Fuck it I’m vocaloid posting now so here’s a song that I have a fun fact about
Woof Meow World, a song made exclusively for the Taiko no Tatsujin series, is performed by Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, and Asami Shimoda.
Asami Shimoda is the voice provider for the Kagamine twins, so Woof Meow World is essentially just Shimoda, Shimoda, and Shimoda.

Reina Ueda, Honami's seiyuu, has only ever appeared in an official livestream or event once, the least of any main character seiyuu (excluding vocaloid VPs). Her only appearance was for the Little Bravers! after talk stream, and she wasn't even scheduled to appear on it until two days beforehand.

the heavenly yard blog infomine, part 5: Evils Theater, Moonlit Bear, Screws Gears and Pride, Events Galore
A few interesting tidbits from mothy's blog (link [here] if anyone's forgotten). Mothy does less concept writing here, though, and this section is more chronicling his forays into publishing his music (as well as announcements, which of course is what most of his blog consists of).
3 May 2009 ~ 28 September 2009
---May 2009---
3rd
Page 1
-More on the Evils Theater album, which mothy will be distributing at VOCALOID Master 8
Page 2
-Mothy talks about meeting Asami Shimoda during the recording of the "Prism" album.
-He was apparently quite starstruck. Her and her staff were very nice to him, and she notes (jokingly I assume) that she expected him to be meaner given the subject matter of his songs.
11th
-Mothy shares the crossfade for Evils Theater and answers some questions about it.
-The album is at VOCALOID Master 8 as well as another Kagamine event (I don't know how the event's been translated in English but it's よい鏡音を!, or "have a good Kagamine!") and Toranoana
19th
-VOCALOID Master 8 went well, mothy's new CD sold out. Still working on the other release events as well.
25th
-The Miku Moba thing is now available, as well as Prism. Evils Theater is also now available on something called D-Stage? (can't find it with Google and I don't recognize the name).
-mothy answers some comments. Has to confirm he did not in fact write Cantarella and World is Mine.
31st
-More Evils Theater release information, as well as Prism (most of the links are defunct now)
-mothy is working on a new song with Miku, and it's going to be a little long (I think he means Moonlit Bear). Also answers some questions, mostly just giving permissions.
---June 2009---
5th
-mothy gives some info on the Kagamine event that's in a couple days (specifically that he'll be there and where). Note that he'll be there with SignalP and uniMemoP. There's also a contest where you write a message to Asami Shimoda and get put in a drawing for a prize.
-More details on online ordering of the album.
-Comment replies. More comments on how he makes songs--in some cases he makes the song first, then makes the lyrics from one of the various plot ideas he has lying around that he thinks fits the song.
-He apologizes in advance to the people who don't like KaiMiku because there's elements of that in his new song.
11th
-mothy talks about attending the Kagamine event, which was less crowded than VOCALOID Master so a bit more chill. He also talks a little about the new CD, as well as some of his thoughts on Prism (like how he never thought he'd have anyone ever singing his songs in real life)
-more humility, noting that he was the only amateur among all the performers(? I'm guessing this was some kind of performance at the Kagamine event with miss Shimoda). Also does a bit more praising of Shimoda's talent and professionalism.
-Praise for SignalP too, as well as someone he calls SAM. He also met Hitoshizuku as well.
-mothy again forgot to bring a business card.
-He also makes some joking comments about uniMemoP but I can't quite make out what he's saying (there's a lot of w's, so I'm assuming uniMemo did something funny at the event)
17th
-The online distribution of Evils Theater has started. Some of his other songs are also now being distributed as ringtones.
-He mentions an archival upload of something called Prism Star? And he's going to show up in something called "Electone x Vocaloid: From Virtual to Real" (I'm not going to research all of these things, but hopefully someone more well-versed in VOCALOID lore recognizes at least some of these names).
-mothy worries that all of this promotional stuff is taking away from his song making. He IS still making songs, he just hasn't been publishing them. Essentially it sounds like he has a lot of irons in the fire.
22nd
-He has uploaded Moonlit Bear
23rd
-mothy talks a little about Moonlit Bear. He remarks on its connection to Tale of Abandonment on a Moonlit Night, and that it originally had a slightly different story before he put a different plot in it. Again he says he was inspired by the children's nursery rhyme, "The Other Day I Met A Bear".
-He really loves putting double meanings and metaphors in his songs.
-The arrangement is much faster than it was at the outset--originally the music was much more leisurely, but it made the song way too long. He comments a little on the song's structure, how it doesn't have any melody repetitions (outside of intro and chorus) like some of his previous works.
-This time he had Suzunosuke do the illustrations, having loved her work with Girl of the Miniature Garden.
-He's also removed one of the comment functions on his blog (it's been called "applause" all this time--from some basic googling it sounds like it's just another way to leave comments on something, but it's distinct from his actual "comment" section, which is still open). He's been getting too many messages to manage all of them.
---July 2009---
2nd
-mothy's gotten 3rd in the VOCALOID ranking again, which he's grateful for.
-He thanks everyone for all of their comments and opinions, though cautions that he isn't taking this as seriously as some people might think (this is slightly hard to parse because I don't know what comments he's referring to, but I think he's just trying to get across that he's someone who creates according to his personal flow, rather than slavishly listening to all of the suggestions and critiques he gets in the comments section).
-(also it occurs to me that I actually am capable of going back and reading the comments he gets on his blog posts for reference but uh. Since this is already over a decade of blog posts I'm scanning through, I will not do that)
-(anyone who's using these infomines as a resource is more than welcome to do so)
-Meanwhile Evils Theater has sold out. mothy also responds to some comments. Of note is that someone asks for instrumentals for his older songs and he's not sure he has them anymore.
11th
-He will be attending summer Comiket for the first time. As with the other conventions he'll be going with the "twinkledisc" circle and uniMemoP. He hints he'll be bringing a new single CD that's part of a collaboration with uniMemoP (I believe this is the Screws, Gears, and Pride disc)
23rd
-Evils Theater has now started its consignment sales on various platforms.
-Mothy hints at the new song with uniMemoP, as well as another song he's been working on along side it.
---August 2009---
2nd
-mothy announces the Screws, Gears, and Pride single, which he and uniMemo will be selling at Comiket soon.
-He responds to comments. Some highlights: Mothy doesn't do shipping (as in, the fandom relationship shipping and not, like, mail shipping). He makes pairings based on what he thinks works best for the story, without picking favorites. Someone says his face looks kind and he says that real bad guys don't make mean faces in public. And he talks about which VOCALOIDS are easiest to use for beginners (Miku and Kaito are fairly easy to use. Rin and Len Act 1 are pretty difficult, though obviously he favors using them a lot. Gackpo he apparently associates too much with Gackt. Meiko is hardest to use but he really likes her voice)
10th
-He's uploaded Screws, Gears, and Pride.
13th
-He talks a bit about the new song (there is now also a defunct link to a video by the PV illustrator?). Just like with South North Story, he made it sound a little different from his usual style.
-Interestingly, mothy implies here that he intended to make sequel songs to it? That is--he's someone who makes songs based on long-running story arcs in his head. But he tries to make them work as standalone songs. This time, though, he made it sort of viewing it as the first song in a concept album, a trilogy with a complete story. He says that making the rest hinges upon further collaboration with uniMemoP, however, so it really depends on how circumstances go. (no further songs in this series were ever made as far as I'm aware, so that's a little sad)
-Also answers some questions, mostly inconsequential ones.
18th
-mothy talks about having attended Comiket. It was full of people and he got overwhelmed with excitement, but he had a lot of support and had a good time.
-The SG&P CD will also be sold on consignment. As for Evils Theater, he's going to sell the rest of his stock and that'll be it.
-Since he's gone to most of these events riding on the coattails of Signal and uniMemoP, he's started thinking that he'd like to build up enough of his own content to be able to participate independently.
-Answers some comments again. One of them has a question about derivative works that he encourages them to use email to talk about rather than the comments section. He also shares the song MP3s.
---September 2009---
1st
-Evils Theater has officially sold out, and all remaining stock is for distributing at live events only. On that note, mothy announces he'll be attending VOCALOID Master with OwataP this month.
-Also drops more hints on the other song he was working on. Well--I say "hints" but they are pretty much useless and he says at the end that he might be lying.
3rd
-mothy announces he'll be guest-starring on OwataP's radio show(?) today. None of the links work for me so I can't check it out. I'm guessing it's not hosted anymore.
10th
-mothy details a bit of a slump he's having, where he's been steadily making songs (which he hasn't released yet) but worries that he's running out of material, or that he's going to make songs that are too similar to each other (it seems it's important to him to make songs that feel original or unlike other things he's made, despite the fact that he does have a style he likes to stick to).
-He's confident that he can push past this, though.
24th
-The Screws Gears and Pride album is on Toranoana.
28th
-The link no longer works so I suspect this album is out of print, but mothy announces his involvement in a "VOC@LOID GENERATION" album wherein humans sing VOCALOID songs. He expresses surprise that the guy who sings Servant of Evil (his song on the album) sang it in the original key despite being inhumanly high pitched.

Kagamine Rin was conceptualized and unveiled before Kagamine Len. Crypton hired a voice actress who could act for both female and male roles (Shimoda Asami) to meet the demand for male Vocaloids, adding Len's voice to the package.

Since Len and Rin have the same voice provider… Could you theoretically put two tracks both with Len , but tune one track to sound like Rin..? Man that’d be interesting. It’d sound like Rin with a cold…
‘Cause that’s how Len is tuned in Iori Sumei’s arrangement & VOCALOID cover of Neru’s “Shousei Gekijou” (Theater of Me)… I swear in the pre-chorus Len’s accent (?, or voicing?) is tuned like how Rin typically sounds, which is more throat-like with more notable voicing, since Len’s voice is typically more head-voice with less voicing… oh god phonetics and SynthV really is improving my ability to describe a voice.
And I’m pretty sure the verse is with the whisper bank? AH wait no, according to PIAPRO wiki, it’s either the “Len - Cold” Append voicebank…? Or is it the “Len - Serious” Append voicebank…
WAIT, ACCORDING TO PIAPRO WIKI, their voice provider Shimoda Asami mentioned that “Len's voice was achieved by singing within her chest, while Rin's was achieved by singing at the top of her head.” YES!! That’s the distinguishing feature between the two!
ALSO… I’ve known about VOCALOID ever since before 2018 but I’ve only realised now that on product illustrations Len typically has darker greys/blacks while Rin has lighter greys/whites, especially for their sleeves, collars, and shorts… Wait… It’s just their VOCALOID2 Act 2 illusts that make it less notable… (Huh their detached pant-legs say “ElectricVoiceSystem”…) But it’s really obvious in their V2 Append art and their PSv4x art
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hmm… Ignoring the art styles, design-wise the Act 2 outfits are probably the most iconic/well-known ones (the ones that most people probably think of), but I also quite like the minor details in the PSv4x designs.
Actually— When people commission artists to draw Rin and Len, do they specify which design…?

Kagamine Rin & Len (Japanese: 鏡音リン・レン), officially code-named CV02, are a pair of Vocaloid software developed by Crypton Future Media, headquartered in Sapporo, Japan. Their official moe anthropomorphism consists of a pair of twin vocals, a boy and a girl, respectively named Len and Rin. They use Yamaha Corporation's Vocaloid 2 and Vocaloid 4 singing synthesizing technology. Their voices are samples of the voice actress Asami Shimoda. They have performed at live concerts together, as they are each other's mirror image.

Do you know which of the voice actors knew each other before prsk? I saw someone say that Mizuki’s and Shiho’s went to the same elementary school before or something and was wondering if more of them knew each other before somehow.
Furirin (Airi) and Hiichan (Mizuki) voice characters in Love Live! Sunshine!! who interacted frequently. They had a focus episode and a centre song together. Tomoriru (Kanade) also voices a Love Live character but from a different generation, although all of them performed at Love Live Fest (not together admittedly). Hiichan and Tomoriru also both voice characters in revstar but I don’t know if the characters ever interact or if they’ve done any shows together.
Imai-san (Akito), Daichan (Tsukasa), and Tokishun (Rui) all voice characters in A3!. I don’t know anything about A3 but I remember hearing somewhere that Daichan and Tokishun were also in the same troupe in that game.
Honchan (Shizuku) voices a minor character in BanG Dream!, while Yukki (Shiho) voices a major character from that franchise. However their characters do not interact, so I doubt they ever did.
Ruirui (Mafuyu) and Minoringo (Ena) knew each other for years before both being cast in proseka, though I'm not entirely sure how they knew each other. I know that Minoringo is also good friends with Imai-san but I do not know if they knew each other prior to proseka.
According to the wiki, multiple seiyuu have voice characters in iDOLMASTER. According to the imas wiki, this list gets longer. imas confuses me there's a lot of seiyuu and i don't entirely know how the whole thing works out but here you go.
From Million Live there's Ueshama (Honami) and Komachi (Nene)
From Cinderlla Girls there's Yukki, Minoringo and Ruirui (oh I'm guessing that might be how they knew each other)
and from SideM there's Tokishun and Itoken (Toya)
as far as I'm aware these all predate proseka. Isobe-san (Saki) also voices a character in imas Shiny Colors but again I don't know anything about imas so not sure if she ever would've been given the opportunity to interact with the others.
also apparently there's multiple seiyuu who have done work on Uma Musume.
yeah in other words I don't know who knows each other personally outside Yukki and Hiichan attending the same school I just know who's done voice work in the same media and might've interacted.
