I just wanna say that I have been doing d&d with these people for roughly a year at this point and it has been the longest and best session I have ever been in. Hugo is an amazing dm and everyone who participates makes the session worth having. Even our favorite ghostie Eren who always listens to our session has made this campaign incredible and I adore every single one of them.

You’re not a particularly heavily sleeper, and you’re on a slightly different cycle from your matesprit which means for a few hours each night one of you is awake while the other isn’t. His routine is steady enough though that now when he gets up for his evening run, and you untangle yourself from him, he goes about his own business and you can generally go right back to sleep without much trouble. It’s unusual for him to bother you until you’re both out of bed.

Which is why when you’ve re-wrapped yourself in blankets and are just starting to doze again, you flinch when you feel something brush the hair from your face. It’s not enough to scare you badly, but you do carefully peek one eye open.

He’s standing on your side of the bed, fully dressed, hand still pulled back from making you jump, and his face glittering faintly from the quiet panic of being caught. You don’t tease him for acting like he’s done something wrong, or try to ease that nervousness. Pulling him into things makes him fight more. You just breathe his name.

“...Evgeny?”

“I’m--” he starts, falters, frowns. The rainbow across his face gets a little darker. “I didn’t mean to wake you up. I’ll. Be back soon, as usual.”

“Okay... I’ll probably be making breakfast when you get back,” you mutter and nod, nestling down a little and lazily watching him grab his backpack from by the door and sling it over his shoulder. “You can... say bye more often,” you suggest as he’s about to leave. “I like it.” He pauses.

The two of you, for your own reasons, have been slow to verbally express your feelings even now that you’re in a relationship. You’d like to think it goes without saying how much you care about him, but you still hedge as close to saying it as you can. Hopefully he gets it. Hopefully it’s not too much.

“Okay,” he says, pulling the brim of his hat down a little more snug and shutting your bedroom door behind him.
