This one REALLY hurt. Lots of materials and tests runs that worked just fine - of course the actual entries for the show are ruined by an epoxy fail. First sticky and gross batch since the “Beetlejuice” incident (@rorosilvers / @linksterlove knows EXACTLY what I’m talking about) Not a single issue with pouring the resin testers. Sigh. I haven’t liked anything I’ve made in awhile. These were REALLY cool looking before I poured the resin and debated if I should or not. Testing Derwent Inktense Blocks. The application on my fabrics was much easier and quicker. I was worried I wouldn't get the same sharp lines as with the pencils, but it is achievable. When wetting the ink there was far less running as with the pencils. However...I did a rub test with both inktense pencil and inktense block, after they had dried, and so much more of the block particles remained unfixed on the surface of the fabric. I believe this is because it needs far more friction, and thorough washing, to achieve permanent colour fastness. Something that would be difficult to do on a delicate, highly textured 3d form. Whoa.🌃 Tonight I’m trying something new—Instagram via the desktop. Wild!       I’ve been seeing stories about how the desktop version is rolling out 🎢 but I didn’t know if it would work for me. This is a long-wished for option. 🤞 I just opened Instagram on my browser and there was the “➕” at the top of my page on the Chrome browser. What does this mean for the average user? Assuming it works, I think it will result in a more efficient workflow. ⏳ One thing won’t change—figuring out the visual content you’re going to share. 🎬🖼️ But that means working on a desktop 💻where there is more control could result in better images. 🔎 When it comes to composing an extended caption, ⌨️ some of us like to check spelling✅ and keep an eye on the character count. That usually means writing in another app, like Word. 📄 Until now, it has been necessary to import the text into Instagram 📲when it’s ready. I usually email it to myself,📨 then copy and paste it into Instaspacer to clean up the copy. (Sometimes Instagram acknowledges line breaks, but not always.) 🙂🙃 It’s not too much more work, but as we all try to squeeze every moment of productivity out of our time, ⏱️ being able to skip a step or two is great. 🏃‍♀️ Since I’m just now going through the process, 🤹‍♀️ maybe more discoveries will emerge. Back to the basics. After running into yet another roadblock in my first draft of my WIP, I’ve decided to go back to the drawing board. Perhaps, I’m not a pantser or discovery writer—at least, not fully. I’ve decided that since this is a project that I plan to be standalone, I could try to plot it a bit more than I would normally plot or plan a book. If I use what I’ve gathered during this time, then great. If not…well, at least I have something to look back on in order to help me get out of a tight spot in my writing. I’ve had two (going on three) brainstorming sessions so far and I’ve enjoyed each and every one of them. The ability to allow my creativity to flow without the pressure of writing words down in a draft is amazing. I wish I would’ve convinced my stubborn brain to do this sooner. * * So what about you?
