sometimes I get NFTbros trying to get me to sell my work as crypto bullshit and NOTHING shuts them up faster than me saying
‘oh actually literally all my AR art is published under public domain! no single person can own it because technically it’s owned by everyone :))’

Goddamn it Kyra I wasn't even interested in the Lego Lokis before, but now that you've so rudely posted pics of the options I'm probably going to have to buy some. So, couple questions: I'm not familiar with the website you linked to (it doesn't help that I'm on my phone lol) - do you get them from that site or just Aliexpress? I've kind of poked around there but I don't think I've ever actually bought anything - do you have links to those ones you bought or any tips for finding them on the site? (or like. using the site in general without getting scammed or something? Idk much about it other than stuff being low priced lol).
😇😇😇
putting the rest behind a cut because oops this got long
OKAY SO the cool thing about knockoff Lego figures is that a) there are a ton of them, so you can probably find multiple versions of most characters, and b) they're super cheap, so if you do end up getting ripped off, you're probably only out a few bucks. plus if you don't get ripped off, you feel like a genius, because authentic Lego minifigs tend to cost way more than they should (and if you get them online, you probably don't have a good way to know that they're authentic) and here you are getting something just as good or better for way less.
the site I was getting pictures from is HeroBloks, which I only just discovered myself a couple days ago; it looks like mostly it's good for tracking your collection (and learning more about bootleg Lego minifigs in general, maybe--I didn't really realize until now how many different companies there are making Lego-like minifigs) rather than buying, with individual pages including sale links that are only mildly useful. like, the extremely sad TVA Loki has an AliExpress search link that apparently just searches for "blocks," which is the least helpful search term imaginable; the eBay link uses "xinh+xh1745+loki (tva)" as the search term and that's definitely better, although it doesn't actually turn up anything. maybe that one's too new to be widely available yet, I don't know. (I hope that's the case. I need him and his sad little face to come and live with me.)
anyway--eBay is a possible source. searching for "loki minifigure" gets me results for several of the new ones I’ve been seeing, and they all seem to be shipping from Japan or South Korea. the problem is they're all selling for $4.99 plus $7.49 shipping each, which is...more than I want to spend on something I know is a knockoff of some kind when I don't know anything about the quality control and I'm not guaranteed to get what's in the picture. (here's another listing asking $40 total for all 8 figures I bought yesterday, which is actually a better price, and I'd probably end up doing that if I hadn't found them elsewhere, but that's because I have a problem.)
this is why I like AliExpress, because the risks are slightly higher but the prices tend to be much lower, even with shipping prices having gone up a bit over the last couple years. as I understand it, the site is basically just a huge marketplace for tons of different sellers in Asia, like if eBay only allowed fixed-price listings and it was based in China. the vast majority of the site reads like it went through Google Translate, because it probably did. you can find...basically anything there. I have no idea if any of it's authentic. (I also don't know anything about how or where any of the knockoff stuff is made, so...there is that.) I would not, for instance, drop $300 on a Hot Toys Loki from here, even though I absolutely would have the option to do so, for the obvious reason that I'm not going to risk that much money on an item that might be a cheap knockoff or could arrive broken. there is, in general, a solid possibility of breakable things arriving broken, because decent packaging costs more. cheap shipping will be slow (by which I mean like...up to 90 days), and most purchases either won't have tracking at all or won't have accurate tracking, so this is absolutely not a place to buy anything you want to get quickly. you also don't want to just buy something and forget about it, because there are (variable but generous) time limits past which you can't get a refund if you don't receive your items. the site's UI is...mostly functional. you often have to get a little creative with your search terms to find what you want (and sometimes you won’t find what you want through searching, but through looking at related items on the pages of things that aren’t quite what you want or are what you want but aren’t a good price). you will, absolutely, come across a lot of stolen art on things like pins, t-shirts, stickers, and phone cases, which you might not realize until you see something you recognize from a fanartist you like, and obviously that sucks. listing photos are nearly always stock photos, so in many cases they won't tell you anything about the item you're actually getting. you know the Wish app, and all the crazy things people get from that? you can find all the same stuff on AliExpress, at similar levels of quality.
however, if you approach it keeping all that in mind, it can be a great resource. I can't make any guarantees about the site's safety, but to the best of my knowledge it's secure and I've never had any weird charges show up after buying something. it's also my understanding that Alibaba, the parent company, is more or less the Chinese equivalent of Amazon in terms of the amount of business it does, which would probably be pretty tough if customer data were routinely being exposed to thieves, you know? I've also successfully gotten several refunds for items that never arrived, which actually hasn't happened all that often--but knowing that it can happen and that the return period expires, I’ll check back on the site if it seems like it’s been an unusually long time and I’ll make a reminder for myself of the deadline so I can contact the seller in time if necessary.
so the way I shop there is, I don't buy expensive or fragile things in general, because I recognize there's a nonzero chance I'll get a cheap knockoff, or something that was broken in transit because the seller tossed it in a box with no padding and called it good, or sometimes nothing at all. but like eBay, the sellers and items have ratings and reviews from customers, so that helps avoid some risk. items with lots of reviews tend to include at least a few customer photos, which are great for getting a better idea of what the thing you're buying actually looks like. I took a bit of a risk last year buying a Hot Toys (or the equivalent, I actually have no idea) Steve Rogers head for about $20, for instance, but I wasn't super worried about it because the customer photos looked good, the seller I used had a lot of sales and a lot of good ratings, and it was still a lot less than I would've paid for an authentic Hot Toys Steve Rogers head--and in fact he got here just fine and he looked fantastic. I also spent about $20 for a knockoff Iron Studios Loki statue, because in that case it was like...yep I’d love the real thing, nope I’m not willing to spend hundreds of dollars on it, yep I am willing to spend $20 on something that doesn’t look quite as nice but still looks good enough for me in the customer photos. well, and I’ve also bought knockoffs I knew would look bad, because they were cheap and I want all the Lokis and I have enough of an addiction that all the Lokis does in fact sometimes mean “even ones that look really bad” to me.
anyway, uh, Lego-type minifigs. this is an especially good area to go knockoff, because--okay, apparently I can’t link to a page of HeroBloks search results for some reason, but it’s the best resource I’ve found for this type of thing that isn’t just authentic Lego figures. but if you go there and do a search for “loki” you’ll get a bunch of results and you’ll see that they come from like...9 or 10 different brands. Lego specifically has only four Loki options: Avengers Loki in black, Avengers Loki in gray for some reason (which, frankly, looks like a cheap knockoff but isn’t), movie-inaccurate Ragnarok Loki with the blue outfit and the full helmet, an ugly Classic Loki, and a mostly green Loki from I guess the first Thor movie (and then I think they’re going to release a TVA Loki, a Sylvie, and a Throg). all those other results--all those different outfits from every single Loki appearance, and different variations on those outfits, nearly all of them more screen-accurate and/or detailed than the Lego versions--are technically knockoffs. they’re better and you can buy them for way less. (I mean, a lot of them are new so I don’t have them yet, but I do have frost giant Loki, better Ragnarok Loki, better Avengers Loki, opera Loki who actually has another face that’s half-Jotun, and at least one chrome-helmet option, and they all look basically like the photos. so I think I can reasonably expect most of the new ones to look basically like their photos too.)
for reasons that I don’t understand aside from a vague guess that it’s copyright-related, AliExpress pretty much no longer shows full pictures of Lego-type figures in their listings--instead, you have to pick just based on the heads. this is a problem when lots of heads look very similar to each other! luckily, the listings also typically have the actual serial numbers for each figure, as do the HeroBloks listings, so you can cross-reference them to see what you’re really getting. for instance let’s take this listing because it’s cheap and it offers most of the Loki figures that are currently available. say you’re interested in one of the horn-less Lokis. there are...let’s see, five of them, but you have no idea what they actually look like aside from slightly different facial expressions and maybe weapons. however, the first one listed says XH1359 for its color...and what do you know, 1359 is the serial number for this Loki by a company called Xinh. okay cool, how about the last one? the “color” is listed as WM2182--and yes, HeroBloks has a listing for a Ragnarok Loki from World Minifigures with the serial number 2182. (I just ordered all 8 of the new World Minifigures ones yesterday, so again, I can’t personally guarantee yet that they’ll look as good in person as in the pictures--but I think they probably will, and more importantly they cost a whole dollar each.) and if HeroBloks doesn’t have a particular figure, you can probably find something useful just by googling the serial number.
I specifically bought from this listing yesterday because they currently have a bit of a sale going and a deal for free shipping if you buy 10 figures, and I wanted a couple duplicates, so it worked out to be the cheapest option. the same store has another listing for a bunch more Marvel characters, including a couple more Lokis I already had, so it should be pretty easy to get the free shipping so the figures are less than a dollar each and you’re only risking about $10. if you’d rather try one or two and see how it goes, it looks like this listing is probably the cheapest, with figures currently going for a little over a dollar each once you add shipping (although it’s totally possible shipping is more for me because Alaska).
that’s...probably already way more information than you really wanted, but I hope at least some of it makes sense. feel free to ask other specific questions if they come up--I might not be able to give answers exactly, but I can probably tell you what my experience has been, which is better than nothing.

Introduction:
Name: RoboBubby, (Robo for short)
Other blogs: totsfunkygroovynuggets and totsandnuggsreblogs
Purpose of this blog: I love to make glitched wallpapers so here I am, makin em.
Warnings: there will be a lot of eye strain on this blog so I’ll be using the tags (#tw eye strain), (#tw glitch), (tw glicthes)
Asks/requests:
- Yes, I take asks/requests/commissions for wallpapers.
- Does it cost anything?: No. I do it for free because honestly it’s just a treat to make them in the first place and if you offer money I will not take it. It’s just wallpapers, I don’t need like 20 bucks for that.
- you can either request a wallpaper from me by asking publically on this blog or you could privately contact me.
- if you request for a wallpaper from me as an anon through the asks then I will post it publicly on this blog unless you give me your info on how to contact you.
- when requesting a wallpaper, if your looking for a certain type of glitch makes sure to explain it in detail to me. (I have the list of features attached to this post) And if you want you could show me a reference photo of the kind of glitch you want me to recreate.
- Where to request a wallpaper from me?:
- asks on this blog
- dm’ing me on this blog
- emailing me, ([email protected])
- dm’ing me on discord, (RoboBubby#2720)
Content generated:
- I mostly do logos, (mostly fictional logos). They will not be perfect all the time because I’m not a robot with exact accuracy but this mostly means that they will not always be perfectly symmetrical. But most of the time they are or you could barely notice it.
- I will not create fanart for glitched wallpapers.
- I will not create a glitched wallpaper of a person’s own fanart unless they give me explicit permission to do so.
- Fandoms for wallpapers: I will except any fandom as long as the content you are requesting is sfw. This can include fandoms like IZ, FNAF, Fallout, etc. Though it does not mean I follow these fandoms.
- seriously guys, no nsfw. I don’t do that kinda stuff so keep if pg13 in here.
- although I will do gore to some extent.
- I will occasionally do moving glitches but this is very hard and they will be less animated then you might want. I’m not a wizard, I’m using the app procreate to make these.
- REMEMBER: glitches are very hard to control so it’s very easy for the wallpaper to become unsymmetrical or messy but if I can help it I will try my best not to have this happen.
Features under the undercut btw:
Types of glitches/features:
Tumblr media
Bloom:
- shadow and glow: the shadow and the glow can expand and recede to any degree with the expense that their opacity might become lighter.
- neon: this will effect the color of the shape severely but this can be fixed easily by me if you want.
Tumblr media
Chromatic Aberration:
- displace: this one is different than perspective because it does not hold a single point as it’s starting point, it can go anywhere. This feature also has a blurr effect which will only affect the new colors.
- perspective: this one is different than displace because it holds a single point as it’s starting point, it can go as far as the point will let it. This feature also has a fall off effect which will change how close the starting point is to the original shape.
Tumblr media
Noise:
- Black and colored noise: black static/noise is for TVs and colored is not but don’t let this stop you if you want it to be a certain color.
- regular: this will include 1 color and a few desaturated versions of it.
- Multi: this will include 1 color and a multitude of different colors along with it.
- Scale: the scale can be played with quite a lot, it all depends on what look you’d like for it.
Tumblr media
Halftone:
Full color: this one keeps the shape of logos pretty well instead of going too bubbly like the other ones. Though this means it holds back on colors.
Screen print: this one will keep the general shape of logos but it will make them very bubbly. This one does not hold back on colors.
Newspaper: this has the ability to keep the shape of logos but if it gets too big it will start simplifying it into a weird uniform bubbly shape. newspaper automatically changes whatever color to black but this can be fixed if I am dealing with 1 solid color.
Tumblr media
Glitches:
Wave: this glitch can go as far as to enter the screen from another side or make very small lines everywhere so it’s not just condensed into one uniform shape. I’d say this is best for tv glitches.
Artifact: this one can be very small and grainy or it can be very large and blocky. I tend to use this one for backgrounds because it covers a lot of ground.
Signal: this one can also be very small and grainy as well as large and blocky but it tends to go off screen a lot and mess up random parts of the canvas. These errors can be fixes but sometimes not. It’s a bit of a roll of the dice but it works for backgrounds and simple logos.
Diverge: this one splits any color into it’s red, green, and blue colors. Sometimes they can blend me make cyan or pink or yellow or they can be the regular old rbg. This 0me can also be very grainy and then very blocky and I tend to make the opacity very light so it acts as line art in a way.
————————————————————
Other features I use on Procreate:
Liquify: push, twirl, pinch, expand, crystallize, edge
Blurrs: perspective, motion, Gaussian
Color adjustment: Color Balance, curves, gradient map, hue-saturation-brightness

https://it1776.com Free shipping from USA! Buy cheap affordable gamepads, gaming keyboard, headsets, gaming mouses, sound bar, sports headphones, wireless headphones
- Hey, guys, this is Austin.
This is the brand new Series 2 Edition
of the Xbox Elite controller, which has got me thinking.
Kevin, what is the best controller that I can buy right now?
- Well, we got a different couple options to talk about here
so let's round 'em up and see.
(imitates music)
? Kevin Kenson music, Kevin Kenson music, ?
? Kevin Kenson music, do do doo ?
The benchmark that I compare every single controller to
is the current generation Xbox One.
Now, it's seen some updates over the last few years,
like Bluetooth and an audio jack,
you also have the Design Lab.
But this is always what I compare things to.
Kev, why am I wrong?
- I mean, look, the standard Xbox One controller
is a great controller.
When it comes to just the baseline models
that come with systems
this is honestly my my personal favorite as well.
- [Austin] Same, yeah.
- But there's a lot of room for improvement still
and there's a lot of things that have kind of become more
common and popular amongst pro controllers
that aren't necessarily feasible
in an affordable regular baseline like this one.
- Such as.
- Such as Microsoft's own Xbox One Elite 2.
Honestly, we could talk all day
about the special features and things.
I think the main kind of take away points
aside from just general build quality,
multiple sticks you can use, multiple D-pads, back paddles.
Which are pretty common across a lot of these ones.
The big stuff for this too though
is the unique customization features
that are in the Xbox Accessories app
where you can do things like button remapping,
adding a Shift button options, stick acceleration,
lots of crazy in depth stuff.
- And of course, this works across the Xbox
as well as the PC and those settings that you sync
will actually work across consoles as well.
Or across, did I just call PC a console?
I mean, across systems, across platforms.
- Identity crisis.
So aside from the Elite 2
the other one we have here is the Prestige.
Now, this is the newest one from Scuf
I'd mentioned earlier
and the main thing with this
is that this is a modified Xbox One controller
so it still has the same core base in it,
which is really cool actually
'cause that means you can use it with the Xbox One,
the upcoming Project Scarlet, PC, whatever,
if it works with Xbox controller it'll work with this.
One of the cool things about it
is how you can further modify it.
If you wanna change the sticks or anything
you actually just pop off the faceplate.
- That's cool.
- And this is how you can swap out the sticks.
You can also switch out the D-pad,
although I think you can just do that
from having this faceplate on as well.
So this one has four adjustable paddles,
you can take them off if you don't wanna use them.
- [Austin] The problem though
is that this is expensive, right?
this is actually around the same price
as the Elite controller?
- So, it's 20 bucks cheaper
if you just buy the base model unmodified.
But one of the big things about Scuf
is how you wanna customize it to make it your own design
so depending on if you want certain colors,
special designs, different sticks,
depending on all the things you modify and do to it
it can end up adding up to being quite more money.
- So I get that you're really excited
about your controllers and everything
but really everyone knows the superior way
to play any kind of game is using a mouse and keyboard.
Which I so helpfully have provided
with the Razer Turret.
- [Ken] You said this was controller video.
- This works with an Xbox, I can control my games with it,
I think that counts.
- [Ken] What is wrong with you?
- Can I bring in a racing wheel next then?
- There's a cursor inside the game.
It's almost as if I'm playing on a PC called the Xbox.
- Now to be clear, this is because the Xbox
actually does support keyboard and mouse,
it doesn't have to necessarily be the Turret
but the Turret is an awesome controller design
specifically for the Xbox in mind.
- 'Cause essentially you're getting
like a proper Razer keyboard
that's built into this little platform.
And then you have the mouse which is magnetic
so you can actually kind of.
You have a little like mousepad.
So if I was sitting.
- Come on, do it, yep.
Yeah, squat work out!
- This is the way all true gamers play.
So the Turret is certainly not cheap.
At $250 this is probably the most expensive thing here.
So the thing with the Turret is that
you really shouldn't use this
as purely like an Xbox controller.
I mean, you can use it like that, certainly.
But it sorta makes more sense
if you have like a PC and an Xbox
and you wanna have everything
kind of unified into one setup.
- Or if you just really love playing
just Fortnite all the time
and you wanna keyboard and mouse set up.
- And you don't wanna use a PC.
- And you don't wanna use a PC.
- Yeah, that's really popular.
Now over on the PlayStation side of things
we of course have the DualShock 4.
A perfectly respectable controller, it's good, fine,
but it's not really great, it's really super impressive
which is why I'm really curious,
especially to play with this Raiju.
- So actually, real quick before focusing in the Raiju,
I think something that's interesting about PlayStation
is that on Xbox you saw some similarities
with the two controllers we were trying,
they were both based on the standard Xbox design.
All three of these are very different.
All three pro controllers we're looking at
are very different approaches
of how to make a pro controller.
- This doesn't work.
- Does it not work or did you not log in properly to...
- You would be correct, I didn't log in correctly.
- There you go.
- Kevin Kenson, PlayStation expert.
- So the deal with the Raiju is that
at least out of the different pro controllers
we're looking at today,
it's the least physically customizable.
There's a little bit you can do,
you can swap out that D-pad, it does have some other sticks.
But the really heavy focus is on
just straight up the build quality.
- It's so sturdy, this to me out of all these controllers
is the only one that feels on par
with the Xbox Elite controllers
as far as just like, it's beefy, it feels heavy,
it feels like this is something I can throw across the room
in a fit of rage after I lose in Fortnite
and it'll be just fine.
- The table that it hits won't be, but yes,
the controller will survive.
- Now, you know, I totally get that customization is great
and for some people, especially with like the Scuf stuff
you can go really over the top.
But for me, I'm one of those guys
who wants to walk into Subway
and order the sandwich just as it comes.
When I go into Blaze Pizza I'm like,
I just want a pizza with pepperoni on it.
I get overwhelmed with too much choice and you know what,
this doesn't have too much choice.
I just pick up the controller, I'm like,
look, someone smarter than me designed this.
Sweet, I'm on board.
- Of the controllers we have out here today
I think this the only,
is this the only one that we're talking about?
- [Ken] Yeah.
- This is the only one we're talking about
that is actually not available normally in North America.
You can get it, you just have to import it
which also means you're probably gonna spend
a little more money than the actual MSRP lists.
- How much is it if I wasn't importing it,
like say if I'm in Europe,
how much does this controller cost?
- Well you know, that was something I planned on checking
when we weren't filming earlier and hold on a moment please.
- That's fine, I gotta kill some droids.
- Now the Scuf Vantage, really almost the opposite
of what the Raiju is.
While the Raiju is focused on minimal physical customization
but having lots of just high build quality,
the Vantage is all about modular design.
Kind of like what we saw with the Prestige,
you can take the faceplate off.
- That's cool.
- But on this one you can swap the sticks, the D-pad,
and even take out the rumble motors if you want.
Kinda like we were talking with the Prestige earlier,
with Scuf things are so customizable
there's not really one set price.
There's a starting price.
If you get a wired version of this it starts at 170.
If you get a wired wireless version it's 200.
- I will say that so far this is still my favorite.
- I will admit, personally, that's my top as well,
for the PlayStation at least.
And actually let's go ahead and talk about
this last guy then.
- [Austin] So, you need a screwdriver
to work on this guy I see.
- Yeah, so there's a faceplate that locks in,
it keeps all the modules, as they pop out.
So you can do things like, lets say you like offset sticks,
you can have this set up.
Or if you don't, take that off, swap 'em,
and now you have symmetrical.
But I like offset so I'm gonna put it back.
- [Austin] I'm afraid to ask,
how much does the Astro C40 cost?
- Well the C40 is $200 for the base design
and it does not include all the different swappable parts.
So if you wanna get all the different D-pads
and all the different sticks it's gonna be a little more.
We have fewer controllers to talk about for Switch
than we do for Xbox and PlayStation
so I came up with a solution, I got one more.
- Okay, I mean, you've done a video
on every like Switch controller ever so.
(electronic music)
What is this slime thing?
- That, my friend, you are holding the one, the only,
HORI Slime controller for Switch.
- [Ken] I love that!
- Why? - It's adorable.
- This is not meant for human hands!
- It is not comfortable but it is amazing.
I should note that I guess kinda like the Raiju
we were talking about earlier,
this is a Japanese exclusive so if you want one of these
you are gonna have to pay top dollar to import it.
- How much is this really?
How much did you pay for it?
- I wanna say I paid 80.
- Oh.
After these $200 stupid controllers
$80 for a joke is, well, it's actually wait,
no, that's still a joke.
Can we look at some real controllers now?
- How dare you, how dare you. - Insult me.
So for the Switch when it comes to pro controllers
I think the one that really comes closest
to kind of at least capturing the idea right now
is the SN30 Pro Plus from 8BitDo.
- That actually really surprises me
because it's obviously a Super Nintendo style controller
but it has the grips as well as you have the sticks.
And this also works with a pretty wide variety
of different devices, right?
It's not just a Switch controller.
- Yeah, so 8BitDo controllers are designed to work
with the Switch, with PC, Mac, and Android.
- But you said this is 50 bucks, right?
- I believe so, yeah.
- That's not bad, especially considering, I mean,
I've got like $1,000 worth of controllers
on the table right now.
- Yeah, and in terms of what
kind of makes it a pro controller versus say,
using the official pro controller from Nintendo
is that this does offer some of those
special features that people equate with pro controllers,
like you can do things like actually remapping
what all the buttons are.
So if for whatever reason you really want B
to actually be the right trigger button
you can set that up if you like.
- [Austin] Now, obviously this is not as full featured
as the proper pro controller
since you don't have NFC for Amiibo
and you don't have rumble, or do you?
- [Kevin] No, this does have rumble, that's right.
- [Austin] Oh, that's awesome, okay, cool.
- You do have motion controls though.
- Oh, that's cool, okay.
- So this is the Split Pad Pro from HORI
and it's meant to be an alternative to Joy-Cons.
Now, because it is a third party option
it doesn't actually have all the features
that you might get used to seeing in a Joy-Con.
You don't have rumble, you don't have the ability to use
Amiibo scanning, you do have the motion controls still.
But the big trade off for that
is that you actually have a longer--
- It fits your hands. - Yeah.
It's a longer controller that's actually designed
to fit in your hands.
- I mean, look at the difference, right,
it's not even close.
Now, that doesn't necessarily fit in a bag as well
or anything like that but these,
to me the Joy-Cons are fine for a quick game
or if you wanna do some like Just Dance or whatever
but this is not a super comfortable way,
especially when you're using them
even in like a Joy-Con grip.
It's not that great for long periods of time.
- Well, and especially being used in handheld mode
I gotta say that it's not just a matter of the size,
it's not just that the thing is simply bigger,
it's that it actually does have contoured grips
and is designed to fit in your hands a specific way.
It does have remappable buttons on the backside.
Because these are each individual units
you can only remap buttons that are on the same side.
But still, that's better than not having
any remappables at all.
And because it's a HORI controller it has a turbo function.
- Because turbo is what we need.
You can't non-turbo game.
- I mean, if you like turbo, the slime does it.
Wanna use that slime, it's got a turbo button.
- I'm good, you have at it.
Now, if you actually want to use some of these controllers
you might find the sponsor of today's video useful.
This is the brand new Optoma CinemaX P1.
This is a 4K ultra short throw projector
which can go all the way up to a full 120 inch picture.
And the cool part about this
is that you don't have to sacrifice your space.
Even if you have a smaller room or apartment,
you can still get the maximum out of the projector
by putting it just a few inches away.
The picture quality is incredible too.
Not only are you getting an insane amount of brightness
for a projector but it even supports HDR10.
You're also getting an integrated Dolby Digital 2.0 soundbar

Hi, I just wanted to ask you about the MoviePass thing? Apparently I've been living under a rock or something because its the first I've heard of it. I've read a few articles on it, but I was hoping to get some insight from just a customer. Do you think its worth it? Have you had any issues with it? Because it all seems really convenient and that seems too good to be true. Thanks in advance!
Hi! Yes, I’m more than happy to give you some insight into my MoviePass experience. There are definite benefits and drawbacks, but for me personally, I do think it’s been worth it overall, though that could certainly change in the future. Most of the drawbacks for me are potential future issues rather than current ones: I’ve read a lot about where they want to go with all of this, and I could definitely foresee a point at which I might cancel my subscription, but for now I have largely been satisfied with using it in the way that it is currently set up.
I want to give you a really thorough response to your questions here, and in addition to talking about the practicalities of the subscription, it’s going to involve telling you probably more about MoviePass’s business model than you really wanted to know. But you wanted to know if it’s too good to be true or not, and I think that model is largely where the answer lies. I apologize about the length in advance…
Cost and frequency of use
I absolutely love going to the movies, and I typically go alone, which is basically the ideal situation for someone to benefit from a MoviePass subscription. The card can only be used by one person, so if you typically go to the movies with a friend or partner, they would also need their own subscription. At this point, I am going to the movies about once a week, so in an average month I’m going to probably see around 4 movies with my subscription at a total cost of $9.95, which is what the subscription price was when I signed up. (Currently, they’re running a promotion where it’s only $6.95 a month if you pay it as an annual lump sum–it’s $7.95 if you pay per month instead.) As a comparison, during the three months before I got my card in the mail, I saw ten movies at a total cost of $105. Two of those were IMAX showings, which wouldn’t have been eligible for MoviePass, so my total cost if I’d had my subscription then would have been $60.63 (3 months x $9.95, plus $15.39 each for the IMAX showings). Saving 45-ish dollars over the course of those three months wouldn’t have made a huge difference in my wallet obviously, but it’s not nothing either–who wouldn’t take an extra $15 a month if someone handed it to them?
Most people don’t go to the movies that frequently, however, so the savings may not be that great. MoviePass has actually been around since 2011, at various pricing structures, and they’ve found that frequency of attendance seems to be related to the subscription price, which makes sense. The more you pay, the more you’re going to use it to make sure you’re getting your money’s worth. They believe that most subscribers will only see about one movie a month at the current price point, and if that’s true, most people aren’t really losing any money from a subscription, but they aren’t really saving anything either. This also really makes me the kind of subscriber MoviePass doesn’t want–someone paying them less than $10 a month to see 4 or 5 movies–but I’m perfectly happy to take advantage of their pricing structure for my own benefit. The benefit you see is definitely going to relate to how often you go and how sustainable that is, too. Even if you go four times the first month you have it, will that eventually taper off?
Some of the cost benefit also depends on when and where you go to the movies, too, though. Back when I was fresh out of undergrad, I decided I wanted to see a movie a week in theaters for an entire year, and so I did, typically going to Sunday morning matinees each week at a cost of $5 a ticket. If MoviePass had been a thing back then, it probably still would have been worth it (that’s still about 10 bucks a month saved), but if you only go once a month and you typically go to matinees, it may work out to cost you more. With my subscription now, however, I’ve been going to Friday night showings, when tickets are $10.99 at my preferred theater, so even one ticket would cost me more than I’m paying per month. If you live in a bigger city, those tickets may cost even more. You just have to look at the costs for yourself and see how much, if any, you’ll actually save there.
Putting your [MoviePass’s] money to work
Another benefit for me is that I’m also seeing more movies now than I probably would have otherwise. Late winter/early spring is usually a bit slower for me, with less out that I want to see, but since almost everything I see after the first movie each month is essentially free, I can take a chance on things I might have waited to try to catch on Netflix or elsewhere (I’m going to come back around to talk more about how this fits into their business model later). MoviePass has referred to this as essentially being “bad movie insurance.” You can take a chance on something, and if you don’t like it, it’s not a big deal because you didn’t really pay for it. So far I haven’t gone to see anything that I would really have considered a risk as to whether or not I would at least somewhat like it, but I have used it to see things I probably wouldn’t have spent my own money to see in theaters. For instance, I went to see a well-reviewed French film at my local art cinema one night earlier this week that I probably would have just waited to watch at home at some point if I could find it, but since it was free to me, hey why not go check it out? Out of the five movies I’ve seen in the last month, I probably would have only gone to two or three of them without the subscription, so getting to see more movies has definitely been a nice bonus.
As a diversity-related sidenote here, I think one of the biggest benefits to seeing more movies than I might otherwise is that I can help generate revenue for the kind of films that I want to see more of. Sometimes in the past a film premise didn’t interest me quite enough to spend my own money on it, but I wished I could support the people making it somehow anyway. Now I can use my MoviePass to do that. The five movies I’ve seen so far this month were a big budget Disney film directed by a black woman, a big studio romcom about a gay teenager, a foreign film about gay men, a foreign film about a trans woman, and a sci-fi film where the five main cast members were women, two of whom were women of color, and one of their characters was a lesbian. It was a really nice mix of films. Now obviously every month probably isn’t going to look like that [unfortunately], but I am happy to have the chance to throw MoviePass’s dollars at films created by, starring, and/or about non-white, non-male, non-cis, and non-straight people whenever possible. We need more of that, and the only way to convince the studios to make more of it is to buy tickets.
Speaking of tickets, let me also note here that the theaters are still getting paid the full price of these tickets [right now], so they’re not losing out on that revenue, which is particularly important for supporting your local mom and pop or arthouse theater. Now if you know anything about the way theaters work, you’ll know that little revenue is actually made on ticket sales–most of it is made on concessions which is why those typically cost so much–so your local theater isn’t making a bunch extra off of you using your subscription. But it’s also very much not hurting your local theater if you choose to use your card there. MoviePass isn’t paying them some discounted price for your ticket, so the theater is making the same off of you that they would make off of anyone else. This means you can help to support local business with your subscription the same way you would with your own money, and if you see even more movies there now, in the long run small, local theaters could definitely see a boost from this.
Customer service
Ok, so, cost and frequency and the ability to more generously support some causes I care about make the subscription a win for me personally, but obviously there are also drawbacks. Let’s start with my experience in getting my card, which nearly made me cancel my subscription before I even saw my first movie.
When you sign up, they tell you it typically takes about two weeks for you to receive your card. Two weeks come and go, and I have no card. I look in the app, and I notice that my address on file is missing my apartment number (which I remember double-checking when I signed up, so I know I entered it). I try updating it in the app, and every time I add my apartment number to it, it deletes it again and leaves just the rest of my street address. Ok, so clearly there’s some kind of glitch in their system and, putting two and two together, I decide this is probably why I haven’t received my card. Not a huge deal–I’ll just reach out to customer service and get another one sent. There’s a chat feature in the app for contacting customer service. I send them a message, 24 hours come and go, and no response. I send them an email through their website instead. 48 hours come and go, and no response. Now I’m really irritated, so I take to publicly shaming them for their poor customer service on Twitter, and within probably 20 minutes, I get a reply telling me to DM them with my issue. Finally got their attention, though it’s sad I had to resort to that tactic, but ok, here we go, I tell them the problem, they update my address manually and say they’ll send me a new card.
Two more weeks come and go, and of course, I still have no card. I have to DM them twice more on Twitter to get them to respond, at which point I get a different customer service agent who is basically like, sorry, that person didn’t send it when they should have and we’re sending it for real now. Major eye roll.
At this point I definitely had to stop and consider whether or not the subscription was actually worth it because their customer service was not giving me great confidence. (One saving grace of their subscription model here is that your first month doesn’t actually start until you activate your card, so I wasn’t paying extra subscription fees while I waited for the card to arrive, which is a large part of the reason I decided to stick it out.) Finally, now that it’s been six weeks since I signed up, I get my card in the mail. But of course, the card number showing in the app doesn’t match (it’s probably the first card they sent), so I have to contact customer service yet again to have them update the card number. I email them through the website again just to give that another go, and this time I get a response in just a couple hours, thankfully, and then everything is good to go.
So my initial experience with their customer service team was a bit hairy, but I have had no problems at all using the card and haven’t had to contact them since then. Another part of the reason that I held on instead of cancelling is that all the other people I know who also have a subscription have said that in the rare instances that they’ve had an issue using their card somewhere, they’ve been able to contact customer service and get it taken care of in time to still make the showing they were trying to go to. I haven’t had any problems with the card yet, so I don’t have experience with that part myself, but everyone else I’ve talked to about it only had good things to say about their customer service experiences. My impression from reading around about it is that their customer base has grown more quickly than their customer service capabilities, and it looks like most of their employees and resources must be going toward dealing with pressing issues, like people who are standing at the theater and unable to use their card, rather than things that can wait a little longer, like shipping a new customer their card. That’s my impression at least–I don’t have any solid source to really back that up–but it does seem from anecdotal data that their customer service has been getting better in recent months compared to what it once was (or maybe that’s wishful thinking). I can only hope they keep improving.
Quirks of the service
There are a few other things that could potentially be drawbacks for others, though I find them to be minor inconveniences at worst. Unless you live somewhere that offers e-ticketing through the MoviePass app (there are only three or four theater chains that offer it so far, none of which operate where I live), you cannot buy tickets online in advance. At most, you could go to the theater in the morning and purchase a ticket for a showing that evening, but you would still have to physically go to the theater to do that. And I believe that even if you have an e-ticketing theater, you can still only buy same-day tickets; the difference is just that you can buy them from home before you leave.
The way it works when you want to go to a movie [at a regular, non e-ticketing theater] is that you pull up the app on your phone, find your theater, and check in for the showtime you want to attend. Then MoviePass will load the cost of the ticket onto your card, which is essentially just a regular MasterCard debit card, and you go to the box office and purchase your ticket with it. The finer details of how that works though are that you have to be within 100 yards of the theater before you check in, and you have 30 minutes from the time you check in to purchase your ticket. Therefore, you can’t check in from home and go to the theater whenever–you have to already be there. Checking in also doesn’t reserve you a ticket in any way; it essentially just lets MoviePass know how much money they need to load onto your card, so in theory you could decide to go to a showing and then when you go to buy a ticket, it’s sold out. If that happens, you can easily switch your check-in in the app to a different film or showtime, but it could certainly be annoying to get there and not be able to attend the showing you were planning to go to.
None of this has been a problem at all for me, but I know from reading things online that some people have found it to be inconvenient. Typically, I drive to the theater and check in from my car in the parking lot, and by the time I walk to the box office, the card is loaded and ready to go. I haven’t seen anything yet that I thought might sell out, and I also always get to the theater really early, which cuts down on those kinds of issues. Before I got my subscription, I did usually buy my tickets online in advance, but for most showings it doesn’t really make a difference if I have to wait and buy it the day of. If there’s something that I still feel the need to buy in advance, it’s probably a big event movie like Black Panther, which I saw in IMAX and wouldn’t have been able to use my subscription for anyway. And I personally wouldn’t have a problem paying for that occasional ticket separately even for a showing that would have been covered for my subscription, just for the benefit of knowing that I would for sure have a ticket.
Related to that, you can’t use your card to see any movies that have an upcharge of any sort–no 3D, no IMAX, no Fathom Events, etc. The amount that loads onto your card is just the typical price of a standard ticket for that time of day, so you won’t be able to use it on anything that costs more than that. I do really like to go to Fathom Events showings, so that is sort of a drawback, but I also get why they wouldn’t cover those things in their current model. Case in point: I was thinking about going to go see the Fathom Events screening of Julius Caesar on Thursday, and it was $24 for a ticket. If I were them, I wouldn’t pay for you to go to that either, lol.
The future of MoviePass
All of this brings me around to my last set of points. In terms of doing what it says it does–allowing you to see one standard, 2D movie a day, every single day, for a low monthly cost–I think MoviePass is great. You said in your question that it seems too good to be true, and at the moment I would say that it really and absolutely is that good.
But that’s going to change.
If everything stayed exactly the way that it is now, this business model would be completely untenable. From all indications, MoviePass is basically bleeding money. They have around 2 million subscribers (projected to grow to 5 million by the end of 2018), and if the majority of them are seeing even just one movie a month with the company paying the theaters the full ticket price on each of those transactions, with some customers like me seeing several more, they’re clearly operating at a loss. They even fully admit that they’re not making money right now. So what is their goal? How do they plan to make money off of this?
First of all, there’s your data. Since everything is done through the app, they’re collecting all kinds of data about when you go to the movies and where and what you see. They know your address, so they know how far you’re willing to drive to see a movie. They know what theaters are closer to you that you pass up in favor of going to the one you prefer. They know how early you arrive before the showing. They know if you’re more likely to see an action movie or a drama or a comedy when you go to a movie on a Tuesday night. They know how long the average subscriber waits after a movie comes out before they go to see it. I’ve seen conflicting reports about their GPS tracking, but they may know where you go directly after you leave the theater, whether that’s back home or to dinner or wherever. They’re getting all kinds of insight into the moviegoing experiences of their subscribers, and you and I both know they’re absolutely selling that data to theater chains, to studios and distributors, to whoever wants to know about putting butts into movie theater seats. Clearly I don’t consider this enough of a drawback for me not to subscribe–basically who isn’t collecting and selling your data at this point?–but if you’re someone much more concerned about that kind of thing, obviously this may be a make or break point for you.
They’re also going to use that data for their own purposes to promote particular theaters or particular showings or particular movies over others, giving them a couple ways of using that data themselves to make money. First, they have started to co-purchase films. They know what their subscribers like to watch, so they can buy films they know you would want to see, and then they have the means already in place to promote those films directly to you. Earlier I said I’d come back to the idea of seeing movies you otherwise might not see in theaters. This is where that comes in to play for MoviePass’s bottom line. Even if it’s not a movie that you would typically make the effort to see in theaters, they promote it enough that you think, eh why not, it’s basically free. When you check it out, now a portion of the ticket revenue is going right back to MoviePass, which helps to balance out the money they’re losing on other ticket sales. Then if the movie is any good, that improves word of mouth, more non-subscribers go to see it, and even more money goes into MoviePass’s pockets. On top of that, they get a part of the dvd/digital sales, too.
I think that this is something to keep an eye on–the kinds of things that they purchase and how they go about promoting them, particularly in terms of what’s happened recently with social media, where political influences have been made to extents that we’re really just beginning to comprehend. Now I’m not overly worried about it, and I’m not saying that MoviePass is going to turn into the propaganda arm of a foreign entity–I think it’s ultimately not going to be any more insidious than Netflix or Hulu in terms of promoting its own content over others–but it is obviously still important to look at the types of films they’re buying and/or promoting as they get further involved in that part of their business. As their subscriptions grow, they will have a lot of power to influence what we see and when we see it, both for films they have purchased and films that distributors have paid them to promote, and as consumers, we always need to be critical of the hows and the whys of what anyone is promoting.
The other way they want to make money is from the theaters, and what they want is a discount on tickets and, ideally, a cut of concession sales. As I mentioned earlier, concessions are where theaters make their money, and MoviePass wants a portion of it in return for driving more traffic to their doors. Their subscribers as a whole go to the movies more often and tend to spend more money on concessions as well (if you didn’t really pay for a ticket, it doesn’t seem like such a big deal to then drop $5 on a coke or popcorn), so as their customer base grows, they will have more power to bargain with the big theater chains over it. If AMC, for instance, isn’t interested in cutting MoviePass a deal, maybe some of their busier showtimes disappear from the app. Maybe some of their more popular theaters no longer appear. Maybe the card is no longer valid at AMC at all. MoviePass already knows from all that data they’re collecting that there’s a Regal or a Cinemark across town that their subscribers are willing to drive to if they can use their card there instead, so they can choose to withhold their customers’ business from AMC in whatever ways they want. Right now, their customer base is still small enough that this isn’t going to have a huge effect, but if the numbers continue to grow, they’re going to reach a tipping point where they can begin to put that kind of pressure on the theater chains. It’s really just a matter of when that’s going to happen, not if.
Final thoughts
At the end of the day, I think that if you typically see more than one movie a month, it’s probably worth giving it a go. You can cancel at any time if you decide it’s no longer worth it (you’re barred from signing up again for 9 months after cancelling, btw, in case that’s a concern). For me, signing up was really a question of why not? Why not give it a try? At the moment, it’s still a free-for-all in terms of where and when you can use your card. That means there are 16 theaters within 15 miles of my flat where I can use the card for any showtime of any standard film, as frequently as once a day.
I have one theater that I choose to go to on a regular basis, even though it’s not the closest one to where I live, because I like the theater itself–it’s always decently clean, the seats are in good shape, the screens are a nice size even in the smaller theaters, and there’s a bar so I can buy a drink and take it in with me, lol. The only reason I would go to a different theater right now is if there’s something they’re not showing. That’s pretty rare–typically it’s either that something is playing at the art cinema and nowhere else, or on occasion there’s a Fathom Events screening they don’t get but a different theater does.
But if MoviePass suddenly offered only half the showings I wanted to see there and I couldn’t go at the times I wanted, or perhaps I could no longer use my card there at all, the question becomes, would I switch theaters to keep using my subscription? It’s almost a guarantee that at some point in the not-too-distant future MoviePass is going to ask me to make that choice. They’re going to test the waters with the theaters (and by extension, their subscribers), and some will get on board and some won’t. And the truth is that I don’t yet know my answer. I don’t know yet where I would draw the line between saving money and having a greater choice.
But until that time comes–and it may be coming sooner rather than later–I am more than happy to use their willingness to hemorrhage money to save some of my own.
Sources
I’ve read a ton about the service both before and since I signed up, so I may have referenced something not linked below. I think these cover most of the businessy points though:

One final note: there is a competitor to MoviePass called Sinemia. If you typically see a lot of 3D or IMAX showings, or if you typically go with someone else, you might want to check them out. I don’t know a ton about them, but I do know that they allow you to see [at least some] films with upcharges, they offer a couples plan, and I think they allow you to buy tickets in advance. They do, however, limit you to a set number of movies each month depending on how much you pay (I think you can choose between 2 and 3, iirc). It could be something to check out if that suits your viewing habits.
Edited to add: Check to see if your theater of choice has a rewards program and whether or not you can still use it with MoviePass. Some have disallowed it, but not all. Currently, I’m earning rewards points for every movie that I go to with my subscription, which I can then put toward concessions or tickets to the kinds of screenings MoviePass doesn’t cover.

The classic PS VR exclusive game "Farpoint" is on sale again for People$49.99 The most recent news concerning the VR gyro, "Farpoint" will begin to be sold being an independent game of PSVR at a cost of $49.99, or bundled with another PSVR game "Aim Controller" at a cost of $79.99. "Farpoint" was originally released in May 2017. That is one of the most anticipated video games for PlayStation VR. When Sony's VR head-mounted display premiered, this video game appeared. However, the first couple of months of launching out there performed properly, and then the sales of the game declined somewhat. It could be said that the system still needs even more exclusive big budget games. Now, PSVR fans can view this game being an effective exemplory case of Sony's dedication to the brand new virtual reality technology. Until now, Sony's VR head-mounted display sales possess exceeded 4 million pieces, and the programmer Impulse Gear recognized that it had been time to fill this gap with the most promising VR capturing game "Farpoint" at the time. When "Farpoint" debuted at E3 2016, its amazing aesthetics and interesting narrative format made it the most famous VR game on the display. In the look of this game, Impulse Gear provides players having an opportunity to expertise a comprehensive first-person shooter video game in VR, and interesting tales, and can even initiate online cooperation and survival modes. A year afterwards, the emergence of "Farpoint" paved just how for similar VR tasks that will function online first-person shooters. The story type of the analysis of the Milky Way "Farpoint" took place following a scientific expedition team studied anomalies near Jupiter. Of course, the crew was delivered to a mysterious alien earth, and the initial research mission begun to evolve right into a struggle for survival. Players must explore, fight terrifying creatures, discover surviving crew members and find a way to return home. "Farpoint" structure aside from a striking battle environment-a planet that looks like Mars, where deadly desert landscapes and large spiders are all over the place, this shooting will immediately arouse gamers' nervousness. Generally, the premise of fabricating this game is that Impulse Gear must conduct "a lot of research" on various planets and space environments to empathize and capture the special feeling of being trapped within an unknown world: in this strange On the stars, I don't know what or who can kill you, as well as how the weather will change. Luisi explained that the studio must ensure that players are not fascinated by the scenes depicted inside Farpoint. The planet where the sport is situated must feel unusual and weird, but additionally rooted in reality. With the building blocks of "Farpoint" attempting to tell this type of serious tale, you will not have the ability to cartoonize the environment about alien life. In "Farpoint", the ball player will eventually reach another earth in the solar system far from the world, but for us, everything should be reasonable, which is very important," Luisi said: "We've included many alien appearance components, which are usually extracted from items observed in the solar program to make sure that it is not too against the sky. For instance, when creating an look for the earth, what we want Both unfamiliar and relevant. After a series of concepts, we made a decision to adopt the current look. enjin games discovered that if the earth feels as well unfamiliar, then it will affect immersion. In the surroundings they understand, players will feel as if they are really in there." Changing the shooting game "Farpoint" not merely includes a lot more than 5 hrs of battle gameplay, but additionally provides cooperative maps plus challenge modes pertaining to players to use. For a relatively small group, it really is no easy task to create such a large amount of content, not to mention that Impulse Gear also makes first-person shooters promising in the medium of VR products. Among them, "targeting" is among the biggest complications encountered by the studio, also it proposes a fairly good solution. Of course, players can even now use normal controllers to have fun with "Farpoint" (but this portion of the gamers are actually not fans of the program). However, Impulse Gear must completely reconsider the decades-old targeting technique. In system shooting video games, aiming at the target is how exactly to control the analog joystick with your thumb or hand. Louis said: "A normal shooting game would be to aim the center of the display screen at the enemy (or close to them). You may use an analog controller or computer mouse and key pad to "travel" the center of the display screen above the enemy. For "Farpoint" , We eliminated all of these. It is possible to aim at the enemy by aiming the controller like in real life. It needs to be quicker and more accurate. Players can easily bounce between multiple fast-moving enemies. You are in the game The performance includes a lot to do with the opportunity to purpose the controller. This is the same ability you use in the real world." Looking to the future** ** For Impulse Gear's first project, it was important to tell a poignant personal story, never to create action scenes. "We wanted to do something very different with the "Farpoint" narrative," Luisi mentioned. "Most first-individual shooters are regular action movie style narratives. You want to focus on exploring the intimate narrative of the human condition." However, Impulse Gear's future potential customers remain a mystery, including whether it has decided to create a more action-oriented blockbuster experience in the next project. Creating a VR capturing game is a great learning experience for programmers, from determining steps to make two players show up on the screen at the same time without sacrificing efficiency, to making aliens that look and feel real Planet. Currently, "Farpoint" has only 15 developers within Impulse Gear, which is a model of the studio's highly effective capabilities, and players should expect more projects worth playing within the team soon. "Farpoint" was first released on, may 16, 2017. In July of this year, this video game will quickly be sold again as an indie sport for PSVR at a price of $49.99 or bundled with Purpose Controller for $79.99. *Understand XR details the 1st time * Follow the official website of VR Gyro (vrtuoluo.cn) Contact information of VR Gyro: Business Cooperation | Job interview | Contribution: Watermelon (Line quantity 18659030320) Yuga (Line No. 13129537525) Wen Jing (Range number mutou_kiki) Exchange Posting | Breaking the news: Line shimotsuki_jun Contribution e-mail: [email protected]

The Big Bucks Behind Sleep (Or Lack Thereof)

The benefits of a good night’s sleep can’t be overstated – nor the negative consequences of not getting one. The average human being needs seven to nine hours per night of sleep, and while there is no medical benefit to sleeping more than that average, there are all kinds of risks associated with getting less.
The first one is weight gain (and all its associated health risks like diabetes, heart disease and cancer), because lack of sleep stimulates the production of hormones that increase appetite and limits the production of the hormones that make a person feel full. Which leads to the second (unsurprising) consequence: Given that lack of sleep makes one insatiably hungry, being tired also makes people cranky and depressed.
Yes, science has discovered that waking up on the wrong side of the bed is actually a medical diagnosis almost always brought on by the same root cause: lack of sleep.
The third problem is still under investigation, but is quite concerning. According to NIH studies, those who report poor sleep in middle age often experience symptoms of dementia or Alzheimer’s later in life. Sleep, it seems, plays a critical role in clearing the toxins associated with declines in brain function.
So in short, sleep could make you thin, make you pleasant to be around and, in the long run, possibly protect your brain from degrading. Sounds like it should sell itself – particularly considering that sleep is one of life’s few pleasures that is absolutely free and can be done without a partner or any special training.
But somehow, we are a nation of chronically under-rested people. According to the most recent available research on sleep, about one-third of Americans report routinely getting less than the recommended seven to nine hours a night, while another third report they “sometimes” don’t get enough sleep.
But luckily, where there is a problem, there is typically an innovative entrepreneur selling a solution – and in the case of sleep, there are a lot of solutions out there. According to McKinsey, if you take the approximate value of all the sleep swag on the market as of 2018 –think luxury pajamas, high-end bed linens, cuddling robots, DTC mattresses and odd gadgets – it generates somewhere between $30 billion and $45 billion annually in revenue worldwide. The mattress market alone is worth a whopping $15 billion. Throw in the amount spent on pharmaceutical sleep aids worldwide each year, and “big nap” as an industry will be worth at least $76.7 billion globally by 2020.
Consumers are clearly willing to invest in getting some much-needed rest – and if some of the firms we’ve covered in the last few years are any indication, they are willing to experiment with some out-of-the-box ideas. There’s the Ostrich Pillow, which allows the sleeper to tuck his head into a soft, pillowy box to make it easier to sleep on a desk or other surface. Or there’s the Bearaby, which could be mistaken for a blanket knitted by a grandmother but for the fact that it weighs 20 pounds and costs $250-$280.
If that is more than you want to spend on a pressurized blanket experience, there is the Hatch Sleep Pod, which costs only $100. It works on the same principle as a weighted blanket – applying uniform pressure across the body to reduce stress – but instead of using weights to create the effect, the pod wraps the sleeper tightly in what can only be described as a swaddle.
“It’s designed to feel like a hug,” Founder Matt Mundt explained to PYMNTS.
There is also the slightly different variation of the Sleep Pod – a much more literal one, offered by HOHM. The startup offers napping spaces on-demand in the form of a 43.5-square-foot portable pod that comes equipped with a twin bed and charging station. The pods set up shop in places where the nap-needing tend to gather – university campuses and office spaces being their two main sweet spots – and offer the chance to book a 20-minute to two-hour nap online or on mobile with a few clicks or taps. Once a pod is paid for, the customer checks in with the pod’s attendant, who unlocks it and lets the customer in for their nap.
“I think there’s definitely a demand and interest for a product like this,” the firm’s Founder and CEO Nikolas Woods told PYMNTS. “Wherever people need sleep, we want to be there.”
In the future, he noted, they will be looking to expand their services to airports and music festivals.
As it turns out, apps aren’t only useful for ordering up weighted blankets or time in a sleep pod. The team at Sleepio believes their anti-insomnia app – which comes with a built-in cartoon therapist – is just the tool Americans need to get to bed on time and sleep the right number of hours.
This week, the app got a major upvote of confidence. According to reports from The New York Times, CVS Health is encouraging employers to cover the costs for their workers to use the app. CVS recently included Sleepio, along with about a dozen or so other healthcare apps, as benefits whose downloads employers can cover as part of their insurance policies as easily as they can cover prescription drugs.
In general, CVS is part of a nascent push to bring digital therapeutics and telemedicine more into the mainstream.
“We are at this pivotal moment,” Lee Ritterband, a psychiatry professor at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, noted on the emergence of various digital therapy apps. “For years, these have been bubbling under the surface.”
So far, only a few employers have started offering Sleepio, though CVS expects more to sign on this fall. It was chosen, according to Dr. Troyen A. Brennan, CVS Health’s chief medical officer, because it came backed by rigorous published studies.
“It’s important for us as a pharmacy benefit management company, as a big retail pharmacy, to endorse digital therapeutics when they work as good as or better than medications one can take by mouth,” Dr. Brennan said. “We can give the stamp of approval from having looked at the scientific information.”
The app functions by turning sleep into something of a gamified experience – the person seeking sleep works with a cartoon therapist/chatbot with a Scottish accent and an affable but firm demeanor. The user and the advanced bot work through a series of six weekly online sessions aimed at healing “broken sleep,” according to Sleepio.
“It feels a lot more like play than work,” Lisa Kelly-Croswell, the chief human resources officer at Boston Medical Center, noted of the program. Boston Med has offered Sleepio since 2016.
But does it really work? The science is a bit more mixed than Dr. Brennan let on. In several randomized studies that assigned some volunteers to use Sleepio and others to use a different treatment, the Sleepio users generally performed better in terms of how long it took them to fall asleep and how long they stayed asleep throughout the night. But in terms of net time spent asleep, the two groups didn’t have very different outcomes.
Plus, the program seems to have some issues with keeping customers engaged. Boston Medical, for example, has had about 3,000 people start the program since it became available in 2016, but have only had about 350 finish it. And that 89 percent attrition rate doesn’t seem to be a problem that is wholly unique to medical workers in Boston drinking too much Dunkin’ coffee. One large randomized trial showed that only 18 percent of Sleepio users completed the insomnia treatment. Another showed that more than half of people who downloaded the app failed to engage with it at all.
In some sense, Sleepio has the same problem as every other solution: It can only work if one uses it. The weighted blanket won’t help if you kick it off, and the luxury pajamas won’t work if they never come out of their box.
But lying under a weighted blanket is not a lot of work (unless one tries to move), nor is slipping on a set of luxury pajamas or checking into a campus sleep pod. Sleepio’s user retention issues might indicate that its course of study can succeed, but that it might be a little too much work for someone who is already tired.
Plus, given the sheer volume of experts who point out that smartphones are one of the main factors contributing to Americans not getting enough sleep, one has to wonder if a phone app is really the right approach when it comes to an insomnia cure.
And honestly, we can’t help but wonder how many of the workers who downloaded Sleepio tried to use the app, opened up their phone to start their session with the cartoon sleep therapist and then got distracted by shopping on Amazon, checking in with social media, binge-watching something on Netflix or talking to a co-worker on Slack. For some consumers, a sleep app is clearly an effective solution – but for others, we imagine, it is sort of like hosting a Weight Watchers meeting in a bakery, in that it’s just not the right venue to encourage willpower or discipline.
For those customers, it might be better to offer lower-tech solutions.
Like a doll bed for their phone – which, of course, they keep in a room other than the one their actual bed is in.

A number of the reasons you may possibly aim www.speedyloan.net/payday-loans-de to refinance add:
You wish to spend less. You could save money and reduce your repayments if you can find a lower interest rate. Even a 0.5% decrease on your own rate of interest will save you thousands of bucks within the life of your loan.
You desire a faster loan term. Whenever interest levels are down, you may well be in a position to lessen the term of the loan—from 30 to 25 years for instance—without a lot of switch to your repayments, meaning you may well be in a position to spend down your property loan sooner.

You need to combine debts that are existing. It could make sense to roll these into your home loan if you’re diligent with your repayments if you have multiple debts. The reason being rates of interest related to mortgage loans are usually less than other types of borrowing.

It’s important to ascertain these plain things then when you’re researching other loans, you understand just what you’re after.
Perform some monetary advantages outweigh the expenses? You could be in a position to spend less on the long haul by refinancing, however the upfront expenses can nevertheless be costly. That is why, it is a good idea to investigate where expenses may use, or be negotiable—think release costs, enrollment of home loan charges and break expenses for those who have a fixed-rate loan. Additionally think of application expenses in the event that you swap lenders—establishment charges, appropriate costs, valuation costs, stamp responsibility, and lender’s mortgage insurance coverage in the event that you borrow significantly more than 80percent for the property’s value.
Maybe you have spoken to your overall lender? Before you hop ship, it might be well worth a speak to your overall loan provider while they may be prepared to renegotiate your package to retain you as a client.
Has there been any switch to your own personal situation? A credit card applicatoin procedure if you wish to refinance will use. What this means is your loan provider will require under consideration such things as your work situation, extra debts you’ve taken in, or you’ve got an evergrowing family members as each one of these things make a difference your borrowing potential.

The state of the sub being what it is, this is my attempt to be helpful. It took me awhile to put this together, so I hope you all like it.I wanted to talk about content marketing (as in, any article or blog post that is hosted on your website or other content creation sites). In the early days of the internet, great content was pretty easy to find, and the creators of it were rewarded. As with all things, the market was eventually flooded by every bad writer and their dog who wanted a piece of the pie. Actually, the dog is likely doing it better. Regardless, content marketing is always going to be a primary method of creating or driving traffic.Picture of a dog in front of a computer. I should see at least part of this first image without having to scroll.Because of those bad writers, high quality content is becoming more difficult to find. It’s still out there, but it has a harder time gaining traction in a market dominated by dubious SEO practices. Basically, the internet sucks at discernment. To combat the problems of keyword stuffing and link farming, the trend is increasingly longform--we’re talking 2,000-5,000 words or more. With a million screenshots or pictures thrown in, because the longer you’re on a page, the higher it ranks. We call these skyscrapers. Because they’re tall, obviously. (Final count of this post is 3724 words.)What this means is that the winners of the content wars right now don’t necessarily have to be good. They just have to be long. But!!! This is great news for you, a respectable business owner/entrepreneur. Because almost anyone can write high-quality longform content that ranks well, without being an SEO expert. You just have to be willing to put in the time.DISCLAIMERS/SALES PITCH: Yes, I’m a copywriter/content marketer, and yes, I can do this for you if you pay me. I have room for two, maybe three more clients for the remainder of this year, and if you’d like to talk rates (I’m not cheap) you can PM me. Also, none of the links are affiliate--everything I’m sharing here are tools or resources that I personally use and love. Now that that’s out of the way, let me show you around deliberately crafted longform content. I want you see what it looks like when it’s done well; and the steps you can take to do it all by yourself. This isn’t rocket surgery; you just have to understand what works and what doesn’t.Meme of a cat in scrubs.Step 1: Start with a systemWhat kind of system you have matters not at all, but your writing and organization will be greatly improved if you can access everything you need all at once.If you’re totally new to content creation, I highly recommend you check out Airstory or Notion. Both are rich text editors that allow you to save external clippings and notes. If Google Docs and Evernote had a baby, it’d be Airstory, but it’s web based, not an app, so you can’t use it offline. Notion adds Sheets and is far more feature rich, but will cost you a few bucks if you’re using it to write. Both use blocks, which allow you to edit much more easily than a traditional text editor.Feel free to use whatever janky system you’ve already cobbled together, but keep your research accessible, because you will use it a lot for this type of content.Picture of a cat sitting on a pile of binders.Step 2: Create a copywriting outlineWhen you’re crafting deliberate content, you want to look at it from the reader’s perspective. Don’t half-ass this. The longer you spend asking yourself what your reader wants, the more it’s going to feel like you reached into their head, scooped out their brains, and perused them at leisure. You want them to feel like you know them personally. Will you connect with everyone who reads your thing? No. But that’s not the goal. The goal is your ideal reader--so the more you know about them, the more you’re going to be able to answer their actual questions. For example, if you’re still reading this, it’s likely because you want to write better content, and you want it to rank better in search. You’re frustrated by the sheer amount of bullshit that gets shared on the internet these days, especially when you know that you have actual solutions to actual problems. And if you could just get your stuff in front of people, you know that you could help them. You have a genuine desire to serve your customers or clients, and also, you’d like to be able to pay the bills while doing it.I’m not a mind reader. But I have done the work. Now, my absolute favorite tool for a copywriting outline comes from the geniuses over at Fizzle. (I am not affiliated with them, although I do worship from afar.) The 80/20 Copywriting sheet is hands down one of the best tools in my arsenal. Go download it, read the instructions, and use it for everything you write. You won’t regret it.You should go into this worksheet with a general concept about what you want to write, but it doesn’t have to be super specific yet. Pay special attention to the box on the bottom right, common words and phrases. Because that’s what you’ll be doing next.My worksheet for this piece.Step 3: Ask questionsCurrently, search algorithms are leaning pretty heavily to questions, because people are using voice interface. Think of how you’d talk to Alexa or Siri. You’re asking a specific question. “How do I do this thing?” “What’s the name of the guy on Brooklyn Nine Nine who says cool a lot?” “I need a recipe for a no bake dessert.” “What's the best software to solve my specific problem?” You know, that sort of thing. What you want to do is reverse engineer your content into these kinds of questions. Just pretend you’re Alex Trebek. If the answer is your content, what’s the question you’d ask to get there?Next, you want to go plug it all into Google and see what comes up. There are a number of tools that you can use for this. Ahrefs, Moz, SEMrush, Serpstat, Google Correlate (those last three are free for basic use). But if you’re not already using one of them, you don’t have to panic and start now. Google is more than enough to get you started.SEO is based on keywords, which is why keyword stuffing is still a thing. But if you can put those keywords into the form of a question, you’ll have a little more leeway with the answers. So, if you ask, “What is the scientific name of a rose?” that exact phrase doesn’t have to be your post title, or even a part of your content at all. Just the keywords, plus the answer. In this case, that’s “scientific name,” “rose,” and “rosa.” If your content has all three of those things, then you’re well on your way to a good SEO ranking. Before you move on, take a look at the competition. Click on every link on the first page (second and third pages too, if you’re really being diligent) and see what’s there. You’ll use this to form the basis of your outline, while also filing away quality outbound links to be used later. More on this in a minute.Gif of Andy Samberg. (Sharing your fandoms almost never hurts you and it gives your audience another way to connect with you and your work.)Step 4: Create a content outline (or plug into a template)So, now that you know what questions you’re asking, and what the competition is doing, you should be able to start turning this information into your own very long content. The value of an outline can not be overstated. Taking ten minutes now will save you a ton of time later, and the more details you have, the easier it’ll be to do the actual writing. Use a bulleted list (or numbering if your topic is technical or especially complex) and come up with basic headings and subheadings. This allows you to do a number of things. First, you’ll know what additional research you need to gather. The more quality links your content has, the higher it will rank.Next, you’ll be able to design the flow of your content, especially if your goal is to get the reader to take action on something. Maybe you want them to subscribe to your list. Good content will guide them from the top of the page all the way down to your optin, where they will immediately subscribe because of all the amazing information you just gave them. Finally, a good outline will help you figure out roughly how long your content is going to be. If you have ten headings and you average 200 words a section, that’s 2,000 words.Outline for this piece.Step 5: Research outbound links, affiliate linksI mentioned that using quality links will improve your ranking. Here’s how that works. It used to be that any backlinks from any site increased your traffic, and volume was a factor. The more links, the better. This led to a lot of link farming and other dubious SEO strategies, and it brought down the overall quality of searchable content. To combat this problem, search engines started prioritizing higher quality links. The better the site overall, the better the ranking from that site’s links, both inbound and outbound. What that means, then, is that links in your content that lead to other high quality content makes you look good by virtue of association. If your outbound links are high quality, then your content probably is too, at least as far as the algorithm is concerned. If you’re using affiliate links (and there’s no reason why you can’t--just make sure you disclose them), this is the time to gather them and any product screenshots. Longform content is often a great place to use affiliate marketing, because the length demonstrates to the reader that some actual effort went into selecting the products. It’s not just a generic listicle or gift guide, it’s a thoughtfully curated addition to your content. Your readers CAN tell the difference.Cats wearing jewelry. Because obviously.Step 6: Write postNow you’re finally ready to write. The good news is, you aren’t starting with a blank page, so you can’t successfully claim writer’s block. You’re just going to plug in a few paragraphs per section to get things going. Remember, this is a rough draft, and you have lots of time to polish this thing up.Unless you’re writing for an academic crowd, you’re aiming for an 8th grade reading level. The fact is that we love to share longform content because it makes us look smart. But we don’t actually read it. It’s just more noise (and a lot of it) in an already noisy world. So, the easier it is to read, the more likely it is to actually be...read. That’s a painful truth when you’re pouring hours of your time into something, but it’s reality. On the other hand, that takes some pressure off of you. You don’t have to be a Pulitzer Prize winner here. Just easy to read.Gif of another dog and computer.Step 7: Write subheadings, introduction, and conclusion/call to actionI never write my introduction first. I might scratch out a few sentences to get the ball rolling, but it’s nearly always crap, and I nearly always change it. It’s much easier to write a compelling introduction and conclusion once you know the actual contents of your piece. The same goes for subheadings really--you can write a much snappier section title if you know what’s in there. Your headings matter. Keywords in header tags rank slightly higher than text, so if you can naturally incorporate your keywords here, you should. But ONLY if it’s natural.Gif of a snapping turtle and a watermelon. Snappy? Snapping turtle? It’s the best I had here, okay?Step 8: Write headlineNow for the fun stuff. It’s time to come up with a title. Let’s be crystal clear on this: your title is everything. You want to strike a balance between creative and SEO friendly, which takes some time. Start with keywords and include as many of them as you naturally can. Then, go snag yourself a copy of this printable from CoSchedule, and see if any of these power words will work for you. Make a list of AT LEAST ten possible titles. For extra credit, use this headline analyzer tool. If you can score a 70 or better, you’re in great shape (final score for this headline was a 77). Then sit on it for a day or two.If there’s no obvious winner when you come back, pick the one that you yourself would be most likely to click on. Your writing is a direct conduit from you to your customers. It’s a safe bet that if they are buying something from you, it’s because they like you. Which means that if YOU like a title, there’s a reasonable chance that your readers will like it too. Don’t overthink it. Just consider if you yourself would click, and pick your favorite.Screenshot of my last round of headline analysis. I did three total.Step 9: Proofread a gazillion timesNext, it’s time for the sweeps. If you’re interested in the technical aspect of copywriting and how to make it better, Jo Wiebe of Copyhackers has a bunch of tutorials about sweeps, and how to use them. There are seven sweeps in all, and if you learn to apply them, it will automatically make you a better writer. But, if that freaks you out, then print out a physical copy of what you’ve written and read it aloud several times. That will allow you to trim out most of the bad writing and inconsistencies, because the more conversational your writing, the easier it is to read.Proofreading should make you feel good about what you’ve written. The more you read it, the more you should like it. Most writers spend a lot of time rereading their work and telling themselves how clever and amazing they are, and it’s an important part of the process. Don’t sell yourself short--you’re writing good stuff here.Yes, I am amazing.Step 10: Add imagesOnce your text is all nailed down, go back and add images. The more you have, the better you’ll rank. That’s why recipes have step by step photos and completely inane stories to go with them. All that fluff makes the recipe itself rank higher in search. It adds theoretical value to the content and increases SEO.Tutorials of any kind should be well documented, with photos for each part of the process. If it’s something that’s not as easily documented, then use photos that are in some way related to the text. Obviously, memes, gifs, and cat pictures work too, or you wouldn’t still be here.Because I am writing this for Reddit, you’re missing out on the experience of photos as visual breaks. What I’ve tried to demonstrate here is how often photos should appear in between blocks of text. This isn’t an exact science, but try not to stack photos. Break them up with some kind of text in between. Also make sure you use image tags, and add descriptions if you’re feeling fruity. Descriptions are great for clever asides, but if you go that route, make sure your tags are complete for accessibility purposes.Pobody’s nerfect.Step 11: Outbound linksNext you want to add your links. There's two types of outbound links. Nofollow and dofollow. Don't overcomplicate this. Dofollow links to sites you know, like, and trust (this is just a normal standard link). Nofollow the ones you don't (this requires an HTML tag, but it’s not hard).Don't get cute. Links should say what they are, or they should just say here.Bingpot, baby.Step 12: Check your formattingBefore you publish, make sure you take a look at your content on mobile. Your content management system probably has a way to do this, but if nothing else, read it through on your own phone. You want easy navigation and lots of white space. Mobile users scroll through the text faster, so make sure that it’s easy to do.Check that pictures resize automatically, that headers and subheaders don’t break off in unfortunate places, and that everything is visually appealing. In 2015, approximately 70% of users browsed Facebook via a mobile device. In 2018, that number was 95%. You likely know your own numbers, so make sure you look good for the audience and inbound traffic sources that you already have.Take it sleazy. Honestly, I don’t even know what I’m doing anymore.Step 13: PublishOkay. It’s pretty, polished, and as close to perfect as you can get it. Plug it in your CMS, check formatting one last time, add your keywords to Yoast if you use it, and you are ready to go.In veeeery general terms, the best day of the week to publish most forms of content is Tuesday. There’s an insane number of factors that go into that calculation though, so really, do what you want. SEO is a long game. You’re looking to score traffic over time, not create viral content (although if you do, that’s certainly a bonus). Virality is hard to predict though, and carefully optimized content will nearly always do well in the long run.Noice.Step 14: Social media/email scheduling and other promotionWith content marketing, actually writing the thing is only half the battle, and that’s probably being generous. You have to get eyes on your stuff. Obviously, the first step is to promote it on all of your own social media channels. If you have an email newsletter, promote it there. With these folks, you can go a step farther and ask them to share it for you, because they already like you. Give them the opportunity to share your message, and you’ll create a fan base that feels like they’re a part of what you’re creating.Once you’ve done that, head over to your social scheduler and plug it in to be promoted later in the week, later in the month, and then every three to six months, depending on how much content you already have. The more content you create, the easier this becomes, and you’ll get new traffic every time you share, because there will ALWAYS be people who missed it the first time around. Now, about that scheduler…. You have a LOT of options here, and they run the gamut from free to definitely not free. Hootsuite is a great way to get started, and isn’t so complicated that you’ll be overwhelmed. If you want more features to play with, then Coschedule and Meet Edgar are probably my favorites. Finally, find yourself some content ambassadors. These are people in your niche or in an adjacent niche who will share your content for you (this is how you get your backlinks, and you’ll have to work for them). Reach out to your network. Ask friends on social media. Mention an influencer by name in your content, and then @ them on social. Guest posts, Slack channels, message boards, relevant subreddits. There’s a ton of ways to get links to your content. And remember--this is a long game. You don’t have to do it all at once. You can spread this out over several weeks, even months. Mention it organically in conversation. Reach out via email. Make it a part of your regular routine to ask people to share your content--”hey I wrote a thing your people might like, would you please share it?” If you’re not an asshole, you’ve got a good chance.Supermodel kitten.Step 15: InterlinkingOnce you have created a library of content (around 30 pieces), you can and should take every opportunity to link to it. The goal here is to keep your visitor on your site for as long as possible. If you can get them to click around to your other content, and read everything you’ve ever written, your bounce rate will drop, and you’ll rank higher in search. It also helps you build your authority and reputation. There's a difference between a skilled professional and a bad guru. We can smell it, instinctively. A guru wants to sell you something at all costs. They don't care about you, they care about your money. But you can make money while genuinely being of service. Your free content is what helps you demonstrate that. A library of free content says that your actual product or service is worth my time.Hot damn.In conclusion, or your call to action:We’ve done it, Reddit! I think. 15 very long steps later, we've reached the end.A good conclusion should sum up your main thesis without being overly repetitive. You always want to assume the intelligence of your reader, so be clear and concise. If they’ve actually read the entirety of the content and not just skimmed it, they’ve been here for awhile. Finally, this is where you make your ask. For example, you should PM me for quotes on amazing longform content that’s done for you, just like this. That’s it.Look, you did not do all this work to beat around the bush. Tell people what you want them to do. Just make sure you’re only asking for ONE thing. “Share this and subscribe to my newsletter and leave a comment,” is going to get you exactly none of those things. Be explicit, be nice, and if you’ve done everything right, you’ll get them to do what you’ve asked.Content marketing is a skill, but it’s one you can learn. And while it’s a time consuming process, it’s a pretty amazing feeling knowing that you’ve created something that’s both valuable to you as marketing, and to your customers as a resource. Good luck, and happy writing!

How to Create a Lead-Generating Offer
Let's talk about product creation … specifically about a Free Offer you can put together that will help you promote yourself as a coach or consultant.
Why 'Free' you might ask? One reason: it will help you generate leads so that you can then offer them your profitable coaching products and services. You are basically offering them an "ethical bribe" – something of value you give away in order to get something else of value, ie, their name and email address. Your Free Offer is a way to invite prospective clients to get on your list so you can stay in contact with them to offer more and better "stuff" like information, resources, products, and coaching.
The first thing you need to know is that you do not start with just any old Free Offer. You need to know yourself first, then be very familiar with your market or niche. It also helps to have some kind of marketing strategy in mind before you begin.
So you are basically saying "Give me your name and email address I will send you this 29-page EBook." That's it. You also tell them there is no obligation to buy anything, and that they can opt out of your list at any time. That is completely ethical; you are not hiding anything, doing any kind of bait-and-switch, or cheating anyone.
So how do you create your free offer?
At the end of this article, you can follow the link to go check out mine. It's a 37-page Ebook entitled Coaching Profits, and is filled with some of my best stuff. I do this to build both credibility and trust … and you should do the same. Your prospect needs to know that you understand your subject, and that you can be trusted to deliver what you say you will.
Let's say you're a relationship coach and you want to put out a free report entitled "How to Make Your Husband Fall In Love With You All Over Again." Here are the Steps –
Create a Word document (I'll go over the details later)
Write your outline or table of contents first. I need to stress this because a lot of people go off and start writing without realizing what the heck are writing about, or the end result they are looking for. Strategy has to come first, and the Table of Contents lays this out.
Outline the steps in your report in order. In other words, tell them Step 1 is to get their husband's attention, Step 2 to create the mood, Step 3 to drive him wild with anticipation, etc. Your report should be anywhere from 20 to 80 pages. Some subjects take longer than others. Some do not take so long. Then put the titles for each chapter in the table of contents.
Flesh out and edit the report. If you do not know how to do this, hire someone on Fiverr or another outsource site to do it for you.
Create the title and Book Cover and add to the Word document.
Create a PDF from the Word doc and
Upload your report to your website and create an Opt-In page linked to something called an auto-responder which I'll talk about in a separate article.
"But I can not write" is the excuse a lot of people use about writing their free offer. I hear that a lot, but you know what? You do not have to know how to write! If you can talk to a friend and tell him or her how to do what you want them to do in this report, you can also record yourself and send it off to someone who can transcribe this audio!
So who said you have to write to be published?
Once you get the transcripts back you need to edit it. You can do it yourself or you can get someone else to do it. Again, there are people on Fiverr and everyone who are just looking for part time work like this.
Get your cover graphics done – again it will cost you 5 bucks on Fiverr. But make sure your title is actually the promise that you make in the report: 'If you read this book this is what you are going to get' is your promise. So put the promise in the title.
For example:
Five Steps to a Lasting Marriage,
Four Stress Free Ways to Get Your Teenager To Clean Up His Room,
Three Ways To Earn Fast Cash in Commodities
6 Ways to Find a Job As An Artist, etc, etc.
You can also spice it up by being more specific, eg, Five Steps For a Lasting Marriage in 30 Days or 3 Ways To Earn Fast Cash in Commodities in Less Than 48 Hours or something like that.
In other words if you give a promise and you set a deadline, that is usually more effective than just promise by itself. But do not promise a time limit unless you feel it can be real. The main thing is to offer some result they are going to achieve for taking action based on your report.
So what is the key to success? Give them your best stuff. Really. Do not hold anything back. Now obviously you can not give them all the details in 20 to 80 pages … but you can still tell them everything you know about the "6 ways" or whatever in broad strokes.
Lay it out for them step by step. Most people have no idea about how to do what you probably know backwards and forwards, so give them all the steps – even the ones you think are quite obvious.
For example, while instructions to "connect with your spouse" may seem obvious to most women, the opposite is true for men. They usually find this phrase frustrating and confusing. You have to spell it out for them, ie, "spend 5 minutes just sitting and looking into your wife's eyes while listening to whatever she has to say …"
Clear, yes?
Finally, the end game of your report is to sell something: your course, your coaching, or other product. The most effective way to do this, however, is NOT to launch a frontal attack, ie, "Buy my stuff!" The best way to sell your stuff is to first understand that, while most people hate to be "sold to," they still love to buy. So make it easy for them to buy.
First, paint an ugly picture of the future. People do not like ugly pictures, and "get" that their problem probably will not go away without a solution. They just do not want to think about it.
Your job is to get them to think about it … and what could happen if things continue the way they are now.
When a dentist sticks that little probe in your mouth and hits a cavity, you scream. This is ugly, but drives home the point he wants to make. The dentist knows that, once you feel that pain, you will want to solve that problem as soon as possible! And guess what … he's right there to provide the solution!
Second, paint a pretty picture of the future. What will happen when this problem is solved? How is it going to look two or three years down the road? How good is the person going to feel about that? How great is that going to be for them and their family?
Third, emphasize both the ugly and pretty many times. Repetition works. Present different ways of saying it, different ways of highlighting it. The main thing is repetition. As long as your prospect hears it over and over again they are going to act.
So when you lay out your report you want to start off with the problem. Then present the opportunity, ie, "You know you have this problem; it does not always have to be this way, and here is the opportunity to fix it." Then present whatever you have to offer.
You end up with a close. Your close is not hard; it is very soft. You say, "Did you enjoy this report? Was it great or what? Would you like me to help you with it?"
They will either say a yes or no. Chances are, if you've presented your best stuff there will be some who think "Holy Cow, this is great. Yes, I do need some help!"
Then make what expert marketer Frank Kern calls "the Irresistible Offer." Offer to sit down with them (in person or on the phone) and design a program just for them. Free. It is during this free consultation that you get a chance to really connect with your prospective client, and help them decide that YOU are the solution to their problem.

My husband and I currently have a 20 year term life insurance policy. We are switching companies because we were paying too much at State Farm. Do we qualify for medicaid?

He's currently unemployed (he's looking for a job). I pay rent, all the bills, car insurance, and all the other little things. So i'm broke at the end of the month. He has a cyst in his chest (we're assuming). He went for a check up about a year ago, and the doc said it was a cyst. It's been getting bigger and worse, so we want to get it fixed. Since he lives with me, and I make enough for the both of us, will he qualify for medicaid? I WILL NOT be able to afford all the medical bills! Will both of us qualify? How will this be done? How much money should I budget for insurance on a car dealership?
My bank needs an estimate for a car dealership insurance but the insurance company is taking forever? HELP!? I've been trying to get a hard insurance quote for over 2 months. they keep coming back with more questions because i'm doing a slightly unique business model. Thats fine and all, I understand why and that doesn't bother me, but what the problem is that the bank said they won't submit my loan app to the SBA until I have at least a rough insurance estimate in my cash flow, and the insurance companies I'm talking to (2) won't give me a rough idea at all! I was in my first major car accident, my car was totaled. My friend got a DUI not too long ago. This is the state of Florida, and she has Allstate. I understand that her getting a DUI is now public records because she spent the night in jail. Because the fact that it's public records now, is she required to inform her Allstate insurance company about her DUI? Also, what will happen either way whether she reports it to insurance company or not? Will they remove her from her insurance or jack up the rates? It is her FIRST DUI and other than that she has a good driving record. Thanks.""

Why are car insurance quotes on comparison sites so high?
I'm almost 17 and I'm hoping to learn to drive and buy a car, I was looking on some comparison sites to see what the insurance might be on some possible cars (ford KA, fiat sciento, nothing too fancy) but the quotes were ridiculously high? I know being 17 will mean expensive insurance but this was really expensive, they said the cheapest was around 6000 for third party. This is really high because I know loads of people who drive at 17 and their insurance ranges from 1800-3000. So, why is it so high and will it actually be this price when I come to pay the insurance?""

Health Insurance N. Florida?
Health Insurance CHP (Capital Health Plan) Tallahassee FL is diagnosing me? Why did my health insurance company contact my primary doctor after a hospital visit? After a recent visit to the ER due to a esophageal stricter which scared us thinking Chest pain! Spent 16 hours being observed and tested! Finally send down to endoscopy for a esophageal dilation! Did the job!! I was sent home 4 hours later! Now two weeks later I get a phone call from my Primary care Doctors office manager saying that my primary received a memo from my health insurance (after my ER visit) company and I was instructed to call and make an appointment for alcoholism counseling???? The night of the incident where I couldn't swallow, and was in pain! we had guests over and had a few beers! I gave the attending ER doctor all information including I had drank beer an hour before I got there. OK, now, For the 16 hours at the hospital and the multiple blood tests, everybody including the Dr's said everything looked good! and the Dr. that discharged me explained to my wife in detail about my blood work, said things were fine. So, why would my CHP (Capital Health Plan) health insurance company be contacting my primary? Especially about alcoholism counseling, this has NEVER been an issue in the past! I'm so upset! I've been with my primary for over 15 years and due to a knee injury he prescribes me mild pain killers, and Florida Law makes him take a urine sample every 3 months! Again this has never come up. Is this normal for an insurance company to do??? I'm so upset!!!!""

Does affordable FAMILY Health insurance in California even exist? :( Desperate!?
Hello: My husband and I are in the process of moving on in our life and figuring out the next step. Rather than moving ahead now and planning later I would rather plan now then move ahead. I feel that its not smart to start trying for a baby until we know if its going to be possible to afford health insurance. Right now we are both working fulltime but my work is not family friendly when it comes to health insurance. Currently to add my spouse and a child to my insurance whether its PPO or HMO its over $1,200 for us 3!!! When looking outside of my employer at what is out there its over $800! We make about $4,000 a month but after rent, car payments, cell phones, car insurance, bills, groceries, and gas we are left with only about $800 a month to live off of. And that is not nearly enough for a baby with daycare and health insurance!! We obviously dont qualify for state funding or and government assistance. I am just wondering if anything exists out there for people like us! :( Unfortunately it seems things would be easier if we both worked at a low income job or not worked at all!! Please help, I want a good future for us all and dont want to depend on government funding!!""
