Sloths are not uncommon in Costa Rica, especially in the perspiration-soaked lowland rainforest along the Pacific Coast and the patchwork jungles around Arenal volcano. They are, however, extremely difficult to spot sonetimes and many visitors require skilled wildlife guides to point them out for fear of missing out.
