glad he played dear theodosia because I never actually watched hamilton or anything so i have no emotional connection to that song bc that was my first time hearing it. I saw some people on twitter suggesting he sing slipping through my fingers for her and if he had done that i genuinely would've been on the floor sobbing

I just watched Mamma Mia! Here we go again and this felt like a fever dream. I loved it. It made no sense. I cried. It's a masterpiece in the most unsettling way. I have so many questions

allow me to indulge my gay theatre nerd side for a moment. now if i'm being perfectly honest, i normally don't like jukebox musicals. they usually feel too forced to me and i prefer a musical that actually has songs, y'know, written specifically for it and isn't just trying to fit songs into a story they weren't made for. it just feels more creative to me. if i wanted to listen to preexisting songs, i'd just listen to them at home without the extra story. i don't need a musical for that. HOWEVER. if anyone wanted to write a jukebox musical using fall out boy or mcr songs i would eat that shit UP no questions asked. in fact if i had any talent i'd write one myself

Okay, I recently watched Mamma Mia (2008) for the first time and today I watched the sequel... I know people have a LOT of love for these films. While I too enjoyed the fuck out of how campy and happy and sunshiny they are, and how fun it is to watch a bunch of hollywood actors be drunk on a beach and badly sing ABBA songs, I still found some parts hard to watch. There were these moments that were just so painfully straight (idk how else to word it) they really took me out... All this "getting married and having a baby is the holy grail and being single is suffering"-talk got on my nerves and made me long for the sweet release of Colin Firth doing the titanic thing with Stellan Skarsgård...

as hard as it may seem to believe, just because a film has Janelle Monae in it doesn’t mean it’s a deep and meaningful film that’s deconstructing modern society. Glass Onion can just be a fun silly murder mystery with exciting little twists that says “Elon Musk is an idiot” and nothing more in the “theme and message” section, and I think that’s fine. but yes Janelle Monae is in it which elevates it to Film That Has Janelle Monae In It
