Loved this clip so much.... ❤
It's NOT about the outcome... but about the PROCESS of making movies.
So often some actors (and even some fans 👀) focus so heavily on the outcome. Forget about all of the other external stuff like box office numbers or critic reviews. Just focus on the process and the work. 👍🏾
You tell 'em Aus! 😁👏🏾
Love what he said here. He's just so happy to even be in the same room with some of these greats lol. Love that he mentioned Viola Davis also 🥰

Night of Dark Shadows (1971) Review & Spoilers ⚰️ 👻 🎨  | Radical Retro Rewind
Growing up with the original gothic Soap Dark Shadows on reruns in the 90's, I do a small history of the show and dive into a summary and review of the 1971 second film version called Night of Dark Shadows.
A young artist, Quentin Collins (David Selby) inherits a mansion that has been in his family for generations, and he moves into the house with his wife, Tracy (Kate Jackson). Soon Quentin becomes tormented by strange, dark dreams that seem to echo his clan's macabre history. Eventually, the ghost of Angelique (Lara Parker), one of Quentin's ancestors, appears, and he starts to take on bizarre and violent behavior. Can the curse of the Collins estate be broken?

Dark Skin Directory
I did one of these for my sideblog BlackFemmeCharacterDependency (BFCD) and... While it’ll take longer on this end to do because there are more prominent figures here than on that one, I thought it would be good to also have one for my main...
EDIT: Okay, so the one that I did for BFCD does not work, so I am posting this one to see if it works, and if not, they’ll both be WIPS until I have the time to repair them

With the infamous words, "Somehow, Palpatine returned," the end of the third Star Wars trilogy premiered on December 20, 2019. There had been plans to focus on Han in the first movie, Luke in the second, and Leia the third, but the death of Carrie Fisher changed those plans. Returning from the new trilogy were Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), Daisy Ridley (Rey), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Domhall Gleeson (General Hux), Lupita Nyong'o (Maz Kanata), Kelly Marie Tran (Rose Tico), Greg Grunberg (Snap Wexley), Amanda Lawrence (Comander D'Acy), Billy Lourd (Lt Connix) and BB8. There were a lot of voice cameos by Shirley Henderson (Babu Frik), J.J. Abrams (D-0) , James Earl Jones (Darth Vader), Matthew Wood (Cai Threnalli), Andy Serkis (Snoke), Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker), Olivia D'Ablo (Luminara Unduli), Ashley Eckstein (Ahsoka Tano), Jennifer Hale (Aayla Secura), Samuel L Jackson (Mace Windu), Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi), Alec Guinness (Obi-Wan Kenobi), Frank Oz (Yoda), Angelique Perrin (Adi Gallia), Freddie Prinze Jr (Kanan Jarrus), and Liam Neeson (Qui-Gon Jinn). There were also cameos by Richard E Grant, Keri Russel, Dominic Monaghan, Jeff Garlin, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ed Sheeran, Kevin Smith, and Karl Urban. The action took place at Ajon Kloss, Pasaana, Kijimi, Kef Bir, and Exegol. ("Star Wars Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker" Star Wars Movie Event).

The movie “American Fiction” is not based on a true story.  But it is rooted in reality.   At its core, the movie— starring Jeffrey Wright as a frustrated novelist—is about the use of racial stereotypes to sell books.   And, Variety’s Angelique Jackson tells Kennedy Rue, it’s also prevalent in movies and TV shows in real life—from the “Angry Black Woman” trope showcased in reality shows like “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” to “The Thug” caricature seen in TV series like “BMF”.   The reason?   “We still see so many of these stereotypes reflected in TV and film is quite simply because there are not enough black people in the room making these decisions,” Jackson says, noting that just six percent of writers, producers and directors in Hollywood are black. “That can sometimes lead us to these pieces of art that don’t accurately represent the black experience.”   “That doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t tell stories about slave narratives,” Jackson continues. “But they have to be told with a very specific sense of understanding and that sometimes is lacking when we see these projects continue into the pipeline.   Based on 2001 book “Erasure” by Percival Everett, “American Fiction”  was written and directed by Cord Jefferson who is black. The script earned him an Oscar Sunday for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Jonathan Majors Pitches a Rom-Com With Issa Rae: ‘I Want to Run Through Central Park Trying to Beat Her to the Airport’ (variety.com) By Angelique Jackson Feb 27, 2023 4:38pm PT
When Jonathan Majors was recently profiled by The Cut, he revealed that after playing physical roles in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” plus the upcoming “Creed III” and “Magazine Dreams,” he wants to star in a romantic comedy. [...] After appearing as a presenter at the NAACP Image Awards on Saturday night alongside “Insecure” creator and star Issa Rae, Majors’ fans are clamoring to make his rom-com dreams come true sooner rather than later.
Tumblr media
As the two bantered and displayed their easy chemistry on stage, viewers — including this reporter — took notice. “Issa, I love nights like this. We all get to get together, it’s one of those rare times. It’s beautiful. Issa and I —” Majors said, beginning to introduce the nominees. But then Rae interrupted, asking Majors “What’s your sign?,” which led them into a funny bit about astrology (he’s a virgo, she’s a capricorn) and why it makes Majors such a good bad guy that Rae was rooting for him in “Quantumania.”
Even the NAACP Image Awards social media team got in on the joke: “Somebody write the script,” the organization captioned a photo of the duo....
[...]  (For the record, Majors also posed backstage with Janelle Monáe, which kicked off another round of “make it happen” comments — and let’s be honest, either pairing would be perfect, so hop to it, Hollywood.)

Actress and Author, Lara Parker, of Dark Shadows, Passes at 84
Lara Parker, who found the role of a lifetime at just 28 years old when she was cast by Dark Shadows producer Dan Curtis as the beautiful, vengeful and altogether evil witch Angelique Bouchard Collins, died October 12 in her sleep in Los Angeles following a battle with cancer. She was 84.
Her death was announced by producer Jim Pierson of Dan Curtis Productions, on behalf of Parker’s family.
“I’m heartbroken, as all of us are who knew and loved her,” said her Dark Shadows co-star and longtime friend Kathryn Leigh Scott in a statement. “She graced our lives with her beauty, talent and friendship, and we are all richer for having had her in our lives.”
Tumblr media
Parker was born Mary Lamar Rickey on Oct. 27, 1938, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Her father, Albert, was an attorney, and her mother, Ann, was active in civic groups.
She graduated from Central High School in Memphis and attended Vassar — she roomed with Jane Fonda there — and Rhodes College in Memphis, where at 19 she served as Wink Martindale’s assistant on his WHBQ-TV show, Dance Party. She then earned a master’s degree from the University of Iowa.
Parker, who also authored four popular Dark Shadows-related novels from 1998-2016, arrived on the supernatural soap opera in 1967, not long after Canadian actor Jonathan Frid had been cast as vampire Barnabas Collins. Frid’s storyline changed the show from a moody, Gothic Jane Eyre-type serial into a flat-out horror show.
Tumblr media
During breaks in production, Parker acted on Broadway in September 1968 in Woman Is My Idea, which lasted just five performances, and in the early Brian De Palma film Hi, Mom! (1970), starring Robert De Niro.
And toward the end of the daytime serial, she and fellow castmembers including John Karlen, Kate Jackson, David Selby and Grayson Hall appeared in the poorly received MGM film Night of Dark Shadows (1971).
In 1972, Parker relocated to Los Angeles and went on to appear on episodes of such shows as Medical Center, Kojak, The Rockford Files, Police Woman, Kolchak: The Night Stalker (as a witch) and The Incredible Hulk, where she played David Banner’s first wife in a flashback sequence in the pilot.
Tumblr media
In her later years, Parker turned to writing and teaching — her novels include Angelique’s Descent (1998), The Salem Branch (2006), Wolf Moon Rising (2013) and Heiress of Collinwood (2016). The books proved popular among Dark Shadows‘ still-devoted, conventions-attending fan base, as well as devotees of romance and horror genre novels.
Tumblr media
Parker kept in touch with her co-stars including Scott, Selby, Roger Davis, the late John Karlen and others throughout her life, particularly once the conventions became annual events in the late 1980s through the 1990s and up to the 50th anniversary celebration in 2017.
Many of the original cast, including Parker, recorded a series of Dark Shadows audio dramas in the 2000s released by Big Finish Productions. They also reunited for a “Smartphone Theatre” Zoom-style, Covid-era performance of A Christmas Carol in 2021 and, on Halloween night 2020, a YouTube/Zoom Dark Shadows cast reunion.
Parker is survived by second husband Jim Hawkins, daughter Caitlin, sons Rick and Andy, and their wives Miranda and Celia; and grandson Wesley.

JACKSON SAYS BACK BACK WE GOT THIS: Jackson city leaders pass resolution opposing House Bill 1020, calling the bill racist and disrespectful
JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - House Bill 1020 continues to receive a lot of backlash. This time from the Jackson City Council.
During a special called meeting on Friday, the council passed a resolution saying they oppose the bill.
The council also voted to give a copy of the resolution to every lawmaker in the House and Senate.
Under this bill, the Mississippi Supreme Court would appoint judges to hear civil and criminal cases in the Capital Complex Improvement District.
The legislation would also expand CCID to County Line Road.
The bill states the Attorney General’s Office would be responsible for appointing prosecutors to take on these cases, and public defenders would work underneath the Mississippi Public Defenders.
City leaders question the timing of this proposed takeover, calling the bill disrespectful and racist.
“I am in favor of trying to keep Jackson safe, but not this way,” said Councilwoman Angelique Lee, who represents Ward 2. “I’m also opposed to how the boundaries are drawn. It appears racist on its face, and it is not equally representative of the citizenry Jackson, Mississippi, which is majority black.”
“People of Hinds County, city of Jackson have their rights, and their rights can’t be taken away, won’t be taken away without a fight,” said Councilman Vernon Hartley, who represents Ward 2.
“At the end of the day, we have to deal with the culture that is at that State Capitol, which is, the city of Jackson has their own Representatives, their own elected officials, let them deal figure this stuff out, and if they can’t do it we’ll come in and take over,” said Councilman Aaron Banks, who represents to Ward 5. “At the end of the day, all of this is about them wanting to take over and put their own district within the Capital City of Jackson, and this is our home. Instead of embracing us, they just want to takeover, and we oppose that.”
City leaders held a press conference immediately following the council meeting, showing a unified front that they all disagree with this bill.
“A lot of these bills that affect our city are being introduced without any input from the people who actually live here and the elected representatives that serve with the other members of the legislature,” said Senator Davis Blount, who represents District 29, which includes Hinds County. Lawmakers have until February ninth to vote on this bill. If it doesn’t come up for a vote by that time, the bill will die.
