Family Dynamics In Rick and Morty, Season 1 Compared to Season 6
So, "Solaricks" got me thinking back to Season 1 and Morty's original family and I've just thought back to the Christmas episode, "Anatomy Park."
Specifically, how Morty spent the entire Christmas away from the rest of the family. He doesn't sit with them for dinner, he doesn't play non-tech games in the living room with them. Yes, Beth does ask Rick in the garage where Morty is but mostly she, Summer and Jerry take it for granted that he won't be spending the day with the family. They're not even really waiting for him to come back and join them, nor does Morty seem to think he's expected by them to do so.
After the Cronenberg universe-switch, though, I think Morty began making the effort to get closer to his family. "Raising Gazorpazorp" is really the first episode where the dynamic of Rick and Morty having their own separate storyline from the rest of the family gets broken, followed by Morty reaching out to Summer in "Rixty Minutes." Morty and Rick both have developed much stronger ties to the rest of the family, not just to each other.
And I know the Smith-Sanchez family has undergone a heck of a lot of Character Development but "Solaricks" just brought it into the upfront, you know. It's interesting to rewatch the first season and see how the whole family dynamic has changed, and so much for the better.

The body is decaying. The arterial transit system is useless. We can try the service shuttle. It’s connected to the skeletal system. That’s why we call it The Bone Train.
