I’d say KJ Charles (most if not all of her stuff is Victorian/Edwardian) but idk if her stuff would lend itself to the kind of porn you want to write.

I really need to pick up Charles’ stuff one of these days -- it’s definitely true that I suck at writing stuff where canon relationships are semi-functional and/or where there’s a HEA/HFN genre convention. (Not that that’s bad at all, and in textually queer romances it’s an especially big deal, I’m just a really dismal person.)

ugh, that's the worst - the same thing happened to me with The Book of Thomas, only I wasn't warned beforehand.

I’m sorry you had to deal with that. I looked at some other reviews where ppl were insisting he wasn’t a rapist and someone actually posted the passage from the book verbatim (apparently it’s in the opening scene!) where he mentions having raped some farmer’s daughters before some kind of fire killed them which like yeah...I personally can never stomach reading a book told from a rapist’s pov exclusively idc what else they’re doing and it’s so good a place like goodreads exists so you don’t waste time and money on being surprised abt it and reading no further

I just got back from the Locke Street counter-protest. There were two groups there opposing the Sons of Odin - the Hamilton District Labour Council, and Hamilton Against Fascism. The SoO heard ahead of time that counter-protests were planned, so instead of marching from Victoria Park, they just went straight to Locke. The police blocked off all entrances to Locke Street, so the counter-protestors couldn't walk down it - they said it was to avoid any violent confrontations.

and yeah, okay, fair. though, does the fiance thing really still apply these days bc i’m pretty sure idri cancelled that when eliot and margo got deposed. or i could be remembering wrong. either way, he still has fen, i suppose. (whooo should toooootally get a wife, on a mostly unrelated note.)

(also, moral of this story: do not binge-watch three seasons of tv in three days. it’s not a good idea and causes canon to run together a little in your head.)

Sir John and Lady Jane have a really active, eclectic, passionate sex life in which they find intense mutual satisfaction despite intensely weird early-Victorian attitudes toward the purpose and proper channels for sexuality. Sophia is dimly aware of this and it’s the worst thing that has ever happened to her.

Irving has a huge dick and he is mortified by it. He also has an exalted and esoteric view of The Marital Act, but would never ever discuss this fact with anyone who was not his own lawfully wedded wife and maybe not even then. He thinks people would poke fun at him for it, and they totally would.

Pre-canon E.C. considers sex work and blackmail pretty much two sides of the same coin along with a lot of other ways to make money from a subordinated position. He’s also done a little time. 

Tozer has also done a little sex work but he views it totally differently than Hickey and if they ever compared notes they’d both be furious and confused.

Crozier and Sophia fuuuuuucked, you guys, they totally fucked. 

I have only one non-fuck headcanon for this fandom and it is this: Goodsir absolutely likes marine animals as much as his historical counterpart does.
