wow this is the second time this month i made a character before making a world... maybe i should go see a doctor...
anyways, look at the fella!
Tumblr media
ok i should probably give some context now.
It is 1586 and the world is swept up by gold fever. Thousands upon thousands are travelling to the rich land of Recalia to find their fortune in gold.
Of course, everyone knows the real money is in transportation. Corporations like Brett Transport Company (BTC) have experienced a massive boom in the few years gold has managed to seize the minds of the world's population.
These companies have massive fleets of ships. One such ship is the BTCS 142, referred to as the SS Leviathan by her captain and crew.
One seemingly uneventful day, in the middle of the calm seas, the sailors let loose a net so they could eat something that wasn't salt horse or hardtack. When they pulled it up, they found a man.
There weren't any rafts or floats nearby that he could have been on. He didn't appear to be dangerous. In fact, he looked like a normal human. He struggled with remembering anything---even his own name. They couldn't just toss him back out to sea, right? I mean, just look at the poor guy!
The captain, however, was a tough gal. She let him stay on the condition he became a provisional employee of Brett Transport Company. He eagerly accepted.
The following exchange occurred between the First Mate and the Captain.
FM: Cap'n, don't you think this could be a little risky? I mean, this is a bit suspicious, don't you think? People don't just appear in fishing nets.
Captain: I don't care if he's an ancient sea legend that'll tear this ship to shreds. He's working his keep. We fished him up out of the ocean and if he's not working, he can go right back.
Following that exchange, they soon found out that he was in fact a siren. Sirens were normally indistinguishable from humans, as their mythical features are only revealed when they sing.
Imagine the shock of being a sailor in the boiler room with this guy lol
So anyways they run up (after their shift, of course! We're not made of money here!) and after getting her information, the Captain and Sailors have the following conversation.
Captain: Don't sirens usually tear people's flesh apart?
Sailors: Yeah...
Captain: Has he torn any of your flesh apart?
Sailors: No...
Captain: Has he been doing his work?
Sailors: Yeah...
Captain: Then what's the problem..?
uhh i'm gonna do an amnesia plot with this guy in the future if i decide to come back to him how fun!!

Tumblr media
Hello, foxesandmagic. I hope you are having a wonderful day. I hope you don't mind if I talk about my latest muse: my Uncharted character named Niamh Aoife Donovan.
I hope you don't mind if I break these questions down one by one. It's easier for me to concentrate that way. As I have aphasia, please forgive the occasional wrong word.
Tumblr media
Who is your current muse, and who is their faceclaim/what do they look like?
My current muse is Niamh Aoife Donovan, daughter to the famous former explorer and professor named Arthur 'Art' Donovan. Niamh is a very spirited and tenacious adventurer. She is a bit of a thrill junkie as she loves excitement and discovery. Her upbringing from her father and his friend, Victor Sullivan, lead her to become a skilled treasure hunter. She has sharp wit, quick thinking, and a very playful nature that adds a lighthearted dynamic to any adventures she is on. She cherishes her relationship with Nathan Drake and Sully, who have become her found family. She has an independent spirit, charm, and intelligence that makes her ready to take on any challenges that come her way.
Niamh's face claim is Karen Gillan. Here is her following description. It's kind of vague since it's just in my notes.
Niamh stands 5'3 inches. She has blue eyes and straight red hair that stops at her shoulders. She typically wears sundresses and a sunhat when she is not adventuring and tending her bar in Kuta Beach. Her adventuring gear is typical for a woman of fortune.
Tumblr media
What is one item that you associate without fail to them?
As Niamh lost her father due to tragic events, she keeps a Carthaginian coin on her person. This was from her father's last dig in Greece (if I remember correctly as I don't have that in my notes). It dates back to 428 BTC. The front of the coin has Nike flying over a horse; the back, a grain of wheat.
When she is nervous, she tends to dip her hand into her pocket or pouch and rub it. It makes her feel like her father is watching over her.
What is their favorite color?
Her favorite color is emerald green. When I choose her favorite color, I wanted to symbolize her vibrant and adventurous spirit. She represents growth and renewal in her relationship with Nathan Drake, but she is also tenacious, resilient, and can adapt like any creatures in a jungle.
Is there a song you associate with them? Is there a song you associate with them?
youtube
When I first heard this song, I was reminded of Nate and her relationship immediately. It is how he feels about Niamh as she has devoted herself to helping him overcome his grief while pushing the grief she felt for her father's murder down inside her.
This is a pivotal when Nathan learns that she was suppressing her grief to help him through his own pain. It's actual the theme song of their relationship.
Here is a Spotify playlist for their relationship. I need to curate one just for her.
A quote that she is known to have say is:
Fortune favors the bold, and I'm not one to shy away.
What do they like doing in their spare time?
Niamh likes to explore ancient archaeological sites, read and research, rock climb, expanding on her mixology skills as well as coming up with signature drinks like 'Drake's Fortune' (a tongue in cheek reference to Uncharted), practice martial arts, take photography for her travel blog, and go to escape rooms. She also loves to attend the Fire Festival on Kuta Beach.
How much spare time do they get?
As the co-owner of 'Sunset Shores' -- her bar in Kuta Beach -- she leads a very busy life. Running a bar requires her attention to detail, overseeing operations, and ensuring that her customers are satisfied.
It's a responsibility that she shares with Sully, but even then, it eats a significant amount of her time. This is especially true during peak season and busy periods.
She does find a balance between her responsibilities as a bar owner and her personal pursuit. She prioritizes her free time to engage in treasure hunting with Nate and Sully, expeditions, and her more adventurous activities.
Niamh knows that she needs to take breaks and enjoy moments of relaxation.
What one fact do you love about them, but might not have had the chance to share yet?
tw: guns
One of the facts that I love about them that I haven't shared is a particular adventure in the heart of the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico. Nathan and Niamh embarked on a thrilling expedition into the heart of the jungle. Her eyes caught a sparkle in the distance, prompting her to encouraged Nathan to investigate. He immediately jumped off the ledge with her in tow to get a closer look.
To their surprise, they'd discovered a discarded pirate captain's gun stuck in the mud instead of the treasure they thought it was. Their excitement gave way to humor as they laughed.
They would soon find themselves in the middle of a chaotic shootout with the pirates and the captain.
This was actually based on my husband's recent playthrough of Uncharted 2. He had cleared the area of mobs (bad guys) and was up on a ledge where we both saw a twinkle to the far right of the TV screen. He had Nathan like leap off the ledge he was currently on, raced over for the treasure, and it was only a gun. It was hilarious and I decided to include something like this in my personal head-canon.

Mysterious $1.19 Million Transaction to Satoshi Nakamoto Wallet Sparks Speculation
Tumblr media
An eye-catching transaction of $1.19 million has been sent to the wallet believed to belong to the mysterious creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto. The transaction occurred on January 5, 2024, and has led to speculation among the crypto community. Some believe it may be a costly mistake, an effort to generate hype around the Bitcoin ETF approval in the US, or even a generous donation from an altruistic individual. However, the identity of the sender remains unknown. The transaction has sparked discussion and interest within the crypto community, with theories ranging from homage to the Bitcoin inventor to simple human error.
The wallet in question is the storage for the 50 BTC block reward from the first Bitcoin block ever mined in 2009, referred to as the "Satoshi Nakamoto wallet". Prior to the transaction, the mysterious sender withdrew approximately 27 BTC from the Binance exchange. This suggests that Binance's compliance department may have information on the sender's identity. However, no concrete evidence has been presented to support any of the theories surrounding the transaction.
Transactions involving wallets from the early days of Bitcoin are often seen as potential signals of market volatility. Some wallets belonging to early Bitcoiners were observed being activated before the collapse of the Terra/Luna cryptocurrency, and others managed to sell their Bitcoin holdings for significant profits. However, transactions from these "ancient" wallets can also occur on regular days without any significant price fluctuations. The motives behind this particular transaction are yet to be confirmed.
In conclusion, the $1.19 million transaction to the Satoshi Nakamoto wallet has generated speculation and theories within the crypto community. Whether it was a mistake, an attempt to create hype, or a generous donation, the true intentions and identity of the sender remain unknown. The transaction has once again ignited interest in the early days of Bitcoin and the enigmatic figure of Satoshi Nakamoto.

NASA Mission Will Depreciate Gold - In 10 Years the Global Precious Metals Market Will Collapse
NASA is going to deliver an asteroid worth 10 quintillion dollars to Earth. How much is it? If you had to spend a million a day, it would take approximately 2.7 million years to spend even one quintillion. Or 1 quintillion dollars could cover the area of the United States several times over.
The Spacex Falcon Heavy shuttle was launched on October 13 and is on its way, having covered 3.5 billion kilometers. The mission's goal is to bring the asteroid Psyche 16 to Earth by 2030.
Tumblr media
Falcon Heavy is the most powerful rocket ever launched by Elon Musk's SpaceX. However, the most powerful carrier in the history of astronautics is considered to be the Saturn 5, used as part of the Apollo program for flights to the Moon. Its maximum carrying capacity was 118 tons. This is much larger than the Falcon Heavy but the Saturn V is no longer in use as the flight program has ended.
This asteroid is one of the most interesting objects, which is located between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. The celestial body was discovered in 1852 by astronomer Annibale de Gasparis and named after Psyche, a character from ancient Greek mythology.
If the space agency manages to deliver this block to Earth, then the world could drown in an abundance of precious metals. Silver, cobalt, platinum, rhodium, ruthenium, iridium and palladium - this is not a complete list of precious metals that Psyche 16 is rich in. However, the main element of the asteroid is gold, which is worth trillions of dollars, if you count the current value.
Experts are confident that, despite the potential value of the asteroid, its impact on the global gold market will not be immediate. Extraction of resources will require considerable time and most likely it will take more than a dozen years.
In contrast, there is Bitcoin, a kind of digital gold that plays by its own rules. Strict emission, immutability of code, and decentralization make cryptocurrency valuable. And even if three such asteroids are delivered, it will not change anything.
More than 19 million BTC out of the planned 21 million have already been mined. According to forecasts, the last Satoshi will leave the “digital mine” only in 2140. And who knows what will be more valuable then - a piece of shiny metal or a code line?

Armenia Cancels Drills with Russia
LOS ANGELES (OnlineColumnist.com), Jan. 11, 2023.--Armenia’s 47-year-old Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said he’s canceling joint military exercises with the Russian Federation scheduled for later in 2023, saying that current tensions in the restive Nagorno-Karabak disputed territory with Azerbaijan continues to be a problem..  Once a Soviet satellite, Armenia has been independent from the Russian Federation Sept . 21, 1991.  While maintaining close ties with Moscow, Armenia has drifted away after 70-year-old Russian President Vladimir Putin seemed to back Baku in the ongoing dispute.  Part of the Russian-backed Collective Security Treaty Organization [CSTO], Pashinyan thought it was best politically for Armenia to develop closer ties with the United States and European Union [EU], especially while Putin figures out how to resolve the Ukraine War.  Pashinyan thinks suspending drills with Moscow helps Yerevan.
Painted in the Western press as a slight on Putin, Pashinyan’s decision to postpone joint military exercises with Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Krgyzstan and Tajikistan is strategic.  Suspending military drills with CSTO gives Armenia an opportunity to explore more military and humanitarian aid with the U.S. and EU.  Caught in a bloody proxy war wit the Kremlin, 80-year-old President Joe Biden isn’t inclined to help any country that cooperates with Moscow.  “At least this year, these drills won’t take place,” said Pashinyan, calling the drills “inappropriate in the current situation,” referring to the Ukraine War. “Russia’s military presence in Armenia not only fails to guarantee its security but it raises security threats to Armenia,” Pashinyan said, referring to the ongoing skirmishes in the Nagorno-Karakbak region. Azerbaiban Muslim radicals have attacked Armenia’s ancient Christian churches.
Unlike Armenian, Azerbaijan is an oil-rich country on the Black Sea, compared with the impoverished, land-locked Armenia.  Pashinyan asked Putin for help to stop Azerbaijan radicals from attack ancient Christian churches and towns in the hillside areas of Nagorno-Karabak.  Armenia got frustrated with Russia’s new economic relationship with Azerbiajan, a country that competes with Russia delivering crude oil and natural gas through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyan Pipeline [BTC].  Azerbaijan separatists fought a 1994 bloody war with Armenia, disputing much to the mountainous region bordering on the Black Sea.  Azerbaijan enjoys close ties to many of the Caucus regions, also fellow Muslim countries and former Soviet satellites. Armenia and Russia have shared deep Eastern Orthodox Christian ties, despite the Caucus region overwhelmingly Muslim.  Pashinyan still has close ties to Moscow.
Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov disputed the idea that Moscow and Yerevan had a kind of falling out over Nagorno-Karabak.  Only recently, Putin announced he would intervene to help restore peace to the Nagorno-Karabak region, something only he can do with his clout with Baku.  Western officials downplay Putin influence since the Feb. 24, 2022 Ukraine War, where the Western Alliance certainly has problems with Moscow.  Putin still enjoys support from China, India, Brazil, South Africa and all the former Soviet satellites in the Caucus states.  Saying that Biden has universal support for his proxy war against the Kremlin is preposterous.  Certain the NATO alliance has followed  along with Biden, despite knowing that the Ukraine War must end at some point.  Saying Putin is isolated by the whole world grossly overstates his support in many parts of the Mideast and Indo-China.
Armenia wants to see how much aid it can get from the U.S. while Pashinyan takes short break from Moscow.  Moscow’s historic ties to Yerevan won’t go away anytime soon, especially because of the Ukraine War.  Pashinyan has every right to develop closer economic ties to the U.S. and EU, knowing that his ties to Moscow makes any new foreign policy with the West more difficult.  But when push-comes-to-show in Nagrono-Karabak, Moscow still has more clout with Azerbaijan that the U.S. or EU.  As the Ukraine War drags on, more doubts creep up in the EU of how long this can go without risking war on the European Continent.  Biden thinks he can use Ukraine to fight a proxy war with the Kremlin, where it’s systematically destroying Ukraine.  As some point in the near future, Biden will have more pressure from Brussels and U.S. elected officials to resolve the conflict.
Western press reports grossly exaggerate a rift between Yerevan and Moscow.  Putin has been a stabilizing force in Nagorno-Karabak where Islamic radicals have wreaked havoc on ancient Christian sites.  Armenia’s 47-year-old Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan looks to Washington and Brussels for more economic support to his landlocked, impoverished country.  While the Ukraine War rages, any country that wants U.S. and EU help must cool its ties with Moscow.  Pashinyan looks to increase business opportunities with the U.S. and EU, requiring Armenia to distance itself from Moscow. Whatever criticism Putin gets from China and India over Ukraine, they still readily buy cheap Russian crude oil and natural gas.  Since the Feb. 24 war began, Putin has developed even stronger oil and natural gas sales with Asia, Africa and South America, keeping Western sanctions from tanking the Russian economy.

An Unknown Individual Signed a Message Associated With BTC Block 1,018, Reward Was Minted 16 Days After Satoshi Launched Bitcoin
Tumblr media
On Nov. 15, 2022, a post was created on the forum website bitcointalk.org and the thread’s creator asked people to share signatures tied to some of their oldest mined bitcoin blocks. 11 days later, a newly created bitcointalk.org profile, called “Onesignature,” shared a signed message tethered to an extremely old block reward created on Jan. 19, 2009. The key was associated with bitcoin block 1,018 which was created 16 days after Satoshi Nakamoto launched the network.
Mysterious Individual Signs a Message Tied to a Block Reward Created on January 19, 2009
An unknown bitcointalk.org user called “Onesignature,” signed a message tied to bitcoin block 1,018, an extremely old bitcoin block reward that was created on Jan. 19, 2009. The block signing was discovered by the owner of bitcoin.org, the pseudonymous character known as “Cobra.” “A user ‘Onesignature’ has appeared and posted the signature for a key associated with block #1,018,” Cobra tweeted. “For context, there are probably a handful of people in the world who can sign with a Jan. 2009 key,” Cobra added. The bitcointalk.org post shows the user Onesignature’s shared signed message was a bitcoin address that was first seen on Dec. 2, 2022. The BTC address “1E9Yw” has seen a few dust transactions sent to the wallet since the day it was first seen. The signature (HCsBcgB+Wcm8kOGMH8IpNeg0H4gjCrlqwDf/GlSXphZGBYxm0QkKEPhh9DTJRp2IDNUhVr0FhP9qCqo2W0recNM=) is associated with the bitcoin address “1NChf.” The address held the block reward (1,018) in the wallet up until June 14, 2011. Furthermore, one user discovered that the mined coins, transferred in 2011, also had “private keys of addresses that mined earlier than the above-mentioned address.” The people in the post wondered if the user Onesignature was actually Satoshi Nakamoto, but Cobra detailed on Twitter that the address was not a “Patoshi block,” a block associated with Bitcoin’s creator, and remarked that it was “unlikely to be Satoshi.” “While many people *could* have mined Bitcoin that early, the overwhelming evidence suggests that barely anybody did,” Cobra added. “Bitcoin was obscure, irrelevant, and seen as a dumb idea, why install some random .exe?” In Cobra’s Twitter thread, the pseudonymous whistleblower known as “Fatman” said the old address could have been purchased from someone later in time. Fatman shared an old bitcointalk.org screenshot that shows someone noting that “many old keys have been sold or leaked.” Additionally, it was also discovered that a Twitter account exists and it uses the name “@onesignature.” The Twitter account, also named “Andy,” was coincidentally created in October 2009 and the account’s profile image says “don’t trust anyone.” In the bitcointalk.org thread, a user also noted that the signed address was associated with a number of block rewards mentioned and photographed in a Forbes article written by Andy Greenberg. The article is about one of Bitcoin’s earliest adopters, Hal Finney. Bitcointalk.org members also speculated that the address was somehow associated with the now-deceased Bitcoin developer. Replying to Fatman on Friday, Cobra said that if Onesignature did “purchase a Jan 2009 key, they are about to get swamped with massive offers.” “Someone is trying to make a bold statement,” Cobra added. What do you think about Onesignature signing an ancient bitcoin block from 2009? Let us know what you think about this subject in the comments section below. Read the full article
