hello and welcome to my conspiracy theory of why i think chip zdarsky is actually lana del rey

ok so chip zdarsky wrote batman: the knight aka one my favorite comics of all time. and batman the knight is aesthetic as fuck

now if you haven’t read the comic, this comic is about a young bruce wayne travelling the world and learning the skills it takes to be batman. along the way, he meets minhkhoa khan who later becomes ghostmaker and they train together. a lot. oh and also travel the world together. anyways a big plot point is that bruce wayne and minhkhoa khan are grappling with choosing their respective missions or each other because they’re gay for one another

so while they are figuring all this bs out, they are using pseudonyms for reasons and THEIR PSEUDONYMS ARE JACK AND ANTON (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT)

anyways i’ve seen a lot of people say that this comic reminds them of a lana del rey song, specifically cinnamon girl. there’s not that many ao3 fics about this comic specifically but of the 20 or so, i’ve seen at least three that reference cinnamon girl by lana del rey. so i was listening to that song because it is fucking ethereal and somehow ended up looking up the credits for that song. AND. THE GUY WHO PRODUCED IT’S NAME IS JACK ANTONOFF.

so this basically confirms that chip zdarsky is actually lana del rey who wrote batman the knight inspired by her song cinnamon girl and as a tribute to cinnamon girl, named the two main characters jack and anton after the producer of cinnamon girl.

I was monitoring study hall in the auditorium today (complete side note: while we were in there this morning they had a maintenance crew literally uninstalling the old folding seats and grinding steel on the floor, sparks were everywhere, it was a Thing) with another useless sub, right. it’s the end of the school year and a bunch of teachers are proctoring exams or there’s vacancies, whatever, so it’s just me and her with like 75 kids. so we’re sitting in there and this kid I recognize from a lot of the IB/AP classes I cover comes in from another classroom looking slightly bewildered and asks me if I have a graphing calculator he can borrow 

now. me being a) a substitute, and b) a person who wants nothing to do with complex mathematics of any kind, did NOT have a calculator to spare, but I politely said he could feel free to go around the room and ask if somebody had one he could borrow. abrupt plot twist: this kid IMMEDIATELY chokes up, won’t talk, won’t engage with the other kids, and starts crying. like totally freezes. and I’m just sitting there like :blinkblink: what is happening? he’s 17 years old and I’ve never seen him act like this in the 2-3 years I’ve been subbing at this school with him. 

the other sub, still useless, just sits there and watches him do this. doesn’t move, doesn’t say anything. I swear to god I get paid to be at that location because I’m at least partially competent even if I can’t fucking teach curriculum. 

so my brain decided he must’ve been having some kind of weird anxiety or trauma response? idk man, I was just winging it, but I immediately got up and went around and asked the kids if they had a spare graphing calculator. somebody offered theirs up and I thanked him for it, asked where we could return it later, and then brought it back to the student who needed it. I have no idea what was going on with this kid but jesus christ I hope his day got better once we secured the calculator. and that my friends........IS ON THE REALITY OF MATH CLASS TRAUMA IN PUBLIC SCHOOL! 

#I still have memories of things that happened to me in my junior and senior year math classes that I think may be dreams #I had the same teacher for both years and she thought I was an idiot and was not quiet about that fact #seeing that kid cry just made me think something rough was going on and boy howdy have I been there #pretty sure I have some form of dyscalculia #but I passed the 2011 AP Stats test with a 4/5 so that woman can suck it forreal

maybe this is unprogressive or whatever but i truly want some of my teachers to have a terrible time. i want my math teacher to be swamped grading a million tests and homeworks and go wow im such a fucking idiot why would i assign hw the week of a test i suck so terribly. woe.

#ok bascially for my ap stats. instead of a final test we have a final project and it was like an hour before the deadline #and i needed to figure out what i was going to do #so in the end . inspired by my anger at my mother who does not squeeze out the sponge after she uses it #and just lets the water sit in there #i chose like whether squeezing out the sponge slows down the souring process #but in order ot test this. i have to waste . 30 sponges #technically its 60 but im just going to cut them in half #anyways i went down to the basement and took out 30 whole sponges that i will effectively be dumping in the garbage after this #and i feel . like a horrible person
