Raffle: Rare Chthonic Devotional Beads (CLOSED)

This raffle is for a handmade set of unique Devotional Beads made with rare chthonic materials.

It was constructed using beads carved from 19th century tombstone marble, jet beads from a 1920's mourning necklace, counter-beads made from human corpse teeth, a cave-found hagstone focal pendant, and a Victorian coffin nail end-piece. The resultant implement was then consecrated within the bounds of a Graveyard.

While the retail price for this item is $275, I am taking the risk of setting up this raffle, in hopes that it might aid me in raising enough money to help us afford palliative care for our terminally ill dogs—particularly when it comes to funding an operation needed by the sicker of the two.

Tickets are $5 a piece, and each assigned a number. To purchase a ticket, simply use the link below and follow the provided instructions. You will be asked to make an account and fill in your payment details, which will allow the raffle to email you your entry information, as well as automatically notifying the winner when the time comes. Participants are more than welcome to deactivate their accounts following the raffle. A random number generator will be used after one week's time in order to determine which ticket number is the winner.

Fundraising for Jackets for Shelter Animals!

I'm fundraising to supply pet jackets to shelter animals in need in the Roanoke VA area this winter. All money received will go toward materials to make jackets for shelter animals (primarily dogs). If you have fabric, old/worn clothes, or other material that you think could be used as material for the jackets that would be equally appreciated! If so, please send me a direct message.

The example jacket pictured is an extra small, worn one that I made from old shirts and scrap materials. This is not an exact example of the jackets that I will be making for the shelter animals. Also, the scrap fabric I used was not entirely ideal and caused some unevenness around the edges. This jacket was made for 1 of 2 puppies we took in that were found abandoned in a Walmart parking lot and were too malnourished to handle the cold, which is one of many scenarios where a shelter animal may need one of these jackets during the cold weather. GoFundMe is the only location where I will be taking funds. The only social media accounts specifically for this project/brand are currently @happydaypetapparel on Instagram, Tumblr, and YouTube.

Hi! I am beyond uncomfortable asking for money from other people, but my partner and I really need help to save our chicken, Barbara.

Barb needs surgery to fix a shattered tibiotarsus (the bone between her femur and her lower leg). After three attempts at splinting her leg, the vet told me on Friday that surgery is really her only option other than humane euthanasia, and I really don't want to do that because she is perfectly happy and healthy aside from her broken leg. It just doesn't feel fair to not at least try to raise the funds we need for this.

I know that to some people, Barbara would be "just a chicken," but that's not the case to my partner and me. Our animals at the Funny Farm—that's what we named our home—are everything to us. If Barbara were a cat or dog, we would pursue every option possible to help her have the best quality of life; her being a chicken is no different.

The shelter I got my bunny from is having a fundraiser!

The way it works is people enter their pets to be chosen to be used in the yearly calendar they make and people give a donation in order to vote on the pets. I entered my rabbit since I got him from this shelter and wanted to show support for it. All funds raised by voting on him will be going straight to the shelter and supporting more animals like him. I'm very grateful to this shelter for bringing me my wonderful boy and would love if he could help raise some funds for them.

Help Rune, The Stray, See an Official Vet

Hello, my name is Cherisha. This little guy came to our house a few months ago at night and has been asking for food, pets and love ever since. After a while we noticed he has been struggling with wounds, fleas, worms, you name it and my sister and I have been treating him every night when he comes by.

We want to get him vaccinated, make sure he is neutered, and receive a wellness exam to run tests for any illnesses he might have from being outside while being wounded. We would take him to a low-cost program clinic in our area, but we feel like he needs to see an official vet that can treat him for anything else a program wouldn't be able to offer. Vet appointments can range from $500 to $600 depending on the results of the health exam. We want to transition him indoors as well, which also leads to more expenses in helping them with their anxiety and providing his resources, due to already having two cats in the house.

Helping out Rune, also helps out the neighborhood because he does enjoy spending time with other cats, we just need him to be treated so all the cats and other animals in the neighborhood are fully safe to be around each other.

Hi hello! One of my best friends has just started a GoFundMe for a cat he’s recently rescued which you can donate to here , sharing this post/ link would also be greatly appreciated!!! This is a message from my friend:

Hi everyone, so Frigga’s not doing too well. I adopted her from an animal shelter on May 4th and quickly realized she wasn’t eating or having bowel movements. I took her to the vet, who diagnosed her with obstipation. The vet believes this could be a chronic condition that she could need to be continuously treated for. He also said this medical condition is likely the reason she was surrendered to the shelter in the first place.

She is an absolute sweetheart and after having to put down a beloved cat a couple of weeks ago, it’s been so hard adopting a cat who immediately has this serious medical problem.

As explained by my vet, the options were to have her euthanized, or for her to undergo an expensive treatment (potentially thousands of dollars) to have the blockage removed from her colon.

I can’t express how strongly I want to help her and not have to have another cat euthanized so soon. I love her and I’m devastated. After having spent $1300 already on my cat who just passed with colon cancer 2 weeks ago, I do not have the funds to pay for Frigga’s veterinary costs.

Not to talk about the watcher thing again as I’ve already kind of said my piece, but one of the most batshit insane parts of this whole unbelievable situation is that for some reason they decided that for some fucking reason the BEST time to announce this highly controversial decision was literally DAYS before they would be going on an international tour and having to face irate fans IN PERSON. Guys. What the hell. At least have the sensibility to announce a move that you HAD to have known would make people upset AFTER one of the few times you actually interact in person with your fanbase.

So, it looks like my dog who was most recently diagnosed with cancer is in need of an operation. It's not a particularly major surgery, and it won't necessarily do much to increase the time he has left, but it will greatly reduce his pain as he winds down these last chapters of his life. Essentially, because he has bone tumor growing in his sinuses, a fairly major blockage of infectious gunk has built up there, which is putting pressure on his eyeball and preventing him from beathing easily. The procedure would only entail doing a scope and flush to help drain his sinuses and offer him some much-deserved relief, but it will still cost over $2,000. The positive side (so to speak,) is that he should only need the procedure once because he won't live long enough for it to grow back down the line. The negative side is that we have already been dipping into our life savings to pay for medical visits and medications, and an operation of this sort would be overwhelming financially.

While thinking of ways I might be able to help bring in more money, the idea of a raffle occured to me. Specifically, I am considering putting the rare Chthonic Garland I'm currently selling for $275 up for raffle. I was thinking that, since this piece is highly unique and fairly expensive, people could enter the raffle for $5 a person (assigning a number to each person as they sign up) and then I could use a random number generator to choose the winner. Whoever won would end up with a $275 set of devotional beads made with Victorian Tombstone Marble, 1920s Mourning Jet beads, Human Corpse Teeth, Victorian Coffin Nail, and Cave Hagstone, for only $5.

Of course, this would only be of use if enough people think they would actually consider entering the raffle. After all, if only 20 people entered, I would be selling this $275 piece for $100, which wouldn't help me fund this surgery, and would actually lose me money. As such, I figured I would make another poll to help me gauge the viability of this idea.

Update

Hello! It's April which means the weather is warming up where I live. Unfortunately, we have not received any donations so far which wasn't necessarily unexpected. I recognize that it was a bit ambitious to start this so late into winter So, now the GoFundMe will be to supply shelter animals with jackets for late this year and early 2025 to give plenty of time to raise funds, get supplies, and make the jackets. I will be updating the GoFundMe and other socials soon to reflect this as well. I have been very busy lately but will try to be more active on here and other socials soon! My phone broke last month so that makes it a bit harder to stay active but I will do my best. Thank you to all who have shared so far and to anyone who does in the future, it is deeply appreciated.
