For just $155.00 This Victorian or Edwardian period lap robe blanket was made by the Chase Company. Tag on back. Chase made their carriage blankets out of Mohair . It's a heavy 60" x 47". This one has a gorgeous vivid floral design bordered by a red green plaid. It sheds a bit like these are all known to do. A few weaving pulls and I found a couple of red spots that don't look like they belong. This carriage blanket is 100 years old or older.. so wear is to be expected. I did not find any holes. Many are in museums and it is rare to find the same pattern twice. Beautiful for a throw or wall hanging. Quite heavy as they were designed for carriages, sleighs and even cars when cars were invented. The blanket not only kept you warm but also kept and mud off of you too!
