Insane sound design glitches interject beautifully composed piano and synth layers, weaving together into some sort of enormous mechanism. Rhythms coalesce and fall apart, melodies float between seemingly infinite states, everything reshaping itself as we go deeper and deeper into the imagined world. Everything from the cohesive sonic palette, to the flow of each song and phrase, to the journey of the whole album has been considered in incredible detail. If this is Amaranth Todd’s early work in hyperglitch, I think we should all be excited for (and afraid of) what’s to come. Amaranth’s sound design, oscillations between obscured and clear pulse, dynamic forms, and mosaic layers are exactly what I imagine when I think of hyperglitch, and is exactly the type of music Philippe Macnab-Seguin and I have been working on outlining in our forthcoming paper about Hyperglitch and Aural Sonology. All the while, Amaranth’s many years of musical experience bring new and exciting ideas to the style. #it's ok i caught it early they're already getting better ! #cool thing about my endlers is that they will just not care about being moved to an antirely different tank. its ok. #idk why they got it in the first place though... maybe my Temperature was a little too high ? #apparently adding a tiny amount of salt helps preventing it #i did that along with disinfectant fish medicine and lowering my temp a little and it seems to be working like a charm #arf
