thoughts on lyney and lynette rn bc i would kill to see little sibling reader with them ,m so normal about them i swear i just dnfgohpjykul
the blood of the covenant.
summary. blood related or otherwise, lyney, lynette, and freminet are among the best siblings to have.
trigger & content warnings. non-descriptive mention of injuries, lyney does Not open up and it causes arguments (not depicted in detail; just briefly mentioned), some mentions of crying.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. fluff, hurt/comfort. lyney & younger sibling!reader, lynette & younger sibling!reader, freminet & younger sibling!reader. 2k words. they/them pronouns used for reader. reader is a member of the house of the hearth. reader is only slightly younger than freminet; think a month or two younger.
author's thoughts. almost 6 months later....... your wish is my command 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 SORRY IT TOOK ME LIKE A MILLION YEARS TO DO THE AQ...... AND I STILL HAVE ACT 5 LEFT TO DO...... but i think i'm well-versed enough now to write about the twins! and freminet... as a little treat.
Tumblr media
lyney is an undoubtedly protective older brother—he doesn't mean anything bad by it, but given his traumatic history and multiple forced partings from lynette... he's grown a bit worrisome. this effect is increased tenfold if his youngest sibling [name] also happened to be sold off to that noble with lynette.
being the eldest means that he is solely responsible for the safety of his siblings (or so he believes—arlecchino herself feels that it's more of a team effort to keep one another safe on missions and in daily life). so, he worries. he knows that all of his siblings are thoroughly capable... but he worries.
tight hugs. god. lyney gives tight and safe hugs. lynette leans more towards fond squeezes—briefly tight, before loosening up into a more gentle hug (she can and will squeeze even tighter than lyney some days, however). and freminet is more prone to hand-holding, little reassuring squeezes akin to lynette's but with [name]'s hand instead of their whole body, but he'll also offer very gentle and soothing hugs if needed.
^ speaking of freminet's inclination to hand-holding, he might clutch their hand if he gets nervous about something... and if they also happen to be a bit shy, as he is, he'll try his best to be as confidently reassuring as lyney is (it doesn't work, but it's the thought that counts, no?). his hand is always open to be held too, though, so if that calms his sibling down... he's more than happy to let them cling onto his hand for a while.
"Are you scared?"
"A little," they murmur quietly, fingers absentmindedly plucking at the threads of their sleeves. "Always a little on missions like these. It doesn't stop me from doing anything, don't get me wrong. I just get... nervous."
Freminet hummed, a soft acknowledgement of what they said.
Then, he held out his open palm, continuing, "Then... you can hold my hand. Until we have to do our jobs."
A bit of their confidence was restored—Freminet could tell, based on the way their downcast expression shifted into something more... neutral. Something more capable of disguising the threat of impending doom, in a way, but he knew that threat was not something for him to worry about. That threat was not for him.
(Some other threat, far more visible on their angry face accompanied by something along the lines of 'Freminet I am going to kill you where you stand Lyney said you ate my leftover food why would you betray me like this' was more likely to be for him.
For the record, Lyney was most certainly a liar. Freminet did not and would not do such a thing to them.
Magic is all about misdirection and trickery, after all. Of course Lyney managed to both misdirect and trick his baby sibling into accusing his other baby sibling of a crime he himself committed.)
They nodded, vastly more confident and assured in themselves, before clasping his hand securely in theirs. His fingers intertwined with theirs, and his thumb absentmindedly ran across their knuckles. "Until we have to do our jobs."
lynette will sneak them sweets when lyney isn't looking... or, tbh, even when he is looking. he scolds her for it every time, but she continues to do it. his chiding has never stopped her before. why would it stop her now?
lynette will also try all kinds of deserts and teas with them!! it's like a bonding activity, in a way. perhaps she and [name] create a little tier list to note down the best bakeries in fontaine and the worst.
"What do you think of this place?"
"Mmh... I don't know." They leaned over to Lynette's side, whispering their secrets ('secrets' meaning criticism that they were too polite to let the bakery owner overhear) into her ear. "Their sweets are kind of... bitter. Maybe the baker was having an off day? I don't know, but it's... not great."
"To the bottom of the list, then," she said simply with no attempt at discretion as she took a sip of her tea. She must have agreed with their criticism, given that she offered no words in defense of the little bakery.
"A— ah?! Lynette, shh! Don't say that so loud!"
kisses!!!! lyney just thinks his baby sibling is the cutest, so he'll fondly pepper their face in kisses if they're okay with it <3 lynette also does this, to a certain extent. it isn't to lyney's level, though. she is far more calm and restrained about it. she may, however, be very inclined to squish their cheeks like a fond grandma might.
it seems... calming for her? she seems to enjoy pinching their cheeks, even if her expression does not show it. maybe it could be compared to a cat kneading its owner. she's also quite fond of giving them headpats for any reason, really—for expressing approval, offering comfort, reassurance...
(it is likely that she picked up said habit from arlecchino.)
anyways.
neither of the twins smother in a belittling way. if [name] is seriously upset by something, or has something of great importance to share (intelligence collected on a mission, perhaps), they both take it very seriously... and if the twins somehow fail to do so, they own up to it.
freminet would be so happy if they wanted to go diving with him! and if [name] happened to dislike the ocean, he would understand, but would want to help them overcome such a fear. he's never going to leave them alone in the water if they're scared. there's nothing to be afraid of, he reassures quietly. why? how is there nothing to be afraid of? well, he will do his best to protect them. he will not let anything bad happen to them.
^ furthermore, freminet would also really love to sit in silence with [name] and toy around with machines and their inner workings. if his sibling isn't adept at it as he is, then he's more than content to quietly teach them and direct them on what to do and how to do it. perhaps there might come a day where they help him out with upgrading pers—whether that be by simply propsing an idea or executing that idea themselves on another machine (it would be so... wrong of them to do something to pers without his explicit permisssion) to visually display what they're trying to explain.
lyney and lynette use their two youngest siblings as something of a practice audience; it helps the twins work out any issues with their tricks, and as a bonus on lyney's behalf, he generally gets to see his little siblings [name] and freminet smile <3
on a more unfortunate note, lyney is notorious for not opening up and not relying on others. this may lead to intense arguments or spats... he may often neglect to apologize verbally (he cannot promise that he won't do it again; he doesn't want to lie to them like that), but he will apologize in other ways—a sudden increase in meaningful gifts for his little sibling, treating them to a meal or multiple meals of their choice, doing menial house chores for them so they do not have to... things of that nature. he feels bad, but he can't act like he won't do it again. he knows he will. lyney is just grateful that [name] is patient with him through it all.
Held out in front of them by their eldest brother was a takeout box from one of their favorite bakeries; he must have asked Lynette about it, they vacantly thought. Taped securely to the top was a Romaritime Flower. Loyalty... was that his way of reassuring them that these little things would not ever truly impact his relationship with and his care for them? They, again, mused that he must have gotten it from one of their other shared siblings—Freminet, if they had to guess.
They frowned. "Lyney..."
He looked a bit worried now. They felt a little bad for inducing that kind of anxiety, but they did not waver. "Do you not like it?"
"I do. It's not that," they reassured, shaking their head as they gingerly took the box from his hands. "I just wish you could rely on us more. You wouldn't need to go through all this trouble to apologize if you just... relied on us. All of us, Father included. That's all."
He doesn't say anything to that.
They gingerly set the gift down onto a nearby table. Then, they turn back to their brother and—to his surprise; he assumed they were still upset with him—wrapped their arms around his waist, head resting on his shoulder. His hands were frantic as they scrambled to secure their place around [Name]'s shoulders.
Lyney squeezed. It wasn't tight enough to hurt them at all, but it was tight enough to put a bit of soothing pressure on their body. Maybe it was another way of his to apologize wordlessly, without committing to the promise of never doing it again, or maybe he was just concerned that they might not forgive him this time and subsequently relieved when they did.
(He should know better after all these years, but... really, what kind of a brother might he be if he didn't worry about making amends with his younger sibling after doing wrong to them?)
It was silent for a moment. They simply basked in the warmth their brother provided, while he basked in the newfound freedom from the weight upon his shoulders that their forgiveness provided him with.
...
Then, they whispered, "You know I love you, right?"
He didn't have a chance to respond before they swiftly untangled themselves from his embrace, swiped his hat from atop his head, and darted out the front of the building that they were in.
Oh, so that's how it is.
He smiled fondly to himself as he waited, offering them a brief headstart.
He would catch them eventually; he always did. However, as Fatui agents... this little game of theirs, some variation of cat and mouse, could go on for hours—days, even, if [Name] happened to be taking it especially seriously.
Well, then. He may as well entertain their whims and antics (and really, they probably got it from him, so he has no right to complain about the monster he made; he often did things of this nature to all three of his siblings, and he had been doing this with them specifically since they were little).
It's the least he can do, he thinks.
lynette can often tell right away if something is wrong with [name]. she notices even the smallest things. at a moment's notice, she is ready to sit at their side and brew tea to share. if they want to talk, she is more than happy to listen, humming quietly every now and then to remind and reassure them that she is paying attention.
should one of [name]'s missions ever go wrong, ending with them injured... their three siblings are by their side as soon as possible, and lyney's probably first, followed shortly by both lynette and freminet.
they all want to know what happened, of course, but they don't push it if [name] isn't feeling up to the task of talking. their health and comfort always comes first.
freminet will offer pers as comfort, if they need something to hold that isn't a pillow. it tends to make him feel better, so maybe it will have the same effect on them. he does this whenever they're hurt—mentally, physically, or otherwise. if his sibling is in pain, he'll do what he can to help.
and if tears are shed... archons, they're all so worried :(
tears will never be shed in front of father, of course, but... it's different if it's in front of their siblings. none of them cry often—even very rarely in front of one another—so it is certainly worrisome when it does happen.
and though tears are rarely shed in front of one another, lyney, lynette, and freminet are all more than ready to help soothe the soul of their youngest sibling, regardless of whether that means letting them rant their heart out or simply sitting in silence by their side.

since you write for demon slayer i was wondering if you could write about the reader being tengen’s tsuguko and their mentor/mentee relationship (personally i think he’d be tough on them but care deep down. maybe touching on the entertainment district arc? thank you <3
being the sound hashira's tsuguko.
summary. what is it like being tengen uzui's student?
trigger & content warnings. mild depictions of injury, limb loss, voluntarily consuming poison, etc.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. found family-ish, fluff, slight angst towards the end. tengen uzui (and his wives) & reader. 0.7k words. they/them pronouns for reader.
author's thoughts. i took this request and RAN with it, i love mentor/mentee requests for any fandom but especially for demon slayer.... the age was unspecified in this req, so i personally imaged tsuguko!reader being around tanjiro's age, however i left it pretty ambiguous so anyone can imagine it however they want. i also decided not to touch too deeply on the entertainment district arc, since this is only a headcanon post, but i'm totally cool with writing an actual fic about it! just shoot me another request if that's something you'd like to see <3
Tumblr media
tengen is definitely a very tough mentor, and he doesn't get the opportunity to train many tsugukos because of this. he's hard on his students. he's a demanding mentor, though at the very least, he lays out his expectations clearly. he knows exactly what he wants he students to know.
the lower ranked demon slayers have favored hashira, ones they would prefer to train under if they were ever given the chance to. tengen is not really one of those favored potential mentors. preferred mentors would be people like kyojuro or mitsuri. that isn't to say any other hashira would be any less tough on their tsugukos than tengen is, but the sound hashira supposes those two come off as kinder than he does.
of course, it should be made very clear that he's hard on his students not because he gets some kind of sadistic pleasure out of watching them struggle, but because he wants them to survive.
his training is just downright difficult. it's all in the spirit of survival, though.
a tsuguko of his would have a lot of things expected of them.
his student is expected to build poison resistance by microdosing themselves day after day.
his student is expected to have a certain amount of stamina.
they're expected to be stealthy.
they're expected to be able to make split-second decisions.
simply put, it's... a lot.
generally, anyone who trains under him quits shortly after beginning, so they don't really get to know him. they don't get to understand why he does what he does. they miss the opportunity to really understand him. the one exception would be his current tsuguko, [name].
he cares very deeply for the one tsuguko that did stick around!
tbh, he's pretty open about that fact, especially when he's alone with them and his wives! he's not secretive about caring for them.
he expects them to prioritize their own life. it is something that other demon slayers might not agree with, something that others find "selfish" and "cruel."
tengen does not see it that way.
he's seen that self-sacrificial, "give everything up for the mission" ideology tear people apart. he's seen it tear his blood family apart. he'd be damned if he let it tear his chosen family apart.
"because you are very dear to me," he'd say, placing a firm hand on their head and ruffling their hair fondly, "i expect you to value your life above all others. the mission is not worth your life. you protect yourself, you protect others, and you get the hell out of there if you can't handle it. you come back to me, to us. you got that?"
i personally think he'd treat his tsuguko like his kid if they're sixteen or under. yeah, he's only in his early 20s. so what? that's his kid. if they're above that age, he treats them like a precious younger sibling. if they happen to be older than him? he does not care. that's still his younger sibling.
regardless of their age, his tsuguko is a part of his little family.
no demon will ever lay their hands on his family and get away with it. he will not allow it.
if they get injured on a mission and they're recovering at the butterfly estate, my man is at their bedside in an instant. he probably yells at them because how dare they worry him?? where did they get the audacity??? tengen eventually gets over it and admits that he's glad they're alright. his wives also come to visit them when they have the time!!
now, as for the entertainment district...
i think that mission would be very mentally taxing (and of course physically taxing, but let's focus more on the stress and panic for now).
seeing tengen lose his arm like that, thinking he was dead... god, it would terrify them. they have grown to see him as strong and infallible, so to see him so weak and broken would be genuinely horrifying.
they'd cry tbh
good luck to gyutaro, though. bro is at the mercy of their rage. having learned from tengen, i wholeheartedly believe that his tsuguko would be able to hold their own against the demon for at least a little bit. long enough for tengen to recover, long enough for everything to go according to plan.
but, of course... tengen does retire in the end.
well.
the whole point of having a tsuguko is to have someone reliable to succeed their respective mentor, right?
tengen loves his tsuguko.
he knows they're capable enough.
he wouldn't want anyone else taking his place <3

to be quietly loved.
summary. what would dan heng be like as an older brother?
trigger & content warnings. mentions of injury and nightmares.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. fluff, found family, very slight angst if you squint. dan heng (including il, towards the end) & younger sibling figure!reader. 1.1k words. they/them pronouns used for reader.
author's thoughts. i just remembered i have free will and can write fics about who i want to whenever i want to (/lh) so i wrote platonic dan heng content!
Tumblr media
dan heng would be very quiet and subtle in his care. he is undoubtedly a fantastic brother! but his love language is very quiet, only noticable to those who pay close attention.
his gestures of care are quiet, and his words even moreso, but... well. it's fitting for someone like him.
he pays attention—very close attention, actually.
if his sibling seemed interested in something (perhaps their gaze lingered somewhere too long), or if they offhandedly mentioned a potential new interest to him, he would make a mental note of it.
his sibling might find the book they've been wanting to read or the cool ring they saw in a shop's window sitting in front of their door on the express a day later. <3
he's not the kind of brother to bully his younger sibling LMAO
he would rather do things for them—little acts of service to show his love in a wordless way—rather than bully them into doing things for him.
another way dan heng subtly expresses his care is in battle. he always has their blind spots covered. it's... a bit more obvious than his other displays, but really, it doesn't matter. what matters most is his sibling's safety.
and if they haven't left their room in a while? whatever the reason may be, mental health or physical health or any other reason, he's leaving meals by their door. he sends them little texts throughout the day, giving them the opportunity to seek support if that is something they need while also not forcing himself into their safe space if they just want to be alone for some time.
of course, his quiet nature does not mean he doesn't verbally express his affection. he does, but only in the soft moments in which he is alone with them.
(march would relentlessly tease him otherwise.)
late nights spent reading together in the archives, observing the stars together when everyone else is asleep or otherwise occupied... moments like that.
additionally, moments of hurt.
especially moments of hurt.
if his sibling happens to have nightmares about their own past, much like he does, he will offer them the security of his comfort and support. he'll always be there; that is one thing he can safely assure them of.
(maybe he'll live longer than they will. maybe he won't. either way, he will be there for as long as he is able.)
he offers to reassure them over text if they aren't really comfortable or ready for physical contact, but he will also offer to let them spend the night in the archives with him. whatever puts their mind at ease.
dan heng is always willing to hearing their story if they are willing to share. maybe he isn't quite ready to reciprocate that same vulnerability yet... but he does reassure them that his lack of openness is not because of them or something they did. it has nothing to do with them. they'll be the first to know when he is ready, he swears it.
or if they get physically hurt... he's there in an instant, finishing off whatever monsters dared to harm them and then rushing them back to the express to get their wounds treated, even if it really isn't that serious of a wound. he sees blood and goes into worried mode immediately.
he spends a lot of time with them while they're recovering, to the point where welt and himeko will teach him how to clean and rewrap their injury.
if it was preventable, something they could have avoided with just a little more patience and awareness, he will absolutely scold them for their lack of care, but...
he thinks they've already suffered the natural consequences of their actions, so his lecture on safety is very short.
"...Sorry, Dan Heng. I know I should have been more careful."
"You should have," he agreed, gingerly rewrapping the gauze on their arm. The gash, as a consequence of taking a rather brutal hit from a member of the Antimatter Legion, was healing well. "...I forgive you, though."
They smiled, leaning their head on his shoulder. He adjusted his position slightly for the sake of their comfort. Their weight provided a soothing reassurance that they were alive and well. He still recalled the sheer terror that had struck his chest when they cried out for him in the midst of battle.
"I mean it, [Name]. Be more careful next time. What would have happened to you if I wasn't there?"
"Probably something bad," they admitted, reaching over to his freehand and mindlessly toying with his fingers. "Thank you for being there."
Dan Heng sighed, freehand tenderly raking through their messy hair. "I will always be."
'It is the least I could do for you.'
he's very protective in that way. he genuinely doesn't know what he'd do with himself if something happened to them when he could have done something to keep them safe. he would never forgive himself, really.
he'll also teach them to fight for their own safety, if they don't already know how. if they do? he'll spar with them and help sharpen their skills.
dan heng does his best to not leave his sibling unprepared. he knows deep down inside that he cannot always be there. he wants them to be prepared to defend themselves, to be able to survive without his presence and support.
and when he does finally ackowledge and accept his past...
man.
he's even more protective, if that is even possible. it's some kind of instinct within him, like the way a mother feels inclined to protect her child, or how a lion does to its young. he feels an inexplicable pull, a need to keep them away from harm.
dragon instincts, basically.
he would literally obliterate anything that posed a threat to them fr. he also hates seeing them wounded in that form. he hates it normally, but in his vidyadhara form? it ignites some kind of deep-set anger and worry in him.
aeons forbid they were ever seriously injured.
the things dan heng would do in their defense would... not be very pretty.
on a fluffier note, i just know he gives really secure, safe hugs, especially in his vidyadhara form. if something happens to frighten them? well. his arms are always open. he's always there to comfort and reassure them, even if it happens to be something silly that scared them.
he'll also let them braid his hair in his nonhuman form if they ask nicely enough! he doesn't even try to hide the style when its done. he just walks around the express with it, even if march and stelle and himeko all giggle a little about how cute it is or how well it suits him. welt just smiles knowingly.
overall 10/10 he is a wonderful older brother <3
please consider reblogging, it helps me out quite a lot!

what if kaveh adopted a child? (pt. ii)
summary. kaveh isn't exactly the best single dad out there, but he's doing his best.
trigger & content warnings. no applicable warnings.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. fluff, slight angst. adoptive dad!kaveh & reader. alhaitham & reader. tighnari & reader. collei & reader. 1.7k words. they/them pronouns for reader. this post is an expansion of what if kaveh adopted a child?
author's thoughts. do you guys remember when i said i wouldnt expand upon this brainrot? i lied. it was pretty well recieved and got some nice interaction so i hope to replicate that effect with this one!! heres some more adoptive dad!kaveh 💖 this will not make sense if you havent read the aforementioned brainrot, so please do that before reading this one! also do be aware that this has hints of kaveh's backstory in it, so if you don't want to see implied spoilers, don't read this!!
Tumblr media
kaveh is a disaster single dad, but he's doing his best.
kaveh did inevitably take alhaitham's unsolicited advice and took them to gandharva ville. as much as he may hate to outwardly admit it... he knows he's not in a place to take care of a child alone, and he can't force alhaitham to help. that is simply not his roommate's responsibility. kaveh respects that; taking care of a child is a serious committment. it is not something that can be treated lightly, and it is certainly not something to force upon an unwilling caretaker. thankfully, the people at gandharva ville have no issue taking them in until kaveh is able to care for them properly.
tighnari and collei take really good care of them—especially collei. she adores them.
collei was very awkward with them at first, but she warmed up to them pretty quickly. something about having the opportunity to help a young child recover from trauma and learn to be stronger and smarter, having the opportunity to be like a big sister... it's very healing for her. she is being the person she herself would have needed all those years ago.
tighnari was also somewhat hesitant at first. children have a tendency to be bratty and loud, and he... does not have that kind of patience, but he was quick to get over any prior doubts after meeting them for the first time. they were very quiet. it was kind of worrying at first, but tighnari quickly realized that they just prefer communicating nonverbally.
the way they write is beautifully advanced and elegant, but it seems that their mouth finds it hard to keep up with their brain. that's all.
tighnari tutors them alongside collei. they're very advanced in language for their young age, and collei is a bit behind, so the two are roughly at the same level. he's also teaching both of them some of sumeru's many languages.
unlike collei, however, they are not from sumeru. they're from fontaine. as such, they have a lot of trouble producing some sounds that native speakers would have no trouble with.
(it's a source of very much frustration for them. collei is always there to console them when they get especially frustrated with themselves, wiping their tears away with gentle yet calloused hands and reassuring them that absolutely no-one expects them to be able to pronounce every word perfectly. even she messes up sometimes! she was away from sumeru for so long, after all. some sounds are difficult for her too.)
whenever kaveh visits them, they absolutely shine with excitement, as if he hasn't come to see them in ages. however... he's usually there multiple times a week (unless he's away for a project, and if he is, he always tells them before he leaves). they're simply always happy to see him.
it's really very cute, the way they gasp delightedly and run up to hug his legs since they're too short to reach any higher. it's impossibly endearing.
one time in particular stood out.
"Baba!"
Utter shock.
The silence that spread through Gandharva Ville was incredibly overpowering, but that didn't seem to deter them from running up to poor Kaveh—who had yet to completely process what they had said, how they had addressed him—and squeezing their little arms around his leg. The silence was quick to dissipate into fond murmurs and giggles as the Forest Rangers resumed their individual duties.
...
The blonde had no intention of replacing their parents; he'd feel awful if one or both of them turned up at some point, only for their child to have bonded with a different caretaker, but...
He also didn't have the heart to chide them. Who would? The way they gazed up at him with a smile that outshined the blazing sun itself was too sweet, too innocent. Kaveh couldn't possibly imagine why anyone would want to crush their soul like that.
He couldn't deny the warmth spreading in his chest, either.
With a smile, he raised his child into his arms, laying his forehead against their's. His gaze was gentle, affectionate, as he observed their expression. 'Enamored' didn't even begin to describe Kaveh's affection for them.
"Hello, little one. Baba's back."
from then on, kaveh absolutely addresses them as his kid. he just accepts that his role in their life is that of a father. family is not defined by blood, and archons know they need a parental figure that they can trust and rely on after what they went through in fontaine.
he never really saw himself being a father, at least not for a good while, but he adores them sm <3
alhaitham definitely warms up to them (eventually)!
he teaches them a few things here and there. most of the things he teaches them are language-related, but he'll sometimes present them with math problems. he'll even review some of their work for them if they ask, especially if it's something like an essay.
kaveh would absolutely pay special attention to his child's hair. if he doesn't already know how to care for their specific hair type, he would do everything in his power to learn how to.
kaveh spoils them whenever he can afford to. he oftentimes can't afford to do such things, which stings like a fresh wound would, but he knows they're happy even without being spoiled. he tries his best!
the architect wants to preserve their native culture, but they seem averse to the idea of returning to fontaine, and forcing them would do no good.
for now, the best he can do is obtain fontainian literature through foreign sources and ensure that their own language isn't erased by the sumeran languages they're learning.
his mother does live there. he could always ask her for a few favors when needed.
when the political climate cools down a little, he plans on taking them to fontaine, just not the capital city. anywhere outside of the nation's capital would do. ideally, he'd keep them as far away from the hydro archon as possible.
kaveh would never push his child to enroll in the akademiya, no matter how brilliant they are. unless they voluntarily want to go...
he will not do something that cruel to them. he wouldn't dream of it. honestly, even if they wanted to go, he would be a little hesitant.
(this view would change drastically after the sages are removed from office, however; once they're gone and the akademiya becomes less suffocating, he'd totally encourage them to go.)
if they did decide they wanted to go, however, he'd absolutely try to get them to enroll in kshahrewar.
like father like child!! they've been with the forest rangers for a while, so surely they'd be good with their hands by then.
alhaitham would try to get them into haravatat just to spite kaveh (those two are married, trust me!). his reasoning? they're far ahead of their peers in language. they'd thrive in an environment such as the one his darshan creates.
if they decide not to go? that's alright, too.
kaveh wants his child to thrive in an environment where they can safely and happily pursue whatever catches their interest, even if that means they regularly hop between subjects and ideas on a whim. inspiration is a skittish beast that would surely slip through their fingers if they aren't quick enough to pursue it; he understands this idea very well. it really isn't the end of the world if they don't want to go to the akademiya. they have plenty of scholars willing to teach them without all the academic stress attached—kaveh himself, alhaitham, tighnari, cyno...
(they're like a platonic co-parenting friend group LMAO they're raising [name] and collei together! they all help each other out!!)
kaveh is also very intent on teaching them to care for themselves before they try to care for anyone else.
he lives weighed down by guilt for things that weren't even his fault. he knows he's trapped by his own ideals; he'd be damned if he were to teach his child to be same way.
"do as i say, not as i do" kind of vibe. also definitely teaches his kid to "do no harm but take no shit"
(though, let's be honest: children learn through mirroring. if kaveh is not careful, his child will subconsciously adopt his self-destructive behaviors. thankfully, they do have other people to set them straight if they begin exhibiting such behaviors, namely alhaitham and cyno, who also do the majority of teaching them to "take no shit".)
ultimately, kaveh just wants his child to be happy, even if something were to happen to him. he doesn't want them to feel the way he does every moment of his life.
It wasn't often that Kaveh simply got to sit in calm silence with his child.
More often than not, they spent their time in Gandharva Ville with the forest rangers. However, every other weekend, Kaveh would take them back to Sumeru City with him; Alhaitham seemed to have no qualms with keeping them around after realizing the kind of child they turned out to be.
It was during the weekends the architect had them that he sought to spend as much time as possible with them.
Sometimes, that meant sitting peacefully in the silence together.
"...Little one," Kaveh called softly, hand stroking lovingly over their hair. They tilted their head back to meet his gaze, a small, inquisitive sound leaving their lips.
"Hm?"
"If something ever happens to me, I want you to know that you had nothing to do with it in any way, matter the circumstance. If something ever happens to me... it would not be your fault, okay? Do you understand?"
A heavy silence extended for a moment, and Kaveh could only watch as a variety of emotions crossed their face at once.
It unsettled him that they seemed to fight with themselves about how to respond, as if they couldn't agree with that.
Then again...
It wouldn't surprise him if they blamed themselves for the loss of their biological parents. Only time would tell if that pain would manifest into something worse as they got older.
"...Okay, baba. I understand."
He smiled, leaning down to kiss their forehead.
"Good."

out of all of the clouds in the sky, you are my favorite.
summary. imagine muichiro being the former tsuguko of the cloud hashira, [name].
trigger & content warnings. none applicable.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. fluff. muichiro tokito & hashira mentor!reader. 0.8k words. they/them pronouns for reader.
author's thoughts. muichiro the beloved <3333 hes my favorite ever fr, he deserves so much happiness.
Tumblr media
he adores his mentor so so much!! admittedly, he does show it in odd ways, but he really appreciates them in ways words cannot adequately describe.
when muichiro's on solo missions, he sends them little letters detailing the shapes he saw in the clouds. sometimes he even sends them shiny or textured rocks because he thought they would like them! it becomes very cute once one learns to understand his love language. he also gives them origami figures every now and then.
^ additionally, before their solo missions, he gives them origami cranes as a sort of good luck charm.
they have a history of becoming livid when the fragile things get crumpled by demons during missions. how dare they? that was a gift from their tsuguko, you know? they know the little paper cranes are easily replaced, and yet... it just makes them so sad to see them crushed.
the gifts he gives them are, for the most part, either handmade or non-traditional (rocks, a pretty shaped leaf, etc). sometimes he'll see something like a hairpin that he thinks they'd like, and so he buys it for them. any and every gift he gives them is appreciated, because just knowing that he remembers them better than almost anyone else and even thinks about them voluntarily is so heart-warming <3
he still calls them '[name]-sama,' even after he himself becomes a hashira. it's an improvement from '[surname]-sama,' sure, but they still insist he doesn't need to call them any such honorific anymore.
"[Name]-sama... that cloud, what's it called again?"
"I'm not your mentor anymore, Mui-kun," they commented with a little smile, hand raking gently through his silky hair. "You don't have to refer to me like that. It's okay to just call me [Name]. We're equals now, you know."
"No," he muttered his opposition, "you'll always be [Name]-sama to me."
"I only trained you for a brief... hmm, two months, was it? I'm not sure, but the point is that I trained you for a very short time."
"Doesn't matter."
"Hehe, I see. ...That's a cumulus cloud, by the way."
sometimes the two will cloud gaze together and just end up napping peacefully. both of them are light sleepers as a result of their job, but light doesn't necessarily mean restless.
mui associates them with the clouds—cloud breathing is their breath style, after all—and has often wondered about them when he cloud-gazes alone. are they okay? is their mission going well? is an annoying junior bothering them? he'll gladly tell them off if [name]-sama is too nice to.
he misses them a whole lot when they aren't around.
the mist hashira respects and trusts his mentor very deeply. he totally goes to them for like... everything.
cooking together is a very common thing for the duo; they love teaching him how to cook and bake and he loves learning. it reminds him of something he can't quite remember; simpler times, perhaps? they think it's very sweet that he's so willing to learn as long as they're the one teaching him.
they tend to his (minor) wounds, send him off on missions with snacks, braid his hair nicely so it stays out of his face... it's like he's been given a second chance at having a family. not that he remembers his first one, but still.
he sticks close to their side more often than not because of this.
muichiro is a little posessive of their attention, especially if they're doting on other junior demon slayers that are closer to his age (e.g., tanjiro, zenitsu, and inosuke). he gets a little jealous but takes great pride in being introduced as their former tsuguko. he's just worried they'll forget about him is all.
"silly mui-kun," they had once teased when they realized what was going on, "i'd never forget you. you don't need to be jealous; you're my favorite junior. ♡"
the other hashira find the attached behavior very endearing—he clings to them constantly, following them around like a lost puppy. it's moments like those in which the others are reminded that he's only a child that had his youth stolen from him far too early, so he subconsciously clings to the one person that really makes him feel safe and loved as every child should feel.
he accepts every gift from [name] with grace and humility. every single thing they give him is kept in pristine condition, even if it's a silly little trinket they picked up on one of their missions because "it's the same color as the ends of your hair, mui-kun." ridiculous!! ...what? he doesn't have to take it if he doesn't want it? no, back off, he's keeping it forever.
he especially loves all those silly gifts. knowing that someone he loves thought of him while they were away makes him all fuzzy and warm inside <33
[name] would be so protective of him. they know how many tsugukos shinobu has lost. to experience that... the thought alone makes them tremble with fear.
they're terrified that one day they might feel that pain too.
no-one will take their student from them, not when he's so young and has his entire life ahead of him. they will not allow it, even if it should cost them theirs.

Hello! I saw your works of what Kaveh and Cyno would be like as parents... That leaves me thinking of Al-haitham as a father. Would him take his child to his grandmother? Would he read them advanced physics books? (´°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥ω°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥`)
scholarly lineage.
summary. what would alhaitham be like as a father?
trigger & content warnings. brief hypothetical mentions of assault in general, can be interpreted as s/a, but is not explicitly stated to be that way. sensory overload mentions. spoilers for alhaitham's character stories.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. fluff. dad!alhaitham & reader. 0.7k words. they/them pronouns for reader. in this fic, alhaitham and the reader are both written as neurodivergent in some way; interpret it however you please!
author's thoughts. OUGDHSJGSJSG wait this is so cute. dad alhaitham..... it is such a cool thought, because with alhaitham, i don't think there's any obvious or "correct" way to write him as a dad. he could be overprotective. he could be very casual, the "cool dad" if you will. also i know i haven't been posting as much recently! it's literally only because i've been hyperfixating on hsr... whoops. /lh
Tumblr media
alhaitham as a father is a very interesting concept to me. now, believe it or not, i feel like he is a less strict father than cyno. he's actually relatively laid-back.
alhaitham is the kind of guy who raises his child to be smart. he raises them to play the game, not to be played by it, you know? therefore, he believes in his child's judgement and their ability to make wise decisions. he feels no need to be protective over them.
(however... that does not mean someone could do something harmful to them and get away with it. if anyone does anything to hurt them? abuses them? verbally, physically, or worse? good lord, he does not take well to that. he is a man with power, and by the gods, he'll use it if he has to in their defense.)
if his child has sensory issues, alhaitham is very attentive to those things and will get them any and all needed accommodations. if they struggle with auditory sensory issues where they get easily overwhelmed? they'll have ear pieces that match his. <3
when people point it out, depending on who they are, they will get one of two responses; either him very blatantly admitting that yes, their headset matches his, or him getting a little embarrassed and claiming it was all he had on hand at the moment. liar. /lh
it's kaveh that gets the latter response, of course.
if they ever happen to get annoyed with their father in their moments of overwhelm, he doesn't take it personally at all. sensory overload will do that to a person. he gets it, tbh.
i think alhaitham would definitely want his kid to attend the akademiya. ideally, haravatat, but he supposes he'd be okay if they enrolled in a different darshan. he'll recover...
UNLESS they enroll in kshahrewar. alhaitham would NEVER recover from a betrayal of that magnitude!! however, his grandmother herself was from kshahrewar, so... well. he'd get over it, he guesses. he'd still prefer if they enrolled in haravatat.
whatever darshan they enroll in honestly doesn't matter, though, because if anyone gives them trouble for any reason? all alhaitham has to do is give the problematic person a single look and suddenly the issue is resolved! apparently people think he's scary. not that he minds. he likes it that way; it keeps trouble away from both him and his child.
of course, he won't intervene unless they specifically seek out his help, because he knows his kid can handle themselves. still, he pulls a few strings behind the scenes every now and then. he doesn't really want to see his kid struggle. he knows they're intelligent, and he also knows he doesn't have to worry about them not wanting to work for themselves. therefore, he sees no reason to let them struggle needlessly.
he'd also understand if they weren't too big a fan of being surrounded by so many people. he isn't fond of it, either, so he'd let them stay in his office whenever needed. he'll even invite them to do their classwork in there rather than anywhere else in the akademiya, simply so that they don't have to be around a bunch of random people they couldn't possibly be less interested in.
alhaitham definitely read his kid very difficult books when they were little, which would totally lead to them being ahead of their peers. that really wouldn't be unexpected, i think. they probably enrolled in the akademiya a little early.
you know that "i know you don't know any astronomical pretentious voluminous colossal words" audio? yeah, that was alhaitham's kid when they were small.
also, yes, alhaitham would absolutely take them to his grandmother!! i think she would see their father in them, just like how she saw alhaitham's parents in him. of course, this is before her death.
i think alhaitham would ultimately be content that his child got to meet the woman who raised him.
to think that she saw himself in them...
it brings him an odd sense of pride and comfort.
and as a little treat:
kaveh is kind of like another dad (or like a wine uncle LMAO) for them. do what you will with this information.
please consider reblogging, it helps me out quite a lot!

hmm thinking about the recent trend with sibling xiao recs, what about if he has zhongli babysit one day? just some kind fatherly zhongli for the soul…
fatherly inclinations.
summary. zhongli takes on a fatherly role over xiao's younger sibling figure.
trigger & content warnings. brief references to implied violence.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. fluff. zhongli & reader, (implied) xiao & younger sibling!reader. 0.6k words. they/them pronouns used for reader.
author's thoughts. the way i had to literally dig this request out of my inbox..... it was all the way at the bottom....... the triple digits are getting closer every day LMAO but anyway. just know that if you have sent in a request, i promise you it does cross my mind every once in a while. anyways fatherly zhongli is very good for the soul!!!!! it is important to get your daily recommended dose of kind dad-like old man zhongli <3333
Tumblr media
i believe zhongli has a number of fatherly traits to him, whether he realizes it or not... but of course, i also think he is aware of it.
he is—or more accurately, was—rex lapis, after all. surely it wasn't uncommon for him to be seen as a fatherly figure? the people of liyue looked up to him as one when he was a god, so it isn't like it's a new experience for him or anything.
he's used to it, but that doesn't mean he feels any less endeared by people who deem him as such! it happens often, but he never ceases to feel a parental warmth when it does happen. perhaps it has something to do with his more... dragon-like instincts.
whatever the case may be, he isn't at all bothered by being seen in such a familial way. in fact, he's quite fond of it.
so, inevitably, he would naturally take on that kind of role over his own beloved son's yaksha's younger sibling figure.
...though, as good of a father figure as he is, i think he would be a little bit of a boring person for those not interested in his lengthy history rambles.
but assuming xiao's sibling is interested, for the sake of this post—
he's happy to tell them about anything they'd like to know. if they have questions about liyue's history or about the times when the other yakshas were alive, he's completely alright with telling them his tales... excluding the more violent and grotesque details, of course.
(something tells me he wouldn't want to ruin their image of him, but... he's sure they know part of the truth. they don't say anything about it, so neither does he.)
i think zhongli has a handful of funny stories about xiao, which he totally tells the yaksha's little sibling about. he doesn't mean to embarrass the poor thing! it's more of a wistful, fond nostalgia thing for the ex-archon. now, cloud retainer or madame ping on the other hand...
well. their stories would certainly come with the intention of being teasing, but zhongli is not either of those people. he does it because he's just very fond of those times.
if they're interested in doing something or spending their time somewhere, zhongli will just borrow mora from childe to make it happen LMAO
he'll also take them out to eat with that mora and let them get whatever they'd like <3 it's not like it would put a huge dent in childe's savings, anyway, so it's fine.
(to be honest, childe would probably be especially happy to share if he knew zhongli was using it to spoil a kid. he's just that kind of guy, you know? it shouldn't come as a surprise, given that he has little siblings of his own.)
AND AND AND consider zhongli telling them about liyue's native plants and flowers... he'll explain their symbolisms, how those meanings have evolved over time, what conditions they need to grow properly, etc etc. if they made him a flower crown, he would proudly wear it btw.
he likes sharing information, you know? it's something of a love language.
he's seen so much. he knows so much.
why should he withhold that information, those thousands of years of wisdom, from the people he loves? the way he sees it, maybe one day the information he shares will be of use.
[name] may not be his child biologically or legally, but he sees them as one of his own all the same, just as he did the yakshas and just as he does to the one who remains.
and, you know, if they happen to fall asleep at the end of the day on his shoulder, i don't think he would mind. he'd just lean over, gently kiss them on the temple, adjust their posture so that they don't wake up sore, and kindly murmur with all the tenderness to be expected of a man such as himself, "sleep well, little one."
perhaps xiao comes to find them and take them home, or perhaps zhongli takes them.back to wangshu inn himself.
whatever the case may be, they will be returned home safely.
nothing will get to them with zhongli around.
please consider reblogging, it helps me out quite a lot!

if i am the wind, fleeting and transient, you are the steady and constant earth upon which i stand.
summary. kaedehara kazuha's older sibling is a geo-aligned mirror of himself.
trigger & content warnings. references to tomo's death and mentions of sensory overload.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. fluff, hurt/comfort. kazuha & older sibling!reader, slight beidou x reader. 0.7k words. they/them pronouns for reader. reader has a geo vision.
author's thoughts. this was an old draft that i decided to finish bc tbh? kazuha >>> lately i'm finishing and posting old drafts? i think it's because i'm realizing that they aren't even half as bad as i originally thought.
Tumblr media
imagine being kazuha's geo bearing older sibling.
kaedehara kazuha is, for the most part, a gentle gale. fleeting, transient, evanescent.
kaedehara [name] is his polar opposite—they are the firm earth. lasting, enduring, permanent.
they were easily one of the raiden shogun's most vocal opposers during the vision hunt decree. how dare she treat her people with such lack of care? the people she should have loved? the people that she had once promised a dream to? where was all that love when she decided to cruelly rip her citizens' visions from them in spite of all the terrible effects such force had? where was all that love?
(even after the decree gets repealed, they would still be a little bitter. they're expected to forgive her, just like that? no. their forgiveness is a thing to be earned; hell, they may simply choose to never forgive her, and after all the pain she caused them and their brother? it would be justified. they do not care if she is an archon.)
"eternity is not complacency in a stasis-like state," they once told kazuha, "but rather, it is the endurance of a legacy for centuries to come. that is eternity."
they stayed back in inazuma, holding off the shogunate while kazuha ran away after tomo's death.
he cried when he had to part from them, but at their command, he ultimately did obey. as much as it hurt him to abandon them, not knowing if they'd somehow manage to escape on their own, he knew they would hate it if he refused to leave. so he did.
thankfully, the resistance took them in. they stayed with kokomi and gorou the majority of the time, helping them push back against the electro archon's tyranny.
kazuha definitely adores his older sibling!! he will literally never say a single bad thing about them to anyone. never. no slander will come from his lips.
when beidou first got to meet them, she was absolutely overjoyed; she can see where kazuha gets his attitude from! they also thanked her profusely for taking such good care of him when they could not. the two got on very well! kazuha was so happy to see some of his favorite people getting along <3
beidou loves them. genuinely.
she always encourages them to come on the alcor. there is always a place for them with her crew! sometimes they do take her up on her offer and they travel teyvat for a while. once their family affairs are settled, they'll start traveling full-time, occassionally returning to inazuma to visit their friends.
she also gets so excited when she knows they'll be on board—beidou likes exchanging stories with them and just... talking. she loves that.
someone had to teach kazuha how to play music on leaves, you know. it was definitely [name].
kazu and his sibling would compliment one another really well in battle. they'd be able to predict one another's next moves based on muscle twitches, changes in stance... it's like they can read each other's minds! they can't. they just know one another inside and out.
sometimes they'll cup their hands over his ears to protect him in situations where he cannot avoid a storm or similar thing that might hurt his ears. this gesture is greatly appreciated. kazuha does what he can to reciprocate that—if they're overwhelmed or overstimulated? his first priority is to get them somewhere calmer. they protect him in his moments of sensitivity, so it's only fair for him to do the same.
i like to think kazuha and his sibling sit and admire scenery together. maybe they point out shapes in the clouds. maybe they take note of interesting sounds they hear in the bushes. however the two spend their time admiring the world, it is always an enjoyable time.
i also think the two would play in the rain, as long as it isn't too heavy <3 dancing in the rain together, taking walks in the rain together... it'a comforting.
sometimes kazuha will lay his head on their lap as if he were some kind of cat, and he'll just fall asleep. a mid-afternoon nap on his older sibling.
on top of all of that, kazuha speaks his mind to his sibling, and he hopes they'll do the same. he wants them to always be honest about what they're thinking and how they're feeling.
he knows that, as the eldest, they may have had to carry heavy burdens all throughout his childhood, while he got the privilege of existing without a care in the world.
the heavy burdens will be no more.
he is old enough to help shoulder the weight, and help shoulder the weight he will.

how abt hcs abt gn teen (around 15-16) reader being kaeya’s biological younger sibling !!
if we have each other.
summary. what is it like being kaeya's teen younger sibling?
trigger & content warnings. child abandonment.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. fluff, slight angst. kaeya & younger sibling!reader. 0.7k words. they/them pronouns for reader.
author's thoughts. anon omg... ive been wanting an excuse to write something like this again for a while! i am a professional platonic kaeya enjoyer <3 anyway i hope you like these!!! i decided not to go into the whole ragnvindr family drama thing because honestly? i go into that a little too often when i write about kaeya. i chose to give him a break today!
Tumblr media
i see kaeya being very protective of his sibling. he's not so protective that it comes off as overbearing, but he's definitely very involved in their life only because he just... doesn't know what he'd do with himself if he let them get hurt.
given that he basically had to raise them...
it makes sense for him to be so involved. sure, he had help from the ragnvindr family, but kaeya did the most work when it came to raising his baby sibling.
when his father abandoned him in mondstadt, he also abandoned his youngest child, [name]. they were about two or three at the time.
he doesn't necessarily hold the same resentment towards the seven that other khaenri'ahns might, though he doesn't exactly lean in their favor either.
still... kaeya thanked the seven that they didn't get deathly sick (they were so young and frail that it really was a valid concern) that night in the pouring rain, despite how badly they shivered and cried. he'll never forget how utterly visceral their sobs were.
he doesn't doubt that they understood what was happening that night, despite how little they were.
because of that, kaeya doesn't hide anything from them. he tells them the entire truth about their origins as soon as they're old enough to coherently ask why their father abandoned them.
when kaeya and [name] were young, they were absolutely attached at the hip. once they're both older, they aren't seen together as much, but that isn't to say they aren't seen together; it's just that kaeya does have obligations as a knight and his sibling has their own commitments.
he loves them wholeheartedly.
if he had to betray khaenri'ah to protect them, archons know he'd do it. if he had to betray mondstadt to protect them, archons know he'd do it. he doesn't care as long as it means they'll be safe.
to kaeya, they are probably the most precious thing he has—ever since his falling out with diluc, at least. well... they were always his most precious thing. after his falling out with diluc, it just made them moreso.
part of the reason he despises those who threaten others' families is simply because of his sibling.
he does not take threats to their safety lightly, not at all.
kaeya's a very good brother overall, but he is 100% also the most annoying mf.
he's the type of older brother that makes his sibling do things for him and then guilt trips them when they tell him to do it himself LMAO
i feel like he can cry on command and does it just to make them feel bad when they tell him no!
you know that "i'm hungry. grill me a cheese" audio? yeah.
Kaeya: I'm hungry.
[Name]: So lick that coat, you smell like a—
Kaeya: Grilled cheese.
[Name]: What????
Kaeya: Grill me a cheese.
[Name]: I'm not grilling you a cheese!
Kaeya, sobbing on the floor:
[Name]: ...Oh, for Barbatos' sake.
kaeya, as protective as he is, is also very laid-back. his sibling has just about as much freedom as they could want (within reason, of course).
kaeya, his sibling, and klee are a chaos trio. the three of them have lit a concerning amount of things on fire.
he's very physically affectionate!
ruffling their hair, leading them along by the dip in their back, shoving them (lovingly)... he's clingy, really, and just likes being able to touch his sibling because it reminds him that they're safe and alive.
if they ever wanted to become a knight, he's right there to support them. if they wanted to become an adventurer, again, he's there to help them out.
whatever they want to do with their life, he's their greatest cheerleader.
kaeya will always support them, but he's also very tough on them when it comes to training them physically if their aspiration demands physical strength.
they want to be a knight? an adventurer? a traveler, perhaps? alright, but they need to take him down in a fight first.
he makes every duel with him the hardest fight of their life.
kaeya needs to be confident that they can effectively defend themselves, and if he isn't? sorry. they aren't going anywhere until he is certain beyond a shadow of a doubt. he needs to know they can handle themselves, because—as much as he hates to admit it—he may not always be there to protect them.
wouldn't it be interesting if they got a vision while in a duel with him?
that'd be a very fascinating twist of fate.

invisible disability? it's rather visible to me.
summary. baizhu knows the struggle of maintaining a job while being chronically ill; as such, he is willing to offer an accommodating work environment for others who struggle like he does.
trigger & content warnings. angst (at first... it gets better i swear /lh), ableism, etc.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. hurt/comfort. baizhu & chronically ill!teen!reader, qiqi & reader. 1.7k words. they/them pronouns for reader.
author's thoughts. he's out of nonplayable prison ygs!!!!! can't wait to see his character stories for..... personal reasons..... anyways i want to specify that i am chronically ill. i am constantly fighting with my genetics to be healthy, its ridiculous LMAO
Tumblr media
imagine baizhu employing a chronically ill, visionless teenager.
baizhu can easily say he's known their family for a long time, so he of course knows that they have trouble keeping a job. they often mention little things like that about their life during their visits with him. never once has he found anything wrong with them; they're always in virtually perfect health.
that doesn't change the fact that they're very clearly struggling. he's observed just how much they overexert themselves in a desperate attempt to actually keep a stable job, simply to help support their family, but all the exertion only seems to make their invisible issues worse.
also... they've been in his care for heat stroke more than once in liyue's warmer seasons. the heat is just far too much for their body to handle if they aren't careful.
"What the hell is wrong with me?"
Their voice was so quiet and whispery that if Baizhu hadn't been attuned closely to them at that moment, he might have missed it. They half wished that he would have. Based on the brief glance he spared in their direction, they knew he was listening. Oh well.
"I mean... really. This is ridiculous," they murmured, knees drawn up against their chest. "Everyone thinks I'm just dramatic. I'm not. I do fine for the most part, but then it just... gets bad for no reason at all... how am I in perfect health?"
By that point in their rant, his undivided attention was on them. Though his gaze was thoughtful, musing, they interpreted it differently and winced slightly.
"...Sorry. I really shouldn't be complaining like this in front of someone who's chronically ill."
"No, it's quite alright. You shouldn't minimize your pain. Your struggles are as valid as mine. I find your trust, your ability to confide in me, quite endearing, even," he reassured, unbothered, to which their shoulders seemed to lose some of the tension they harbored. "In fact... I've been thinking about this for quite some time now. Chronic illness may show itself in a variety of forms. Sometimes it may show itself in the form of your symptoms. Would you like to learn how to manage your energy better?"
the liyuean doctor basically hired them right then and there, but they don't really realize that for the first few weeks.
in the beginning, they're just... spending time at bubu pharmacy, learning how baizhu manages his own limited energy and applying those techniques to their own life (it works shockingly well). that's all!
it slowly turns into them helping out where they can—packaging herbs, learning what exactly each one of them does, delivering prescriptions to those who cannot physically get the medicines themselves... even when people start to question if they've found a new job, they remain oblivious.
it's one day while helping mince herbs that they realize they're basically a junior herbalist.
A soft hiss left their lips when the knife nicked the pad of their finger. They were quick to put pressure on the little cut, pulling their hand away from the countertop to prevent any blood from dripping onto it.
"It's best to get rid of those herbs," Baizhu reminded, stepping away from his own work to gently bandage their wound.
A small pout graced their lips. "I didn't get any blood on them, though..."
Amusement and the vaguest hint of fondness twinkled in his gaze. "We don't know that for certain, do we, now?"
"...Wait a minute." Their eyes narrowed suspicously at him, drawing their freshly-dressed hand back once he was done. "This isn't about energy management anymore, is it? Have I been... I've been working here this entire time. These tasks are very employee-like."
"Come, now. Don't look at me like that. You were looking for a stable job, and I am more than willing to accomodate your needs."
"You could've at least said something to me. I've been doing free labor all this time, and as a child, no less! Hmm... now, I do believe that is illegal in this part of Teyvat~ It'd be shame to get Ms. Yanfei involved~"
in the spirit teaching them to manage their energy, he often takes them on house calls with him, starting off to just homes in liyue harbor and later to homes all the way in qingce village. it's a good way for them to gain stamina and get a better understanding of their job.
baizhu has a tendency to smile through his own pain for the sake of his patients.
this habit slipped by unchecked until [name] came around.
whenever they feel like he isn't doing very well, they'll take over for him regardless of what he has to say about it.
herbalist gui is very thankful for them—baizhu hardly ever listened to him, but he does take better care of himself for [name]'s sake.
(he swears that baizhu is oddly parental when it comes to them, but he wouldn't dare mention the doctor's blatant affections to his face.)
"welcome to bubu pharmacy," they'd greet with a kind smile after unceremoniously shoving baizhu towards the back of the pharmacy where he could rest undisturbed, "unfortunately, dr. baizhu is currently out of commission, but herbalist gui and i would be glad to take care of anything you may need."
sometimes changsheng can be seen wrapped around their arm! usually it's their dominant arm, which is terribly inconveniencing. still, it would be an honor to be Chosen™ by their loved one's pet... if only she wasn't so mean to them.
"Hmph. You're terrible at cutting herbs. It pains me just to watch."
"Okay? Go back to Dr. Baizhu then? I'm not holding you hostage, Changsheng. You came to me," they huffed. "Also... maybe I'd be able to cut better if you weren't strangling my dominant arm. Just saying."
It's a few moments later that they're sulking, murmuring curses as Baizhu disinfected their fresh snake bite. Changsheng completely neglected to apologize until Baizhu had prompted her to.
(They would complain that he found that incident a little too funny if anyone were to ask them. It really hurt, you know!)
changsheng bullies them lovingly <3 she bites them affectionately <33
(not that she'd ever say that, though. baizhu knows. he just chooses to let her believe he doesn't know.)
qiqi becomes very attached to them very quickly, i think. she'd like having a nice older sibling around and would address them as such without even thinking about it. "jiějiě," "gēgē"... she can't really tell what gender they identify closer with and doesn't remember to ask, so she tends to bounce between the two terms of address.
she has an entire page in her journal dedicated to little things about [name] that she deems to be important. she notes down things they seem to like, things they seem to dislike, their birthday, other important dates, defining features...
she also keeps important warning signs related to health episodes of their's jotted down, like how when [name] stands still a little too long, qiqi should urge them to sit for a moment because they're probably either dizzy or having vision issues, or how when their hands begin to tremble, qiqi should share a sunsettia with them.
she does miss these signs sometimes... she does her best, though! qiqi only wants to help the sweet junior herbalist that braids her hair and accompanies her on her herb-picking trips and hugs her and says "i love you, please stop this task, you might get hurt" with so much genuine affection that it often overwhelms her :(
it's rare, but sometimes, there will be a customer or patient that has little tolerance for their disability-induced weakness or slowness.
because their illness(es) is(/are) invisible, very few people take their struggles seriously.
some people take this as an excuse to verbally and even physically abuse them.
baizhu does not take kindly to people abusing his employees, especially not his chronically ill teenage employee. especially not them.
"Is there an issue I can help with?"
They didn't mind being the only one at reception during the days Herbalist Gui was out, Qiqi was herb-picking, and Baizhu was otherwise occupied. It wasn't a big deal, really.
At least... not until someone particularly impatient decided to make their job difficult.
Baizhu never took kindly to such incidents; this one was no different. Based on his tone of voice alone, it wasn't hard to guess that he was livid, golden irises alight with rage. Even Changsheng had hissed in their defense at the sight in front of her eyes.
He'd come back just in time to see them flinch away from the raised hand of some foreign adventurer.
"This one—"
"And who said I was asking you?" he scoffed, sliding behind the counter and checking them for wounds. They were shaking, he noted, gingerly supporting a fraction of their weight in case they were to collapse. "I was asking my herbalist, [Name]."
Baizhu was a man of patience and, really...
He wasn't all that confrontational. Despite that, any semblance of the supposed cowardice he harbored was gone in an instant.
His scarred fingers drew soothing shapes on their upper arm as he led them into the back of the clinic, guiding them to sit on one of the beds before their legs could give out.
"Are you alright?"
baizhu takes very good care of them after stressful encounters because he knows very well that such high-stress emotional experiences will take a toll on their body.
whenever a wealthier patient comes in, they've learned to overcharge them on purpose even if it's for the most ridiculous of ailments; oh? you say you have been sneezing quite a lot and are having a hard time breathing? no, no, it's not springtime allergies, who told you that? it's quite dire, in fact, and the treatment price will be awfully expensive... oh? you'll pay it? wonderful!
^ herbalist gui says that baizhu is a terrible influence on them sometimes.
in their defense, they get hefty bonuses every time wealthy people pay ridiculous prices for typically rather inexpensive herbs (like a certain ginger harbinger did one time! they still giggle at the memory of him paying so much for so little). the more wealthy people pay, the bigger their bonuses (fatui harbingers are very wealthy...).
simply put, they make more mora than the majority of their family put together because of this morally dubious behavior.
baizhu, gui, qiqi, and [name] are a chaotic found family but yk what? they all make it work <3
please consider reblogging, it helps me out quite a lot!

Ok so I’ve seen you do dad Kaveh and Pantalone, but what if Cyno and/or Tighnari (they are a old married couple prove me wrong) adopted a (another) child? Have I nice day/night <3
fatherly duties.
summary. what is cyno like as a father?
trigger & content warnings. no applicable warnings.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. fluff. dad!cyno & reader. 0.6k words. they/them pronouns for reader.
author's thoughts. hello dear! i went with cyno for this particular post simply because i haven't really touched on what cyno would be like as a parental or otherwise male familial figure in any of my posts yet. i've done tighnari and kaveh as dads, but have never really talked about what cyno would be like as a father c: i projected all of my father issues onto this post LMAOOO
Tumblr media
i personally think that cyno would be a slightly more strict father than some of the other sumeru characters.
he's not strict to the point where his child would not be able to trust him. he does not create a child that feels the need to lie and hide things from him. archons know he would never forgive himself if the child he loved so dearly was afraid of him to the point where they felt the need to be dishonest with him.
no, he does not raise a child like that. rather, cyno raises a responsible child who's first thought upon getting into trouble would be "i need to tell my dad" instead of "my dad is going to be so mad at me."
sure, he'll scold them if they get into trouble, especially trouble that could have been avoided, but punishing them for it? that's generally out of the question. they've likely already suffered the natural consequences of their actions. they don't need any more punishment than that.
he refuses to parent his child with fear.
he does not want terrified obedience. he wants genuine trust and respect. scaring his child into obedience would not create the respect he seeks.
cyno's coworkers probably think he's the cruelest, most emotionally unavailable father to ever exist LMAO
contrary to popular belief, cyno is neither of those things.
he's the kind of dad to cherish the moment rather than obsess over how that moment might impact their future. some fathers get angry when their child is resting during times they could be doing work. cyno does not. some fathers think that enjoying time with their children is a waste because said children could be doing work in that time. cyno does not.
i like to think he would encourage his child to go to the akademiya, but wouldn't push it. their value as his kid is not determined by academics or academic ability. if they don't want to go? cool. if they want to go? also cool, he'll just encourage them to be very careful and tell them to make sure that their classes don't consume their entire life.
after all, an excess of desire is a dangerous beast that needs to be tamed. cyno knows very well that this also applies to academics.
he will not raise his kid to believe that the pursuit of knowledge is more important than them as a person or more important than their health—mental, physical, or otherwise.
oh yeah, also...
bro makes ALL the dad jokes. he has told every single terrible dad joke imaginable.
he thrives on seeing his kid smile, even if they're laughing at how awful his jokes are rather than because they actually find the jokes funny. he just loves their smile.
he totally would teach his kid to play tcg
^ imagine if they beat him effortlessly during their first time playing LMAO
i think cyno would sometimes take them along with him on his nighttime desert strolls. he's fond of the desert, the place he hailed from; he would very much like it if his child could appreciate its beauty as well.
he is very protective. that's a given, i think.
"you're not dating anyone until you're 30" kind of vibes HSKRJHBKJSS
he's only joking, believe it or not. he's fine with his kid dating, but as i mentioned, he is very protective; if their partner turns out to be an asshole...
well, cyno would not take that lightly.
don't fuck with his kid.
he does not tolerate that kind of thing. his child is probably the most precious thing in his life. as their father, their parent, it is his responsibility to protect them and shield them from the many dangers that teyvat has to offer.
and believe me, protect them he will.
please consider reblogging, it helps me out quite a lot!

Hiii^^ hope youre having a great day/night!! can i ask for platonic Tighnari and his child? where his child got a fever where its temperature hit 100 degrees, like how would he deal with that. If only its fine by you to do! take care and stay hydrated!!
what does tighnari do when his child is ill?
summary. how does tighnari handle his child's illness?
trigger & content warnings. fevers, descriptions of medicine and pills.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. comfort. tighnari & biological child!reader. 0.5k words. they/them pronouns used for reader.
author's thoughts. hello lovely!! i went with biological child!reader bc i think that would be a cute dynamic, just tighnari and his lil fox child <3 as someone who lives in a VERY hot state in the united states of america, i have had my fair share of experiences with the heat and fevers and whatnot. heat stroke sucks. getting EXTREMELY sick sucks. one time i had a fever of 106°F. that was crazy. pleaae remember to drink water this summer, especially if you live in a hot place like i do! dehydration can be very very serious.
Tumblr media
tighnari, although worried, is confident in his ability to handle his child's fevers.
tighnari is no stranger to heat stroke.
he's no stranger to being extremely sick, either, much as he hates when it happens.
on top of all that, he is no stranger to illnesses and ailments. he's a forest watcher. he's seen his fair share of conditions, so he's more than qualified to take care of his kid.
(he also might be just a little posessive—he dreads the thought of letting some other doctor taking care of them, only to make them even more sick. he's a worried mother fr. he'd be furious with himself and with the hypothetical doctor if something like that ever happened.)
he's very doting, but almost in an overbearing way LMAO
tighnari has them take medication on a very regular schedule. it's as if he has a sixth sense for when it's time for them to take their medicine again.
he may craft the medicine himself using local flora, but if their fever is bad enough, he'll go to sumeru city to pick up pills or liquid medicine (depending on what his child can take; as a person who can't take most pills, i totally understand being unable to swallow them). in the time he's gone, he usually has collei watch them. he trusts her.
he also sets a damp rag on their forehead, changing it every now and then once he feels like its absorbed enough heat from their body.
tighnari just stays very close to them in general if possible. he's worried, and he's noticed that they get a little fidgety and restless in their fever-induced delirious state if he's not around. when their fever delirium is at its peak, they might even cry if they can't hear or smell or otherwise sense him.
if he's busy with something he absolutely cannot reschedule or push back, he'll leave them with a clothing item of his. it's not the same, but it's better than nothing.
he often ends up sat at their bedside because of this. he can't have them stressing out; it'll both make their fever worse and make it harder for them to recover.
tighnari also does his best to keep them cool. sumeru is both hot and humid, and he knows from experience that their ears and tail will retain a lot of that heat, so he does a lot to keep their overall body temperature down.
he'll often end up carrying them to the river below gandharva ville so they can cool off like that. he'll carry them back, too. they may be too unwell to walk straight and he doesn't want to risk them falling or otherwise hurting themselves.
another thing he does is makes sure they eat enough.
they may not want to nor feel like they need to, but they do need to eat. if he somehow fails to coax them into eating, he'll get collei. it's hard to deny collei when she cooks specifically for them.
tighnari is said to be a little irritable when they're ill.
best not to ask him any dumb questions if his kid is sick (there are no dumb questions... not until his beloved child isn't doing well LMAO)
you think "teacher mode" is bad under normal circumstances? wait until you ask him something silly when his kid is ill.
yeah...
he's overall just very doting and attentive and worried for their health. everything goes back to normal once they're on their feet again <3
please consider reblogging, it helps me out quite a lot!

hello! i’m relatively new to your blog but i stumbled across your muichiro and hasira mentor!reader and i fell in love (has been a brainrot of mine for a couple weeks now), i was wondering if you could write a scenario about muichiro getting back from one of his first solo missions and the reader just doting over him and helping him clean up minor wounds, despite knowing he’s capable of doing it himself. (i loved the way your characterized the two in your previous writings <3) thank you! hope you have a lovely day!
the first solo mission's aftermath.
summary. muichiro's first solo mission would be a tough time for both him and his mentor, but when he returns, they are there to dote endlessly on him.
trigger & content warnings. self-doubt, depictions of minor injury.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. fluff, comfort. muichiro tokito & hashira mentor!reader. 0.7k words. they/them pronouns for reader.
author's thoughts. this post is an expansion of out of all the clouds in the sky, you are my favorite. hello dear!! welcome to my blog, i hope to see you again in my ask box at some point <3 mui requests are always welcomed. hes my beloved son frfr. thank you so so much, any compliments about how i characterize canon characters are very much appreciated! thats one of the highest forms of praise i could get as a writer. it means a lot when people tell me they like the way i write certain characters, so i really do appreciate it!
Tumblr media
tbh i think [name] would cry when seeing him off for the first time.
they would try to hold it together solely for muichiro's peace of mind, offering him a shaky smile and, in a trembling voice, wishing him well as he departs from their mansion.
there's no way seeing one's tsuguko off is an easy experience. each hashira surely has to wonder if their respective student will return or not, if they have taught their student well enough, if their first mission will be easy or go terribly wrong.
there's just... so, so many things that could go wrong.
while mui is gone, i think the cloud hashira would sit and nitpick everything they taught him. they'd worry that it wasn't enough. they know he is impossibly strong for his age, but...
strength does not inherently equal experience. a demon slayer can have all the biological advantages that they want, but if they don't have adequate experience, all that strength will mean absolutely nothing.
meanwhile, mui feels a distinct sense of discomfort and unrest after he leaves.
something about leaving doesn't sit well with him. he doesn't want to leave. he wants to go back, or he wants them to come along.
(he does not understand why at the time, but a few years later, he'll begin to understand that he simply didn't want to leave them on the brink of tears like that.)
in the end, though, muichiro returns after only a few days in one piece, completely unharmed except for a few minor scratches.
his face might not change when his beloved mentor immediately brings him into a tight embrace, but the way his body relaxes into their arms is telling enough.
"welcome back, tokito-kun," they'd whisper, cheek pressed to the top of his head.
"...i'm home, [surname]-sama."
home... the implications of that statement would make their heart burst. indeed, he is home if he's with his mentor. if he's with them. they squeeze him just a little tighter after that.
"[surname]-sama, i can't breathe."
"ah?! i'm sorry! sorry, i didn't mean it!"
mui honestly would just let them dote on him.
they'd gently brush his hair and pull it back into a braid, sending a distinct feeling of nostalgia through his foggy mind.
they'd clean his wounds, opting to take him to the butterfly estate if anything seemed wrong or infected.
they'd just dote on him.
he does enjoy the attention and he realizes that it helps them feel better, so... he just lets them do whatever they feel is necessary.
the attention is really comforting for him, though. he's so young. he shouldn't be fighting demons at this age, and yet, he is. [name] knows this.
to make up for it, they spoil him in all the attention someone so young would need to grow properly.
"So... how did your mission go? I suppose it must have gone rather well," they mused with a gentle smile, gingerly flushing a small yet somewhat deep scratch on his cheek with a saline solution that they'd borrowed from those at the Butterfly Estate. "You're hardly hurt."
"Yes. It went fine," he confirmed in a murmur, doing his best not to move in order not to disrupt their work. "...I thought I was fast enough."
"Hm?"
"I thought I was fast enough to avoid being scratched."
"You did your best," they chuckled, securing a small patch over the scratch to keep any bacteria out, "and believe me, this is nothing. The kinds of injuries you can get in this line of work... this is nothing, really. It's fine. Just make sure it doesn't get infected."
Backing away from his face, they looked over their work before nodding firmly. "Alright. I'm done."
Slowly, the boy raised a hand to his cheek, fingertips ghosting over the freshly-dressed wound. Some kind of foreign warmth spread through his chest. He shifted in place, timidly avoiding their eyes. "...Thank you."
"Hehe. Of course." Not a single thing got past them, it seemed. They brought no attention to his sudden embarrassment, however. "Anyways, are you hungry? Kanroji-san invited us to come out with her to this place a few towns over. I hear they're really good."
He simply listened to them ramble, nodding along absentmindedly when they asked for his input.
He liked their voice.
It was comforting.

hi hello hey i am making a request!
i don’t think i’ve requested anything in a while but here i am!! can i ask for asta with a younger sibling!reader, maybe some found family with arlan sprinkled in? 👀
as always i love your work aph!!!
- ⭐️
the love of a sister.
summary. what would asta be like as an older sister?
trigger & content warnings. implied injury.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. fluff, found family. asta & younger sibling!reader, arlan & reader. 0.5k words. they/them pronouns used for reader.
author's thoughts. YEAHHHHH my first hsr request comes from one of my lovely emoji anons 🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶 my hsr fic writer arc has begun.... i love asta and arlan they are so found family
Tumblr media
oh, i just know asta is an overprotective, overbearing older sister. she means well, don't get me wrong! but she can most definitely be a bit... much. her love is boundless and she always wants her sibling to know just how much they mean to her. therefore, she can come across as very strong and passionate.
i think asta's younger sibling would take after her interest in the stars! as a child, asta's little sibling would follow her around like a little lost duckling and listen to her teach them about the universe with the widest, most curious little eyes.
had her family ever been critical of them, as they were to her, she would have been absolutely livid. her sibling is brilliant (just like their big sister 🫶)! talking down to them will not be tolerated. not as long as she's around. she argued in her own defense, so you had better believe she would argue in her sibling's defense, too.
with these things in mind, it's obvious that she would bring them to herta space station with her. she couldn't bear to be parted from them, anyway, so she would have been so happy that their interests are similar to hers.
just as arlan followed her, so did they.
if asta knows that she isn't going to have the time to watch them and hang out with them, she'll task arlan with watching them, even when her little sibling huffs and complains and insists that they don't need a "babysitter."
(a nasty encounter with the antimatter legion would prove that they do, in fact, need a babysitter. they'd try to convince arlan not to tell their sister about the danger they faced, but he does anyway. he thinks she has a right to know. he's apologetic about it though LMAO and asta? oh, asta's protectiveness increases tenfold after that incident.)
asta is generally quite busy, so arlan usually keeps them company. he eventually became become something of a permanent babysitter.
asta likely feels a bit bad that she doesn't often have freetime to spend with her sibling, so to make up for it, she's always buying them gifts!
it could be something they mentioned halfheartedly in conversation once, a fleeting comment about a cool device or an interesting book they heard about, and asta would get it for them, leaving it on their bedside table for them to find.
she would remember the little details like that. everything she does for them is very kind and thoughtful; it's easy to tell how much consideration goes into her gifts.
arlan would be something of a brother figure to them, i think. after spending so long with him, having known him since before their time at herta space station, it would be inevitable.
his smiles are generally a rare sight...
...but not for asta's little sibling.
he smiles a lot for them <3 around them, he is safe and comfortable and can let down his guard. of course, he's still alert. he needs to keep them protected, per asta's request... and also because the poor thing would never forgive himself if he let something happen to them. he loves them just about as much as asta does.
if they asked often enough, he would eventually cave in and teach them how to protect themselves, as long as asta approved.
^ i believe she would, albeit reluctantly. she trusts arlan! she knows he won't hurt them on purpose, that isn't what she's worried about or bothered by. it's just that it somehow makes her a little emotional to see her little sibling so grown up...
overall, asta is a very good big sister!
she has her faults, but really, doesn't everyone?
please consider reblogging, it helps me out quite a lot!

i just read both of your muichiro works and I’m really impressed 😭😭💓, so I would like to request some thing. What would the reader (gender neutral pls) have to do to cheer giyuu, obanai and muichiro when they are is sad
what might one need to do to raise the hashiras' spirits?
summary. how do you comfort the hashiras?
trigger & content warnings. no applicable warnings.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. reverse comfort. muichiro tokito & reader, kyojuro rengoku & reader, tengen uzui & reader. 0.7k words. no pronouns for reader.
author's thoughts. hello lovely!! thank you so much. muichiro is like... my favorite ever, so recieving praise for the content i write of him is so heart-warming <33 on a more serious note, please please remember to read my rules before requesting. like any writer, i have boundaries. it states who i do and don't write for, and as of right now, i'm just not comfortable writing for giyuu or obanai. i replaced them w/ kyojuro and tengen. muichiro's is the longest though bc i love my son <3333 also this is kind of a different writing style than my usual content? if you guys like it enough i might try to use it more often.
Tumblr media
T. MUICHIRO—
oh this boy. this poor boy.
i like to think that he goes through random bouts of sadness and frustration, especially before he regains his memory; he doesn't even know where his deep-seated rage towards demons come from! that fact just perpetuates his frustration. he can't understand why he's so angry and that only serves to anger him more.
also, let's not forget that he's a child. he is a fourteen-year-old child. he has a hard time processing his feelings and working through his trauma alone. children need love and support, love and support that he does not get enough of.
(the other hashira try their best, but let's be honest—they're all always so busy. they wouldn't realistically have time to attend to the emotional needs of a child.)
i don't care how independent canon muichiro seems to be.
he is a child. he grew up too fast.
to ease his soul, i think the best course of action would simply be to dote on him.
he needs the attention. he really does.
dote on him.
brush and braid his hair (braiding it would have practical value, after all!) with his permission, cook for him... just small, familial gestures.
he may or may not cry.
if he does, squeeze his hand and run your thumb over his knuckles. he's like a cat; do not make any further contact unless he initiates it first.
he probably won't vent because he doesn't know what's upsetting him. just let him cry it out. don't expect an explanation (and don't be surprised if he forgets about his breakdown soon after it happens).
give him a lil forehead kiss. he deserves it.
R. KYOJURO—
kyojuro is an interesting one!
i personally think that doing little domestic things with him would be a good way to cheer him up.
or even just doing things with him, spending time with him.
take a walk! go out to eat! make friendship bracelets! any activities done together are always a good bet with kyojuro.
simple little gestures are definitely the way to go, too. he's got a big heart. it's really not too hard to cheer him up, as long as your efforts are genuine.
also, definitely give him a big hug. he'd love that. squeeze him like your life depends on it. it won't hurt him; he's a hashira. he'll be fine.
i headcanon that he's a very good cook!
he is, however, a disaster with baking.
doing things like cooking and baking with him would raise his spirits so so effectively. trying to teach him how to bake would be really good for making him laugh, because i guaruntee that you & him would end up covered in flour and shit like that LMAO
be sure to listen to him talk if he decides on opening up. he'll appreciate having someone that listens.
U. TENGEN—
we all know this man is flashy and loud!
because of this, i think the best way to cheer him up would actually just be sitting in the silence with him.
no words, nothing. just calm silence between two friends.
observe the stars at night with him. listen to the wind rustle leaves and blades of grass.
anything that's simply low effort and relaxing would be good for him, i think. he's got so much energy all the time. tengen spends so much time being... loud and—obviously—flashy.
because of that, every now and then, he needs quiet time to recover.
he needs to decompress sometimes.
like kyojuro, i think he'd appreciate a good hug too. in his case though, it would be best and most effective to hug him once he's feeling better, not while he's feeling bad.
with his permission, massage the tension out of his shoulders. that would help too.
really, he just needs a judgement-free safe space in which he can wind down. i don't imagine him as the type to vent, so that's not something he'd be doing. he just needs someone who understands his need for the quiet, someone who won't pressure him to open up when he just isn't ready to.
he just needs a friend to be there for him.
please consider reblogging, it helps me out quite a lot!

Hello! I really appreciate that you are willing to write platonic fics🥹 Can I request douma with gn reader? Can be any trope you want
the founder's companion.
summary. doma has a child now! what could possibly go wrong?
trigger & content warnings. canon-typical blood & violence, cult discussions, doma is his own warning.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. fluff. doma & demon!child!reader. 0.6k words. they/them pronouns for reader.

doma definitely has a habit of picking up random, orphaned, half-dead kids off of the street. he would totally do it all the time. he picks up random kids and turns them into demons. he just thinks they're so pitiful! it's so sad, he could just cry for them... seeing poor little children with no other hope forsake humanity and slowly become cruel demons is very entertaining for him, though. children are the pinnacle of human innocence, after all.
because of this, literally no-one is surprised when he shows up to an upper moon meeting with some kid balanced on his hip.
did he procreate??? did he take them under his wing after murdering their entire village?????? who knows. the other upper moons sure as hell don't. they don't care to either.
(akaza is kind of worried though because what the fuck? who let doma of all demons have a child??)
doma is oddly enamored with them, cooing at the way they absentmindedly toy with the ends of his blonde hair.
it's almost as if they feel no fear, no concern over the fact that the third most powerful demon in existence is holding them in his arms as if they were his own child... not that doma would feel anything towards a child of his own, of course.
if anything, the child he holds seems downright bored, murmuring some incoherent complaint about being dragged along again as they tiredly lay their head on upper moon two's shoulder, drifting in and out of consciousness.
the fact that they hold little fear towards muzan is also very concerning, but perhaps that has to do with the cult leader's influence; he sure as hell doesn't fear muzan, why should he teach them to?
they have no regard for... any demon, for that matter. the upper moons are collectively quite surprised to see them smile slightly at doma; it's the most expressive that little kid has been since the demons laid eyes on them... maybe that's part of why he took them in? their overall minimal expression seems to have made doma fond of them.
when they do express something, however...
their little fanged grin is very cute in doma's eyes. he thinks they're very cute. <3
he says shit like "you're so cute, i could just eat you up!" but he's dead serious. they genuinely don't give a single fuck. they probably just reply with something like "do it. i dare you. coward. you won't."
they're right, he won't.
(he could; he just chooses not to.)
i wholeheartedly believe daki and gyutaro would be jealous of them. doma knows this. he finds it funny, or as funny as an emotionless demon could find something to be, anyway.
those two know better than to harass them, though. it's in their best interests to let that child be, no matter how jealous it makes them.
doma is not the demon to enrage. the siblings know that; it's best that they don't push their luck with him.
the eternal paradise cult adores them.
(it's mostly because they wouldn't dare do anything to upset their founder, but still! some of those people are genuinely enamored with lord doma's little companion.)
everyone's always doting on them, spoiling them with the same twisted, religious love that they treat doma with.
what's really worrying, though, is that this demon child will inevitably grow into the same twisted habits that doma has.
akaza worries that they'll end up like him.
upper moon three is a demon; he's not heartless (some demons are, he supposes, but he is not one of them).
his concerns are reasonable.
because really, when faced with doma's tendencies towards messy bloodshed and violence, all they do is huff and point to a newly stained carpet: "look what you did. you got her blood on the new carpet, doma-sama. that will never come out."
demons have twisted relationships, but at the very least... doma's done nothing to hurt them.
hopefully, he never does.
please consider reblogging, it helps me out a lot!
