Clash of the Cubes - Auditions are now Open!

“Welcome, everyone, to the sequel to the Battle of the Blixers, the Clash of the Cubes. I, Pulse, shall be your host for this new competition.”

How does it work?

“Within this competition, your Cubes will compete in challenges that requires their strength and cunning. These challenges will have a 7-Day Deadline to finish and submit, although there will be a 3-Day Extension incase anyone haven’t submitted. Each challenge can be done through either comics, art, animation, writing, etc.”

“Every challenge will also have a voting period, where the audience votes on a challenge based on the criteria given to rank them. There will be 2 votes, a Normal Vote, and a Favorite Vote. Normal votes are given via Google Forms, and are worth 1 vote, with 4 being able to be cast. Favorite Votes are given via Tumblr, and are worth 2 votes, with only 1 being able to be cast.”

“After votes are cast, points will be awarded based on the results. There will be also extra points given by me, Pulse, based on a secret criteria.”

“After 5 challenges, the Ultimate Challenge will begin, where the top 3 Cubes will compete to win the grand prize of the Dimensional Artifact. And also one million beatpoints, but since when does anyone care about those?”

How to join?

“It’s quite simple. All you have to do is make your Cube audition to be in the contest. There will be 12 slots. The slots will be decided on how good the audition is, as well as the Cube auditioning.”

“Please send auditions through either the reblogs, or through the #clash_of_the_cubes tag, while tagging @nyazhi or @nyazhis-jsablr.

“The audition deadline will be within 7 Days, although there may be a 3-Day Extension if the majority wants it.”

Hey there! I realized constantly reblogging the "please donate to palestine" post again and again wasn't the most helpful strategy, and could've been annoying. So I decided to go for a different strategy: just open commissions, with a full commission sheet!

I do wanna establish something: I'm still not gonna post much art unless commissioned. If someone commissions me for a specific art piece, I'll post it. But for art I do in my free time for fun, I won't post that unless someone donates at least a dollar and requests that I post art I've got backed up.

I feel like a lot of non-artists don't understand how defeated some artists feel when they look at ai art. For some it's because they think that ai art is better than their own, for others it's just the sheer disgust they feel when they look at ai art. AI art has been turned into a joke for many people, but looking at ai art is genuinely demotivating, and atleast for me, really fucking annoying.

And then there are people who'll go on about "oh but midjourney was already taking your art" okay, and? Is it not disgusting how Tumblr was aware of AI taking their artist's art, and instead of trying to implement some rules to stop this, they decide to make money off of it? And no, I will not leave Tumblr, because this has been the best platform for me to post art on, but Tumblr has now consciously decided to ruin that. I mean, where do you even want to go? Twitter's dying, TikTok is a hell scape, deviant art is also doing AI bullshit, and Instagram is just downright ass.

It makes me feel very defeated to think about all this, and I don't think anyone who doesn't know how this feels like should be telling artists that it's "not that bad". Please, for the love of God, shut up.

Because it's an interesting question, when asked by Kotetsu. Because while most people could track meeting their best friend in school, at the candy shop, in the park, or somewhere uninteresting where they could have met anyone else and where their lives wouldn't change a whole lot if they had never met, Kotetsu was the only one who could say that if he hadn't met Izumo, he would probably, quite literally, be dead, gone rogue, or still be missing since age three, living alone in the woods, barely verbal, and more an animal than a person.

The story of how Kotetsu at age 7 had been missing and isolated from civilization for so long, he refused to let anyone near him; except the one kid who, after a bad first meeting, started giving him what no one else had offered him before, and what would, in their adult years, transform into something even greater: genuine care, patience, and love.

Hey folks!

This post was kind of a long time incoming, but I really didn't have the words/courage to make it. (ty to misery lake for coming on the subject first, I've loved talking with you and bonking dolls, you've always made me smile <3) But I'm no longer going to make much content for the arcana if at all. I've watched everything go down/that is going down, paired with my waning love for the game I figure it'd be a good time for me to go. I'm keeping this blog up so if people want to read the headcanons and short fics I've written they're able, but if I'm gonna post here it's going to be more oc based.

I'm going to be clearing out my inbox of requests and closing them indefinitely, but I just want to say thank you. Thank you guys for letting me experiment and letting me write and draw. I've improved in my art so so much because of this fandom and the support I've been given. I've made some amazing friends and mutuals on here who've allowed me to bonk our oc's heads together and let me create and I'm so grateful. I'm grateful for everyone who's commented or liked on any of my works, I read them often and they always make me smile and inspire me to keep creating.

The arcana, while a mess, holds a lil special place in my heart because of everything I've gotten to do and people I've gotten to talk to, so thank you! It sucks where it's going right now, and reading about everything behind the scenes makes it hard for me to enjoy the game as much as I once did, but I'm glad I got to create here.
