to me, wriolette is the scene from fleabag where she says “i love you” to the priest and he (also in love with her) just says “it’ll pass,” and also on that note clorinde and wriothesley’s friendship is the scene from fleabag where she’s like “i met someone” and her friend is like “wow that’s so great, what does he do?” and she says “he’s a priest” and her friend drops her head into her hands and fleabag looks directly into the camera with a smile :)

Okay my crack theory for Lucy’s god situation:

What if instead of dying Lucy’s god became an archfey and fucked off, forsaking all of their followers. I could see that as justifiable for a minor god—maybe you don’t want your personality and existence to be dependent on a group of people small enough for a really big hurricane to wipe them out. Maybe you want to try your hand at self actualization, which you can’t really do as a god. Whatever.

But that would still mean Lucy’s grades would be screwed for the year, and the whole group would be switched to pass/fail.

Whatever god they’re trying to bring back seems like they want to stay a god, but would also only have a single living cleric so their nature would be heavily influenced by who that cleric is, and could still be controlled. Bringing back an established dead god with living followers probably reduces the risk of the god immediately dying or completely sucking ass/not being powerful like what happened with YES!(?), and we know the Ratgrinders LOVE minimizing risk. And choosing a dead god that represents something Lucy is actually passionate about preaching and proselytizing would make her work as a cleric much easier for her emotionally than, say, switching to Helio and just going through the motions, and bringing back a god would probably look good on college resumes.

Idk, that’s just an alternative theory to Lucy’s god dying based on what’s been established this season.

#fantasy high #the ratgrinders #ratgrinders #fantasy high junior year #fhjy #fhjy spoilers #d20 fantasy high #dimension 20 #this is an idea I came up with while basically writing fanfiction in my head about a possible route Ivy’s story could go #that would make the ragtringers not evil / kind of justified #basically my ‘what if’ plot line is that Ivy’s god forsakes her during the sophomore spring project and that leads to her loosing her power #and the ratgrinders having to choose a pacifistic quest to go on because they no longer have a healer but can’t tell anybody #hence why they didn’t kill anything during their sophomore quest but seemingly still passed with a letter grade #(we know Ivy’s death was only reported after grading was completed—which means they wouldn’t have been switched to pass/fail) #Now Ivy is thinking about what grade to switch to before the end of the year so she doesn’t fail #all while covering up her god forsook her to the school until she has her replacement figured out #but WHOOPS something happens and she dies anyway…but with no afterlife she’s stuck as a ghost. The ratgrinders will all fail if they report #her dead right then-and Ivy doesn’t want that for her friends-so instead the ratgrinders disguise self as her and fake her cleric powers #with their own in class just enough to keep her from failing the year…then after grading closes they report her as dead to Augfort and ask #for his help in reviving her like he did the bad kids. But he tells them that he brought the bad kids back by taking their place in #the afterlife; if Ivy’s stuck as a ghost and not in an afterlife than there’s nothing he can do right now but he’ll look into it oh wait #his DAUGHTER is back and they need to bond nevermind here are some resources during this endless night that you can read up on to try to #find a way to bring your dead friend back on your own have FUN high schoolers I believe in you but it’s Ayda time! #so the ratgrinders did a bunch of research on their own and they found that a god could bring her back to life and the only one willing to #do that would probably be a preestablished dead god they brought back to life (similar to Kristen with Cassandra). This red god is just #the safest bet they found in the books to complete their plan #I won’t call all THAT a theory because it’s based on nothing but that’s my idea for a direction her backstory could go #also pretend whenever I wrote ‘ivy’ in this little end section I actually wrote Lucy #I canNOT believe I made that mistake #Cassandra save me

i didnt watch unknown as it was airing bc i knew it would consume me so i decided to binge it all today. i was correct. it has consumed me.

#i am so unwell #and the thing is there is no specific moment or ep i can point to or rewatch to get out out of my system #there is something about the all consuming atmosphere of the show that’s so dense and heavy it’s impossible to escape it I don’t know how #and i find it incredible how they managed to established that atmosphere and built it so well and reached these peaks of emotion that you’d #think would break all that tension but it just returns 10-fold #like this is how you do storytelling this is how you plot a 12 episode drama #bc you get the peak in ep 6 that is the crux of the story getting revealed but you’re only halfway #there’s still so much story to go and they show all of it #they show that this is a thing that takes time and thought and it perfectly demonstrates how stuck in his ways wei qian is #and i find it incredible how both the actors were able to convey the passing of time and their growing up through their performance you can #really feel how wei yuan matures and how what’s perceived as this childish crush or obsession never leaves bc it was never that it was #always more serious and concrete but in his maturity he can show that #and there’s something so crushing about watching wei qian i swear i choked up so many times watching this show bc they both got to me so bad #but wei qian’s story and his outlook on life is so universal and so true to that older brother role that so many people have #i am rambling so bad i just wanna like… exist in the vibe of this show forever #bc the heaviness of it makes you feel the weight lift in the moments of joy it’s beautiful #unknown

they're looking after him! they suspect it's mingo's fault he disappeared but they're not 100% sure if luffy's with him!

also have a quick timeline because i haven't given one, the au is very much a wip so only the published fic for now is canon but that's the idea for now:

→ luffy gets turned on dressrosa -> regroup on Zou (i've written a bit about it but haven't published anything yet) plan for to take down Kaido postponed for now -> Whole Cake Island goes similar to canon but oh the horrors -> submarine trip (what i'm currently working on)

-> ??? zone, more the hearts & strawhats interactions, luffy's & mingo's brains keeps on melting together every now and then, stuff, they do go to Wano now?

-> during the party after freeing Wano luffy disappears without anyone's notice, plot twist, mingo was around to discuss with his business partner and managed to get away alive (law's plan failed through and through).

plot twist #2 the reason luffy isn't bloodthristy for ppl's blood is because mingo fucked up when ordering/compelling him to drink his blood while turning him, now he on feel actual bloodthirst for his blood. this is also why he never feels satisfied, his body is fine with the blood he drinks but his mind his keeps going "we still need more blood" because it isn't the right blood.

this means he finally acts like an actual bloodthirsty newborn vampire when he's around mingo and looses his shit, this also means he's finally perfectly fine and well and sane for real after feeding on him and after months of what he had to go through relief isn't strong enough of a word to describe how he feels, so he goes with him.

mingo can end his command, have luffy be able to drink anyone's else blood and be satisfied, but doesn't.

(there's also mindlink reasons & mingo being a master manipulator ect ect that'll be partly revealed once im done with that damn submarine horror oneshot.)

-> now that they're together it's a lot easier to function, doesn't mean it's easy to coexist tho, mingo decides to go visit Cross Guild and maybe get a new business going on.

again this could all change to smth completely different any time but that's the general idea for now!

After rewatching the Thanks For Watching trilogy, I actually have to double down on my controversial opinion: Hunter never having to directly face off against Belos again after Thanks to Them is actually super satisfying and cathartic in an understated, underrated way. He said everything he needed to say after the worst thing that Belos ever did to him, and from then on, he didn't know it yet but he was free. I'm so happy for him.

#he was in so much pain when he was focused on vengeance in FTF. it's such a moment of relief when WAD lets him breathe #the owl house #the owl house hunter #emperor belos #i don't even think hunter's arc was *completely* unscathed by cancellation-induced pacing issues #i think he would've benefitted from more time to sit with flapjack's death and to flesh out the new magic (esp limitations) #(i think they could've spun up an interesting new angle on the disability metaphor if they'd had like... #an A-plot and two B-plots across half a season. give some payoffs to his prior glyph usage maybe) #but with the cancellation they couldn't have given him that time without taking any away from luz (or others but mostly luz) #and to be clear: i think they made the right choice #because hunter is a great character but nonetheless one that the fanbase needs to be reminded is not the protagonist #anyways he might be the TOH character for which the ending stuck the least for me... BUT the fact that i still enjoyed it overall #is really a testament to the crew handling the cancellation in the best way humanly possible. IMO

The way Suguru keeps poking at his forehead just before he turned to the dark side is significant far as religious themes in jjk go, as it's where the "third eye" (associated with spiritual enlightenment and religious visions) is usually depicted to be. His "third eye" was awakened and he was finally able to see the truth and light at the end of his tunnel, a way out of his endless struggle. And having attained that enlightenment, leaves mankind to burn while he seeks to get closer to god by becoming one himself.
