Cat Spock because why not

I wanted to make him like, a sphinx cat but I didn't have the imagination to do so, so he's just a basic cat. At least I gave him huge wishers.

Last day, last works.

For the third and final day, we have three fics and six drawings!

Catspaw of Another Kind

Summary: Terrifying Sphinxes? Catians? Cats? Oh my.

On a planet that claims to be the origin of all feline species in the galaxy, Kirk is nearly killed by the rulers of the planet who do not allow anyone who is not a feline descendent from their planet to live. Unless of course they are mated to a descendent.

Spock quickly discovers his ancestors might have come from such a place and so a lie was told to keep Kirk alive, but only because he shares a bond with Spock.

Kirk finds this notion ridiculous until Spock confirms that they do indeed share a bond right before the planet affects the Vulcan and he becomes feral.

Now Kirk must find a way to get a wild Spock who wants to both cling to him and run away and two other crewmembers back to the Enterprise before they decide they want to remain forever.

I've had this idea for a few days and imaging it has actually helped me sleep because it's so cuddly and warm. It's also platonic too because if we can't have causal platonic intimacy in the 23rd Century then what's the point?

So the crew go on a mission to a planet and they notice how close Jim, Spock and Bones are, or they win a challenge, or they're being punished

What I'm trying to say is something happens!

The locals, after the event happens, decide to change Jim and Spock into animals that suit them

So Jim becomes a Golden Retriever, think of Dug from Up

Spock turns into a black cat but the kind that is kinda like a liquid because of how it stretches

And Bones is left to care for them, and for a while too because the ship randomly teleports lightyears away as soon as they beam back aboard

Which he's reluctant to do

Uhura is better at looking after Spock for a while because I headcanon that she had a sphinx cat as a kid

And Chekov has fun with Jim because he had an East European Shepherd dog as a kid

But eventually Bones takes more of a handle because at this point they're still mostly human is nature and are reluctant to act as animals

Which poses a problem for eating, and the fact that they can't use a toilet

Especially for Spock

Jim has to be carried off the command chair because he still wants to be the Captain but he's also a dog so falls asleep

Spock also does the same but on the buttons of his console

So they start hanging out in Bones' office while he's working, and a new Ensign doesn't realise that the golden retriever is the Captain, not Bones' assistant dog

They start to reluctantly accept animal life and get some benefits

Jim discovers the absolute joy of chasing a ball around the corridors and Spock the comfort of getting his ears scratched

They sit with Bones on the sofa in his quarters, or either of theirs to be honest

Jim falls asleep with his head on Bones' thigh and Spock all curled up on the arm of the chair

Then Bones falls asleep

Spock wakes Bones up by kneading him with his claws

Bones doesn't play once and Jim gives Bones puppy eyes

They really start to adapt to animal life and start being more animal in nature than human

So they hurry back to the species that made them animals and beg them to turn Jim and Spock back human again

Which they do, but they're naked

They keep some traits like Jim resting his head on Bones' while falling asleep and Spock realises that falling asleep on the arm of that couch gave him the same feeling as meditating on shore leave

So he sits on the floor cross-legged and falls asleep against Bones' leg

(Steven Universe fans think of the backdrop for Peace and Love on the Planet Earth song)

They have to adjust for a week or so to become fully human

But Spock doesn't admit that he still likes getting his ears scratched

I hope you enjoyed this! I love this cute idea a lot, especially Jim and Spock trying to communicate with Bones as animals

5 Things You’ll Find in My Bag:

1. My laptop. My previous laptop was stolen from my apartment a couple years ago, along with my bike and a handle of whiskey (lol), so now I am weird about lugging my too-heavy backpack with my laptop around everywhere I go!

2. The Earthbound Oracle deck. The deck is gorgeous, perfect for when I want to draw a card for a quick pick me up/meditation and for when I need to facilitate a thoughtful check in or out during a group therapy session.

3. Three different lanyards with ID cards and keys. I do mental health work with kids at three separate sites during the week! @_@

4. An expired epi-pen that technically belongs to my mom. Um, I really need to throw that thing away. :/

5. My Moleskin planner. It’s a pretty shade of green this year. I’d be lost without it.

5 Things You’ll Find in My Bedroom:

1. A poster of a Sphinx cat with the caption “PYRRHIC AT BEST"

2. A large dog crate containing my corgi’s bed.

3. A blue and green patterned loveseat covered in piles of sorta folded laundry.

4. A card table with wooden legs (perfect for channeling spirits, according to my grandmother, who is a witch), covered in quilting supplies.

5. So many books!

5 Things I’ve Always Wanted To Do in Life:

1. Go to Norway and see the fjords.

2. Go to the Scotland to see the Scottish moors.

3. Write and publish novels.

4. Get the F out of Dodge and attend a small, academically rigorous liberal arts college - I did this, and it was lovely!

5. Have a tight-knit chosen family / one of those 90s sitcom groups of friends (except nicer and more queer than the groups on sitcoms!)

5 Things I’m Currently Into:

1. Reading 6000 different stories about how Arthur and Eames end up together and never getting sick of it. <- Just going to completely steal this one from @deinvatiwrites. Because SAME. Also, trying to write what feels like 6000 different A/E stories at once!

2. Reggae. Can’t help myself, am so into The Reggae Express.

3. Quilting. I was inspired by Draco’s beautiful heirloom quilts, one for each season, in Sara’s Girl’s All Life Is Yours To Miss, so I signed up for a quilting class, and I am currently constructing my first quilt! It’s super pretty.

4. Supporting gender expansive youth. I’m co-facilitating a QSA for young teens currently, and it’s dope. These kids inspire me so much.

5. Juno Steel. <3<3<3 He’s a down-on-his-luck, bad ass lady PI trying to solve a big case in the most dangerous city on Mars. @thepenumbrapodcast is really cool.

5 Things on My To-Do List:

1. Exercise my dog. This is perpetually on my list because my dog has the most energy.

2. Write and text people back. This is also perpetually on my list because I have become terrible at it.

3. Work on my budget. I’m terrible with money, alas.

4. Finish and mail my valentines for the Inception valentines exchange. <3

5. Read some Bond/Q fic. I read my first one yesterday, and it was really cute!

5 Things People May Not Know About Me:

1. I wear beaded bracelets on my wrists, one for each year of clinical work that I’ve done. I usually make bracelets with my clients/students as a closing activity at the end of the year. :) I hope to keep collecting bracelets as I get more experience as a clinician!

2. I’ve done non-monogamous dating for the past eight years.

3. For the first twenty three years of my life, I always lived alongside a river.

4. I have sleep apnea and wear this crazy retainer that pulls my jaw forward so that my airway doesn’t collapse when I sleep. If I got turned into a zombie while wearing it, I’d be a sorta harmless zombie because I wouldn’t be able to bite people.

5. I do a mean femme Spock cosplay.
