I get fucking angry when someone says Jodie Whitaker was miscast or didn't have good performance as the Doctor because that is fucking wrong... She was amazing and doesn't deserve the blame for bad scripts...

i'm just obsessed with how fun this performance is, everything from the holley laughing in three over two to how he just slaps a harmonic on a fucking double bass to how he's just having an absolute blast.

Just saw the new Elvis movie, and I gotta say.....it was pretty fucking awesome. Austin Butler captured the presence of Elvis on the same level as Kurt Russell did decades ago in the made for TV movie....Elvis.
Tom Hanks plays against type as Colonel Tom Parker, who was in fact a horrible human being and a damn thief. Well known for likeable and when loveable characters, you get a dirty feeling from the moment he appears on screen.
Filled, of course with classic music, and plenty of Elvis songs, it was also filmed and acted tremendously. Told from the point of view of Colonel Parker on his death bed, basically defending himself against allegations made that he had taken advantage of Elvis and was pretty much a crook.
It shows where he first saw Elvis, the shady way he guided his career, his jealousy of Priscilla and her influence over him, got him reliant on pills, basically sold him into slavery to Las Vegas criminals whom he owed money to, indirectly caused Priscilla to leave him, and obviously shortening his life due to the aforementioned pills.
The highlight of the movie is no doubt the 68 comeback special. I've seen that special many times and boy did they nail this landmark in music and television history. A close second was the lead up to and subsequent first of those Las Vegas shows. Both these scenes show just how talented Elvis was. Just amazing scenes of amazing performances.
The real heart punch though is near the end. At an exchange of Lisa Marie between mom Priscilla and Dad Elvis, taking place again airport. After his daughter leaves him in the back of his limo where Priscilla joins him. She clearly still cares for him(not new information btw), while asking about his health. She reaches out towards his cheek but then grabs his hand instead. She tries to talk him into checking into a "facility" obviously a rehab center. The moment is touching, and heartbreaking at the same time. As Priscilla exists the limo Elvis can't seem to let go of her hand until she is completely out of the car.
Elvis then exits the limo and locks eyes with Priscilla, and he mouths..."I will always love you", before getting on his plane. Then the movie jumps ahead to his last performance and his death. Having died without the one true love of his life, besides music. Which I unfortunately identify with, all to well. I won't lie, when he mouthed those words.....well I cried. An amazing performer whose legacy lives to this day, but some of the prices he paid along the way....... were high prices indeed.
Anyone who is an Elvis fan should see this movie for sure. I will definitely watch it again.
And hey..... Elvis wasn't able to the love of his life, so how could I be expecting to.

Bach - Concerto in A minor BWV 1065 | Netherlands Bach Society
Bach arranged various Vivaldi concertos for organ and harpsichord. The Concerto in A minor, performed by Siebe Henstra, Menno van Delft, Pieter-Jan Belder and Tineke Steenbrink for All of Bach, is largely based on Vivaldi's Concerto in B minor for four violins and orchestra. But of course, he gave it an exciting twist, as in Bach’s version the soloists play harpsichords and B minor changed to A minor. Recorded for the project All of Bach on April 16th 2016 at Ottone, Utrecht.
