleman at the local goodwill today! 2003 David Larible doll for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey, he’s even got his instruments!! Amazing find, I recently messaged a friend here on Tumblr for a very similar doll, only to find this colorful guy a week later! I’ve added a photo below(not mine) of the same doll in the original packaging. So exciting!

"Air Cooled"
When the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey circuses came to town in August 1939, they brought 800 performers and over 1,000 animals. They also brought an air-conditioned tent.
Set up near the Parade, the tent had a rooftop ventilation system that pulled in cool air from iceboxes outside. The system used 100 to 125 tons of ice each day, according to the Minneapolis Tribune, and lowered the temperature inside the tent by 15 degrees.
