(My) Final BATIM cast part 1/3

Hey :) I'm the kind of crazy fan who tries to read and see everything when I start to get really into a fandom. (Which is impossible, of course, but I try very hard). So after a year of reading a lot of fancomics, I wanted to make a list, a cast of the BATIM characters whose customization I prefer.

A nice way to salute the awesome artists of the fandom (and to say goodbye to tumblr too :).

I hope you like it!

1.Joey by @halfusek

I can't think of Joey Drew without thinking of Magenta. "Abomination" is one of the first BATIM comics I ever read, and Joey is really wonderful in it, a tragic and cruel character that you hate to love.

2. Henry ( design by @pinstripe-doodles​ and character by @nayialovecat​)

I love the quiet smile, the salt and pepper hair. I really like to imagine Henry like this, a handsome and calm man between two ages (because he really reacts with incredible calm in the game, right?) ^^.

And character-wise, I loooove Nayia's character in SATIM (which is funny because he's not the main character for once). But her Henry is really brave and incredibly optimistic. I find him really endearing, nice and really well rendered.

3. Sammy by @inkdemonapologist

I came across "Escape AU" quite early, and I think Sammy is really well rendered. I also imagine him as a bitter, cantankerous man who won't let anyone near him for fear of getting hurt because he's been hurt so many times before.(and he's very handsome too, which doesn't spoil anything :) 

4. Inky Sammy by @metallicartist​

"Ink stain" is a good comic, a revisiting of the history of the game but this time with a conscious Inky Sammy with Henry. And what a Sammy! I love his relationship with his old friend, his sarcasm and his latent despair.

5. Inky Bendy by @bravagio

He's beautiful, I think, halfway between cartoon and horror. Bravagio really makes him evolve in an interesting way in his AU "Ante lucem tenebris" (which is great and beautifully drawn!).

6. Perfect Bendy by @yunisverse​

Made perfect by the memory of his fame, his Bendy is a real toon, who wouldn't have been a patch on the Warner Bros films, annoying but adorable, with a dubious humour. Great. Really great. I'm a (veeeeeery) big fan of this AU ;). Everything about it is awesome, and if I could I would have definitely put in all her/his versions of the BATIM cast ( toon Henry is so good, Sammy is really crazy and pathetic, Boris is adorable, Joey very interesting... and I forget!)

There's no way I finish to colour this it's like sit in my folders for too long, wanna get rid of it

Anyway, this one pic of Sam-sam and Boris from Joey's sketches has haunted me cause it's damn cute. So I thought it would be interesting see the proud music director teach how to play the clarinet to Boris, and see, It's funny whether you headcanon Boris as Wally or as Buddy. I think Sammy as teacher would be strict, like a very precise and no-nosense piece of brick, but able to teach you splendidly and is very very very patient.

Also it's so obvious that I don't know shit about music, this is embarrassing.

you said in the cartoon Henry post that there was a previous ink!Henry that was "conscious, unstable and violent"-- out of curiosity, what did that Henry look like?

The first copy was a disaster. The problem was, beside the body falling apart, that this Henry wasn't brainwashed as Joey hoped. This copy knew what's going on and can't follow orders, so it wasn't suitable for the loop.

From Henry's perspective was indeed time for violence. He's back to life tanks to some magic bullshit machine, last memory was being murdered and now he find himself in a disgusting, dripping and painful body, of course the first thing you want to do is rip off every bone from that Drew bastard!Joey was scared shitless and send him back in the machine immediately.

Question, how would your ink demon boyo look if he was just a bit more on model? Curious to hear your thoughts

@toon-artist403 Let's see, i think he became probably something like this

Still imperfect but on the way to be on model. His ink is more solid so it doesn't drip anymore except on the face, because is cool; he has a less skeletal and more round form not because he's healthier but to look a little more like the dancing demon; the left foot is an attempted boot, less deformed but it still makes him limp.

My idea is that when the ink machine create him (and then all the others) had to find a balance between make him look on model and give him a body still functional and alive, so the result was a compromise. And what a machine would know about beauty, perfection and human life?

In your BATIM AU, does Boris still see the Ink Demon as his best friend, Bendy?

I had replied a similar question, and I can add that yes, they see each other like frends/sibling-like but not because they're reminiscent to their cartoon life but because they are both close to Henry.

has henry ever crossed paths with that Evil Henry copy? What would it be like for him and the others?

Nope, to make our Henry the 'evil' one body and soul had to go back to the ink machine, so if one exists the other can not.

But, hypothetically, if they could coexist and meet I think they would be both startled but not hostile. I mean, the 'evil' Henry doesn't have any reasons to be violent, he's not even really evil, he was just angry af with Joey. Buddy is pretty scared by him so he stays 10ft apart; Alice Angel is upset more from pity than fear; Sammy, Tom and Allison don't trust him and stay on guard; the Projectionist thinks something like "???Two of 'em??" and the Ink Demon don't actually understand what's so upsetting about a copy.

Probably 'evil' Henry will ask our Henry to kill him and send him back in the dark puddles, with the promise to free everyone. Henry is reluctant in first place, but then agree.

Sometimes, while composing symphonies for his Lord, Sam-sam distractedly lifts his mask slightly, giving a glimpse of what remains of his face. In that moment you can see him smile, happy to do what makes him still human in a hell made of ink.

When Alice came to Henry’s side she instantly gain confidence, like she's with him since ever. She show her affection to Henry by sharing with him and him only personal things like an important memory but also a cool rock she found.

Buddy bond with Henry trought drawing, after all they're both artists. For Buddy have an expert artist like Henry as teacher who's also kind and patient is the absolute best! Henry just love teach to him, he's such a talented boy!

The Ink Demon is pretty diffident, he need a little more time. Henry try to explain there's no need to be called something serious like 'Creator', so the Ink Demon call him Stein instead. Because you know, call someone by first name is too much confident.

After the Golden Seraphim is defeated, Susie 'reborn' in her new physical form; Her body is more a pile of ink, but mentally she's perfectly conscious, aware of herself and with the memories of all what she's done before.

Henry and toon Alice are basically the only ones willing to give her a second chance. Tom, the Ink Demon and the Projectionist just want a fast and bloody revenge, in fact Henry has an hard time trying to calm down them. Sammy, buddy and Allison are conflicted.

Yo! how's going? I'm so tired lol, here we have memes, Jack and Sam-sam been the middle age married couple they are, the Projectionist protects Alice cause strong must protect the sweet and the toon trio show some affection to their old man in their own way. I'm not used at drawing sweet and affectionate things cause they give me second hand embarrassment but I still need to try.

The Golden Seraphim

The golden seraphim is a boss to fight in my au. She comes into possession of the gold ink by tricking Henry and uses it instead of ink hearts to make herself perfect. She will succeed and become extremely powerful, but loses gradually control of herself in the gold ink.

She then will be stopped by Alice Angel which totally snap to protect the other.

It happen sometimes people asked me about my batim employees human appearance. I've no one unfortunately, but I've got the toon version of my Henry right from the short tombstone picnic, which is the most near to the human one. Plus Henry from the first loop and 414th loop.
