Wednesday WIP
Okay, so it's technically Thursday now, but this is proof that I've started NaNoWriMo and just the tiniest taste of Chapter 6 of The Peacefighters since I definitely won't have the full chapter ready this week! Thanks for your continued support!
Satine couldn't remember the last time she'd stayed in bed all day. What did it say about her that being confined to a hospital room was essentially the first holiday she'd had in years? The healers had been so attentive, bringing her tea and biscuits and making sure she was comfortable and not bothered by anything. It was physically refreshing in a way she wouldn't have expected given the hole in her shoulder.
If only her to-do list was as pleasant. Her unexpected stint in the Temple had affected all of her plans. She had intended to be back in Sundari by now. Jaq Armatan was acclimating well to his new responsibilities as Prime Minister, but Satine certainly hadn't intended to leave him on his own and in charge for this long. She'd been able to attend a meeting with him and her other ministers via holo, but there were other things she couldn't be there for: she was scheduled to oversee the construction of a new foundling home in the city and then stop by the hospital to chat with the last of the children still recovering from the slabin poisoning incident.
She and Armatan had spoken personally this morning, and she'd instructed him to keep the appointment to see the foundling home but cancel the hospital visit. The former Minister of the Interior wasn't well known to the people even if he was the Prime Minister now, and such a visit probably wouldn't have the same comforting effect. Armatan's wrinkled face smoothed in relief, and Satine knew she'd made the right call.

For your edification, Armatan is a canon character. He was Satine's Minister of the Interior in Season 3, but he becomes Prime Minister after Almec's arrest. He's one of only two ministers who can be seen standing alongside Satine when she is deposed by Death Watch in Season 5. In the Darth Maul: Shadow Conspiracy novelization, Satine says that he's a good man and grieves that her refusal to meet Death Watch with force will probably lead to Armatan's death. While his death is not explicit, the fact that Satine tells Maul that the other leaders of Sundari either sided with Pre Vizsla or were killed means it's likely that Armatan was executed by Death Watch during "Shades of Reason."
