I hope that in the Atreus Spin-off game, they keep Angrboda's obliviousness to Atreus' crush on her and dial it up to the highest number it could possibly go.

because 1) It's always a treat having the girl in the relationship be the most oblivious to common romantic advances. More often than not, it's the guys who are oblivious to romance. So it'd be a nice change in pace to have a girl be not-so intuned with romance

2) It'd be funny as hell that this one girl who's mature for her age and has prophetic foresight to certain actions just be so dense when it comes to romance. We saw it a few times (i.e. Atreus giving Angrboda a flower and when Atreus quickly corrects himself when he said something vaguely romantic) but I want it to go farther than that.

Have Atreus try to plan a date for Angrboda but Angrboda just simply thinks that it's a family dinner that Atreus was kind enough to invite her to.

Have Atreus make her jewelry or a keepsake that Angrboda misinterprets as a friendship bracelet.

Have someone talk to Angrboda about her and Atreus' relationship and Angrboda simply going "Oh, we're just friends." with her whole chest and then pan over to Atreus just completely dying inside.

Ur in luck anon cuz i just thought abt another headcanon 😌 i could actually see in the next game that they would meet eachother in their dreams. like how atreus was transported by angrboda just by thinking abt ironwood and holding one of the marbles, he can meet her just by thinking abt her when asleep (with or without her marble) 🥺🥺🥺 maybe at times he cant physically teleport there so instead he meets her in his dreams instead of real life 💕 if he had a nightmare starting, she’d help that go away as well (unless its a prediction of the future? 🤔) this also goes hand in hand with that theory of angrboda possibly becoming a guardian of dreams that i cannot stop thinking abt

Don’t think about the fact that when Angrboda and Atreus eventually have their wedding, it’s going to be Kratos who walks Angrboda down the isle in place of her father

No no no you cannot do this to me you CANNOT

I’ve been deliberately not thinking about an Atreboda wedding because I just won’t stop. So what happens next is entirely your fault.

Before we talk about the wedding, let’s talk about Kratos and Freya basically just adopting Angrboda because it is EVERYTHING to me

Kratos had a daughter once, he is so glad to have one again. He loves spending time with her, and she is not at all afraid or intimidated by him. Which… honestly kind of surprises Atreus at first. He’s used to new people who aren’t gods being kind of taken aback by Kratos but Angrboda is totally unphased. Kratos is NOT the biggest person she’s ever seen after all

And FREYA god. Freya LOVES her. They both teach each other more about magic, since Vanir and Giant magic are so closely related, they each take to it very naturally. I like to think that Freya’s shapeshifting is a result of Vanir magic, not any godly abilities, so that’s how Angrboda learns to shapeshift. Angrboda also teaches Freya to paint

I know I’ve brought up a lot that Freya delivers each of Atreus and Angrboda’s children but it is so important to me because the three of them having a bond that strong is just EVERYTHING. Freya is obviously anyone’s first choice of midwife but here, she’s delivering her own grandchildren, even if no one says that out loud everyone knows that’s what is happening. So they trust her more than anyone for it

And Mimir is just. The drunk uncle. Angrboda loves his stories, including (and perhaps especially) the MANY embarrassing stories about Atreus. I like to imagine that maybe one day, since Giants are so big on stories themselves, Angrboda might scribe for him. He tells a story and she writes it down, then later puts it in a book with her and Atreus’ drawings. They read them to their children when Mimir isn’t there

NOW let’s talk about the wedding

The wedding itself is in Ironwood, where I think Atreus and Angrboda will eventually live permanently. It’s in this beautiful grove. Freya takes the lead on a lot of the prep. She “sculpts” the grove a bit. Making the tree branches tangle in just right the way so the light shines through in perfect beams, and grows flowers to line the isle. She also made Angrboda’s dress, or at least helped her alter it if Angrboda chose to wear her mother’s instead

Fenrir and the Iron Wolves are there obviously. Fenrir is laying behind the isle almost wrapped entirely around the ceremony area, while the iron wolves sit around the guests. And there are LOTS of guests. With Odin gone, I think Atreus and Angrboda would make the careful decision to stop hiding the Ironwood, at least so throughly. So it’s not only a wedding, it’s also the mark of a new age in Ironwood

Freyr’s army is there, and Durlin, who came as Lúnda’s “plus one”. Lúnda also brought Helka. She made her a little flower crown for the occasion.

Sigrun and a few of the shield maidens come. Thrúd is there with Sif, she’s a shield maiden too now. Ttolerating her “formal clothes” with her new wings as best she can

Skjöldr is just. SO excited about everything that’s going down. He’s surrounded by so many gods. He really wants to steal a plate

Ratatoskr even comes. Which no one really expected but hey, you can’t refuse him now. He also brings a few “plus ones” (Anxiety went into a panic that no one would want him there, Bitter was certain it would be a disaster and wanted a front row seat, Arrogance wanted to see if it truly was worth all the fuss (it wasn’t) and Perfection wanted to help with the décor. Ratatoskr promised that they would all behave during the ceremony)

Angrboda knows Gryla is there, somewhere, even if she can’t see her with the others, she can feel her in the trees.

I don’t know exactly how Norse weddings work, but, Mimir plays the role of officiant or whatever the Norse equivalent is. They’ve got him on a very dressed up table and he very proudly declares himself the “head” of the aisle. Kratos did his beard up nice. Mimir has some trouble getting through his speech because he keeps getting “misty”

And finally, Kratos is so happy to walk Angrboda down the aisle. He is not “handing her off” to him as some see it, but rather, leading her to him. It’s her final blessing. The last assurance that this is right

After the wedding, as Atreus and Angrboda go to their wedding night, they find a gift waiting for them. Unmarked, with no one in sight. They open it carefully, and find two rings, made with unmistakably dwarven craftsmanship

Yes I obviously have a complete mental picture of what all this would look like in a game. You’d wander around before the wedding as Atreus and talk to some of the guests, and OBVIOUSLY I have thought of the dialogue each of them would have. Then there’d be a wedding cut scene, and one final opportunity to walk around as Atreus and talk to everyone before meeting Angrboda and going off to the wedding night. It would all happen at the end of a game as sort of epilogue

Santa Monica I know the gamer bros don’t wanna play through this wedding but I do. You should put it in the game for ME
