some quick queer fossil fighters headcanons
-Several vivosaurs have been treated throughout the ages as queer icons. Generally, dromaeosauridae, particularly Dilopho, Breme, and Nychus, are seen as representative of all forms of queerness. Moreover, Aopteryx, Proto, and Guam, who are gifted with the ability to transform into yet more glorious iterations of themselves, are commonly used in trans iconography. Shanshan tends to be used as a transmasc icon solely, while Guam is usually used for transfem iconography. Aopteryx is used dually as a generalised trans icon and as a representation of nonbinary Fossil Fighters. Also; Sinopteryx is often incorporated into lesbian iconography.
-Most assume that Holt, for his love of V-raptor, would be gay. They're not wrong that he's queer, but his specific brand of queerness is asexuality.
-Dinaurians have more complex chromosomes than humans, so have their own approach to classifying both sex and gender. While there exist both female and male Dinaurian phenotypes, these phenotypes don't always match with their BC/CC chromosome distributions—environmental influence plays a far greater part in Dinaurian than human puberty, so BC males and females both exist, as do CC males and females, and BC and CC intersex Dinaurians. While Dinaurian standards of masculinity and femininity exist, they present more guidelines than cultural imperatives—as such, many Dinaurians fit into neither box socially or biologically, and this is broadly considered normative. Human ideas of straightness, gayness, and bisexuality thus don't always translate well into Dinaurian culture, as the idea of inherently being attracted to especially stringent expressions of certain chromosomal phenotypes just doesn't compute when those phenotypes aren't straightforward. Dinaurians might mention preferring masculinity or femininity somewhat if asked about their sexualities, but are more likely to emphasise personality, intellect, or specific nondimorphic physical characteristics. That is, most dinaurians are sapiosexual and pansexual to some degree, but pansexuality doesn't tend to entirely translate as a cultural construct.
-Near the Hare Club, Cranial Isle has a small hangout room labelled 'the Aopteryx Club'. It's a de facto space for trans Fossil Fighters to meet up and trade anecdotes, and Terry insists on setting aside a portion of the Fighter Station housekeeping budget to make sure the Aopteryx Club is furnished as well as possible.
-Terry is gay, and Cole is a bisexual who long assumed himself to be the sole queer man worth his own attention. The two attended highschool together, and slowly, ever so slowly, have been seen becoming more and more affectionate with each other in public.
-Lola is nonbinary and aroace, but doesn't tend to mention her gender identity unless asked. She's seldom felt quite comfortable with they/them pronouns, but considers herself human before she considers herself in any way female. Though she's ace, she absolutely adores gossiping about others' love lives, and has made every effort possible to nudge Cole closer to Terry.
-Lester is nonbinary and transmasc (he/they pronouns). He and Lola spend a great deal of time making music after hours at the Aopteryx club.
-Pauleen and Dina are lesbian. Oh so very lesbian. Dina is usually entirely oblivious to any male expressions of attraction towards her. Pauleen is not oblivious when men adore her, but tends to be upfront about seldom returning feelings.
-Rupert and Dino are gay. Oh so very gay. From a marketing perspective, Rupert's father didn't disapprove of his son's sexuality—rather, he despised his son's choice in partner, and feared that Rupert and Dino's public affection for each other would drive away potential clients for FossilDig. Rupert managed to allay most of his father's worries by pointing out that FossilDig could likely buy into rainbow capitalism more now, but look less conspicuous doing so. Nevertheless, Rupert's father remained too stuffy to follow through on such a business venture, and pride month sales remain anodyne. Joe Wildwest, meanwhile, not only dotes on his son, but has been absolutely vocal about LGBT rights since he noticed that Dino was gay. 'Noticed', rather than 'was told', since Dino never really came out—he just happened to have a first crush on a male, rather than female, classmate, and the family rolled with it from there.
-In the Patrol Team, Todd is the token straight on thin ice.
-P. A. Leon is gloriously and gorgeously aroace. Though she dated as a young woman, she came to realise she better enjoyed time spent alone with her Kraftwerk and Gary Numan records than time spent together with partners. Her team comprises solely dromaesauridae, and as such, long before she used the term 'asexual' on radio, many celebrated her apparent queerness.
-Diggins and Beth are both trans, and Diggins was the first person to popularise Aopteryx as a symbol of transness.
-Joe describes himself as straight, but also swoons over 70s & 80s rockstars. He's as straight as a 70s rockstar can be—that is, functionally bicurious at minimum. An, uh, 'extremely devoted ally'.
-Though Stryker gives extremely little away to the press, he's always been openly gay. It's not something he's ever wished to conceal; as such, he's the first openly queer head of the Wardens.
-Dahlia and Penny are probably the most prominent resident sapphic couple at INTERFOL.

Can't get enough of doodling fanmade boneysaurs lmao
This guy's designed to be a 'signature' Boneysaur (Like B-Ptera, Plesio, Tricera, and Jara) hence the unique coloration. Since the base lot's colour palettes were based on RGBW, I figured I'd go for CYMK for a secondary set. As for the Lightning motif, hey, if B-Ptera can be the moon then B-Onyx can be the storm that is approaching.
I'm not the best at designing or drawing human characters but I made this guy with eventually gaining a human partner in mind... I imagine whoever's using this guy as their ace would probably be way more energetic than any of the BBB characters we currently know. You'd need someone with super-high energy to keep up with this lightning-paced fishmonger.

Horizon WIP Post 14
The Phalanx Class Submarines were some of the last ships of the true PSSA Naval Fleet, gargantuan submersible vessels designed to skulk under the waves of the Earth’s oceans. Construction of these 8 behemoths took nearly 20 years to complete, and once they left dry dock in 2249, they would never return, a constant circumnavigation of the planet to ensure orbital second strike at any given time. These ships were basically floating cities, 620 meters long with a crew of 700, and a displacement in excess of 150,000 tonnes. They would not be alone in their journey, out of their launch bays they could field several Recon Simurghs and at least 2 modified Screech Owls, an eye in the sky for pinpointing targets in orbit. These Screech Owls would be different, not only would they bear a naval blue paint scheme, they would trail multi mile antennas behind them in an effort to communicate with allies across the ocean. These ships, true behemoths of Earth, would be the first and last terrestrial naval vessels powered by nuclear fusion, compact Tokamaks designed to work nearly silently, supplemented by a fission reactor for emergency starts that could power a city. Unlike submarines of old, these ships did not bear the traditional hallmarks of their suboceanic predecessors, rather they were focused entirely on surface stealth, heat shielding and wake production were kept to a minimum. Onboard, in the belly of the beast, their true might was contained. Six massive angled launch tubes, each 3.5 meters in diameter, bulged from the deck of the vehicle, containing the Volk Deep Space Missile, produced in the former Russian Republic - one of the last great heaves of engineering before environmental collapse in the region forced them southwards. A launch of a Volk would bring terror and destruction, the six storable first stage engines surrounding the Torch Drive nozzle would burn bright in the night sky, before the deep blue glow of the Torch would mean that a nuclear payload was well on its way to its target. The payload itself would consist of 2 50 megaton plasma enhanced weapons, with the shaping of the charge creating a cloud of plasma to devastate capital ships in orbit or glass a planetary surface - a truly fearsome weapon the likes of which the world had never seen. The Phalanx Class would see combat for the first time in 2263, with PSSA Buckler firing its first Volk against the ICM Hana Brigade, leading their first charge against Earth in the Second Terrestrial Campaign. Buckler however, was not the aggressor in this conflict, ICM cutter Hephaestus would fire a salvo of tungsten kinetic weapons at the sub, which evaded through a successful crash dive. Buckler would score a direct hit on Hephaestus, as well as destroying two Pykrete cruisers in the area.
While 7 of the subs would serve in their combat role, each to the seven seas of Earth, PSSA Silent Shield would be converted for a different purpose. She was to serve as the COGS - Continuity of Government Ship, where the PSSA High Council would be evacuated to in the event of Loss of Command Post. Her mission was simple, protect the council for long enough that a cruiser in orbit could line up to retrieve her barebones SSTO, launched from the converted flight deck. This SSTO would not be the comfortable standard of travel so many civilians were used to, rather, it would be optimized to deliver the council and their staff with minimal equipment if the planet was deemed lost. From there, a cruiser would attempt to make the run to Lunar Space, where they could regroup with a carrier force and hunker down in the Moon’s sphere of influence. An Atrues Class Mass Confinement Carrier would rendezvous with the executive cruiser, and take over the role of COGS.

Sad bcs given how the Fandom reacted to Rhea and Edel, IS might not continue to develop Fodlan. Ffs the devs had to make an interview to say no, Rhea didn't want to control the world nor lied to that effect, she wanted to protect her fam and rez her mom-God. Edel's the conqueror path, the bad ruler mandate of heaven wise, compared to Dimitri's role as the benevolent ruler. If stans are able to twist the barebones message of the game to suit their fantasy, then why bother making games? (1/2)
2/2 I guess jp Fandom doesnt have the US Edelstan brigade, so they must be pretty pissed when they see Edel still ranking that high on various polls a year after the release. Even if they planned to have a war of heroes dlc? Stans'd be "I don't want to play as rhea we know she's clearly evil look she killed that baby, I mean no but she killed that man who sided with Nemesis instead of sparring him so his potential children will die of hunger now/Wilhelm is a race traitor siding with dragons" :'(
I think us not getting any further Fódlan/3H DLC has almost nothing to do with the stans and more to do with the fact IS seem to have already tried to drop this game entirely. This game got nowhere near the level of DLC that Awakening/Fates did, none of the wacky beach or festival DLC maps that they got and even the extra story content that Fates got (well Japanese IF anyway....) was arguably more substantial than Cindered Shadow even if CS gave us new characters.
I don't think there was ever any intention of giving us War of Heroes DLC. The only way we're getting anything like that is maybe via Heroes which have shown they aren't afraid to upset the stans as shown by the Rhealeth Duo Unit.

VIDEO GAME REVIEW: BATTLE CHEF BRIGADE (BEST OF 2017)
Tumblr media
It’s been a great year for incredibly long games. In 2017, I’ve played at least 5 games that took me well over the 100-hour mark. In anticipation of those much longer reviews, I’ve decided to kick off my GOTY festivities with a small appetizer. An amuse-bouche, if you will. Prepare for a lot of cooking analogies.
Battle Chef Brigade
Developer: Trinket Studios (Published by Adult Swim Games)
Platform: Switch, Windows, Mac
Platform used for review: Switch
Battle Chef’s greatest success is the way in which it uses a completely original set of gameplay mechanics to perfectly capture the feeling of its real-world analog: Iron Chef. Seriously, I tried to find a less brand-specific way to describe it, but this is ‘Iron Chef: The Game’, from the secret ingredients and celebrity judges, right down to the overly dramatic, caped chairman.
Tumblr media
To bring the experience of Kitchen Stadium into the lives of the average microwave jockey, first-time developer ‘Trinket Studios’ has concocted a truly inspired combination of hack n’ slash combat, resource management, and fast-paced buzzer beater strategy. Play is divided into two areas. First, the field, where you use your characters combat skills to defeat monsters and collect ingredients. Each ingredient has a specific flavor profile, made up of a combination of elemental orbs. The key to effective hunting is to know what you plan to cook ahead of time. To that end, you’ll be given a list of guidelines to follow: judges preferences, number of meals, and the ever important key ingredient. How well you follow these guidelines will have drastic effects on your scores. If the secret ingredient calls for you to take down a massive monster (a dragon or a hydra), you’ll need to prioritize battle strategy over swiftness in order to claim your prize. If the ingredient calls for a specific element, then make sure you know exactly where to go in each of the games 4 hunting areas to get as much of that element as possible.
Tumblr media
Once your pouch is full, you’ll return to the kitchen to cook up your plunder. Cooking is a simple Match-3 puzzle concept, where 3 matched elemental orbs of the same color combine into a richer flavor, freeing up more space on the grid to fill with even more orbs. 3 level ones match to create a level 2, and so forth. Because you choose which orbs to add when you pick your ingredients, It’s not so much a puzzle game as it is competitive inventory management. Still, you’d be surprised just how addictive it is to try and cram as much flavor as possible into a single dish. You have to make sure you’re dividing your time properly between dishes to avoid disappointing the judges, not to mention keeping each of them free of bones and poison. You’ll have a selection of signature spices you can bring in to give yourself an edge, and your cookware can give your meals added bonuses like elemental affinities or higher bonuses for longer match strings.
Tumblr media
Each round pits you against an AI opponent, but you hunt in separate areas and the game conceals their cooking progress until the judging portion. This means your only real enemy is the clock. You never know just how well you have to do to win the round, so you’re always bringing your A-game, always fighting the clock to add one more splash of flavor to your dishes. It's a design decision that initially frustrated me, but I’ve grown to appreciate just how ingenious it is. Still, the idea of defending your kitchen from sabotage while also trying to derail your opponents dishes could have been an interesting concept, so I’m sad to see they didn’t try to implement it.
Tumblr media
I was definitely pleasantly surprised to find the gameplay equally engaging, but the visuals are definitely what led me to check this game out in the first place. Garnishing the entire experience are some killer visuals, decent voice performances, and a cast of loveable and memorable characters.  The character designer really nails that western-anime ‘Legend of Korra’ look, and their takes on classic fantasy tropes like orcs and harpies are pleasantly subtle and inviting. Color choices are striking and vibrant, with bold primaries for the cast and muted tones for the backgrounds.
Tumblr media
Some of the character and combat animations are a little too stilted and barebones for my taste (no turning animation? what is this? Castlevania 1?). Still, they’re more than serviceable and beautifully done considering indie production limitations. I find it hard to fault a low budget game for not being able to deliver the level of polish I’ve been spoiled with, especially for their first game, but stronger art direction could have definitely helped round off those rough edges.
Tumblr media
I’ve shared my little nitpicks, but If I had to find any major fault with Battle Chef Brigade, I’d say that it's simply too short. What’s on offer is undeniably compelling, but it plays its hand just a little too quickly. Perhaps the team was afraid of the mechanics getting a little stale with too much iteration, which, to be honest, is probably true. That being said, I feel like there’s still a lot of room for growth here, and I’d love to see how the concept can be further fleshed out with another trip to the drawing board.
There’s a pattern to the few faults I can find in this game. See if you can spot it. All my complaints are easy fixes based on peripheral elements. Basically, what I’m saying is: SEQUEL! MAKE A SEQUEL! MAKE A BIG LONG FLESHED OUT BEAUTIFULLY ANIMATED, BIG BUDGET SEQUEL! THIS GAME WAS POPULAR ENOUGH (I think?). C’MON, TRINKET! USE YOUR FANCY NEW MONEY AND GET TO WORK MAKING THE BEST DAMN COOKING PUZZLE MONSTER HUNTING GAME YOU CAN!
...*ahem* Still, that isn’t to say whats on offer feels like a proof of concept or an unfinished experience. As much as I know this IP has room to grow, I really enjoyed what I played. It wet my appetite perfectly and left me ready for seconds. I’ll definitely be putting Trinket on my ‘Developers To Watch’ list.

BATTLE CHEF BRIGADE (Nintendo Switch)
Final Score: B+ (Highly Recommended)
Pros: Inspired Core Gameplay, Beautiful Character Design, Room for Growth
Cons: Criminally Short, Limited Art Direction, Forgettable Soundtrack

Poland as a tourist destination is really still coming into its own. While people are rightly excited about places like Warsaw and Krakow, smaller or less conventional cities are still sorely overlooked. Lodz in central Poland was one such city, but after recently making Lonely Planet’s 2019 list of budget destinations things are bound to change.
Reading Lonely Planet’s list I was excited and pleased to see Lodz included. Having visited earlier this year I totally get it. What makes Lodz such a fascinating destination in Poland is how wildly different it is to other major attractions. Compared to Krakow, Warsaw or Gdansk, a visit to Lodz shows you a completely different side to the country. Here’s the 5 first reasons that spring to mind for why you should visit Lodz.
  An Alternative City
Start your Lodz visit out on the wrong foot and its easy to worry that it’s a rundown, grey place. Lodz is certainly a city in transition so yes it does have some rough edges. But give it even a little chance and it will soon begin to reveal its charms to you. Many of the things to do in Lodz comes from its more recent history and its creative approach to the future.
Sure, the city doesn’t have the conventional Old Town you so often find in Poland, but that’s just fine. To visit Lodz is try to see Poland in a new, decidedly alternative, light. A great example of how different the attractions in Lodz are is the complex of Księży Młyn. Translating as “priest’s mill”, this former industrial mill was a major business in the 19th century. It was so important it had its own train station, hospital and fire brigade. Today, the remaining factories and tenements house families, cafes like Kreatoora and a general sense of promise that it will find new life, somehow.
A Hub of Creativity and Street Art
The most obvious trait that comes through when visiting Lodz is that it’s a cradle of creativity and artistic expression. This seems to be the thread that the city is following as it evolves and boy is it the right one. Emphasising reinvention, ingenuity and spurning convention is how the city will become a truly unique destination in Poland.
While much of this creativity is out there to be seen, it turns out it’s not all easily seen. For example, I found it curious to read that Lodz was fast becoming a hub for local filmmakers. In fact, it is the city’s work with film that has earned it a place in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network as a “City of Film“.
The real star of the show though is the countless awesome pieces of street art in Lodz. Scattered throughout the city centre all the way up to the Old Town you’ll find great big murals that take over the side of a building. There are maps that plot out many of the pieces, but I’d argue not all, so it’s worth wandering aimlessly as well. I could probably have just done a whole article showcasing the street art I found during my time in Lodz, but here were my favourites.
A Few of the Classic Sights
Despite its unconventional nature, you will find that Lodz also has some more typical sights to see. While quite nice, I’d argue that they’re not enough on their own to keep you entertained. No, you need Lodz’s offbeat and artistic elements to make the city what it is.
That said, you can’t visit Lodz without coming to the simply classic Piotrkowska Street. This grand long pedestrian street effectively takes the place of a main square, acting as the city’s beating heart. Along it you’ll find plenty of remarkable buildings, not to mention outdoor seating for cafes, bars and restaurants galore.
Other noteworthy landmarks in the middle of Lodz include the Izrael Poznański Palace with its dignified architecture and the enticing presence of the Parafia Zesłania Ducha Świętego church. Besides a few other churches and parks, most of the Lodz sights aren’t all that traditional.
  All Sorts of Architecture
My first real exposure to Lodz was seeing several photos of old industrial buildings in a complex that had been converted. This turned out to be the Manufaktura complex, something I knew I had to visit in person. Featuring shops, cinemas and even a cultural centre incorporating multiple museums, Manufaktura in the Lodz Old Town has been transformed to serve the community.
What really struck me though was the architecture of the complex, with the bright red brick and huge factory windows. I like to call this design Neo-Industrial architecture, but have no idea what it’s actually called in architectural circles. Another great example in Lodz is the Planetarium EC1 just over the way from the equally eye-catching Łódź Fabryczna train station. It seems to be a special obsession in central Poland, as I first encountered this type of thing in Poznan.
But it’s not all gentrification and modernity here. Lodz still has it’s fair share of renaissance-era and art nouveau architecture. A walk along Piotrkowska Street with its various palaces and buildings shows the city still has some ties to its past, even though quite a few buildings were demolished. The one constant with Piotrkowska Street though is that it has a sense of grandeur that has sadly been lost elsewhere in the city.
  Another Side to Polish Food
Lodz’s creative nature doesn’t just stop at art, film and architecture though. Food also seems to have been given the modern treatment. Maybe that’s to be expected from Poland’s third biggest city, but still it was yet another exciting development. Rather than milk bars or traditional Polish cuisine, the range of restaurants seemed to be more international and feel more adventurous.
This approach was most felt in the OFF Piotrkowska development found as its name suggests, off Piotrkowska Street. Found in and around an old industrial site, this complex has everything from food trucks to chic restaurants and bars. There’s a reason that visiting this cool, reclaimed space is on many a Lodz travel guide.
But sure, there are also places that do local cuisine mixed with traditional elements from elsewhere in Eastern Europe like at Servantka Restaurant with its Ukrainian dishes. And of course, there’s always eating delicious pączki, the perfect Polish doughnuts that I can’t get enough of. They’re found everywhere, especially at places like Manufaktura and on Piotrkowska Street. Just so hard to stop at one.
  Visiting Lodz Poland
One of the great things about visiting Lodz is that it’s possible to do as a day trip from Warsaw. Taking only 1 hour 20 minutes by train, a day trip to Lodz is probably your best choice when looking to get out of the Polish capital. Warsaw also happens to be the closest major city to Lodz, so it’s a natural fit. I’d also argue that you can hope to see a lot of the city within a day, making it an all round good idea.
But perhaps its my experience with accommodation in Lodz that is driving the idea of a day trip. My choice of where to stay in Lodz was a rather barebones hotel that was so mediocre it’s really not worth mentioning either way. Especially when there are plenty of places to stay in Lodz, across all budgets. If you do have the money however, I have heard good things about the lux Vienna House Andel’s right by Manufaktura.
Have you ever visited Lodz in Poland before? How much sway does being included on a Lonely Planet list have with you? Please share your thoughts in the comments below.

B-Ankylo
Tumblr media
From Yellow to Cyan, we have the second in our CYMK themed 'signature' fan-Boneysaur designs, the formidable Earth attribute B-Ankylo! Wanted to give it a secondary motif just like I did with B-Onyx, and therefor decided to give it a diamond theme, with crystalline formations replacing its spikes, claws, and club. I imagine the person who uses this Boneysaur as their signature would be headstrong and at times abrasive and quick tempered, but kind hearted to those they care about. B-Ankylo itself would both synergize and contrast with their partner at the same time in this regard. Don't have names or designs for any of the humans who'd use these yet but I'm starting to think of ideas... Next post will of course be the Magenta Boneysaur, which well... is gonna be a little different from the last two to say the least... (and I also may or may not start to show off some other cool FF related things I got in store.)

Fanmade Boneysaur concepts.
Hot Take but there really wasn't enough boneysaurs in FFC, tons of animal design niches were missed out on and they didn't even make an Earth type so the type balancing was hella off with these guys. So hey, figured I'd doodle some of my own to rectify a few of the issues I had with the diversity in the group.
Tumblr media
First up is B-Pachy, a Mid-Range Earth attribute Vivosaur based on the original Pachy, with some extra spikiness that almost makes it a 'Dracorex' proxy (since we almost defo ain't getting a Dracorex vivosaur given its lumping into the Pachycephalosaurus genus and 'Stygimoloch/P. Spinifier' species). He gives off Dry Bones vibes with his face and I really dig that, makes them unintentionally kinda endearing tbh.
Tumblr media
B-Breme, a Mid-Range Fire attribute Vivosaur, is a funky little fellow, designed to looks more like an actual Alvarezsaur compared to base Breme, but with the exaggerated features some of the other Boneysaurs have (Sorry B-Rex, you're not the only Boneysaur with Dracula fangs anymore.) I imagine this dude would be fairly miniscule compared to the other Boneysaurs and therefor even less health than usual (which is saying a lot), but would have nasty FP stealing and Poison moves to compensate.
Tumblr media
B-Stego, a Close-Range Air attribute, is a no-brainer as far as fanmade Boneysaurs go. Gave this one lunar looking plates, which would probably look really nice alongside B-Ptera's giant moon crest, maybe in another timeline this was one of Don Boneyard's signature vivosaurs too? Oh and BTW, the neck armor on Stegosaurs is really underappreciated, had to sneak that in the design too. (I actually nearly made a B-Kentro instead cus of the extra side spikes, but ended up doing Stego since it feels more like something the FFC devs would have actually made.)
That's all for now, still got a few concepts for other Boneysaurs that I might draw eventually, as well as a ton of original vivosaur ideas that I wanna try, so I'll definitely be posting more of these soon.

B-Plesio!
Tumblr media
And here's a post for all the fellow BareBones Brigade appreciators out there, the frightfully adorable (and surprisingly huge) B-Plesio!
Random Trivia: It's actually the only signature Boneysaur to match its element with its bone colour, as it is blue while also being a water attribute. (B-Ptera is white and air, B-Jara is green and fire, and B-Tricera is red and also water.) Not only is B-Plesio objectively the best boneysaur design wise ;p (funnily enough it happens to be owned by objectively the best BBB member too), but it's also the apparently the most viable in competitive battling out of the 7 standard Boneysaurs (though unfortunately that's not saying very much given how easily Boneysaurs tend to be KOed), of course if we throw Salada into the mix then the poor skele-plesiosaur gets blown out of the water, but Salada's like, legit one of the strongest vivosaurs in the series so that's to be expected.

B-Temno
Tumblr media
And now from Cyan to Magenta, we have the third 'major' Bonesaur of the CYMK themed set, B-... Temno? "Wait, there's no Temno in Fossil Fighters" some of you may say. Of course not, but they really didn't make enough Ichthyosaur Vivosaurs, I love Shoni but the big guy can't be alone forever. This guy's a Neutral element and quite the mysterious Vivosaur indeed. Supposedly an early attempt at synthesizing customized Boneysaurs lead to the creation of this creature, yet not much else is known about it. Even its human partner isn't exactly sure of the circumstances in its creation.

Joe Wildwest – Don of Accents
(As ever, expect spoilers for Champions.)
It’s Saturday night in Ribular Town, and Joe sees Stella passing in the hall. Far too tired to take anything seriously, he says ‘How’re ya doing?’, and Stella jumps in fright, for Joe, in his boredom, has just affected an uncannily accurate Cockney accent.
That’s not his only trick: If there’s an accent, Joe’s mastered it. Once he’s heard five words out of anyone’s mouth, he can imitate their voice with shocking precision. Although he’s good all around, his Geordie’s a practical facsimile of the original, and his Scottish and Welsh likewise. (He never quite nailed Oirish.) His German’s as German as German can be, and his Received Pronunciation has been practiced to perfection.
…Or not quite.  Whilst all of Don Boneyard’s announcements were made in Received Pronunciation, following his initial declaration of ‘We’re sinking the islands, tossers’, a YouTube video made by a team of linguists and phonetics experts went up – and went viral. It was called Don Boneyard: Fake Brit. In its 16-minute runtime, it identified and analysed approximately ten accent slips Don had made. Interestingly, there were far more in the third speech than the first and second – by then, he was struggling to find the energy to maintain his voice. The most obvious mistakes were a tendency to nasalise final ‘ee’ (IPA ‘i’) sounds (rather than to open them into ‘e’s),  and a predisposition to enunciating long, broad diphthongs; however, his pronunciation of the ‘ahs’ in ‘this park shall be mine’ featured some short, nasalised ‘a’ sounds (even approaching æ at times) coupled later with overly broad ‘ahs’ where there should have been ‘æ’ (the ‘a’ in ‘cat’) sounds instead. There were also a couple of theatrically over-articulated words – likely Joe compensating for his typically flat speech – paired with some missed diphthongs (no ‘ʊ’ at the end of ‘bow down’, which became a drawn-out ‘bah dahn’). In his final speech, he outright collapsed into his native Jersey accent for half a sentence. Don’s mistakes weren’t constant – they were few and far between (at least until the ‘sinking the islands’ spiel), but highly amusing.
Don Boneyard: Fake Brit provided great consolation to the people of Caliosteo as they were in peril. Unbelievably, the clip used towards the end to demonstrate the North Jersey crack… was a snippet of Joe Wildwest in an interview. Even more ironically, the phonologists took the last minute of the video to point out a couple of times Joe’s accent had seemed to slip over the past couple of years. When the real Joe admitted he’d been Don all along over Mammoth Vision, he referenced Don Boneyard: Fake Brit before proceeding to deliver the whole thing in Don’s voice. (And he had most certainly practiced fixing the issues which had plagued his previous announcements.)
Later, Dino, who runs a fairly popular comedy YouTube channel, uploaded a video series named Don Boneyard could have been…, featuring Joe revoicing his old speeches in other accents. (Specifically, Don could’ve been a ‘bogan’, featuring Joe’s surprisingly accurate regional Australian, a ‘sour kraut’, ‘Dick Van Dyke’ – which featured a deliberately hackneyed Cockney – or ‘Neil Finn’, a ridiculous New Zealand squeal.) They went just as viral as Don Boneyard: Fake Brit – and made Joe’s accent ability meme fodder globally.
