“Flower Room”
Late-ish gift for @amethystmoon420! Merry late Christmas and Happy Early New Year! Heard you liked Frey/Leon, plus the kids. So have some family fluff. Hope you enjoy!
(also sorry if the readmore messes anyone up! It got long)
Leon let Luna hold open the door for him. “Thank you, my lady,” he said with an exaggerated bow. His daughter giggled. Carnation’s was pretty much empty. The only one inside was Amber, who was currently napping with her head on the counter. Sunlight warmed her from a nearby window.
Shaking his head, Leon strode forward and said loudly, “Well if no one can sell us flowers, we’ll just have to steal them.” He winked at Luna. She covered her mouth to suppress another giggle.
Amber jolted upright, looking around in alarm. “What? Stealing what?” Then her eyes fell on Leon. “Oh, hello!” She jumped up. “Welcome!”
“Good morning, Amber.” Leon said with a smirk.
“Morning? But it’s passed noon!”
“… Nevermind. We’d like to buy some flowers.”
“The prettiest ones you have!” Luna cried. “They’re for mommy!”
Amber clapped in excitement. “Sure! What do you want them to say?”
Luna looked up at Leon, confused. Leon, unfortunately, could not help her. “Do flowers say things now?” He asked.
Amber laughed. “No, silly. Not you people like you, anyway. Different flowers say different things! What do you want yours to say?”
“Ohhh I get it!” Luna said. Leon was glad of that because it still baffled him a bit. “We want flowers to say how much we love mommy. Which ones say that?”
“Lots!” Amber bounced over to a display case. “We have peonies and tulips and sunflowers and asters and roses— and every color rose means different things too! We have yellow and red and pink and—”
“Alright, alright, please stop for a second.” Leon pinched the bridge of his nose. “So, all these flowers mean something?”
Amber grinned enthusiastically. “Yeah!”
“And even different colors mean something?”
“Yup!”
Leon nodded and headed for the door. “Come on, Luna, lets so someplace more straight forward.”
“Aw come on, daddy!” Luna wined. “These all look so pretty. Don’t you want the best for mommy?”
In the doorway, Leon froze. Of course he wanted the best for Frey. She was his everything. But what had started as a simple trip for flowers was quickly turning into a headache. He sighed and rested his head on the door jam. “I always want what’s best for mommy,” he assured Luna without looking up. “Okay, you win.”
With a cheer, Luna turned back to the case. “I really like these yellow ones with the thin petals.”
Amber gasped. “Those are chrysanthemums! The yellow ones aren’t nice. But the white ones over here are, look.” The two knelt down to look at another set of flowers.
Watching them, Leon sighed again. This was going to take a while.
Hours later, Frey came home tired and sore from a day in a cave. “All I want is a bath and a bed,” she said as Luna hugged her around the knees in greeting.
Leon chuckled and kissed her forehead. “I’m sure you do. Come with us for a moment.” He threaded their fingers together and tugged gently.
Reluctantly, Frey followed her husband and daughter downstairs. “What’s in the trophy room? She asked. Leon ignored the question and waited until they were all on the bottom step to turn on the lights.
Frey gasped. The room was covered in flowers. Roses, daffodils, carnations— flowers she couldn’t even name but took her breath away. “Leon…” She covered her mouth with surprise. Luna was jumping up and down, smiling broadly up at Frey. “Is— is it our anniversary?! Did I forget?!”
“No,” Luna said before Leon could answer the opposite to mess with his wife. “We just wanted to show you how much we loved you!”
Frey opened and closed her mouth a few times before Leon took pity on her and lead her into the middle of the room. “Amber helped us pick out everything,” he explained. “And every flower means something different.”
“Flowers mean something?”
“Of course, everyone knows that,” Leon said. Luna giggled. Frey stared around in awe. The sunflowers were tall and proud. The lilacs, white and purple, were twisted together beautifully. Luna picked up a daisy and tucked it into her hair. Leon explained the different meanings; red tulips represented perfect love, peonies for romance and good fortune, multiple daffodils since one usually meant misfortune, yellow roses for joy and purple one for love at first sight.
Frey was almost overwhelmed with the affection. They circled the room as Leon spoke, Luna adding in details from Amber every once in a while.
“And finally,” Leon gestured to a vase of yellow flowers in the corner of the room, “we have iris. Purple or blue represent faith and promise.”
Blushing, Frey leaned over to smell them. “What does it mean when they’re yellow?”
With a grin, Leon leaned over and said in a low voice, “Passion.”
The blush grew deeper. Frey hit Leon’s arm. “Come one, Leon!”
Luna looked thoughtful. “I thought yellow meant luck?”
“Oh it’s lucky alright.”
“Leon!”
He laughed and pulled his girls close. “So? Do you like them?”
With a resigned sigh, Frey kissed his cheek. “Of course I do. I love you.” She ruffled Luna’s hair. “And I love you. This was very sweet of you both.”
Luna wrapped her arms around her mother’s legs, smiling wide. Leon kissed the top of Frey’s head.
From that day on, the trophy room was called the flower room. And it was always kept well stocked.

Hewwo 👁👄👁 A lil apology for not drawing more of the Resplendent series after Olivia 💦💦 art depression hit me hard these after March and I'm just now coming to liking drawing and making art again. I may return to doing Resplendent art next year
But for now, will be doing silly lil doodles and posting them at @amethystmoon420 whenever I can in the near future. If it's FE-related, they will be posted here
But for the time being, a lil ramble! I've been playing Three Hopes these past months, and it's been a BLAST! I enjoy the combat so much, much more than the first FEW! I love the new characterizations of the characters we already know. Have finished Scarlet Blaze, and almost done with Azure Gleam (when I replay the routes another time, I'll be going for the bad ending). Ugh, I love Shez. Like, LOOOOVEEEE SHEZ!!! They are such a blast and a breath of fresh air with how down to earth they are. I could ramble more but nvm :')
