Summary:

Everyone knows Steve Harrington, a local rich kid jock, the previous king of Hawkins High School. He's got it all, money, a respectable family, and chicks love him. He's even spending the summer learning what it's like to be a real working man before taking on a role in his Dad's firm because its builds character and empathy. Or is he something else entirely? Is Steve a down-on-his-luck guy, stuck in a job he dislikes because his dad is teaching him a lesson, repeatedly striking out with the ladies, that his co-worker is fond of reminding him about? Under all the many layers and masks, he uses to survive the day-to-day, Steve has secrets. The main one is how passionately he loves music. How it moves him in ways nothing else does, and he's sure no one else could possibly feel the same, until his Mom gives him $50 to spend at the new record store.

It's always hard to choose favourites, and it always depends on how you define "favourite", of course! But I'll make a list for you! In chronological order:

1. Her Favourite (gen, 1k): Minerva McGonagall reminisces about James Potter. I love their relationship, the McGonagall POV, and how poetically it's crafted.

2. My Best Friend's Girl (Sirius/Lily to Jily, 12.4k): Sirius and Lily date during 6th year, to James's silent suffering. I know I could have done so much more with this story if I had the patience and skill, but it's still a deeply personal story for me, I am so invested in the way the relationships and characterizations are depicted, and I love my writing in it.

3. Are You Experienced? (Jily, 12.6k): James asks Lily out to a Muggle rock concert. It's the story I always wanted to write! Fluffy, flirty, humorous, full of shenanigans. I had the time of my life with it.

4. It's A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock And Roll) (Jily, 5.6k): James learns how to dance rock 'n' roll to impress Lily. I will never not have a soft spot for a story about dancing and James being his funny, determined and completely smitten self!

5. Customer In Law (Jily, 6.1k): After Euphemia's repeated attempts to set James up with her daughters' friends, he decides to introduce Lily to her as his girlfriend. I love it for the romcom style, the fake dating trope is one of my favourites, plus how I drew from real life (ridiculous) stuff that happened to me for it!

today on the train home the guy next to me was on his phone and at one point i saw him go on tumblr and he just had like. a normie dash. like it was all photography. of nature and architecture. he was using tumblr the way a heterosexual landscaper for rich people might use instagram. i actually had to watch his screen for a few seconds to be sure it really was tumblr because i was so taken aback by the content he was viewing. this is why algorithmless websites are so beautiful btw because i genuinely didn't know that this side of tumblr even existed. he didn't even so much as scroll past any text posts.

EDIT: look i'm not going to turn off reblogs but i cannot stress enough that THIS WASN'T A HIPSTER BLOG DASH IT WASN'T AN AESTHETIC BLOG DASH IT WAS THE MOST WILDLY GENERIC COLLECTION OF IMAGES YOU HAVE EVER SEEN IN YOUR LIFE. I AM NOT EXAGGERATING OR BEING A QUIRKY FANDOM TUMBLRINA WHEN I SAY "NORMIE" I GENUINELY MEAN "SO NORMAL THAT IT CIRCLES AROUND TO WEIRD". CAN ANYBODY HEAR ME? HELLO?
