Video editing (I do it for a living but I always feel like there's a lot to learn and a lot I don't know yet)

Behavior analysis. I've always thought it was a cool branch of psychology and I've been reading up on it since I was 12, but there's just SO MUCH more of it out there for me to read about!

Early childhood education. I'm a child magnet, I've worked with kids before, I'm getting a fresh batch of littles in the family and I plan on volunteering with kids again, so I'd like to learn new things and stay updated on the latest way to make them... the best and least traumatized little humans possible.

hedgehog - Do you have pets? If yes, what do they mean for you?

I have two dogs, Apollo (black and white baby) and Pooka (white and brown-ish baby). They're both mixed and they're both male and they're both getting a little old now, which... makes me sad, but they're both, thankfully, very healthy. They mean everything to me, they make every single day a little brighter and they're very in tune with everyone's feelings. They're very caring dogs. I have no idea what I'll do when they're gone.

🌽Maize: weirdest encounter on the street

Oh god where to even start. I wish I had any that didn't have to do with, like, street harassment, but alas. What comes to mind off the top of my head is my friend and I went to London and got all dressed up to go Out-out but it was like 6pm on a Thursday so we looked like heauxs and were very self aware of the fact and these two dudes RAN LIKE THREE BLOCKS to catch up with us just to ask us if we were American (??). They were like out of breath and everything. Idk I h8 it here.

🔥Bonfire: dream house

We rent and really like renting, though we are in an area where most people our age own houses. We have great amenities, management, location, access, etc. So where we are is kind of our dream!

BUT: if we did make the jump to owning. It would have a huge state of the art kitchen and an outdoor pizza oven and a garden all for my hobbit of a husband. I would want a fenced in yard for my dog, and so I could get my dog a dog. And I would want my own space as my studio/office/dance room where i can paint and write and record erotica and play on my pole and keep my pet snake 🐍

Hello, wanna hear more about him, well here we go~

I didn’t know what exactly you wanted to know so I’ll start with…

His physical attributes ;)

He’s 5’10”, making him shorter to his lanky older brother who’s 6’4”. His head is covered in unkept golden blonde waves of curls, rarely brushing them. He’s not very keen on shaving, he doesn’t find the necessity in the silly little task, resorting to a little trimming but that’s all you’re getting. Despite his anger issues he’s a very happy go lucky guy, always flashing a toothy smile, so without a doubt you’ll see his adorable tooth gap. Kissable pink petal lips and light freckles that only adds to his charm.

His childhood..

Well, his mother was very sick, even before having kids. She had a incurable chronic illness which would eventually kill her. She died when he and his brother was very young. His father becoming a utter wreck and drunken himself till he was eventually deemed unsuitable to raise his sons, leaving his older brother to take over the house. He was always called “dumber than a bag of rocks”, while this was true, his grades evident of that fact, didn’t mean he wasn’t immune from feeling a certain type of way about it, developing not only a sensitivity but an insecurity over it. In retaliation, he would just go around beating up, just about anyone who would say so. Always resorting to violence first, since he wasn’t smart enough to find other ways to go about things. Hence ✨anger issues✨.

Funny how I still don’t have a name for him, I’m usually good finding names for my OCs, oh well 🤷🏾‍♀️ . This was fun, thanks for sending in this ask. I don’t want to give up too much about him, so this would be all, unless you send me another ask. I purposely left it vague, so you’ll come back into my inbox begging for more 😂

Wow, you just went straight for the difficult one, didn't you??? Gosh, I am enamored by so many AUs. I love seeing all the scenarios people come up with. I realize this is going to come off as a non-answer, but... I think a perfect AU is: well constructed, the characters aren't wildly OOC (yes some details will obviously have to change but they're still "them"), the author's emotions and passion for the story come through and don't feel forced.

Tooth Fairy woke before his alarm, as he occasionally did when he had been wired the day before, and looked at his watch. 2:30 PM, about half an hour before he usually got up.

Sleeping beside him with her back to him was his girlfriend, Alpha. She held the covers to her chest, but the blanket had slipped a bit when he had poked an arm out to check the time. Feeling the air on her bare back, she half woke up and curled up even tighter.

He fixed the blanket and draped an arm over her, warming her back with his chest and lightly nuzzling her neck. The faint vanilla scent of her hair filled his nose, and he sighed. To sleep or not to sleep? He still had a half hour before his alarm started to go off.

Alpha sighed and leaned into his attentions. "Mornin', luv."

He chuckled throatily and kissed her where her jaw met her ear. "Afternoon's more like it."

"It's mornin' somewhere." she grinned, not opening her eyes. "Mm, you're in a good mood today."

"I get to wake up next to you. I'm in a great mood." He propped himself up on an elbow and leaned over her to kiss her cheek.

"Well, you're in some kind of mood..." she chuckled.

"Mm, no..." Well, he wasn't until she said that. "Well..."

Something broke in the kitchen, and they heard Myles give a dismayed 'darn it' before the sounds of sweeping reached their room. And if they could hear that...

Alpha moved to get up, but Roy gently held her back. She could have easily broken his light grip, but she settled back down again. The mood was broken, but the bed was soft. And warm.

"Stay a while?" he whispered.

Alpha turned to face him, resting her forehead against his. "Aye. Raincheck on the other?"

"Mm-hmm." They were almost asleep again when his alarm started to blare 'The Final Countdown', and he groaned before rolling over to turn it off. "Rats..."

🎃Lantern: best friend lore

Sorry babe you opened up the floodgates on this one.

I have several best friends and all their lore is remarkable. One of them I've known since I was four and we bonded over our love for spiders and playing dress up and wanting to marry each other instead of boys (ew). One of them introduced my husband and I to each other when we were all fifteen. We've all kept each other all these years and have survived a lot of shit. I quite literally wouldn't be here without her. One of them is my platonic soulmate I met as an adult and she is my James in that, there is no real word for what we are to each other but there doesn't really have to be. There's a lot of choice and intentionality in our relationship.

And this doesn't even cover the iron-clad relationships I have with several other important groups of people, who are all my family in every way that matters.

I have kind of a thing about friendships I think, about not being afraid to commit to them, to let the love in, to make all the long distance work. That's something I've learned about myself in adulthood.

And I think I also have to acknowledge my high school best friend here. We are still friends and love each other very much, but our relationship is different now from what it was fifteen years ago. Sometimes I wish I could tell her she was my first love, and I wish I had had the space and the language to have told her that back then.

😬Amber: Unpopular opinion

I really couldn't care less to debate fandom characterizations so I'll make this about something real bc it's my blog and I care about this.

TW: infertility, pregnancy, family separation, adoption, queer parenthood

I have learned a lot about the realities of the institution of adoption, things I didn't know until I started looking into it after I couldn't have biological children. After literal years of research, therapy, following and listening to the voices of adult adoptees, I largely don't support adoption, at least in the way most Americans/Westerners consider it. I am RABID about the intersectionality between children's liberation and queer liberation, not to mention all the other identities that overlap when you're discussing these topics: race, class, sex, gender, religion, etc.

*THIS POST IS NOT COMING FOR ANYONE I promise. Also, just to spell it out in case there was a shed of doubt, I do not believe a set type of person or people is better suited to raise a family than another. BEING A GOOD PARENT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR GENDER OR ORIENTATION. I just happen to occupy a very unique little corner of the evangelical>infertile>queer agnostic pipeline that gives me unpopular opinions on, say, a lot of adoption tropes in queer fanfic. Tropes i would have seen absolutely nothing wrong with before learning from adoptees. I am thrilled to point people to resources and activists in this space if you would like to learn more. I am also thrilled to ignore/block/delete anyone wanting to have an argument on the godforsaken internet. That's not for this page, pick another one 😊

Tldr: adoption tropes in fic and media in general---epecially baby-on-the-doorstep/infant adoption--is not a viable happily ever after ending for a queer couple to me.

I know, I know, very late im so sorry once again 😅. But here I am!

I still don’t have a name for the warehouse worker, I was thinking maybe Jim? But it dosen’t feel right to me. But he’s a very tall man, standing 6’3, brunette, beefy, everything you would expect from hardworking labour man. The reader in that story is very much the girl-next-door. The reader is a werewolf (if you didn’t already infer from the fic) and there’s a whole culture that comes with that part of her identity, and sometimes provides difficulties in her life. Like dating example, and so that’s where it’s going that story, I don’t have the Yandere fully fleshed out yet, so we’ll see in the future possibly 🤷🏾‍♀️ .

Now for the number 6, he’s not very fleshed out only because there’s sooo many things I could do with his character that I can’t wrap my mind around. The main idea is that he’s the leader of a gang of bandits, setting is the Wild West. Idk what kind of woman the reader would be, she could be a rich girl from a fallen family, rich girl held hostage, girl almost turned into prostitute, etc. He has a scarred face, and generally leads to everyone avoiding him ever since he was a kid, because they were all afraid of him and didn’t want to “catch” what he had, leading him even now as an adult to wear a face covering because he hates the way he looks and he hates all of humanity . The reader (held a gun point by him for whatever reason) kinda shows no fear to his face, and that’s how she got him to fall for her. He thinks “she’s the only one who can truly love/accept me for who am I/look like I can’t let her go!!!!”.
