Mild spoilers for 'Kisses In The Dark' the spotify audioshow with Con O'niell. I'm on the start of 'chapter' 4 (Just finished 'Pursuits and Passions')

Spoilers

I just finished the scene where they first make out in the ballroom/under the lot.

It took the first 3 chapters for me to realize not just any lip-to-skin contact will cause death. I imagined a few years down the road he accidentally rolls over in bed and consumes her. Whoops! He was hungry; what can he say.

Our main character just needs to want to kill them. So why is he this angsty if he can control it? Why doesn't he just try to blend im and have a life? If he's essentially immortal, why is he staying in this tiny part of the world? We'll see!

He has also definitely kissed more men than women, which is interesting. I'm assuming the main two end up together or he just kills her. Cause no shit, she's not exactly helping herself here. (Not that she deserves it for turning him down, obviously)

Cause you know, she's actively cheating on her partner-

FUCKING TELL HIM YOU HAVE A FIANCE! Literally, how could this man show up at your door, all nice, grab wine and take you to a fucking ball room, and you don't think- Huh! Maybe I should tell him?

IF THIS BECOMES A LOVE TRIANGLE IM GOING TO FEEL THINGS! He clearly has money, is hot and you have weird monster fucker dreams about him. MY GOD.

I don't care that you're doubting your relationship. It's still cheating, and I hope Mr. Angst in a Hoodie figures out how hard he's getting played here. After he just opened up to a person for the first time too! We just had the whole 'I felt something new' feelings realization shit. I see where this is going! You can't fool me!

Cause I know that's going to be the big 2nd or 3rd act drama! She could have revealed this in their first few conversations but now they're necking in his underground home.

If he kills her cause he finally opened up, obviously, you don't deserve it, but god! Miscommunication is a weird plot point when he literally murders people to survive! The conflict could come more from that. We'll see, I'm about half way ish, so maybe it won't be super cliche.

Para quienes queremos dedicar nuestra vida a algo relacionado con el audio, ya sea la radio, el podcast o la música, por qué no, cualquier detalle es importante.

Yo siempre he sido una curiosa del sonido y creo que eso me ha llevado a desarrollar un oído bastante bueno. Todo, absolutamente todo puede marcar la diferencia y ese todo también puede servirnos para crear y diseñar sonidos nuevos, existan ya o acabemos de inventárnoslos.

De esto va “Deja que te cuente”, un podcast de Teo Rodríguez, uno de los mejores diseñadores sonoros que hay en nuestro país. Yo había oído hablar de él a través de algunos profesores del máster que estoy cursando actualmente en la Universidad Nebrija, pero como se suele decir: “una imagen vale más que mil palabras”, aunque mejor dicho: “un sonido vale más que mil palabras”.

Para quien no lo sepa, este podcast es un Audioshow de 4 episodios donde se muestran las fases de la creación de una ficción sonora, con especial atención en el sonido y el ambiente que acompaña a toda narración o historia. Por supuesto, todo basado en la experiencia profesional de Teo Rodríguez como guionista, director y diseñador sonoro.

El sonido cada vez es más importante en series y sobre todo en un ámbito profesional como el nuestro. Tenemos que hacerle constantes regalos al oyente como bien dice Teo en el primer capítulo. Los creadores de sonido tenemos que ser muy curiosos y diferenciarnos del resto de contenidos, porque cualquier detalle puede marcar la diferencia.

En este podcast, Teo introduce mil tipos de audios, voces, ambientes y sonidos que convergen y se ensamblan entre sí para mostrar ejemplos de cómo diseñar un buen sonido para productos de audio. Si llegas a escucharlo, podrás darte cuenta de la magia del audio y hazme caso, ponte los cascos porque es pura atracción la atmósfera auditiva que se crea.

Si tan solo te gustan un poco los podcast, te prometo que merece la pena escucharlos, porque te darás cuenta de las mil posibilidades que hay de contar historias a través del audio. Las variaciones narrativas son muy grandes si nos exigimos a la hora de elaborar el diseño sonoro, porque marcarán una gran diferencia cuando contemos nuestras historias.

Also sidenote if you're looking for a new audioshow i can HIGHLY recommend Mars Corp.

It's a definitely human production (The Bunker, anyone?) and perfectly weird, fun, with great and lovable characters (others you will want to throw out of an airlock but it would be booooring on the station without them, you know) and robots. Also David Knight.

Great science fiction comedy, with the second season in production right now!

okay so my last post on book recommendations gained a few likes, so i thought why not come up with another post but this time it’s gonna be podcasts. more specifically, academia based podcasts which i have been listening to for a while and love. i can guarantee one thing and that is that after listening to these, you’ll come out a tad bit smarter and with more knowledge than how you started off with.

all of these podcasts could be found on all the main platforms. i personally use castbox and spotify. the list includes podcasts on history, philosophy, current affairs, religion and more along similar lines.

1. The Seen and The Unseen by Amit Varma;

this masterpiece is a golden discovery of mine when it comes to the Indian context. this features hardcore discussions on indian politics, history, behavioural science, economics, interviews with writer, journalists etc. and their take on the topic while also talking about a few general widely discussed topics. The discussions are extremely well researched and thought provoking. I am genuinely envious on how knowledgable the host is. He poses the right questions and makes some really good arguments and doubts. for anyone who is interested in knowing more about the indian side of things, do give this a listen. Totally worth your time (the episodes tend to get really long as the serial number increases but it’s still equally interesting)

2. Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness;

For all the Queer-Eye fans out there, we all know and LOVE LOVE LOVE jvn. like his personality just shinessss through the show. So much positivity and lets not forget what an adorable guy he is. Apart from being this super cute person, he also happens to be EXTREMELY well-read and has his own podcast talking about a lot of important things happening around the world. In his podcast, he features a lot of guests and discusses various issues round the globe like racism, the american elections, religion, business, sports etc. he talks to them and tries to decode their area of expertise which results in a lot of really interesting conversations. Bonus, he also features his co-stars from the show who talk about their journey and life. one thing is that, they have moved a newer episodes to stitcher (i think) with a subscription, but you can find the older episodes on these platforms

3. Mythunderstood;

Y’ALL IM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS. For all my greek history/mythology peeps out there, THIS. IS. PERFECTTT. For you. The best part about this is that the hosts make it so fkn relatable. They make sure that you dont get bored and it’s not dry. They fill it with humor, relatable topics for everyone to get a better understanding. Also its in a storytelling format rather than your basic textbook narration of things, which can get really boring after a while. This is one of my go-to’s while trying to learn more about this. I know for a fact that you’ll enjoy it.

4. The Land of Desire: French History and Culture;

As the title suggests, this podcast features some of the greatest events and people that happened to the french history over the last hundreds of years. It features short episodes where each episode deals with one aspect or event or a person that made an impact on the french history. For eg, the origins of bastille day or the dreyfus affair, napolean etc.
