fr tho @staff why are you trying to make tumblr more like other sites why are you destroying your niche in the market please there have got to be ways to make tumblr more accessible to new users without sacrificing the very things that your existing userbase loves

#its a genuine problem... I have had friends sign up for tumblr and then not use it because they dont know how to navigate non-algorithmic sm #but come on. there have got to be ways to build up the onboarding process so that people learn how to search for blogs + content #and/or ways to create separate contained algorithmic feeds OR to create the option to turn the algorithmic feed off like it is rn #and honestly I do think tumblr's focus should be more on 'how do we convince people non-algorithmic is good' #rather than 'how do we become algorithmic' #there's gotta be a whole angle in there right??? something like emphasizing that on tumblr you find the content YOU want #not the content we want you to want #also the whole thing about drawing in new creators. have they talked to existing creators??????? bc I dont know that they want algorithms #i dont know I just think tumblr will never be able to do the algorithm better than sites like FB or tik tok or even twitter #so if they try to become algorithmic they will fail to meet the standards of new users AND they will drive away the existing userbase #its a bad look. this is your niche. play to it. thats marketing 101

The hate towards forcebook is so pushed. What have they even done? Everything they do is criticized. Accounts I have never ever seen hate an actor before are rallying behind it even for the tiniest reason that seems almost ridiculous. It's just quite confusing because they seem genuine and like the least problematic people. With the amount of haters they have if they were indeed problematic in the slightest they'd on the jumbotron getting blasted. It's not even like they're bad actors. Just random hate for no reason. why is the internet dying so much, its making me feel awful. more people using ai generation. kids getting fucked over because teachers are using ai testers giving false positives on their work. they cant even google shit anymore as its hard to search for stuff. doing my thesis i used bing the entire time because google sucks so much! but even bing has built in ai so the first thing you get is generated. old websites dying, link rot bigger than ever, and social media falling apart completely. posting art online is always at a risk whether youre a good artist or not. its always reposted, which is partially good for archivation but once your work leaves the site you posted it onto you have less rights ratio to it and it can end up who knows where and very much become ai food.. everything is just advertisements now, 80% of twitter posts are pushed ads for me and every second or third post on tumblr is an ad. most of them ai generated. first google results are all ads. and dont let me get started on reading comprehension and media literacy, its GONE

I'd been feeling severely anxious and depressed about my business being dead, and the thought of having to talk to my parents and ask for help again, but luckily my whinging (an Ad) on Facebook seems to have worked, and I got a nice little customer job.
