So it's all over uh? Im going to hecking cry, this boy built my entire childhood and the way I play and love my Pokémons, it's so hard to say goodbye as some song would say. At least Team Rocket won't give up on their everlasting dream of catching Pikachu.

Heard a theory about Giovanni being Ash's dad and it just hit me how that explains why Team Rocket Trio Jessie, James and Meowth are constantly after him.
To be clear I don't think Giovanni planned to send the three after his son, that happened on its own, he found out about it shortly after it had started and is taking full advantage at it.
Now Giovanni knows the trio, he knows that at least when it comes to Ash they suck at stealing pokemon. So why doesn't he tell them to stop going after this kid's basic ass Pikachu, or if this Pikachu is so great assign somebody else to this kid.
Because he's Ash's dad, and unknown to everyone but them, Jessie, James, and Meowth are his babysitters.
Here's how it all went down;
Ash has a special talent for finding trouble and Giovanni likely found out about Pikachu's first episode issues with Ash from his mom. And later he finds out one of his teams went after them, so he looks into the trio.
Looking into them he is relieved to find out they aren't some of the actual cruel or genuinely evil members of the group. They are theatre kid evil, over dramatic, and while willing to steal pokemon they have a very weird and wholesome picture of what they think happens to them. And if they see someone trying to hurt someone human or pokemon, they will jump in to help. Hence why whenever he goes to a new region, Team Rocket is always convenient placed nearby and at the same time.
After the first few failed attempts at stealing Ash's pokemon, Giovanni is certain they won't ever actually succeed in ever stealing his son's pokemon. At max they screw him over time wise, but hey it's free training
So by having the three follow him, he gets regular updates on his sons whereabouts and condition. He can guarantee he has someone nearby if Ash is ever in real danger. And no one knows a damn thing about it, his family doesn't find out about his illegal activities, and his organization (and cops) don't find out about his family.

Today, on November 11, 2022, Ash Ketchum has finally fulfill his dreams! He became the very best like no one ever was! World Champion (Pokémon Master)!
I still remember (at age 14/15) when he first started out, the victories he won, the heartaches when he lost or let go of his pokémon, the friendships and companions he made, the journeys he travelled, all of it.
To me, Ash Ketchum isn't just a "cartoon" figure. He's so much more! He gave me 25 years long joy, happiness, sadness and friendship! Pokémon is one of the biggest highlights in my life and I will always cherish it, no matter how old I will be.
Congratulations, Ash & Pikachu! After 25 years, you truly deserve this! As a tribute, I made this drawing for them.
Thanx you, Ash Ketchum! To many more years, memories and victories! I love you!

Ash amalgamation au
Okay so here I’ll detail some more things on the au. Warning that I retcon info with Ash’a backstory
- The human DNA made to create Ash was from Simon, the stillborn child of two rocket grunts who were well respected among the grunts and actually looking forward to a promotion, which they got when they donated their baby’s body to Giovanni for his experiments.
- Ash can’t use his powers as much as a regular pokemon and overexerting himself can lead to some pretty painful consequences for him. Consequences include splitting headaches, body pain and fevers. This leads to some people thinking he’s sickly and is the explanation for why he still has to deal with Team Rocket’s shennanigans rather than just throw them away with confusion, later psychic
- He and Pikachu actually met in Oak’s lab before Ash took him on as a starter and he was as unreceptive to him as he was in their first meeting in canon but some bonding leads him to be less hostile and moreso aloof when they became partners
- Since he’s part-Pokemon he actually can understand what pokemon are saying. This is used both for light hearted reasons (Brock, Cilan, Clemont and Serena asking what their pokemon wanna eat, Bonnie asking him what Dedenne and Squishy think of her) and more serious reasons (Dawn and Iris asking him for help to understand what their pokemon like Mamoswine and Excadrill want so they can get along better, learning about the pasts of pokemon like Snivy whose pasts weren’t really discussed in canon).
- Ash’s identity as a human-pokemon hybrid is almost always exposed to his friends by Team Rocket with the notable exceptions being: Tracy, who was told by Professor Oak, Cilan, who found out when he realized Ash could genuinely talk to pokemon (to clarify he did not jump into the assumption of human pokemon hybrid, Ash just told him when he asked how he could talk to pokemon), Serena, who saw his transform drop a bit as he entertained her with some tricks with confusion as an apology for accidentally getting her injured (when he was younger he had to drop a bit of transform to use his powers but by the time he reaches Johto that isn’t the case anymore) and the Alola gang whom he told when he joined the class under Kukui’s request because of Lilie’s phobia (this caused them to have issues bonding because she was terrified of him)
- Jessie, James and Meowth are determined to capture Ash and Pikachu to impress Giovanni. So determined in fact that they don’t make his location widespread news in the interest of being able to capture Ash themselves. This leads to them sabotaging anyone who tries to capture Ash before they can including fellow members: Cassidy and Butch and pokemon hunters like Hunter J.
- During the first movie, Ash and Mewtwo will reunite and I’ll detail more in another post just what changes in the movie but at the end of the movie, Ash is offered to join Mewtwo and the clones as they searched for a new home to go to but he refused as he wished to stay with Pikachu, Brock, Misty and all the amazing people and pokemon he met on his journey. Ash and his friends are the only people who retained their memories from the event
Extra stuff: - Should I have Ash meet his human side’s parents? Delia will always be Ash’s mom in his humble opinion but it would be interesting to see what dynamic Ash would have with the people who helped create his existence, since not many of his creators exist anymore courtesy of Mewtwo murdering them

Ah, the first episode.
There’s nothing like a first episode to a series. It’s rough around the edges, maybe it’s lacking an element we’ve come to expect or has one that was left behind as the series marched on, but it is the groundwork. The foundation. A good first episode will tell the viewer, “Hey. You’ve found something special.”
Not a whole lot actually happens in the episode, plot-point wise; Ash oversleeps, gets a stubborn electric rodent, runs around with the birds while arguing with the rodent, runs away from the birds, steals a bike. etc etc. The majority of the time spent it the back-and-forth between Ash and Pikachu, which I think works to its benefit. Ash and Pikachu both have really strong characterization right out of the gate. Their relationship is so central to the identity of the show, so it’s cool to see that consistent theme even from the very beginning. Pokemon knows it’s a show about friendship, so it spends the first episode making sure the audience believes in the core friendship. Overall, a solid writing decision.
I hadn’t expected nearly the amount of cartoon violence that I’d be getting from the early episodes, however. I swear, that blessing/favor from Ho-oh is what keeps this boy alive through all the nonsense he faces. By all accounts, he should’ve drowned in that river or died from electrocution, and that’s just episode one.
I can see the headline now: “Local boy drowns first day of Pokemon Journey: Sparks questions about trainer reforms.” Needless to say, that would’ve been a very different story.
The world of pokemon is fun and exciting, but also dangerous. I don’t remember this much danger from X/Y, but I could easily be mistaken. I’m interested to track this detail to get a view of the region’s environments and culture about the wild in relation to each other.
As for the characters introduced, there are many:
Ash himself is the main event, of course. The opening scene does so much to characterize him despite not being that long. He’s exuberant and confident, but still very immature with a lot to learn. Pokemon are everything to him. He’s meant to be a vehicle for a young audience to project themselves onto, and he works perfectly for that. His excitement, kindness and naivety are a perfect combination for the audience to learn more about the world alongside him. Not to mention it’s just fun to watch.
Pikachu, on the other hand, is equally as stubborn and decides not to like Ash immediately after being gifted to him. Their strong-willed natures clash intensely, generating much of the conflict for the first episodes. Despite this, it’s clear the two of them are more similar than they are different, as evidenced by mutually saving the other from the flock of spearow. I can definitely see the foundations to their later bond here.
Not much is seen of either Gary or Professor Oak in episode one, but enough to make me reevaluate my pop-culture based opinions on them. Gary is, a brat, but who wouldn’t be as a ten-year-old local celebrity with your own cheer squad? He’s clearly been spoiled. The professor, conversely, is goofier than I anticipated. It becomes apparent in later episodes, but the viewer can still tell he’s not that serious of a person here in episode one.
Even in episode one, the Pokemon Anime knows exactly what it’s trying to do. I respect that.

Daddy Daughter Double Battle
They proceeded to get away with it and sweep the competition but then Ash felt bad and decided to give the prize money and title to the second place winners. They quickly ran away with no one knowing who they really were.
