Metal Men anniversary - comic cover remake
Created as a last minute filler in 1962, Metal Men were unusual for the time, like apparently being set in a universe with no other DC comics characters or seeming to know at times that they were comic book characters.
Here's our cover remake.

85 years. And nothing to show for it.
Superman is 85 years old.
Any signs of progress to show the audience?
Nope.
He still wears the red granny panties. Every other superhero opted to wear their underwear on the inside. Not Superman.
He still works at the Daily Planet as a reporter. No matter printed media is agonizing. Mostly wearing the same clothes: a three pieces suit and a tie. Even a Fedora.
Comic books and sci fi movies popularized nanotech to make the transition to supersuits from civilian garments smooth. Superman keeps wearing a supersuit made of common fabric he wears under his civvies.
His adventures are mainly based in the City of Metropolis. This is important to remark, because he has the ability to fly beyond our Solar System. He can even roam the whole World with his profession. For some reason, Metropolis is important for the multiverse.
He has, for decades now, an ice palace in the North Pole, with advanced technology from his native planet of Krypton, far more advanced than the Batcave, but, for some reason he still lives in a one bedroom apartment in his City of Metropolis.
It has been said Lois Lane is his tether. She's his tether, alright. His tether to the past. He can't quit the Daily Planet, because of her. He can't leave Metropolis because of her. He can't do anything sha can't do, because if she can't, he can't. The few times they gave her superpowers, she was having Metropolis as base of operations. Lois can't be anything other than a star reporter at the Daily Planet. That's her domain and realm. Nothing else matters. As she is impaired of moving on, Superman can't also move on and be a modern hero.
Happy 85 years of stagnation, Superman. Long road to nothing.

How meet to your Soulmate?
Timpani's POV:
Today I'm going the way I always use. I love this lonely park because I find a lot of flowers that smell very good, and the path itself is green because of the grass. I love spring.
But my mind is not as calm as usual. When I went to the store, the owner asked me when I'm getting married, and he wasn't the only one, most of my acquaintances and relatives put pressure on me to find a husband. So I've been thinking about it lately.
When I was a child, I thought about how I would meet my soulmate, and I'm still wondering.
I start jogging and hum a song, picking flowers along the way.
My best scenarios of how it would come to pass have been various, such as: I dropped my things and when he offered to pick them up we touched hands like the stories i read as a kid (somewhat childish) or that he was new to the town and making eye contact we would fall in love, or (my personal favorite) when I was about to fall from... I don't know he would catch me in his arms to prevent me from falling.
But those are just dreams of a girl and her fantasy of falling in love, and the truth is, I don't know how I'm going to meet the love of my life, I just know that the universe plays in very mysterious ways. Little did I know that I would soon experience it on my own.
I was almost arriving at my house when I saw him
A blue-skinned man at the foot of a cliff, apparently unconscious and probably injured.
Seeing him, I let my shopping bag and the bouquet of flowers I made along the way fall to the ground and quickly ran to help him. I put my fingers on his neck checking if he had a pulse, when I could feel it in my fingers I sighed with relief.
I look around to see if someone could help me to attend to him, but not seeing anyone I start to check the injured man.
He has several injuries on his back and chest and some bruises that need immediate medical attention. Since there is no one around, I decided to take him to my house and treat his injuries there.
The way home was not ideal, because I literally had to drag him to my house, but not before checking that he did not hurt himself more than he already was.
When I finally got home, with some problems I took him up to my bed, where I was able to bandage him and disinfect his wounds more comfortably.
By bandaging his wounds I see his features more accurately. He has jet black hair, which is unruly and messy from the fall, and above all what stands out the most is his skin that is blue in color, like the night sky, since no one (that I know of) in the town has skin that color, so he's probably not from around here.
But then I realize that it may be a member of the Tribe of Darkness. I remember all those horrible stories about them when I was younger, how dangerous they are, and how they are mystical beings who separated from the ancients a long time ago, their magic and history is a mystery for us humans ..
I shudder just thinking about it, but when I take a closer look at that young man he doesn't seem dangerous or a threat to society, rather he looks small, fragile and even defenseless in that position.
When I see it I remember the question I've been asking myself all day...
And I think I'll soon find the answer...
And just when his eyes began to open, any doubt that I had formulated in my mind disappeared...
