A little background: Before Shiin, there was Ares. Ares was born when the 13th was still thriving, in his life there he climbed the ranks of council and only had a brother and nephew whom he called family.

After the fall, Ares watched all the horrors happen before it even touched him fully. Reason is still unknown. He eventually became a creature similar to a ShadowKeeper. Many years later, he became allies with others like him, together they traveled to the source and perfected the art of mimicking and body shifting. When Ares would die for example, he would simply come back as another whose body was stolen for him, along with their names.

They built a vast fortune and had multiple businesses in Kugane. Ares became an assassin, killing for Aether.

One time however, he was sent to a camp in the Azim Steppe. Killing every single one, except for a newborn Au'ra. Not fully knowing why, it reminded him of something he thought lost forever...his nephew Cullen.

Things went well for the next couple of years, Ares adopted the name 'Shiin' along with the baby.

Like all things, it didn't take long for the bad events catch up. Cullen was 10 when he was taken, Shiin had paid for his sins. Or so they would have you believe, Shiin traveled the source landing in a place called Limsa. Well specifically Aleport docks, where he finally found his son. Who was now a guard captain and 27 summers old.

He eventually reunited with him and things were looking up once more, before Ares started to come back for control. See, Ares didn't want to accept this. For he knew how much the 13th was so much better and how he can't give up on that.

He had a mission to destroy the source and take Cullen back with him 'home' but he was killed by Shiin's old lover.

Now, Ares and Shiin are forced to share a body.

(Very rough outline, if you decide to RP with him, beware of surprising things popping up from his past.)

Strange question: are there people out there on Balmung who’d participate in an egg-and-spoon race held before Hatching-Tide’s end?

I was originally sitting on this idea for the next @greening-coerthas seasonal festival, but it’s going to end up being so long after Hatching-Tide that it doesn’t really fit anymore. But... I really like this idea. But maybe I’m just an utter weirdo for it, hence: interest check.

How about it? Some pop-up silly RP in Gridania, /random-based scoring, and I can post a gil prize for the winning team. A family-friendly event! Friday the 30th, maybe? ?????? ?

What is Lunar Rose Academy? The school is centered around the theme of adventure; the curriculum consists of activities and lessons that will prepare the students for a life of adventuring, offering practical knowledge on topics such as combat, first-aid and magic, and many more! Both the teachers and students at Lunar are players roleplaying their characters. In addition we have characters that work as school staff, for example running security. We have a free company house that serves as the school grounds, but we also often venture out to the vast world of Eorzea too!

Lyara was born in the dotharl tribe out in the steppes. Her mother was a raen and the reason why the woman was allowed near that rather heavy religious type is unknown. At some point, said woman had some more deeper interactions and the mixed girl was soon born. The girl got taught the xaelic and hingan language and left the, for her, strange place, to find a home in the shrouds. Rumors said that she was not font of the the way her scales grew. That the colors made her feel out of place and she rather have interactions with some who didn’t had scales at all then her own -tribe-. Thankfully some of the wildwood elezen took the woman to their place and taught her a more professional handling of bow and arrow. She still takes jobs from the Archer’s guild to keep the shrouds save. Today she own a small little place in a teashop and makes bows and arrows on request. Of course any sort of hunting job is welcome, as long as she can keep some parts of fur, claws and/or fangs.

Hunting RP/Partners: Hunting alone is dangerous and boring. Why not asking to join and share. Or even better..bring a mission and she will follow to simply help out.

Clients: She gladly will make your own personal bow or ammunition to make your hunting go smooth

Conflict: Poachers are interesting with stepping up and trying to yank away the prey she got.

People with different weapons: As much as she loves the traditional way of going out and seeking out her target, she is extremely curious in nature. She is always willed to give a try in different weapons or even magic.

Hey there. I’m looking for more people to do RP with on Balmung or the same data center. I’ve got a lot of free time since I’m recovering from a surgery so... Here are my boys if any of them seem interesting. I’m not looking to do a big plot for myself, but rather to have my characters more or less come along for a ride or be utilized in interesting ways. Feel free to DM me here or in game. I’m MOST LIKELY to be on Therron at any given time.

My MAIN, my BOY. Therron Basque. 

He’s a “retired” Dragoon from Ishgard who could be be described as currently going through an existential crisis. He’s realized he spent most of his life on a war he didn’t really care about for a family that is mostly dead. He takes odd jobs, mostly as a delivery boy. He’s experienced a lot of trauma and is pretty prone to panic attacks.

Goro Dhamaka

This Hrothgar was kicked out of his home by a rival gang and now he’s traveling the world trying to get stronger so he can beat them. They won because guns so he has a vendetta against anyone who uses weapons. Real strength comes from your OWN BODY. So he chooses to fight with nothing but his BARE FISTS. Goro loves brawling, chatting mad shit, and drinking. In general he’s aggressive and mean. But at his core, he’s just a man who lives to become stronger and enjoys the struggle.

Xaxareaux Garnin

Xaxa is a rather easy going Lalafell. He was a pirate for a long time along side his dad until he decided stealing from people was stupid. He came to Thanalan a long while ago to reunite with his no diseased sister. They formed a Free Company together that has long since been defunct. Despite this, Xaxa keeps moving on with a sense of optimism and zeal for life. He’s just trying to have a good time and make new friends. He’s got a quick temper that often flares up when others threaten those he cares for or those who can’t defend themselves. Protective by nature, Xaxa loves his big sword that’s big and wide enough he can partly use it like a shield. 

Sven Volkorus

The legendary Black Mage returns from what seemed to have been death... In reality, clever Sven faked his demise to free himself from near familiar relationships that were getting a little too close for his liking. He returned from his vacation in Doma to look for his lost student, Nanarou (Xaxa’s sister). Far older than he was his last time in Eorzea, he lacks the energy to cause the fuss he once did. His aching wrists and back might be a boon for those who cross him, however. Sven’s superior magical talent might have diminished with age, but his cruel nature an temper surely haven’t.

Relic from a Bygone Age - Sandor remembers before the Garlean’s ran across of his home of Ilsabard, before magitek allowed them to conquer most of the continent. Not only does he hold a wealth of wisdom and stories, his mind holds several fighting techniques with Gunblades and age old Aether manipulation teachings from his tribe.

Rotten Luck - Sandor has bad luck! He is stubborn in his old ways and seems karma has come back to haunt him as he finds himself in poor situations or deals.

Wandering Elder - Sandor considers himself in his prime still, but his age is showing. Gray hairs have begun to show in his white fur and one could easily take his admittedly aged look as someone in danger in the wilds.

New to the World - Maiyr has only freshly left the Salyt clan, who are notoriously secluded in the deepest parts of The Black Shroud. Because of this she has much of the world to explore and find, making it easy for Maiyr to run into fellow travelers out in the world.

Hunter - A hunter from birth, Maiyr is still learning how the trade of civilized world works. She’s willing to track, hunt, and kill beasts for respectable purposes.

Woodland Guide - Maiyr has lived in parts of The Black Shroud that have yet to be settled by civilized folk and thus has intricate knowledge of the most dangerous parts of the woods. She is capable of guiding individuals or parties to their goal in the unfamiliar woods.

Raging Magic - Aether courses through Maiyr and erupts in unstable and often disastrous spells most often when emotions boil past the point of tolerable or dire situations leave her no choice. This magic takes a tole on the Keeper, but while she has no training her magic seems potent. Those well trained in magic and looking for a pupil may find great potential in her, or those who fear it may feel the need to tame it for good.

Arcane Science: Vi is a budding Artificer and always up for a challenge. Using runic diagrams not unlike a scholar’s spell-work, she can imbue items with wards and spell triggers, and is a deft hand at curses. Animated objects can be created for a large sum. As a young mage - results and mileage may vary. Buyer beware.

Arcane as Art: Though a complex process, Vi enjoys working directly on the skin to apply her craft. She employs both permanent tattooing and temporary aetheric ink painted on the skin to boost a single casting instance. The tattoos are often animated for aesthetic.

Wanderer: Viola is newly traveling outside of her home of Sharlayan, on a mission of discovery. What she’s seeking isn’t known, but the keeper is (mostly) unflappable and dauntless on her journey to traverse the continent. Clean Sweep: Needing to make money on her own, Vi has taken to offering a maid service. Animating objects to attend to dusty households leaves her free to read and do other actives. It’s a great idea, in theory. In theory. Dream, Dream, Dream: Astrologians, Oracles, and Fortune-tellers have always sought to discover fates and futures through various means, and Vi’s talent emerged in the unwaking world. Able to connect and walk the dreams of others or impart visions of her choosing, the keeper explored this ability for a time. Now she’s reluctant to use it, but can be persuaded in certain cases.

Sharlayans: In her late years, Viola was not known for following the rules and being a Good Member of Society. Depending on how connected other Sharlayans are, they may know the reason she left the Old World. Tribal Beginnings: Viola has wandered from the ways of her people, and may seek to rediscover them if influenced in that direction.

I am open to most kinds of rp in moderation and balance, in para to multi-para form. I prefer story and questing rp the most, in tabletop dnd style. If you would like to set up a scene please ask! I do both in game and discord rp. Not in an FC yet, but I have one in mind when they re-open applications. I’d love to hang out with other FCs and do events, regardless.

My rp has a healthy amount of custom lore but I try to keep it believable within the examples we’ve been given in the world setting.

Fluff, Shipping, and ERP - for any of this to happen the stars need to align with the chemistry of our characters through organic roleplay. I enjoy the exercise of writing smut at times, but don’t have the desire to heavily focus my energy into it (I can have a little smut. MEMES.). Likewise, too much cuddling relationship rp and I get a little bored. All is fine in moderation, with other story elements woven in.

I am still working out some of the details in regards to her character so there may be some blank spots or minor changes as I get a feel for what direction I want her stories to go, please bear with me!

Looking for contacts for Kharadai Dhoro!

Stormblood is almost here and with it, I am sure, a moment of glory for RPers of Othardians. I have my very own Xaela who I’m planning to bring out in early Stormblood, as he leaves the far corners of the Azim Steppe to encounter the rest of the world. Maybe you’d like your character to meet him? :o

Kharadai, an approximately 18-year-old boy raised in a branch of the Dhoro tribe, will arrive on the scene probably speaking only bizarre, archaic Xaelic and none of the common tongue. But he seeks contact with the “Southern People” of Doma and beyond out of an intense curiosity about the world, aetherology and natural history, and a desire to learn everything.

We of course won’t know exactly where and what the available in-game RP settings are until the MSQ takes us there. But assuming the Azim Steppes will be a location ripe for Xaela tribe RP and/or a peaceful point of contact between the steppe Xaela and the rest of the world, I would be interested in making contact with anyone who might like to encounter Kharadai on his journey south and have their character provide advice, protection, and companionship (even if temporarily) so he doesn’t get eaten by Garleans. While I imagine non-isolationist steppe Xaela would fall into such a role the most naturally, anyone interested could potentially work as long as you don’t mind language barriers at first.

More about me, Kharadai, and what I’m looking for (or not):

I’m in EST and usually play evenings but I have very wide availability, especially if we schedule beforehand.

My natural tendency is towards low-powered slice-of-life RP, but I try to be adaptable and accomodating to my RP partner’s likes and preferences. I like being able to facilitate other people’s character development and stories.

My RP style is probably closest to “single-para heavy RP” but I think of myself as laid-back, adaptable, non-judgmental, so don’t be shy if you’re a beginner roleplayer or a non-native English speaker.

I am very over 18 and do not mind dark or sexual themes in roleplay... but I’m not usually that interested in them. I’m not looking for romantic or sexual relationships for Kharadai. Gender and sexuality talk, though, could be interesting.

Kharadai can do basic cooking, sewing, wool-spinning, hide-cleaning, and campsite maintenance tasks, and he’d be willing to work for food and shelter along the way to wherever he’s going.

Kharadai also has some knowledge of his tribe’s idiosyncratic thaumaturgy and shamanistic divination/healing, but he’s not a very strong fighter. Fightin’ Things RP wouldn’t be a good fit, but healer RP, maybe.

He wants to learn everything, so meeting mage, scholar, and lore teachers is probably in his future, but this may not happen right away because of language barriers.

He could conceivably join a well-suited FC, but I’d need to get to know you first in order to feel comfortable, and as Kharadai is one of my many alts, you’d have to be comfortable with me splitting my focus.

Linkshells would be loved!

Kharadai’s main incarnation is on Balmung, but I am happy to RP over Discord or Tumblr as well, and when/if he reaches Eorzea I could roll doppelgangers of him on other servers.

A thin silvery line runs over her left cheekbone, from just below her eye, slanting down towards her hairline. The scar is only noticeable from very close up.

Her tail is shorter than most miqo’te, the scarring at the tip implying that it was likely cut off halfway up.

Common Accessories: Mila is rarely seen without ankle-length garments, favoring leggings and skirts. She wears an elbow-length leather glove on her left arm. This is the norm for her, even in hot areas.
