About antis calling Cooper too old or ghoulish to be with Lucy; that's part of why I ship it the first place (besides the actors having good chemistry with each other). Lucy has been raised all her life in an underground eugenicist bunker where she is expected to marry someone young and normal-looking to have normal-looking babies with, examples being guys like Monty and Maximus.

But I think it's more interesting if Lucy starts to feel attraction for someone who isn't the standards expected of her growing up: Cooper's older, he's a radioactive ghoul, he's a cannibal; basically someone neither Lucy or the general audience would expect of her. But if people want a parent-child relationship so badly, why not have Lucy be the stepmom of Janey, an actual child? Besides, fathers don't chop off their kids fingers and wear 'em like a ring, just sayin'.
