People really don't seem to get that regardless of whatever feelings they have about Daniel, he's in Dubai because of Louis. Think of him however you like but he said it plainly, "hire a transcriber. I don't do puff portraiture anymore". Louis had the complete option of simply not contacting him, simply letting Daniel die in his own oblivion and irrelevance that even Daniel himself points out.

"Legacy? That's for board members and assholes in loafers". Armand doesn't seem to want Daniel in Dubai either because of what Louis may want Daniel to do (publish a book, risk other vampires to come after him). So for all the questioning and sarcasm Daniel throws at Louis, he's still an old man in his 70s with a developing disability, locked in a penthouse apartment with no way out with two old vampires who are more than capable of tearing him to shreds. That's his choice but it's also Louis' choice to even have him there. If Louis didn't want the sarcasm, the bitterness, the relentless questioning and invalidation of his (blatantly constructed) narrative, he wouldn't have taken to asking Daniel to interview him again. If this was solely about Armand, Louis' life story has absolutely zero to do with whatever went down with Armand and Daniel. Louis has followed Daniel's work, has read his autobiography. He knows Daniel's work even has a motif of unreliable memory that becomes obscured with time (or another vampire's mind-bending ability). Again, Daniel is in Dubai because of Louis. No one is demanding he continue an interview with an old mortal man whom he could just as easily kill with no one questioning anyone else about it afterwards. Daniel is of no importance to even his own family now, yet Louis still wants their interview to continue. Frankly for all of Daniel's dismissive comments, Louis has had every opportunity and chance to kill him already or shut him up, have his mind wiped and send him home. The fact that he doesn't is more glaring than anything else.

So I was famously (it got like 6 notes) against sleeping with Astarion a second time because it felt like one of those Zevran situations where you need to reject him for the best outcome, and accepting was such a nothing scene (on purpose, I get it, but still) while rejecting him seemed genuinely more interesting.

SO! I'm gonna headcanon that yes, Astarion does attempt to sleep with Hiraeth a second time in order to secure his position on the team, and they go along with it up until a certain point before they notice he's clearly disassociating and go "Oh ew. Bye I'm not doing this lmao."

Cuz 1) I feel like him panicking and thinking he's fucked up is delicious angst when mixed with the relief of someone not forcing their body on him and 2) Hiraeth is a bard, and a reasonably attractive one, so everyone they've slept with has been very enthusiastic about it. They can tell when someone isn't, and they feel kind of insulted that he was both assuming they'd be into semi-traumatizing him for their own cheap benefit, and that he's clearly attempting to use them for ??? Some purpose??? But why?? What is he hoping to gain that they won't just give him if he asks??

So he's like "I'm consenting? I suggested it? Why does it matter if I'm into it?" because he's given up on the charade at this point and is desperate to stay on their good side, and they just stare at him for the longest time like "That's the saddest thing I've ever heard. So one thing I've always loved about uni/studying/learning new things is when you have different subjects or different tiny dots of knowledge and slowly, as you learn more and more, those tiny splashes of knowledge are becoming less isolated, and you realize that it's all connected and - at least with my subjects being in the humanities - you sort of “unlock” this new perspective on a certain aspect of the human condition. And like, that's fun enough and - if I'm being honest - probably my favorite thing about studying already as it is, BUT NOW, now that I've finally gotten back into writing as a hobby this is just ANOTHER dimension for me to expand that knowledge into and to use that knowledge for. And I am absolutely living for it. So happy to be back on my bullshit and so happy to be at a place in my life where these two passions of mine fit so seamlessly together and one passion benefits from the other and vice versa

a lot about how she interacts with the rest of the group depends on how people write them of course, but assuming the 3 of them are all normal humans, she possibly does feel it to some extent. but i think in the kda verse ahri is a lot more easily in control than in her original version — maybe as a result of never living isolated as she does in base verse.

in base verse, she grows up alone in the wild and doesn't feed on others consciously at first, more so guided by pure instinct, and later on although she tries to keep herself in check, she kills the artist and spends several more years living in isolation. in kda, she's always been around people (often big groups of people, too, between stuff like going to school or even the concerts). i think the hunger still exists, but it's not as overwhelming because she learned to deal with it to exist in society basically.

and that is not the point but it is to say i don't think any urge to eat her bandmates' spirit essence would've been overwhelming or really dangerous. they might make her a lil hungry at times, but it's easy to ignore that because she knows how to deal with it (and only having like, 3 people around is manageable in a way a huge crowd is not).

out of the 3, akali seems to me the more intense, so she might be the one who makes ahri hungrier jahssjhd but yeah i think she probably did get the urge to eat them at some point but never to a level where that wouldn't be easily ignored. ahri definitely does everything she can to make sure she'd never hurt anyone on accident, especially people she loves — and she loves kda with all her heart. if she starts getting too hungry around them, she'd simply make sure to hunt down someone else instead.
